Realistic or Modern Fixers: Japan Edition

Characters

Candy was missing, Asa was high as shit still, and everything was a fucking mess. As soon as they got home he found himself locking himself in the bathroom to throw up the contents of his stomach. He took a cool shower to help come down from the high but it still wasn't making him feel better. His body was flying, his brain was in another dimension, and he was trying to ground himself. All he knew was hated to see Akari's face sad. So when he found himself sitting next to her so she could tend to his wounds he couldn't help but smile sadly at her. "I'm uh, I'm sorry for rushing off like that. I'm hoping we can stop getting ourselves mixed up in Crow's shady shit from now on, maybe live on the straight and narrow?"

As she continued to bandage his already heavily bruised arms he let out a long sigh. "You know, I used to get high regularly. Just shit faced, it didn't really matter 'cuz I didn't have anyone in my life, y'know? But this time it feels different. I feel like I let you down, and I hate it. I only ever want you proud of me, and I only want to see you smile. No more crying because of shit like this."

Crow came by and asked if they wanted to come save Candy but all Asa really needed was to stay put and recover, even though all he wanted to do was rush in with Crow and save her. Crow seemed to understand Asa was in no condition to move, and he made note that he'd have to apologize for not being useful to Candy later. "I'm sorry you had to see me like this, and I'm sorry I can't be useful for Candy. If you don't want to marry someone like me I-I'd completely understand." Tears burned in his eyes, it was clear he was still higher than a kite. He knew that Akari didn't want to leave him, she came all that way to save her.

“You didn’t let me down Asa.” Akari made sure to turn to him and look him in the eyes as she spoke. Of course it killed her to see him this way, but it wasn’t because of any wrong doing on his part. “I’m upset with myself, I’m upset that I was so scared of handling this that you felt the need to run off and handle it for me. I’m both flattered and annoyed about it. But above all I’m just happy you’re alive Asa, that it’s over.” As he spoke about his past and his hopes for the future Akari couldn’t help but tear up a little. When he said no more crying it caused her to let out a curt chuckle and a small smile. “Too late.”

Crow came in asking if they were coming and while Akari felt bad, Asa had gone through enough tonight and Akari wasn’t going to leave him here alone. Candy was important to everyone, Asa especially, so she knew it would kill him but it was for the best to stay back. The others all quickly left and Asa and Akari were alone in the quiet house.

That is until Asa started up again.

“A-Asa! Slow down.” Akari sighed and wrapped her arms around his torso as she basically forced herself into his arms, cuddling up close against him and pressing her forehead into the crook of his neck. “You cannot shake me ever again. You have no reason to be sorry. I’m sorry! I’m sorry that you’re going through this right now because of the man who unfortunately is the reason I exist. Im sorry I didn’t get there sooner. Im sorry I walked out on you all that time ago. Okay? I have a million things to be sorry about and you have none!” She squeezed him gently and moved to plant a soft kiss on his jawline, “Asa I love you. Every bit of you. Of course I want to marry you, but maybe we redo that conversation when you’re not in your current state, yeah?”

Akari pulled back and wiped away his tears before standing and reaching out her hands to help him off the couch, “Now we might not be going to get Candy. But you and I can make sure the team has a good warm meal to return home to once they get her back. Care to help me?”

Candy

“P-Please just stop.” Candy cried as she spit out a mouth full of bloody water. As soon as she woke up in this fucking room she was being tortured. They were trying to make her spill information about the group, about Crow… anytime she refused they would hit her or throw buckets of ice cold water at her face. She was tied to a chair in the middle of the room while they spoke at the back of her head, the only person she could see was the man doing all the actual damage. It only took about fifteen minutes for them to realize she wasn’t going to tell anyone anything and for a moment she thought she was safe, but oh boy was that far to naive. No at that point the door opened and closed behind her and Candy heard a voice speak up that she knew… Crows mom. Was she who kidnapped her?!

That’s when it got brutal. The woman spent her time berating Candy, telling her all the plans she had to slowly kill her for even trying to be with her son. How unworthy she was. Then came all the jabs, both physical and emotional. This woman knew EVERYTHING about her, her parents, how they died, Asas history and their friendship from childhood. She knew about Lee… she knew about the miscarriage and most of all… she knew it wasn’t really a miscarriage at all. She just kept saying over and over again how terrible she was, how disgusting and how unworthy. Finally Candy snapped.

