As Gale rubbed her back and tried to calm her down, she nodded her head lightly and just listened to his voice, his words assuring her. She hugged close to him, keeping her face buried into his shoulder as she just relaxed a bit and tried to calm herself down. And thankfully, it was working a bit, and with Gale helping comfort her too was helping.

"Thank you..." she sighed softly, having calmed down mostly by now, but still wanting to stay close to him and remained leaning against him with her arms around him "How's your hand? I heard you got a pretty good punch in on Cato" she said, changing the topic a bit with a slight smile.

~

Cato sighed softly as he held her close in his arms, gently kissing the top of her head "I know, I know..." He cooed her softly, trying to get her to just calm down a bit and relax. "She had no right saying those things to you, we both know that. Both of you were just angry and upset with each other, I get it" he spoke as he held her close against him until she had relaxed a bit more.

As he held her close, and after she was able to calm down a little bit more, he spoke up a bit again "When we get back you should stop at the medical wing. I know the suit stopped the bullet but I want to make sure everything is okay still, alright?" he suggested.

Serena sighed slightly as she clung to him. "I know you're right," she whispered as she tried to calm herself down. She didn't really want to go and see the doctors though she wasn't about to argue with Cato. She had already argued with two friends she didn't need to lose another. "Fine," she whispered quietly as she rested her head on his shoulder.

It wasn't too long before they landed in 13. When they did she took Cato's hand and got up. She headed out rather quickly to avoid Alice and Gale. She didn't need anyone else yelling at her today. She went into the medical unit and the doctor checked her out. "It will more than likely bruise, but it should be ok. If the pain worsens after a few days come back and I'm take an X-Ray but I don't think it's necessary right now."
~
Gale smiled slightly as he looked down at Alice and then his hand. "It's alright," he admitted with a nod, "It might be a little sore tomorrow but I doubt it'll be too bad. I would never say it to his face, but punching that guy was like punching a truck." He shook his head slightly as he continued to rub her back until they arrived back at 13.

When they landed he went to get up, but as he did two guards walked in. "We're here to escort you to President Coin's office immediately," one of them said as Gale looked at them. "Are you kidding me?" he asked but it was clear that they weren't joking. He looked back at Alice gently. "I'll come see you when I'm done alright?" he said quietly. This was bad. He knew he was going in there because he had taken a swing at and landed a punch on Cato. They had been warned about that when they entered 13. He had expected it to be more for Cato than for himself.

Cato smiled at her when she started to calm down, and he nodded his head a bit in agreement "Well yeah, of course I'm right" he smirked, going back to his usual self a bit now that Serena had calmed down enough, and he didn't have to worry about comforting her in as much of a sensitive sort of manner.

He was glad when she had agreed to at least get a quick check up at the medical center, and the fact she hadn't put up too much of a fight or complaint about it or anything. So once they landed back in 13, that's where he headed with her, sitting off to the side of the room while Serena was checked over, glad to hear that it wasn't serious, like he pretty much expected, but still glad to know for sure it wasn't anything to bad, just probably a bit of bruising and soreness.

~

Alice smiled a bit, letting out a soft laugh when he said how Cato was like a truck when he punched him, and she smiled a bit with a shake of her head "Apparently he works out whenever he isn't with Serena. So I guess that shouldn't be much of a surprise" she commented as she took his hand in her own and looked it over "But i agree, it looks like it might just be a little swollen is all" she commented as she held his hand.

Once they had landed, she got up and was about to walk out with Gale when two guards walked up, here to escort Gale to Coin. Her eyes widened a bit in surprise for a moment, before they flashed to anger "That's ridiculous. If he's getting called in, all four of us should be" She snapped with a glare to the guards, before looking to Gale when he spoke to her, and she frowned a bit "I don't care what you say. I'm coming with. The incident did involve me after all, it only makes sense I'm there too" she said, since she knew Gale had punched Cato for the way he had been talking about her.

Serena looked up at him and shook her head with a smile on her face. "You are crazy," she said with a smile before kissing his cheek. Luckily the doctor's office didn't take too long and she was grateful for that. The last thing she wanted was to spend time in a doctor's office when she honestly didn't even need to be there.

Once they released her she walked out with Cato with her hand in his before leading him back to her room. She slid the card through the reader before walking inside. She sat down on her bed before laying back. "I hate today," she muttered knowing that eventually she would have to confront Alice. She wasn't sure if she was ready for that though.
~
The guard looked at the other before shrugging slightly. "Fine. Let's go," he said as he led them off. They walked into Coin's office and she was already at her desk and she looked quite disappointed. "I heard that your mission to 2 was a success, however there was a...disagreement on the transport back to 13. I have here that you, Mr. Hawthorne, engaged a fellow member of District 13 with an intent to harm."

