History:
Life Prior to GreenGlen: She was a tomboyish, science-loving only child who always loved to observe backyard wildlife and use big words. Her parents were distant, but not unloving for the most part. Of course, in high school she developed a crush on another girl, Rose Hackler. It took a while for her to gain the courage to confess her love to Rose, but nonetheless she did. Unfortunately, both of their families disapproved of their love, and each family swore that they would kick their daughters out when they turned eighteen. The two made a plan to prepare for this eventuality, and saved all the money they could. When the time came, they moved out of state to Colorado, where they went to college, and Irene even went to medical school. For a long while, Rose and Irene kept it secret that they were more than friends, but as times changed, so did they, and eventually they found community among others who weren't considered to be straight. They got married, lived in prosperity, and had a relatively good life together until Rose's death three years ago. Irene considers her life to be an ongoing success story, and refuses to slow down.
Life Working at GreenGlen: Her life would change when the hospital she worked the ICU in for most of her life laid her off, and in her job seeking she found GreenGlen. The rumors she didn't believe became confirmed. People were transforming, metamorphosing into something else entirely. She became warped in a different way from her patients, losing sight of what it was like to be marginalized and pathologized. She's not entirely mean, but her sympathy is very conditional.

Physical Appearance:
Appearance prior to Incident: Luka was an unassuming college student with short, dark brown hair and hazel eyes. He was shorter than most males his age and had a slender physique. His skin was pale and he had a small sprinkle of freckles across the bridge of his nose.

Appearance after Infection: Luka's hair turned the color of snow and grew in length until it rested just above his waist. Despite attempts to cut his hair, it grows back over-night; the same applies to if his claws or fangs were to be filed down, they would grow back to their prior length over-night. His eyes turned blue and the pupil grew slitted, which grants him excellent vision in the dark. His pale skin remained though the freckles and any hair excluding the hair on top of his head and his eyebrows disappeared and has not grown back. The most noticeable change was the appearance of furry ears and a tail coupled with sharpened fangs and claws. The ears and tail are white in color and are covered in a soft fur that he tries his best to keep groomed. His human ears seemed to have disappeared, leaving only smooth skin behind that he keeps hidden with his hair because he's self-conscious. His height technically did not change in regards to his body growing, but with the ears he gained an extra three inches. His physique remained slender and willowy with little muscle mass.

Daily Outfit Style: Luka's style generally consists of soft sweaters and jeans coupled with black or brown boots. The color of his sweaters range from soft pastels to more neutral tones though he generally avoids bright colors.

History:
Life Prior to GreenGlen: Luka lost both of his parents and newborn sister to a house fire when he was around seven years old. His room had been located near the front door and he was the first one found when responders arrived on the scene. Luka only suffered minor burns and had to be treated for smoke inhalation. The fire had started in his parents room from faulty wiring and his parents and little sister had been trapped by the flames. He was given to his only remaining family, his aunt and uncle who raised him along-side his cousins. His good grades landed him a scholarship to his dream college where he worked hard to pursue a teaching degree.

Life Living at GreenGlen: Luka had been exposed to the virus from one of his classmates though he wasn't aware of it and had gone home for winter break. One night he was complaining of a head-ache and went to bed early. The next morning his hair and eye color had changed and he had grown ears and a tail. His aunt had walked in to tell him breakfast was ready and shrieked when she had caught sight of him. Panicked by his appearance, his family locked him in the small guest bedroom he had been staying in and contacted the police, who then contacted GreenGlen. He was picked up shortly and spirited away to the facility.

HISTORY ☆ body, i'm more than my body

✦ lillian was born a bastard child. her mother -a german immigrant housekeeper- had been seduced and abandoned by the son of her employer -an entitled rich boy that got whatever he wanted. finding out she was pregnant, she begged him to help support her but was given an employment termination and money for an abortion. rather than get rid of her baby, she gave birth secretly in a different state, far from the man who threw her out. lillian grew up mostly being babysat while her mother worked two jobs to support them. she rarely saw her mother not stressed out but she can clearly remember that she would always smile around lillian no matter her mood. because of her mother's roots, they spoke german at home with some english here and there. this made school problematic as lillian was often mocked for no speaking properly and having a thick germanic accent to her speech. it caused her to strive harder in school and show her peers she was better than them. at twelve, something started to change. her mother began bringing home men -sometimes the same one over multiple times or different ones for only one night. she watched her mother -the bright hardworking woman- become drained and lifeless. her mother never greeted her with anything less than a smile, kept food on the table and bought lillian anything she needed but it was a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. she put two and two together at fourteen when she could her mom sobbing in the bathroom late at night, very drunk and blood staining her skirt. lillian never told her mom what she saw.

a year later, lillian began having bouts of dizziness, fatigue and "seeing" things that weren't there. she ended up fainting during her math class. her mom took her to the hospital where they did many tests, coming to the conclusion she had a brain tumor. it drove her mother to work more in order to pay for her expensive medications. it is also what caused her death when lillian was twenty years old, just entering med school. overwork. lillian never quite got over that, feeling that it was her fault for being sick that it killed her mother. she went through med school, graduating with a degree and working as an ob-gyn for women. helping deliver children and comforting women through abortions/miscarriages made her want her own child at twenty-seven, seeking out a fertility doctor who told her she was infertile due to her medications. unfortunately, her tumor also grew more around that time causing more symptoms and forcing her to take time off from her career. when the virus started to come around, lillian applied at greenglen for the money and possibilities of researching.