“I know I am!” She screamed, tears running down her face as the man who was about to slap her for what would have been probably the thousandth time was told to wait by Crows mother. “I don’t deserve him. Crow is an amazing person who would do anything for anyone, who is kind and loving and funny. He’s too good for anyone. Let alone me…”

The blood curdling laugh made Candy jump, the woman was standing right next to her now, one hand on Candys shoulder while the other handed a gun to her torturer. “I’ll make sure to let my son know all about the woman he thought he loved, and who she really was. And how she killed herself out of shame when confronted about her past.”

Just then the door burst open and Candy heard another voice she knew oh so well. Only this one was a voice that made her start sobbing uncontrollably, a small wave of relief washing over her as he called out and asked if she was okay. “N-No.” she managed to whimper before using her weight to throw herself to the side and down to the ground in order to get the woman’s hand off her shoulder. She landed with a thud and let out a groan but at least now she wouldn’t be in the way.

Daisuke Tanaka

“Listen I’ll be super chill and laid back in the car I promise. I’m just so done being left out of the action!” Daisuke pleaded with Zuki and gave her the most pitiful look he could muster as she scolded him. “Plus I want to make sure everyone is okay! It’s torture sitting in that bed wondering if everyone is alive. So if you’re going so am I.”

They were off moving before they could argue anymore about it anyways. “You won’t have to worry about me, I will be here waiting for you and doing nothing more than that okay? I’m basically going to be Crow! I’m going to sit here and listen for anything bad and be ready to send in Shadow if needed. I promise.” He understood her worry but he wasn’t going to break, he knew how scary it was to see someone you love as in bad of shape as he was but he was on the mend! If he had stayed home he would have had a fucking panic attack, sitting back waiting to hear what happened with Asa earlier was already hard enough, he wouldn’t be able to handle round two of that fucking anxiety.

They pulled up to the large home and Crow was already in motion. Frankly it was fairly impressive to see him like this and when it wasn’t inappropriate Daisuke filed away the thought to tell him such. “Be safe.” He adjusted to lean over and kiss Zuki on the cheek quickly before she climbed out behind Crow and Daisuke shut the door behind her.

Daisuke looked over at Emi and Shadow. He wanted to ask her about how everything went earlier, the two of them hand been friends forever and he was worried… she seemed off. And no one really shared the full details of what happened back at her fathers manor. “Hey kid, you okay?”

Kage

Kage didn’t leave Emi’s side ever since they were reunited outside of her childhood home. She was shaken, understandably so, and he didn’t want her to feel alone. Eventually she would want to talk a little more about what happened and when that time came he would make sure to be there. The others all came up with a plan to help Candy after they returned to the house and Kage silently agreed before following Emi upstairs to help find a weapon for Crow since he normally didn’t carry one of his own.

When she spoke up, he was stunned for a moment. “I was actually thinking that as well. I think for all intensive purposes… Shadow should die taking down the Suits.” The idea of it oddly made him smile as he looked over at Emi. This one small woman changed his entire world. Before her he never saw a future, never really wanted one either but now? He wanted to give her the world, he wanted to give her an amazing and exciting life, although one that wasn’t dangerous. Shadow was a wanted man, though no cop besides Akari ever actually knew who he was. Just the alias the hitman used. It would be really nice to leave it all behind after this was settled. “I-It’ll be an adjustment. But-I think you’re right. I want to. I just want to be Kage. Once I figure out who that is of course.”

Kage chuckled sheepishly and found a gun that was easy enough to handle for Crow before walking over to Emi and smiling down at her. “Now let’s go save Candy so we can all get this mess left behind us yeah?”

The crew all made their way out, except Asa and Akari who stayed behind to tend to his current state. The plan was for only Crow and Zuki to head in while the others were simply there for support and backup if needed. They were parked for maybe 3 seconds when Crow jumped out of the van and ordered Zuki after him, the two quickly making their way into the house while the others remained behind in the dark vehicle.