"Harm? He's like a truck," Gale said with an annoyed look on his face, but Coin didn't seem to care. "So you did try to hurt him?" she asked but Gale just kept the same look on his face, "We take this type of physicality very seriously. I warned you about this the day you walked in here. There is no excuse for this type of behavior."

Alice was glad the guards didn't seem to argue about her tagging along. If Gale was going to be punished for this, she was going to be there to stand by him. It wasn't fair he be the only one punished, even if his attack was physical. She following them to Coin's office, where they soon entered and Coin was of course instantly questioning Gale.

She frowned a bit as Coin seemed rather serious about the matter "He only did so to protect me" she argued, though kept a calm voice since Coin was after all the one in charge, despite how much Alice hated her, she didn't want to unnecessarily enrage her any more. "Plus, does it really count as an attack if it did Gale more harm than Cato?" she scoffed a bit under her breath.

~

Cato smirked a bit at her response, simply shrugging his shoulders "So I've been told" he smirked a bit before the doctors cleared Serena so that she could leave and go about the rest of the day normally as she pleased. He headed out of the medical wing with Serena and headed back to where their dorms where.

He followed her back into her room, relieved to not see Alice there. Though he momentarily did wonder where she might be - probably with Gale, he figured. Maybe they were in his room? He didn't think about it for long though, since honestly he didn't care. He sat down on the bed beside Serena "I know" he sighed when she commented hating today "It was a pretty rough and long day..." he said with a shake of his head "I hope coin keeps her word about the physical fighting thing among each other. Hopefully Gale will really have it handed to him" he scoffed, not at all bothered by the idea of Gale being punished.

Serena honestly didn't care what Alice was doing at the moment. She didn't want to think about her. Alice had some hurtful things to her and she still wasn't over them so she wanted this her to just stay away from her for the moment. "I don't want to think about them right now," she said quietly as she took his hand in her own, "Gale has to deal with the consequences of his actions and I doubt Coin will let him off easy."

She did her best to block the two out of her mind as she looked at Cato. She couldn't but smile as she looked at him. "I love you," she said gently, "Thank you for coming with me to District 2. I know that probably wasn't easy."
~
"Simply because he doesn't like what Cato was saying does not give him the right to hurt him. No one has that right. I said that to all 4 of you when you entered 13. Violence will not be tolerated here. I'm afraid I will have to ask you to pack your things and leave. I will arrange a transport to take you back to 12 tomorrow morning," she said as she looked at Gale.

Gale looked rather surprised. "You can't kick me out of here," Gale snapped but Coin wasn't about to let him intimidate her. "You made a choice on that transport Mr. Hawthorn and unfortunately it was the wrong one. As I said you will be leaving tomorrow morning so I suggest you go and pack up your belongings," she retorted sternly.

Alice was expecting Coin to be strict about her punishments, but hearing her decision, she looked at her dumbfounded. "You've got to be joking!" she finally raised her voice as she looked to the woman "Kicking him out? For a simple punch?!" she glared "And what about 12? Have you forgotten our district has been turned but all to absolute rubble?! No one lives there since the capitol razed it to the ground and killed most everyone there!" she glared at the president.

She honestly couldn't believe this was even being discussed "You're not even going to ask what happened? The story of it all? And I highly doubt that not a single other member of this district has thrown a punch at someone else without your knowing. You're being ridiculous!" She snapped.

~

Hearing Serena's words about not wanting to talk to them right now or anything he nodded his head a bit "Right, no problem..." he assured, not wanting to upset her and letting her have it as she wanted. He moved to fully lay down beside her on the bed, wrapping his arms around her and holding her close.

As he held her in his arms, he smiled a bit at her words and he nodded a bit "I...I love you too, Serena..." he spoke softly while keeping her in his arms "You know I would do anything for you. I just hope your words can get through to them, and that today wasn't an entire disaster, like it felt" he sighed a bit.

Serena watched as he laid down next to her and felt his arms around her. She listened as he spoke and smiled slightly. "Well I know Amber is onboard with us. Maybe she can do a little convincing," she said gently as she ran her fingers through his hair, "Besides I managed to get you on board didn't I? You're more stubborn than all of them combined."

