Rome, at this point, was waiting for Callum to snap. For him to stop holding back and to be the toxic asshole they all knew he was, even Oat. It wasn't that Rome wanted to ruin their night, or even that he wanted Callum to be upset. He just didn't want Oat to be fooled and to fall back into the same toxic relationship with Callum that he'd had before. Despite what Callum may have believed, Rome had never convinced Oat to break up with his boyfriend. He'd only listened to Oat's complaints, his issues in the relationship, and anyone with half a brain could see that their relationship was far from healthy. It was lost on Rome how ironic that was, considering his own relationship; as observant as he was, he was not logical.
He scoffed when Callum told him to share, shaking his head. Once again, thinking Rome was possessive over Oat. Thinking the two loved each other in a way that was more platonic. He ignored the comment, knowing when not to feed the beast, but glared at Callum as he continued to try to guilt-trip Oat. He opened his mouth to say something, when Jace spoke.
Rome whipped his head around to Jace so fast he almost broke his neck. He hadn't even noticed Jace walking up, too engrossed in his rage and contempt towards Callum. Rome's cheeks burned as Jace spoke, and his stomach churned. He didn't even know Jace and Callum were... friends, apparently, but he did know that Jace had absolutely no involvement nor knowledge of the situation he was placing himself in. And even without thinking about Oat, Rome was hurt. He and Jace were supposed to be friends. Rome even had a crush on him, for God's sake, although that was dying more and more every day. God, Rome was so sick of letting the men he thought he was in love with treat him like shit, just because Rome was always stupid enough to go running back.
"Fuck off, Jace," he bit out, in rare, perfect English. "Where is part involve you? I don't see it." He would have said more, but then Oat was speaking to Callum. And Rome subsequently wanted to rip his hair out. He loved Oates, really, more than anything in the world, but sometimes his friend just needed to stick up for himself. Oh, well. After the week he'd had, Rome was filled with enough rage to speak for them both.
"Oh my- Take fucking hint, Callum," he said, none too quietly. He was really past the point of caring. "He don't want you. You toxic. You are manipulate, and lie, and guilt-trip. Make change entire personality before talk Oat again. Honestly, think for second. 'Don't love you, Oat, don't love you, don't love you, O-M-G, why break up me? Why no want see me?' Think! Do not deserve him. Boyfriend, friend, to look at- you don't deserve. You know you don't deserve. You are embarrass yourself."
His head whipped around to Jace, fury on his features. "And you. Why you here? Where relevant you? Don't care if friend Callum, don't care if bored, don't. Care. You no better. 'Oh, I comfort friend for two minute, but when he talk feeling, I leave, because do not actually care him'. God, lucky you, no worry anymore because now cannot stand you. No crush," he clarified, shaking his head. "You want talk shit my boyfriend, but he never treat me bad as you. We are supposed be friend? Really? Don't think you know definition of word. I know definition, and I am Russian. You not deserve me, either. Toxic," he pointed at Jace, "toxic," and at Callum. "Fuck off, goodbye."