Daisuke was the first to speak up and Kage felt himself tense slightly, reaching over to lace his fingers through Emi’s and glancing over at Daisuke with a look that hopefully told their friend it was a sore subject.

Sunny

The thought of Shadow dying after this mission was, well, kind of sad? Shadow was a grumpy individual who made sure everyone was safe, he trained Emi in both self defense and with a gun so she wasn't completely useless, and he was an integral part of the team...But that was the key word: was. Shadow was just a front, now everyone was getting to see the real him like she got to see him and it was amazing. He was amazing and he deserved to just be himself, and Emi wanted to stand by his side to see how he could grow as a person and just figure out who he is. As Kage. So it was nice that he seemed on board with telling everyone.

They got the crew together save for Asa and Akari and headed out. Emi sat in the front seat next to Kage as he drove the van, watching as Zuki and Crow climbed the fence and went to Candy's rescue. She was still processing everything that had happened today, so when Daisuke asked how she was doing she tensed up. Thankfully Kage held her hand and allowed her to relax a little. "I had to kill my dad to save Akari, so it's been kind of rough. If I get arrested do you mind being my lawyer?" Despite having committed crimes before for the Fixers this was her biggest, and the likelihood of anyone finding out it was Emi was slim to none, there was little evidence that pointed to her. But there was always the chance that they'd put the blame on her.

"If I get locked up do you want to be my pen pal?" She looked from Daisuke to Kage with a small smile and hand squeeze. Talking wasn't going to make anything better, she was just going to try to move on.

Crow

While Crow's heart wavered at the sight of Candy he was relieved when she threw herself to the ground. That allowed Zuki to shoot another dart at the large guard in the room, leaving nothing but his mother left who opposed them. Quickly Crow tackled his mother to the ground to knock the gun out of her hands. "You know, I was fine with the idea of killing you earlier." The woman wasn't built for a fight so it didn't seem like she was going to struggle, her weapon of choice was intimidation and threats. That wouldn't work on him, not after kidnapping Candy. "I don't know what your game plan here was, but it's over with." Crow yanked his mother up by the collar of her shirt, Zuki quickly shoving her into a chair to allow Zuki to tie her up.

"The cops are already on their way. I informed them of what was happening, I've sent them all of the evidence I have against you...which is everything. You're done, mom. You've killed people, tortured people, framed people. But it's over now. You'll be locked away for life, which is exactly what you deserve. You deserve to rot in prison." This was vengeance at its finest form. For his dad, for all of his friends, for Candy's parents, for Candy. Death was an easy way out and he was not going to give her that pleasure.

As Crow moved to Candy to gently pick her up and cradle her in his arms he moved towards the door, freezing as his mom started to speak. "You should know what she's done Crow, you deserve better than her. Ask her about the baby, and whether or not she can give you the future you deserve." He tensed slightly, but he quickly shook it off. "Candy is my future, whatever happened in the past is in the past. If she wants to talk about it, then I'll listen. But I love her and she's the woman I want to be with." Crow smiled down sweetly at Candy to reassure her, and with that he left the office.

The cops were on their way and they had to get out of there before they were caught. Crow held Candy close and moved quickly throughout the house, running down the stairs and pressing a button to open the gate. By the time they ran out of the house and down the path the gate was opened, allowing them to run straight for the van. As Zuki opened the door Crow climbed in with Candy in his arms, gently placing her in a seat. "Hey, are you okay? Do you need a hospital? Asa's not quite in the position to fix you up right now." Crow looked her over and grimaced, she looked rough. It was all his fault, he should have anticipated something like this would have happened. "I-I am so sorry Candy." Tears welled in his eyes as he finally let down his tough act. Candy didn't deserve any of this, she was the best thing to have ever happened to him.

Luna

Despite Daisuke saying she didn't have to worry that was all Zuki did. He was the most important thing in the world to her and the thought of a guard finding the car, killing all of them, it was stuck on replay in her head. The rational side of her knew that Shadow and Emi were perfectly capable of protecting him, that they would drive off before anyone got hurt, but the fear was still on the back of her mind. Thankfully the peck on the cheek was able to calm her down, and it let her focus on the important mission at hand. "You too." With that said she was able to follow Crow into the house without worry, upstairs and to his moms office. With each guard tranqued they dropped to the floor and allowed them to infiltrate the room where they held Candy.