Clawed Hands: Jesse's hands are covered in an unknown black substance which makes his hands appear to be jet black, although it was found that his skin wasn't changing color, instead a black glass like substance was slowly growing and covered his arms. The black substance is known to turn itself into 'claws' at will, which Jesse can use to harm others. The black substance is said to feel like glass, and will break like glass under extreme pressure, but when Jesse moves his hands it bends with his movements as if it were skin. It's unknown why the substance does this.

Hallucinations: After being infected with the virus, Jesse started hearing voices and seeing things lurking in dark corners. At first he didn't know it was due to the virus and sought help in a psychiatrist, until one night one of his "hallucinations" attacked him. That was when his hands started to slowly turn black. He was later taken to Green Glen. The creatures that attack him have not been known to cause physical harm, but speed up the growth of the black substance.

The Switch: When under severe mental or physical stress he will experience a dramatic change in personality, becoming cunning, calculated, and usually violent. It is unusual that he experiences this change without turning to violence, so not much is known about this "other personality" due to a risk to doctors when attempting interviews. When the switch happens he experiences increased strength and agility, along with hyper sensitivity, and weakness to loud noises and bright lights. The after affects are usually not good, because he accidentally causes harm to himself when in a violent state.

He has wavy hair with grown out bangs that sweep to the right of his head, partially covering his right eye. His hair is considered messy most of the time, since he doesn't take the time to brush it. His face is oval shaped but a little closed to round, and his facial features are mostly soft and defined. He has naturally tanned skin, although he looks a little sickly due to sleep deprivation. He rarely slouches, but it's always clear that he's tired. His hands are pitch black and reflective, they slowly fade into his regular skin tone as it reaches his elbows. The substance can grow further up his arms, but it's usually broken down to below the elbow in case it causes harm if it goes further.

Long, messy brown hair, one blue eye and one dark blue eye. Tan skin, but pitch black hands that slowly fade back to his original skin color as it reaches his elbows. Usually wearing a dark red turtleneck, a puffy grey wind resistant jacket, black pants, and worn dark brown boots.

Daily Outfit Style: any sort of turtleneck, but his favorite is a blood red and slightly faded one. He always wears a sweatshirt, hoodie, or jacket, no matter how hot it is. Normally wears dark colored pants, and dark brown worn boots.

Personality: Jesse is kindhearted and optimistic, although he hides behind a cold emotionless shield. Jesse is prickly on the outside, and will push others away if given the chance. He only does this because he's afraid he might hurt them, or maybe even kill them, and in an attempt to prevent this he doesn't let them get close. Of course everyone has their weaknesses, and he can't resist a good friendship, although he will put up a fight before opening up to anyone. The only personality trait he lets through beside his sarcastic and dry humor is the protective side of him. Jesse will never hesitate to stand up for someone in need, even at the cost of his own well-being. Despite his somewhat cold personality, he is always overly optimistic and sometimes energetic (though physically tired).

History: Before being relocated to Green Glen, Jesse traveled a lot due to his job as a pilot. He rarely settled down in one place for more than a month and was always on the move, going going going while also keeping his athletic ability up with daily workouts. He was mostly alone, beside the occasional visiting of his sister, until one day he met Charlie, a flight attendant who happened to be on the plane he was piloting. After around a year of dating Jesse proposed to her on a flight to England.

After being happily married for around 2 years, Jesse came home from a piloting session claiming that he started hearing voices mid flight. Charlie was concerned of course, and would stick by his side as they tried to find out what was wrong with him. After a few tiring months of going doctor to doctor, one night on their way back to the car after going shopping for groceries, two people tried to mug them.

Unfortunately Jesse didn't understand that he had to fight against the screaming voices in his head, so he blacked out, killing everyone near him including his wife, Charlie. Jesse never talks about her anymore, but she's always there, lurking in the shadows and waiting for revenge.