She gave him a slight smile and a shake of her head before kissing his cheek. "I think we'll be just fine," she said gently. She still wondered what the future held for the two of them should they win the war. She knew the idea of thinking too far ahead freaked Cato out but it didn't bother her as much.
~
Coin knew they weren't going to like the decision but she was not about to be spoken to that way. "If our scientist deem 12 unsustainable then he will be sent to 11. No one here in 13 has ever acted against each other. The ones that have are gone. I'm sorry you don't like my decision but I will treat you any different than any of the others. I told you this when you came into 13 and he chose to act out of line."

Gale rubbed his face. He was grateful that Alice was standing up for him but then again he didn't want her to get kicked out as well. "I have been told the story by multiple witnesses. You're not going to tell me anything I don't already know. It doesn't matter was said. None of you has any right to harm any one else. Mr. Hawthorne, please pack your things and be ready for transportation at dawn."

Alice shook her head as she looked at Coin, her face a mixture of emotions, of disbelief, anger, pleading. "You cant....you can't do this!" she spoke, slight tears in her eyes as she really thought of Gale actually being kicked out, and what it would mean. It wouldn't just mean that he wouldn't be in district 13 anymore. It meant he would be a very real and easy target for the capitol, leaving him out in the open of the districts. His face was already well known by the capitol, and he'd live constantly with a target on him.

"You don't know that! People in here act out against each other all the time, even people you aren't aware about. You can't stand here preaching how you wont treat him differently, when you know damn well you would be if he was the mockingjay" She snapped at Coin, who always bent her rules and regulations when it came to Serena, and Serena could use her position against Coin to get what she wanted. "You don't know anything other than what you want to know and hear. Do you even know why Serena cut the recording off in the middle of today's mission? You should be more worried about what she says off camera than a single, harmless punch that Gale threw"

~

Cato nodded his head a bit in agreement as Serena brought up Amber "That's true. She still seemed a bit unsure, but she definitely was coming around to the idea, and I think she'll make the right decision. And getting Amber on board with something may be just as hard as it is with me, maybe even harder. So if she really starts trying to further convince the district, people may really listen to her" he commented in thought, knowing how strong headed Amber could be. She didn't like change even more than he himself did, so if she changed, others likely might too.

Cato smiled a bit at her words "Yeah, I think so too" he agreed when she said they would be fine. He had to hope so...and as much as Cato loved fighting, even this war was starting to get a little old for him, and he wanted it to be over with already. As he lay there, he realized how late it was getting, and while he didn't bring it up since Serena didn't want to talk about them, he was a little curious where Alice and Gale were still have not come back yet. Not that he was complaining, just curious.

Coin looked at Alice for a moment. She hadn't know that. No one had told her and she hadn't see the footage yet. She looked to one of the guards that escorted both Gale and Alice inside. "Bring Serena to me. I need to speak with her please," she said before the guard nodded and headed out. Serena had been told to keep everything on camera so they could use any and all of it to produce propaganda. It was a bit unsettling to know that she had disobeyed orders. "This still doesn't excuse what happened in the transport," she said with a shake of her head, "I'm sorry but I've made my decision. I'm sorry but I can't bend the rules on this."

The two guards knocked on Serena's door before opening it. Serena sat up and looked at them. She had expected Alice. "President Coin would like a word with you, Ms. Kinsley," one of them said. Serena looked at Cato before nodding and getting out of bed before following after them. She figured Cato would follow her as he always did. She wasn't sure why. perhaps because he didn't fully trust Coin.

They were ushered inside and Serena saw that Alice and Gale were in there as well. Both of them were visibly upset. Serena looked at them before turning to Coin as the President spoke. "Ms. Kinsley did you ask the cameras to be switched off after I specifically told you that those cameras were to remain rolling?" she asked. Serena looked at Alice before nodding slightly. "I did," she said as she turned her attention back to Coin, "I thought District 2 would feel more relaxed without the watchful eye of 13 on them. They seemed uneasy and I wanted them to trust me so I asked for the cameras to be shut off for the moment."

That wasn't entirely true but it was truthful enough. She had actually wanted to speak against Coin but she couldn't do that with the cameras rolling. "I told them that they can trust the you and the rebellion. I didn't want them to think that I was saying that just because you were going to watch the video," she lied swiftly and rather flawlessly. It was a trait she had picked up from the Capitol. It was good to know she could still do it.

Alice glared at Coin as she still seemed set on her decision "I'm not saying it excuses his actions. I'm not even saying that you have to forgo any type of punishment. I'm just saying that you don't know everything, and Gale shouldn't be punished as far as by kicking him out of the district, where, regardless of what you say and what you may argue otherwise, with how wanted and known he is by the capitol, that's a sure death sentence" she glared, taking Gale's hand and holding on to it tightly. She refused to let Coin get away with doing this.