The scene was not for the feint of heart and she could only imagine what was going through Crow's mind. A gun to Candy's head, a large guard who had been clearly beating the shit out of their friend, and his demon of a mother. Without hesitation Zuki shot another dart at the large guard and watched him drop just as Candy forced herself to the ground. Just as Crow tackled his mother Zuki ran to Candy to assess her condition, a deep scowl taking over her face. "Oh, Candy. We're going to get you out of here, okay?" Zuki pulled a hunting knife from her combat boot and cut Candy free, helping her to sit up before she had to go help Crow.

It was now Crow's mother turn to be tied to a chair, and low and behold Crow had a plan all along. Rotting in jail...a much more fitting punishment for the leader of a huge crime organization. Crow picked Candy up and they were on their way to leave before his mother spoke up. Her words were just as cruel as she was, but they didn't seem to phase Crow. With their parting words they were off to the van.

Down the stairs, through the house, out the gate, and they were home free. Zuki pulled open the van door to let Crow and Candy inside, once they were in she hopped in and shut the door. Just as she did the sirens were approaching and made her scowl once more. "Let's get home before we get arrested or questioned just for being here." With that said she looked over at Daisuke and gave him a small smile. "Thanks for being good and staying put."

Doc

"My current state is completely fine." Asa spoke like a pouting child as she said they would speak later, sniffling through the tears and wiping them away. Akari was saying he didn't let her down at all, but he felt like he did. He was stupid, ran off by himself like some fucking superhero, and got himself into this mess. It wasn't her fault he ran off, he just...he wanted to be the hero for once and he failed. All he did was fuck everything up for everyone and even got Candy kidnapped. Hell he didn't even get to go help save Candy! She was like a sister to him, and here he was fucking that up too.

"Youdon'thave tobesorry." The words were slurred together as his arms wrapped around her, smiling slightly down at her through his sorrows. Her kiss seemed to have stopped the tears and he took a deep, calming breath as he hugged her tighter to her. She was his rock, even in his current state she was able to ground him and help him see things more clearly. "I love you too, Akari." He planted a warm kiss on her forehead and finally was able to relax a bit.

That is, until she stood up and helped him to his feet. "Cooking? You do know that none of us guys cook, right?" For the first time all day he let out a small chuckle. It reminded him of when her and Emi moved into the Fixers house, and how they scolded them for getting takeout for every meal. "I'd like if Candy could actually eat the meal, so I'll let you take the lead on that. You just tell me what I can do to help, alright?" Doc slung his arm around Akari's shoulders with a small smile and escorted her out of the room and to the kitchen.

Candy

Everything felt numb, Candy couldn’t tell if it was from how cold she was or from how hurt she was both emotionally and physically. Zuki was quickly in front of her to cut her free from the ropes that held her to the chair but Candy still needed help to sit up when with the use of her arms. Elsewhere in the room she could hear Crow yelling at his mother but she didn’t have the nerve to turn and look at the woman who had just been berating her. Thankfully it was soon enough over and Zuki was handling tying the woman to a chair while Crow was coming over to help her. The moment she was in his arms Candy let out another small cry. It was such a relief that he was here but it also hurt to look at him. It only got worse when his mother chimed up from where she was tied up to wait for the police.

The words made Candy tense up, her arms wrapping a little tighter around him and her hands grasping his shirt tightly. She wasn’t wrong. Crow did deserve better. She couldn’t give him the life he deserved. They had never had the conversation about kids but… the thought made her heart drop to her stomach. But then Crow spoke up and caused her to look up at him in shock. His smile was so sweet that it managed to warm her up a little and she even found herself returning a small smile of her own. “I love you.”

With that the three of them made their way out of the home and out to the car that was waiting for them. Candy didn’t really notice the others at first because she was so out of it as Crow placed her on the seat. “I-I’m okay. Just a little rough around the edges.” She attempted to joke but talking hurt, her face was so raw and her body was still shaking from how cold and wet she was. “I just want to go home.” She leaned into his side when he apologized and simply shook her head hoping he would get the message.

