Entities of darkness and fear have been seen in many cities, consuming people, buildings, and poisoning the very land itself. It has been discovered that living upon the sea is easiest, while living on the coast is easier than living further inland, where these creatures seem to gather. Who or what reigns over them is unknown, though legends of these creatures exist in several different religions. Whatever defeated them, though depending on the religion, is slightly different, is relatively the same for locations... a hidden island that rarely shows up in the same place twice, save for every century or two. What is on this island, however, is unknown.
