Freyacre: Shadow Ark Rebellion
In another universe, in another time, lies the country of Freyacre. This one portion of land in a world unrelated to ours, has been at peace for the last hundred years. Once, long ago, they were one natcion, under one ruler, until civil war broke out and divided the land into four countries and a peace treaty was signed after the fifty-six year war. For decades, the people fought, died, and raised children who fought and died, and the circle continued. When it became evident that there would never be an end to the suffering and death, the four leaders – Hishmal, Dinara, Tusket, and Lornea – came together and signed the truce that ended it.

In the signed upon agreement, the residents of their future countries would be confined to where they live, never to traverse to the other countries again without a pass issued by their leaders deeming approval was granted. For the sake of peace, they left one area – Basinmoor – unclaimed as it touched all four lands and provided a sort of neutral ground for each country to be able to conduct business. To live in Basinmoor meant you belonged nowhere. It was little more than a trade center, most folks traveling out with fresh wares from their own countries, spending a few weeks in a tent or lean too shack, selling everything they had brought before heading home.

And so, the next hundred years continued. Lightfalls, the richest kingdom (they are not a democracy here) in the land, retained the north and all the coal mines. The luxury of being wealthy has given them the ability to cultivate several villages around their central town, which house miners and sea farers, hunters and peasants. Their main specialty is steam power, using the coal to convex the steam into energy for an unimaginable assortment of developments and inventions.

Embermount, a city of middle-class folks, is surrounded by walls of mountains. The natural barriers protect the city from outside intrusion, with a single road leading through the perilous mountains. Unfortunately for them, this land has no lakes or rivers, so the city is centered around the coast, and thrives on clocks, gears, and springs.

Sungrave is just that. The desert is hot, the sun hotter. Traveling across the sands has claimed its fair share of lives, and only the most experienced pass it with any regularity. Due to this, the country itself has little do with the rest of the world. They have developed solar power, but have kept this secret close to their hearts for a number of decades. Some of the other countries have seen, but do not own, any of this technology. The people here thrive, but to all outsiders they are a mystery.

Lastly, we have Blackwich, a junker town to the south. Many items end up in Basinmoor’s brackish waters, rushed down the continent by the swift flowing currents. Centuries ago, it was a dump ground for the united country, but when war broke out, many who wished not to participate moved there. Over time, a city evolved. They have a combination of technology from the other countries, as they have reverse engineered much of the broken tools, appliances and other technology they found there. Now, two cities have evolved. Blackwich is the capital, with Rustpond being built on the other side of the junkyard. Originally, it was just on the land, bumping up against the water's edge, but as populations grew, the need for more houses did as well, and soon the city found ways to build stilted houses on the water. Now, half the town resides over open water.

All of the cities, except for Lightfall, have some form of democracy. Sungrave is ruled by a council, Embermount is ruled by a King and Queen that use a system of democracy when making decisions – you might think of them as figureheads who break ties. Lastly, Blackwich is full democracy, with mayors and senators, though it's very lax and has very little rules outside of those needed to move between country to country.

Now that you know about the towns, and some of the history, lets jump to the background of our story.

Lightfalls may sound like a cheery town, but the truth is they have been building an army. For the last fifty years they have worked in quiet fierceness to build an army bigger, and more advance, then the rest of the continent. Their current ruler, King Tiras, has promised his people that before he dies, the country will be under one leader again. A revolution has begun under his nose, with people starting to spread rumors to the other countries that they need to be prepared.

In Basinmoor, a group of rebels has started to form, a combination of people trying to convince their personal governments to listen, and if not the government the people. A revolution and a war is coming. It's time to tear down the walls, break through the prejudice and protect those you love, because before long, black smoke from coal burning and stacks of steam may be filling the air as those around you fall never to rise again.

Which side will you be on?