Personality: Harper is a very strict individual with no fear of setting limits with her patients. However, sometimes that strictness can be hard to discern because she is a very adept conversationalist and she can learn a lot about a person by the way they converse with her. One thing that is fairly easy to notice in her conversations, though, is that she never talks about herself. She’s always turning the conversation back on the person she is talking to. Of course, that is because it’s how she’s been trained given that she is a psychiatrist. She makes her diagnosis by talking with a person. However, what makes Harper different is that she uses those techniques even in her day to day life; she never lets anyone get close to her and is sinfully independent in every task that she tackles.
Additionally, Harper isn’t the type of person to ask questions. Rather, Harper is the type of person who finds answers to questions. She is an adept researcher who wants to make a discovery that completely revolutionizes the science of the mind. She is willing to risk nearly anything to accomplish this task and her heart is stone towards anyone who tries to get in her way.

History: At twenty eight years of age, Harper Ellen Fenten has experienced a lot. Of all the aspects of her life, her childhood was the most uneventful. She grew up with two older brothers who were both highly athletic which meant her family spent a lot of time together watching sporting events - both ones that her brothers were involved in and ones that they weren’t. It meant she got to spend a lot of time with both her brothers and her parents in her youth. However, Harper herself was never athletically inclined, although she did try to play soccer in elementary school. It wasn’t really her thing. Her older brothers teased her about it, but her parents were very accepting of her being more of an intellectual rather than an athlete. Her mom was an artist and her dad was a music teacher.

When Harper became a freshman in high school, her younger brother moved out of the home meaning her life became a simple one with just her mom and her dad. However, this also posed a problem for the young girl as she was a frequent target of bullying at school for her smarts and lack of interest in anything else. Without her older brothers around, she lost a major deterrent. Harper never hated school more than while she was in high school. Then, a boy came along who didn’t seem interested in making fun of her. Unknowing of what this was like, the young Harper quickly fell in love and then proceeded to make what she will always call the biggest mistake of her life - she got pregnant. When his parents learned of their error, they moved away with him and Harper to this day has not found him. She lived the remainder of her high school years in shame as the sixteen year old who got pregnant, and when her son was born, she gave him up for adoption because she was not ready to give up her intellectual self.

Giving him up was her second greatest mistake and she has regretted it since she did it. Harper was quickly diagnosed with postpartum depression and then postpartum psychosis; she was seeing and hearing things that weren’t there and required restraints while hospitalized on multiple occasions. Though it took a while, they eventually found a medication combination that gave Harper her life back and she dove into her studies with a renewed gusto. Throughout all those years, Harper has also been keeping track of her son - Emmitt Graicer. His adopted family has never lived far from her and although they don’t know that she keeps an eye on her son, they did mention when she originally adopted to them that they would be willing to do an open adoption. Harper figures this isn’t too far from that, though she has promised herself that as long as Emmitt seems happy, she will not intervene in his life.

Then a disease struck that changed the world. Emmitt was one of those infected and Harper’s whole world went on a rapid spiral out of control. At first she thought her psychotic symptoms were returning, but then she realized it was just anxiety, albeit severe anxiety. After Emmitt’s adopted parents sent him to stay at a facility called Green Glen, Harper did everything in her power to learn more information about it. She applied to assist in psychological interventions within the facility and was granted a position. Harper never mentioned that Emmitt was her son and their last names are different because he was adopted at birth by a different family. She’s been employed there for about three months now, and is finding plenty of information for further research, all while silently making sure Emmitt is safe. If that secret was found out, though, Harper has no idea what she would do.

There are three main tasks doctors do throughout the day:
-6:10 to 9 AM: Daily check up. Basically just interviewing the patients to see how they’re feeling that day, if their symptoms have increased.
-9:50 AM to 3 PM: Set up tests and monitor the patient’s response to those tests. (Tests usually are a series of physical activities designed to test out what a patient can do with their symptoms. For example, a patient with wings might be given a series of hoops to fly through to test their flying abilities. Note that a patient is given a different test each day.)
-3:10 to 11:00: Perform experiments on the patients. Experiments involve subjecting each patient to different, usually harmful, stimuli, ij order to see how they’ll react. Usually this involves different things like dissection, exposure to increased or decreased temperatures, electrical shocks, etc. Like the tests, they differ each day.

Those are the main ones, though there are others, such as logging in information gathered from the day into the facility database at the end of the day. Psychiatry can definitely be a part of it though. Hope this was helpful.

If placed under stressful or uncomfortable circumstances, the patient's eyes will shift from their blackened state to one that is fully white. Not only does his eyes change, but his eyes will start to glow alongside it. The glow itself is incredibly bright and difficult to look at for very long. Once this starts, his horns appear to charge themselves with some kind of power, and when this power is unleashed, it has the ability to send everything in the room flying away from him, as well as cause a great amount of damage to the surrounding area. Luckily, the charging itself takes about a 20 seconds -- giving a window of time to either stun the patient or place him in an unconscious state.

He has two black, demon-like wings that have taken up place on his back. They mostly drag behind him, useless.