Sherlock

Asa seemed to be slowly calming down a bit and that was a good thing. Akari was worried that if he kept working himself up they would be stuck in the loop of sad for hours. He kissed her on the forehead and she let out a small chuckle, he may have had some heightened emotions going on but he was still the Asa she knew and loved. “Oh please of course you’re not cooking. Enough people in this house have faced death today.” Akari laughed as Asa tossed an arm around her and began leading her to the kitchen alongside him. Hopefully this could be the start of them getting back to the way they once were. She missed the sarcastic quips between the two of them and the conversations they had, they had been getting better recently but still awkward. Now things felt different… better. Oddly enough.

“All you need to do is sit there and look cute okay? Maybe taste test. Oh and drink some water, flush some of that shit out of your system.” Akari smiled over at him as she pulled a glass down from the cupboard and filled it before turning her attention to pulling some ingredients from the fridge. “Fuck you can tell Shadow has been doing the grocery shopping. Damn. I think I can pull together a decent meal though.” She started boiling some water and chopping some ingredients, it seemed they had the makings of a fairly decent ramen meal so that was what she was going with but it definitely wouldn’t be very elevated, more bachelor pad style.

As she cooked Akari occasionally checked her phone for any updates on Candy. Eventually she got one from Daisuke to let them know they were safe and in route home. “They got her, they’re on the way back.” She locked the phone and placed it back in her pocket before looking over at Asa again. “So it’s over? They said the police were on the way to Crows mom and that all the evidence was sent over. Do you really think it’s done?” It was hard to believe and the cop in her couldn’t help but think about the fact that they would likely have to face some questioning themselves. Technically everything they had done could be covered as self defense but for some reason it all still made her nervous. It didn’t feel possible for them all to be in the clear.

Daisuke Tanaka

Daisuke caught the look Shadow gave him and adjusted slightly in his seat before looking away to try and show he was going to drop the subject. Only Emi spoke up anyways and Daisuke was shocked by what she had to say. He knew that Emi knew how to use a gun and had been training with Shadow but the idea of that girl actually using a gun against someone was just so insane to him. They grew up together and part of Daisuke would always see Emi like a little sibling. “You’re not going to get arrested Em. But if you did, yes, of course I would.” Daisuke gave her a reassuring smile before looking past her over to his friend with a sympathetic look.

Emi returned her focus to Shadow and Daisuke returned his to the window, watching the front gate for signs of trouble or of their friends and his wife. It felt like ages before the gate slowly began to open and Daisuke finally let out a sigh or relief when he saw it was their people and not any members of the Suits, well technically.

The door opened and Crow loaded Candy into the car. She was soaking wet and shaking, she looked rough for lack of better explanation. Whatever happened in the fairly short time she was gone must have been really intense… His attention moved from Candy to Zuki as she climbed in and closed the door, mentioning that they needed to get moving. Daisuke reached forward and slapped the seat Shadow sat in to tell them they were good to move before reaching out to Zuki. Daisuke room her hand and gently pulled her down in the seat next to him.

“Glad to have you back love.” Daisuke wrapped an arm around her shoulder and pulled her close, resting his own head against hers as they all sat in the quiet darkness of the van. “I for one am really looking forward to going more than 24 hours without one of us almost dying, how about you?”

Shadow;Kage

When Emi stated everything so simply to Daisuke, Kage couldn’t help but stare at her in a bit of shock that she was so blunt. “Emi…” He sighed and reached over to pat her head gently before dropping his hand and listening to her speak. Thankfully Daisuke spoke up before Kage had to. “He’s right Em, there’s no way they arrest you for this. He was going to kill Asa and likely Akari, it was self defense. If they even get close to trying to pin it on you I’ll just take the blame. It’ll be easy, cute sweet non problematic woman or big scary dude who’s been super wanted for years?”

It was Kage’s attempt at calming her down and he only hoped that it worked and didn’t make her more worried. “So you’ll have to be my pen pal if anything happens. And visit lots. Make all the other inmates super jealous that my woman is as beautiful and kind as you are.” He squeezed her hand as she held his, only tearing his gaze from her when the door opened and Crow entered with Candy in his arms, Zuki not far behind. Shortly after Zuki closed the door Daisuke was slapping the chair to tell him everyone was secure and they’re were off.