Alice spared a glance over at Serena and Cato when she noticed them come in, but she didn't look at them for long, mainly because she was already too upset over what was now happening to Gale, she didn't even care about her argument with Serena earlier. Well, she cared, and it still bothered her. But this was more important and serious to her than a fight with Serena. Hearing Serena's lie of a response to Coin, she rolled her eyes a bit but didn't say anything, since she was already too emotionally distraught by Gale likely being kicked out, and she didn't know what to do.

Cato was laying with Serena, and it seemed the two of them were finally relaxing a bit from the stressful and rather long day. He was resting a bit when there was a knock at the door. He was momentarily confused, since if it was Alice, she could get in. But perhaps she was knocking because of what had happened between her and Serena earlier? He soon found out though that it wasn't Alice, and Coin wanted to see Serena.

Cato of course got up and followed along with Serena to Coin's office, where he saw Gale and Alice clearly upset about something. Alice looked even more of a wreck than from when she and Serena were fighting, so he was confused and didn't know what that was about, glancing to Coin as she and Serena spoke. Cato remained silent through it, obviously not about to point out his girlfriend just lied and all.

Coin looked at Serena for a moment as she listened to her. She had still broken the rules but at the same time it was hard for her to do anything. She could reprimand her for going against her orders but she couldn't kick her out of the District. Coin knew just like everyone else did that she was not replaceable. The Districts loved her and the Capitol despised her. Sending her away would raise problems in the Districts and would basically sign her death warrant as well.

"Alice seems to think that you were speaking against the Rebellion," Coin stated with a raise of her brow. Serena looked at Alice for a moment. She tried not to show it but she was furious. "I don't know what she's talking about," Serena replied, "I said some pretty choice things to her earlier so I have a feeling she's trying to get me in trouble for something I didn't do. Jealousy will do that to people I guess." It felt good to take a jab at Alice for that. She would never throw Alice under the bus, but Alice apparently didn't have a problem doing it.

Gale shook his head as Serena spoke. He wanted to tell Coin she was lying but he knew she wouldn't listen to him. He'd give Serena this: she was craftier than he had given her credit for. Then again she had won the games because of her slick and cunning nature so perhaps he should have known better than to underestimate her. He looked at Alice quietly before hearing Coin speak up again.

"Very well," she said knowing full well she was going to look more into this, "We have been trying to decide whether or not Mr. Hawthorne should be allowed to stay in the District after his quarrel on the transport. I explained to all of you when you arrived that should you attack another member of 13, then you would be sent back to your home district. Do you have anything you would like to say on Mr. Hawthorne's behalf." Serena knew that she could protect Gale. She could pull the old 'if you want me to be your mockingjay you will pardon him for what he did'. But she didn't. "No," Serena said simply.

Alice looked to Serena as Coin directed a question to her about the video being cut off and everything like that. She knew that as much as Serena had pissed her off...she generally was a very compassionate and kind person. Maybe she would redeem that known part of her a bit now. However, as Serena not only denied it, but also blamed Alice for jealousy and making things up, she rolled her eyes a bit. "The only thing I may be jealous about over you is the fact that you don't have to risk your life every day" she said before further rolling her eyes at she claimed no knowledge of such claims.

"Well of course she's going to say that" She said as she looked back to Coin directly "I don't blame her, of course she wouldn't tell you to your face how she spoke not only of you being untrustworthy, but also promising district 2 a guarantee that she would personally make sure you were no longer in charge once the Capitol is destroyed" she commented, looking to Coin and maintaining eye contact as she spoke to prove, and show that she wasn't making her words up or lying about them. Alice had previously calmed down a bit since the fight with Serena, and had time to cool down and calm down. The only thing seriously still bothering her was Coin trying to kick Gale out, and that was the priority focus her emotions were on right now. She was going to suck it up and try to work things over with Serena later - since they after all lived together, they had to. But after hearing her just absolutely deny any help or words in favor of Gale, that could get him to remain staying here, she was no longer thinking of playing nice.

Cato remained silent as he stood beside Serena while Coin confronted her about the video issue earlier that day, and why it had been cut off. He glanced over to Alice with a slight glare, since he knew it was likely Alice that had told Coin about Serena cutting the recording off in the middle of the visit. He currently remained silent though, since he felt it wasn't quite his place to speak out - he didn't want to end up giving anything away or indirectly implying Serena had done something wrong if he were to try and suddenly speak out and up for her in this situation. So for now, he was mostly there for support and to just see what all this was about, remaining silent.