Daily Outfit Style: He never cared much for putting together a good-looking outfit, even before turning into a monster. He likes to wear baggy clothes, especially ones that are a few sizes too large. He prefers hiding as much of himself as he can, so he often wears hoodies and pants if he's able -- both of which he's practically drowning in. Although, nowadays, clothes are a tough one considering his wings. Now, he just wears one of those long, white nightgowns which has been sliced up in the back to fit his wings. At least it covers his body, for the most part.

Personality: 00976 would very much rather not be here. He does everything he can to escape unnoticed. He's a quiet person, his voice always sounding like more of a whisper at all times. He is a danger, that is what he's been told and what he continues to tell himself, so he can more often than not be found alone. His mind whirs like an overloaded machine, often thinking the worst of any situation. He has a tendency to stress himself out on his own which has, in the past, caused his eyes to start to glow and for his newfound horns to be set off. For this reason, 00976 is more isolated for the safety of others and to keep the building intact. 00976 is more of a shell of how he was before.

Life Prior to GreenGlen: Rowen was born to a pair of loving and supportive parents. They loved him greatly, doing anything they could to showcase it. School was the hard part, a place that Rowen had hated. Kids enjoyed teasing him -- except for one. His neighbor, a girl with hair that reminded Rowen of fire -- like a comet. She was an energetic and cheerful girl, happy to introduce games to play as well as indulge Rowen in his love for the stars and other space-related topics. The two were close and spent as much time as they could around each other, their bond deepening as the years went by. It was in high school that they both asked each other out on accident. However, when senior year came to a close, and their high school graduation flew by, that was when everything came crashing down for Rowen. He and his girlfriend had gone off to the same college, which unbeknownst to them had gradually become infected. It was a few weeks into the semester when Rowen noticed his girlfriend was acting..off. But, Rowen had felt a bit off himself, his nervousness really getting to him lately. He had brushed it off as the two of them just needing to adjust to college and the change it brings. A couple days after, though, Rowen noticed his girlfriend was absent from a class they both shared. It was odd considering she was never one to miss a class. When the class had ended, Rowen quickly made his way to his girlfriend's residence. Upon walking in after not getting response to his repeated knocks., Rowen was shocked to find his girlfriend lying on the floor, blood pooled around her. Multiple white feathers stuck out from her arms, legs, and even her neck. Her fire red hair had streaks of white in it. If you looked closely, her eyes even appeared slit like that of a cat's. Rowen couldn't understand any of it. His legs had given out underneath him. He can't remember what happened after that. He must have blacked out, because when he awoke, his hair had already changed to blue. Ultimately, it was a mutual friend that had stumbled across them, and surely reported the incident. It wasn't long after that where Rowen was shipped off to GreenGlen. It wasn't very difficult, after all, to see that he was an absolute monster now.

Life Living at GreenGlen: Rowen is often poked and prodded, which usually has to result in having him restrained since he will use his claws against the doctors in an act of self-defense from his view. He's miserable a good majority of the time, wallowing in quiet. He doesn't like being viewed as an experiment for the doctors, seen as a simple lab rat. He fears them greatly, and will break down in tears at times when one approaches him. He wishes that someone would save him.

That morning Autumn woke up and the darkness that she had lived with her whole life was gone, she could see. She could see her room and her legs laying under her lavender comforter, her bookshelf and the desk where she did her homework every night. And she could see when her mother burst into her room after hearing Autumn's surprised cries, and she could see when her mother froze in place suddenly, cracks sounding through the room as dark gray stone spread across her mothers skin and clothes.

Her father was the second victim seconds later and then a policeman after him once the neighbors had reported hearing Autumn's screams echoing from the house. GreenGlen swooped in among all the chaos and spirited Autumn away to the facility where she was forced to wear a blindfold and her world once again faded into darkness.

Weaknesses: his sister victoria who ran away from home at seventeen. she was the first person he came out to, she was cool with it, now she's gone. Marianne abandoned him, leaving him alone with parents who didn't really love him
Likes: reading, studying... he quite likes Frankenstein and reads it often. he considered taking the name victor, but chose Alan instead, after Alan Turing. besides, victor was a shit dad and extremely selfish. marianne also liked that book, the two would read it often. and now, after the surgurys, after they left him, he feels more like the creature.
Dislikes: bright lights, his parents being mad at him, getting missgendered (doesn't happen much though nowadays)
Hobbies: what are those? all he has time for is work, and being better than mari so his parents loved him more. but they're gone now.

Life Prior to GreenGlen: Alan is studying at the John Hopkins University, and he's going into neuroscience.
Life Working at GreenGlen: Alan is one of the few interns working at GreenGlen. (possibly because of his parents pulling a few strings, they always want him to report back on everything... which he does.) as an intern, he usually is assigned to shadow a doctor, helping with taking notes.