The drive home wasn’t long but Kage took the time to make sure they took a unique enough way that if by any chance they were being trailed they would have lost whoever was following them. “We can call someone to come to the house too if she needs a doctor, you’re right that Asa probably isn’t much help right now but I’m sure he at least knows someone willing to travel for some hush money.” Kage spoke and he put the car in park now that they had returned to the garage. “Now everyone inside and get into clean comfortable clothes, I think we all deserve to relax.”

Sunny

"Well let's hope I don't get arrested, because I'm not letting you take the fall for something I did. I'd do fine in the slammer if I had you visiting, plus you might like me in orange." The thought of him in jail didn't put her at ease at all, but the fact that he would take the fall for her? It warmed her heart and just proved what a great guy he was. Not some big scary dude like he called it. He might as well have been a puppy dog...maybe a scary puppy when he was mad.

Soon enough the van door was opening and the three of them were piling in. Candy was alive but looked horrible, Crow was distraught and Zuki was telling them to drive. They were driving off and taking an odd route home, something she assumed he did just in case someone was following them. The van parked and while Kage proposed calling a different doctor, Emi looked over Candy a bit more as they climbed out. "Crow do you want to help Candy take a shower? I'm sure she wants to get all the blood off of her." Emi would have offered but she knew that she wanted to be alone with Crow right now. Something had happened that was weighing heavily on her and she completely understood that feeling.

"Comfy clothes sound nice. Smells like Akari must be cooking, do we want to all meet for dinner? Some food would make us all feel better." It would be a good opportunity to tell everyone that Shadow was gone and Kage was here. As she went up stairs she peaked in on Akari and Asa to let them know they were back and to check in on Asa. He seemed to be standing, talking, and doing a lot better...good. She was so worried, and she was glad that they were talking. They seemed like they were on good terms, so she ran up to her room to get changed into her black sweats and yellow hoodie. As much as she wanted a hot shower and a long sleep that would have to wait.

Once all ready she ran over to Kage's room and gave a small knock before walking in. "Do you want to drop the bomb at dinner? I'd like to know you're being honest with everyone before I get locked up." With a sad smile she walked over and sat down on the edge of his bed, waiting on him to get ready.

Zuki had been an assassin for most of her life, to her stealth, intimidation and murder were second nature. The feeling of being able to rescue someone though, that was new to her. She loved being able to help save Candy; for once Zuki could see herself being something other than the monster she was. Maybe she could actually help people without killing them? The thought boggled her mind and a small smile played on her lips as they drove home, even more so when Daisuke rested his head against her.

The moment may not have been ideal, but she had never been more happy to think about a future. Candy was roughed up but she was alive and with them, they could all finally live life. “We don’t have to worry about us dying anytime soon I hope. That was the end of it, right?” Zuki physically relaxed in Daisuke’s arms, her body noticeably relaxing. The van eventually made its way back to the house, and once everyone began to get out the dark haired woman was quick to help Daisuke out. Crow had Candy and she still had to tend to her beaten husband, though thankfully he was on the mend.

“Yeah, we’ll meet you for dinner. Come on ring guy, I want to get these weapons off of me. You should probably kick up your legs before dinner, too.” With that said she walked with Daisuke back to his room, though all things considering it was their room now. Her room was mainly just used to keep the majority of her weapons in. “Thanks for keeping your promise and staying in the van. You’re usually so bullheaded and I tend to worry about you.” Once to the room she dropped off her guns, ammo, and knives on the table.

Crow

“An amazing woman like you shouldn’t have had your edges that roughed, I’ll do my best to help fix them.” With a small smile he tried his best to joke back with her, knowing that it was taking a lot out of her to try and comfort them with a joke. “You just rest as best as you can, I’ve got you from here on out.” Crow didn’t care that he was wet from holding her; her skin felt like ice and he wanted her to warm up as fast as possible. His arms engulfed her as she leaned into him and held her close so that hopefully his body warmth would help her, even just a little. As much as he wanted to hold her and cry however he held it together, knowing Candy needed him to be strong for the both of them right now.