When Coin spoke of Gale's banishment from district 13, Cato would admit even he was surprised. Sure he complained about Gale all the time and thought he was a good for nothing, and honestly, a son of a bitch who was a royal pain in his ass. Cato couldn't complain enough about him. And he would more than love to no longer have to share a room with him. But at the same time...kicking him out seemed...unreasonable. What's more, when Serena even refused to put in a good word on Gale's behalf, he was surprised. He knew she was upset, and probably just trying to get back at Alice in this way, but to get back at her by getting at Gale? It wouldn't just piss Alice off and get back at her, but it would effect Gale. That seemed cold even for Serena, and he looked to her concerned, wondering where the all-loving Serena he'd known all this time had gone. And in that moment, he felt like he didn't know her at all.

It honestly felt good to get back at Alice for that. She had just thrown Serena under the bus. If someone would have said something she could be in big trouble for speaking against the President. She knew in the Districts that was punishable by death. She wasn't sure what the punishment was here, but she was not about to let Alice get the best of her. Then again she didn't want to see Gale go under either.

She had a plan though. Wait until everyone left and then tell Coin that Gale wasn't leaving for what he had done to Cato. Cato was fine, Gale was fine. No one was injured so there was no need for this type of punishment. However, she also wanted Alice to feel a bit of pain for stabbing her in the back like that. She could be very nice to those that she considered her friends, but ruthless to those who crossed her.

Gale was shocked when Serena said she wouldn't help him. This was ridiculous! He had helped her through all of this and then when he needed her the most she was just going to abandon him like that. How could she? Gale knew this was it. If he went home or to one of the Districts, he was going to die.

"Good," Coin said before looking at Gale, "I will send you the information as I get it." Gale looked at Coin before walking out. He was completely distraught and infuriated. Serena didn't leave though. She told Coin she wanted a private counsel. She agreed and had the two guards escort both Alice and Cato out.

Alice glared over at Serena, she already wasn't happy with her, but now targeting Gale? There was no need for it, and it was going to far. Even if it was just to piss her off, that was low to involve and affect someone else just to get at her, especially Gale. When Coin seemed to have heard enough about the matter for the time being, she bit the inside of her cheek to try and keep from acting out when Coin was dismissing them.

Shaking her head, she stormed out of the room, following after Gale. "This is ridiculous" she hissed in frustration, holding onto Gale's hand as she walked back with him to the dorms. She tried to calm herself down as they walked, but nothing she did to try and distract her mind really worked. Gale could seriously be kicked out...and at this rate, it seemed like he was going to be. As they got back to his room, she let out a heavy sigh as she laid down on his bed "I'll go with you" she spoke up, looking to him.

Cato couldn't quite understand where Serena was coming from. In that moment, she didn't seem like herself at all. Was she mad at Gale too? Maybe for trying to punch him? Cato honestly didn't care that much...I mean, it's not like the punch had really hurt or anything. Gale was too weak to really injure him. But still, was that why she was signaling him out too now? Or was it really just to get back at Alice?

Cato found himself confused, and at a complete loss in that moment for what Serena was doing. It wasn't quite so much Gale possibly being kicked out that bothered him - well, it did, but not as much as Serena acting so cold and ruthless that bothered him more. He could understand if it was maybe more directed at Alice, but this effected Gale the most, and he hadn't done anything to Serena that he was aware of, and he was just confused as to where the girl who would stand up for just about anyone and everyone had gone. The girl who still considered someone who shot at her to kill a friend more than an enemy, yet apparently Gale was less than that? As they were all dismissed except for Serena, he just looked at her with a slightly worried, and slightly disappointed look, before he reluctantly left the room, shaking his head a bit to himself, more than confused, as he made his way back to his room.

Serena ignored the glances that she got from her counterparts as she looked at Coin. She waited until they were gone before explaining to Coin that she didn't think Gale deserved to leave. He was a good fighter and had risked a lot for the Rebellion. "He was just upset, "she explained, "If anyone is to blame it would be Alice and I. We instigated it. It would have never happened if we would have just kept our mouths shut." Coin sighed slightly and shook her head. "If we decide to let him stay here, all of that will have to be erased from the record. I can't have people think that it's alright to fight against one another in here."

"I understand," Serena said with a slight nod. Coin took a moment to think about it before finally giving in. "Alright," she said quietly, "Gale will be given a full pardon for what he's done, but should it happen again, I will dismiss him immediately." Coin signed a pardon agreement before handing it over to Serena. "If you see him please give this to him," she said before Serena nodded slightly, took it, and headed back to her room. She looked over the paper as she walked back. She braced herself for the worst before knocking on Gale's door.