General Plot:
Our story will start in Basinmoor. The daughter of the famous inventor, family to the royals, has made her way to the neutral zone to ply her father's wares. Unbeknownst to her, she will soon be the victim of a kidnapping at the hand of the rebel alliance that has formed against the Lightfalls ruler Tiras Methios. They intend to use the high valued prisoner to bring a spot light over their cause. The story will focus around at least 2 groups (more if people show interest in playing move factions/kingdoms). The two minimum groups will be the Shadow Ark Rebellion, or better known as our rebels rising up against the tyranny that will soon engulf the country under the War of the Century. Our second group will be various members of the Lightfalls Kingdom such as the King and Queen, members of the militia, commoners, etc.

General Story Line:
I'm going to say I'd like to do about 10 chapters at one chapter a month. This can be shorter or longer depending on how quickly the RP moves and the frequency of post. This time line allows for everyone to have a life, while setting an expectation of 1-2 scene replies a week. There can be multiple scenes going on at once during a chapter if needed - which I'm thinking if there's enough interest will be possible.

Chapter 1 - The Beginning Ara arrives in Basinmoor. Arkers are waiting for her and execute kidnapping.
Chapter 2 - High Alert: This will be a short time jump to when Lightfalls and Embermoor become aware that Ara, the kidnapped daughter of Eirave Philodendron, is missing. This chapter will cover how Firave has been given pass to Lightfalls to search for his daughter and essentially goes straight to King Tiras and ask his assistance in finding her. There can also be a scene for the Ark to meet and discuss what to do with the woman they have secured, unaware that its already been noticed that she is missing.
Chapter 3 - Discovery: Ara explores the Ark and gets to know the people, hears their stories and reasons for doing why they do. If you're an Arker, your job in this chapter will be to convince Ara to join the cause willingly. Meanwhile, should the king have decided to send soldiers they and Firave will arrive in Basinmoor. If the king ddoes not agree, Firave will arrive alone seeking his daughter, while soldiers will arrive to investigate the rumors of uprising. Possibility of 1-3 scenes, if not all roles are filled or there's not enough players for the scenes, things will happen "off screen" which will be described at the beginning of the next chapters intro.
Chapter 4 - First Light: Arkers set out on a mission to steal intel from the soldiers that have arrived in Basinmoor. Highly likely fight scene.
Chapter 5 - Aftermath: After the battle, two scenes are set to happen with the aftermath of skirmish. Soldiers discuss plan to inform King Tiras, and movements of the regiment. Arkers will discuss what, if any, intel they were able to steal and a course of action. Ara to participate but reasons why will be based on previous chapters outcomes.
Chapter 6 - Informed: Tiras and his officials war pow wow. Tiras receives the report of hostile rebels, makes plans with what he wants to happen. Firave will have stayed behind to look for his daughter. Ara having earned some freedom points with the Arker's by being a more agreeable prisoner than expected is allowed to leave the compound and explore the city a bit. Firave and Ara find each other. Firave taken prisoner too so he can't spoil their plans. Possible scene count 2.
Chapter 7 - Respite: This scene is just a downtime scene. We can pick ideas for this scene when we are in Chapter 6 so it can be based on what things have happened and influenced the story.
Chapter 8 - Dispatch: Lightfalls scene: the Lightfall militia prepares to return to Basinmoor to root out the rebellion. Flexible scene, can be either them leaving Lightfalls, the trip to Basinmoor, or arrival. Arkers: Firave and Ara decide whose side they are on. Depending on what they decide, they either will or will not warn Arkers about the militia that was sent back to Lightfalls.
Chapter 9 - Resolution: This is the climax of our story. The militia will attempt to raid the Ark. Definite fight scene. Will decide whether the revolution is snuffed out, or just beginning.
Chapter 10 - What Comes Next: This will be the wrap up chapter - Firave and Ara decide whether to stay and support the rebellion or return to Embermoor. Arkers decide what to do. Lightfalls King Tiras finds out results of mission - does he have good news or bad news? Were they successfully removed as a threat, or is the revolutionaries triumphant?

Of course, this is a very very very flexible/basic/skeletal outline. Nothing is hard set in stone, everything is able to be changed to fit the story as I believe in letting the story guide itself.

If any of this sounds like something you would be up for, feel free to start asking questions. I will be posting more updates as I finish fleshing out more sections of information and lore.