They pulled into the garage and although he wasn’t a medical expert he had observed Candy and didn’t see any dire wounds on her. She lost plenty of blood, beaten pretty badly, but the most emergent thing with her right now was the likelihood of developing hyperthermia. She was frigidly cold even with his body warmth, and the mention of a warm shower was brilliant.

Crow gently cradled her in his arms once more, holding her close to his warm chest with his anxiously beating heart. He didn’t stop moving until they had reached the closest shower, which happened to be in his room. Gently he placed Candy in the tub and turned on the faucets until it was nice and warm, not burning by any means but warm enough to get her body temperature regulated. Hopefully. “I figured it’d be best to get you in here as soon as possible, if you want me to leave let me know.” He positioned the water to rain down on her and he knelt by the side of the tub, washing some of the blood off of her face gently. “Do you want to talk about it at all? I always knew you had a secret but, I love you no matter what it is. You’re miss Candy, you’re perfect in my eyes.” Crow was always an honest guy, it was just who he was. And he was head over heels for her no matter what.

“I’ll have you know I’m the best cook of all the guys. Crow and Shadow live off of takeout or ramen, and Daisuke is an even worse cook than I am. So you lucked out, I can make boiled eggs for you one day.” With a small smirk on his lips he held Akari close as they made their way to the kitchen. He hoped things could go back to normal one day, like she seemed so positive about. This was the woman he wanted to spend every day with for the rest of his life, he wanted a wedding to show off that she was his and that they were happy. They’d officially be family after that, and they both needed a family.

Asa sat on one of the barstools with a small wince, his arms poked prodded and painful still. They were swelling and there was no way he’d be able to return to work anytime soon. “Taste test I can do no problem, but you’re the one that’s always cute. Seems easier if you did that last.” As he teased her he took the water with a thanks, drinking most of it in one drink. All the drugs had him thirsty, and while he was winding down he still felt off. “Thank god that boy has Emi now, at least she’ll make him live healthy. I’m surprised he even had this, I was expecting just a big cake in the fridge or something.”

Akari busied herself cooking and Asa found himself refilling his glass a few times during. As he did he noticed how often she checked her phone, and he couldn’t blame her. The water was helping him regain his clarity and he was overwhelmed with worry for Candy. They had their best guys and the boss on her rescue, but that didn’t mean he wanted to sit on the sidelines. Though he was sure the same could be said for Akari, and yet here she was staying back for his sake.

“Oh thank the lord.” The good news came from her mouth and he let out an audible sigh of relief. “I think it’s all done. And no one that saw any of us there will spill, they got paid and I’m sure they’re not willingly coming forward to blame any of us.” Asa moved to Akari’s side to give her a small hug and a kiss to her forehead again. “We play it by ear and take it careful for the next few weeks and we should be okay.” As he hugged her he saw Crow practically running with some bloody and battered person in his arms and his stomach sank. They didn’t come to him at all, so he’d give them a few minutes before ordering his assistance…or what he could do to assist, at least. Emi popped in to update them and then ran off, leaving the pair alone in the kitchen again.

“I’ll set the tables I guess.” With that said Asa took some plates and bowls out to the dining room table, barely managing to balance them on his sore and swollen arms.

Sherlock

“That’s honestly really sad for them.” Akari snorted at the thought of the others being a worse cook than Asa. He could be decent on occasion but she once watched this man try to bake sunny side up eggs. They spent the time in a comfortable silence while she cooked, they talked lightly about Candys safety and the near future. Akari had to admit she wondered what she would do next, she was a cop before all this and it had been her life’s passion. She liked helping people, she liked law. In a way. But going back to being an officer after all this felt strange, that’s assuming they would even allow her to return.

Asa came up to her side and gave her another hug, Akari felt herself relax a little against him. The door opened in the distance and in the past she probably would have jumped away out of embarrassment but she didn’t care anymore. She had spent far to much time running from this and she was going to soak up every minute from here on out. “Okay, good to hear.” Akari turned her head to respond to Emi as she turned off the burners and finished up cooking. Asa moved away from her to start setting the table and Akari began moving all the food to the table.