Gale walked back with Alice and shook his head. "No Alice you're staying here. It won't do the rebellion any good to have both of us dead. Though he wasn't sure how much he really cared about it now. They were shipping him off for throwing a punch at Cato, and the guy deserved it no less. No one really seemed to care though, so if they didn't care about him, would should care what happens to them. He slid his card through the reader and walked in with Alice. "Let's just...let's just calm down ok?" he said gently, "There's no point in stressing out about it. It's done and over with, but I won't let you set yourself up to get killed."

He stopped though when he heard a knock on the door. He looked to Alice. Were they coming to get him early? He let out a sigh before walking over to the door. He opened it and much to his surprise and dismay he saw Serena. "You got a lot of nerve com...," he started but Serena was quick to interrupt him, "Shut it." She glared at Alice for a moment before speaking up again. "How dare you throw me under the bus when you know damn well that's what you believe in too. I told those people the truth and you know it," she snapped at her before tossing the paper at them and heading to her own room.

Alice frowned a bit and lowered her gaze to the floor when Gale commented how it wouldn't do them good for them both to be dead...which basically meant he agreed he would die once he was kicked out. She bit her lip, glaring at the floor in frustration "No, I'll go with you. I don't want to be apart of this kind of a rebellion anyways, if this is how Coin is going to act" she said as she looked back up at Gale "She's just like Snow. She just wants soldiers to fight for her, they're expendable. Once someone does something she doesn't like, they're useless to her. I don't want to be a part of that if she's kicking you out for something so minor" she said with a frown. Maybe they would die once left to fend for themselves outside of 13, but she wouldn't let Gale go through that alone.

When there was a knock on his door, her heart dropped as she instantly sat up on his bed. They couldn't be kicking him out right now, could they? When the door slid open, her worry was replaced with bitter anger, narrowing her eyes as Serena stood there. She ignored what she said, not wanting to hear it, or caring what she said. It didn't bother her, and after her even letting Gale go under, she wanted nothing to do with Serena, regardless. She glanced to the paper that fell to the floor after she'd left, wondering what it was.

Cato headed back to his room after they were all dismissed from Coin's office, where Serena stayed to have a private meeting with her. He found himself a bit at a loss, not really sure. The Serena in that room a few moments ago was entirely than everything he knew about her up until now. Sure, he knew she could get upset and angry, but not only to the extent she'd gone, but even signaling Gale out in her spiteful revenge against Alice...it didn't seem like something Serena would do at all. But then it made himself question if he knew Serena as well as he had thought he had all this time.

As he got to his room, he could hear Gale and Alice talking inside. He really didn't want to be left alone with those two right now. He was sure they were pissed, and especially at Serena for her actions - Alice obviously already was from the earlier fight, but now if Gale hadn't been upset with Serena before, he certainly was now. And he didn't want to be signaled out now if he went in there by them. He sighed a bit, and just remained in the hallway for a bit, sitting a little bit further down the hall against the wall as he sat on the floor, glancing up only when Serena came back. He glanced to her as she spoke to Gale and Alice when the door opened, before she disappeared to her own room.

Gale was about to say something to her but Serena was gone before he could. He looked at the paper that she had tossed at his feet. He took a moment to read it and as he did his heart skipped a beat. "It's pardon papers...signed by Coin," he said gently to Alice before handing it to her. He wasn't going to have to die. Not today at least.

He wasn't sure what to say. At least he wasn't about to die. He walked over to Alice and hugged her before kissing her head. "Everything's going to be ok now," he whispered to her, "I promise."

Serena paced in her room as the guilt started to eat at her. How could she have said those things? She was right though wasn't she? No. There was no way she was right. She had hurt two people that were close to her. But didn't they deserve it? She didn't know anymore. This rebellion was starting to drive her crazy. She was probably as weak as Alice said she was.

That felt like a punch to the gut. She was weak. Alice was right. She was right about everything. She hadn't done anything for the rebellion. She was nothing but a pawn and she had hurt the only people that were willing to help her. She felt a lump her threat as tears began streaming down her cheeks. She was a monster and she hated herself for it.

Alice had already been convinced that Gale was going to be kicked out, and in turn, she would be going with him. Even though she knew it was a sure death sentence for the both of them...she wouldn't abandon Gale. They had been through so much together...the games, captured by Snow, fighting together....she wouldn't abandon him now, and she couldn't. She'd already been convinced this would be their new reality, so when Gale spoke up about the papers being a pardon, she almost didn't believe it.

She took the papers as he handed them to her, reading them over as her eyes widened, eyes stinging a bit with tears of relief. Tossing the paper down on the bed she stood up and instantly wrapped her arms around Gale's neck, hugging close to him "You get to stay!" she breathed in relief, hugging tightly to him.

