Hwang Eun-Geom
give me the pain, I'll hold it for you
Thank you. Those were two words he'd heard many times before; Eun-Geom had always been much more of a giver than a taker in any relationship, after all. It was the kind of thing that becomes normal to you over time, dismissable. It had been a long while since they'd affected him in any real way. As he watched her wipe the remainders of her tears away, though, those words eased the way his heart had been clenching ever since her sobs had begun.

After that, their conversation ebbed away, their voices only occasionally piercing the comfortable silence between them to share a little of nothing much about themselves. As the night wasted away, Eun-Geom's bottle of beer had finally been drained. And Soo-Yun... well, she definitely could drink a lot, that was for sure. A handful of bottles, as empty as could be, were scattered. Some were near Eun-Geom rather than her, in an attempt on his part to save her from looking like a complete drunkard. Her slowly slumping-over form, though, was beginning to actively work against that.

One part of him was slightly amused at her antics but another, larger side was growing concerned. He had tried β€” admittedly rather weakly, with today being the day it was β€” to prevent her from drinking more, but she was quite confident in her tolerance. A little too confident, clearly. She'd gotten drunk before he'd had the mind or chance to ask for her address so he could take her home. Unfortunately, a quick glance at his watch told him that home was likely just where she should be going.

"Soo-Yun?" He opened, bending over to try and meet her eyes, only to realize they were half-closed. "Soo-Yun, are you okay?" A weird moan. Eun-Geom pursed his lips. There were two next courses of action he could take, at least, without abandoning her to her fate. Get her a hotel room somewhere, or take her to his house. He wasn't a fan of unfamiliar people in his house, honestly, but the first option seemed less safe the more she drunk. Quietly, he got up to pay for their drinks, gaze constantly straying to her vigilantly as he did. By the time he returned, her head was fully on the counter, any resistance to sleep evidently gone.

Eun-Geom hesitated as his gaze ran over her, before finally making up his mind. Yeah, even a hotel might end up being a bad idea for her. With a sigh, he tried calling her name again, hand tapping on her bare shoulder. Wasn't she cold? Staring at her nearly reactionless figure, it seemed like it would be difficult to get an answer out of her. He slipped off his cardigan and put it loosely on her anyway. At that, she finally shifted, head snapping up to stare up at him dazedly.

"Let's go," he whispered, tone akin to one people used when speaking to a child, "can you get up?" A blink. Two. At least she seemed to understand what he was saying. With yet another groan, she struggled to her feet, and he put an arm around her just in time for her not to fall right back to a sitting position. Almost painfully slowly, in the same vein, he managed to get her into his car. As he shut the door and started the engine, Eun-Geom could only be in slight awe at what a day it'd been.