As Cato had been sitting a bit down the hall, mainly wanting some time to himself since Serena was busy with Coin, and he really didn't want to be in his own room that had both Gale and Alice in it. He was sure they would likely complain at him, and even by the miracle they didn't acknowledge him or talk to him, he knew there would be an uncomfortable atmosphere and tension in the room with Gale having to leave now, and he didn't want to deal with that. Another part of him...the small, minuscule bit of kindness in him, figured he could leave the two of them alone together since Gale was about to have to leave.

When Serena came by though, speaking shortly to them before disappearing into her own room across the hall, he watched as the door closed behind her. He waited a moment, before he got up from his seat he'd made in the hallway and walked over to the door, knocking on it lightly "Serena?" he called softly "It's me. Can I come in?" he asked, waiting for a reply, and to be let in.

Serena felt her mind racing just like it had been when she came back from the Capitol. No this couldn't be happening again. Not again. She was cured. She didn't need anymore therapy or treatments. She was fine. And weak. She was weaker than anyone here. She couldn't even defend herself. She didn't deserve to be here like the rest of them were. She deserved to die.

She was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard Cato's knock. She quickly wiped her tears away before walking to the door and letting it slid open. "I already gave Gale is pardon papers if that's what you want to speak with me about," she said rather stiffly.
~
Gale held her close and rubbed her back gently. He was so happy he didn't even know what to think. "I can stay," he whispered to her as he held her close. He didn't even know what to think. Today had been such a rollercoaster of emotions, and he never wanted anything like this to happen again.

He hated to admit it but without Serena he knew he would have been gone. Did he hate her? He didn't know. Did she do it because she cared for him or just because she had the power to do it? It was a bit unsettling to think about.

Alice just clung to Gale happily, as if she let go the news of him being able to stay might not be real, and he would be taken from her. She was just so relieved in that moment, that she forgot about everything else on her mind for the moment; her fight with Serena, the way Serena treated her, Coin not caring about Gale's fate once banished from 13...everything was blank in her mind as she just focused on the moment of the fact Gale was here, and here to stay.

After a few moments, she still kept her arms around him, though loosened her grip a bit, and part of her knew that it was Serena's doing to get Gale to stay. Was that why she wanted to talk to Coin privately? So she could get Gale pardoned, yet, wouldn't have to act like she was being nice in front of her and Gale? She mentally scoffed a bit at how childish it seemed...and she was still incredibly pissed at Serena. But in that moment she just didn't care, and didn't focus on any of that, and just focused on the reality that Gale was staying. She leaned up, kissing him softly on the lips as she smiled "Everything's fine..."

Cato waited patiently outside the door until he heard Serena approaching it from the other side, and the door slide open a few moments later. Before he could even open his mouth to say anything at all, she was already countering anything he might say defensively. He blinked a bit in confusion, before her words sunk in and he registered what she had done, and that she had spoken up to get Coin to pardon Gale for the punch.

"Oh....that's good. I uh...that wasn't exactly what I wanted to talk about" he said as he stepped into the room, letting the door slide closed behind him. Well, it partly was, since he was confused with her sort of behavior that he wasn't familiar with. But he could tell it was already a touchy thing to go towards right now, so he focused on the other thing that he came to her for. "I just wanted to check up on you...today's been...well, today's been a hell of a day. I was worried about you and just wanted to make sure you're okay after everything, and then being called to Coin like that."

Serena looked up at him quietly as she listened to him. She had trouble maintaining eye contact with him as her thoughts continued to race in her head. They kept telling her how useless and weak she was. It was clear that she was not in a good frame of mind. She kept thinking back to Alice's words and how she said them, convincing herself that Alice had been right and that she shouldn't be arguing with her.

"I'm fine," Serena managed as she tried to keep her body from trembling, "You need to leave now though. I don't want to talk." She turned to walk back towards her bed as tears started to roll down her cheeks again. "Go make sure Gale is ok," she whispered. She didn't want him to see this. She didn't want to go back into rehab. She had hated it there.
~
Gale kissed her head once more as she spoke and hold her close. He was convinced that everything would work out for them. He wouldn't be surprised if now Coin was watching him like a hawk, but he didn't mind the thought. He knew they were thinking he was some sort of crazy guy, and he needed to prove that that wasn't the case.

"I'm sorry I lost my temper on the transport," he said gently, "Serena was saying some nasty things to you and then Cato stepped in like an idiot and I just didn't want him to hurt you." And he meant that. He knew he probably wouldn't stand a chance against Cato in an actual fight but at the same time he knew he had to at least try to protect his girlfriend even if it meant he would get his own face punched in.

Alice looked up at Gale when he apologized for losing his temper before, and she sighed softly "It's not your fault, Gale. I really appreciate you sticking up for me" she said with a soft smile "If anyone should apologize its Serena and myself. We were the ones that were fighting, and then Cato decided to try and get involved, and it just got messier from there. But you don't need to apologize" she said as she kissed his cheek softly "I'm sorry you had to get involved like that, and you're the one who ended up in the most trouble. That wasn't fair" she sighed.

After a few minutes, she was finally able to let go of him a bit, feeling better and more comfortable that he wasn't leaving any time soon, and he could stay here. Which meant she could too, because regardless of what Gale would try to say or convince her, she was going with him if he got kicked out. "Would it be okay if I stayed here for the night...? I really don't want to have to deal with going back to my room right now" she mumbled, hoping he wouldn't mind, and that she wouldn't have to face Serena right now.

~

Cato could tell that something was bothering Serena. And after everything that had happened today, he'd honestly be a bit surprised if she was completely fine. So when she said she was fine, he didn't believe it for a second. He sighed softly as he looked to her, watching her turn her back on him and telling him to leave. He could tell she was upset, and he came here because he wanted to make sure she would be okay and everything.

Sighing a bit, he walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her back into his chest and embracing her closely from behind "I'm sure Gale's fine, he's got his stupid girlfriend with him" he huffed, before kissing the side of her head as he held her in his arms "But I don't think you're that fine...so I'm going to stay here with you until you are" he said as he rested his chin gently on her shoulder while he hugged her.

Serena didn't want Cato to see her upset. She knew it made him upset when she was upset so she didn't really want to show him what was really going through her mind. He probably hated her just as much as everyone else did. She wouldn't blame him if he did. She hated herself now too. She heard him speak though and it was clear that he wasn't about to leave her behind. She felt his arms around her and she couldn't help but wrap her arms around him and hold him close.

She felt tears start to roll down her cheeks as he spoke to her. She couldn't hold it back any longer. She started crying as he held her. "I'm sorry," she cried as she held him tightly, "This stress is killing me. I feel like I'm losing a bit of myself every day and I just can't take it. She's right: I'm weak. I hate that I'm weak but I just can't help it." She buried her face into his shoulder as she sobbed. "I said horrible things to her. I didn't mean them. I promise I didn't."
~
Gale smiled slightly when she spoke. He supposed she was right. Alice and Serena had initiated all of it, but that still wasn't an excuse for him to punch Cato like he had. "Don't apologize," he said gently as he held her, "You two were just upset. It was just a bad course of events. Don't blame yourself."

He paused when she asked if she could stay. He noticed that Cato hadn't come back either so he assumed that he had gone to see Serena. He didn't really want her being around Serena after everything that had gone down, and he definitely didn't want her around Cato as who knew what was going through the guy's head. He nodded slightly before kissing her head. "Of course you can," he whispered.

Alice nodded lightly when he told her not to blame herself and how she shouldn't be apologizing either. She still couldn't help feel it was her fault though. Both Serena and herself was at fault. In Alice's mind she felt that even though she clearly had no problem in snapping back at Serena, Serena had been the one to start it since she just couldn't let the subject of what Alice had done go, and continued acting like she was in the right and more authoritative with her, and thus she had been the one to keep pushing Alice about it, which in turn caused Alice to snap her already short fuse.

Shaking her head, she just tried to forget about it. She wasn't going to let Serena ruin her day any more. Even though the day was pretty much over. After asking Gale if she could spend the night with him in his room, she was relieved he agreed and didn't kick her back to her room or anything, where Serena was, and probably Cato as well. "Thank you..." she sighed softly in relief.

~

As Cato held Serena close and promised her that he wasn't going anywhere whether she wanted him to or not, he could feel her body shaking a bit as she struggled to hold back her tears. He let her turn around in his arms so she could hug him back, before his arms were again securely locked around her and holding her close. He ran his fingers through her hair softly as he listened to her start apologizing through her sobs, and now starting to agree with Alice and feeling guilty and weak now.

He sighed, holding her closer "Shhh, it's okay Serena. None of that matters - and Alice isn't weak. It takes a lot of strength for you to speak to all of Panem as strongly and confidently as you do. And it's like you said, you've won the hunger games before too, just like the rest of us, so you are strong" he assured her as he moved to sit down on her bed, gently pulling her with him so she sat on his lap "It's been a stressful day...you should try and just get some sleep, it'll help" he said as he kissed her head softly "I'll stay here with you."