“Try not to worry about it much okay?” Akari finished plating everything and looked across the table at Asa. “I’m sure she’s okay, you know how Crow is, if they needed any medical attention he would have said something as soon as he got in the door. I’m sure it looks worse than it is.” She hoped. Akari gave him her most reassuring smile before standing up straight and stretching out her arms.

Candy

Honestly it was all a blur once they were in the van. It was dark. Watching the window made her nauseous but on the other hand closing her eyes made her go back to that room. Either way it was a loss. So once they finally reached the house she didn’t even notice until Crow was lifting her up once again and quickly making his way into the house and up the stairs to the bathroom. She was placed on the shower floor fully clothes and before she knew where she was fully she was met with the pleasant warmth of water flowing down over her.

“N-No don’t leave.” Candy spoke softly, reaching out her hand and wrapping it around his. Thankfully it didn’t seem like he planned on it despite the offer and he began to carefully wipe the blood from her face. There were a few parts where the man’s rings had cut up her face, they weren’t deep but the repeated torture made them pretty sore and swollen. Crow continued to speak while he took care of her and Candy felt herself seize up once more. She wanted to tell him, it was just hard. No one knew about it, the only time she spoke about it was when she visited her parents graves. Honestly she didn’t even know how Crows mother found out.

“I-“ Candy suddenly felt like there was an elephant on her chest. Water was heavy. Her skin felt tight. She turned and pulled the curtain between the two of them and quickly took off the dress she had been wearing. “S-Sorry I couldn’t breathe. It just felt like led on my body.” She knew it wasn’t the dress that was the cause of the sudden weight, it was the subject. But removing it helped and having the curtain to block her from view helped a lot too.

“I can’t have kids.” Candy finally let the words fall out of her mouth after a few minutes of nothing but the sound of the shower. “I don’t know if you ever found out about what happened with Lee. I think Shadow kind of knows, I think Lee told him but even he didn’t know the real story because I lied to him.” She scoffed, “God I really am awful.” She paused again to wipe away some of the tears that were starting to fall. “I got pregnant with him, at first I thought it was scary but that it would be amazing. I wanted it to work so bad. I wanted a family again so bad. But then he got scary, when he found out I was pregnant the obsession got worse, he threatened me all the time if I was out too long or if I did anything he didn’t approve of. I quickly realized that if we had a child together, I’d never get away from him. That would be my life. That would be the life I brought my child into.” The next part was what was hard. Candy logically knew she had sound reasoning for what she did but… emotionally? It fucking killed her.

“I had an abortion. I lied and told him I miscarried and he freaked out, I was able to get away from him after that with Daisukes help. B-But… there were issues with my procedure and they let me know I wouldn’t be able to get pregnant again….”

Candy started sobbing, “I’m so sorry, I understand if you can’t look at me. If you don’t want to be with me anymore. I’m not perfect, I know you think I am but clearly I’m not! Your mom was right. You deserve so much more than me.”

Shadow;Kage

They all kind of split up to handle different things once they got to the house. Emi went inside and gave Asa and Akari a quick update while Crow handled getting Candy cleaned up and the others went to get into comfortable clothes for the dinner Akari was apparently finishing up. Kage went straight to his room and found himself some black plaid pajama pants and a large black hoodie before tying his white hair into a pony tail and moving over to his desk.

It was littered with all sorts of old contracts and plans, different boxes for ammunition and a rolladex of his contacts that he kept in paper form only. To the side of his desk was a trash can that he began tossing all the paper into while packing away the bullets and such in a drawer for now. Behind him her heard his door open and Emi began speaking abruptly. “Woah girl.” Kage chuckled as he finished tossing the last bit of paper in the trash can and turning to place the can by the door before moving over to where she sat on the edge of his bed.

“For the last time you’re not going to jail.” Kage stood in front of her, he was already quite a bit taller than her but with her sitting and him standing it was a ridiculous height difference. He knelt down on a knee so he could be close to face level with her and moved in close, holding her chin between his thumb and index finger. “Promise.” He held her there for a moment, searching her eyes for any sign that she would drop her worry and believe him. “Really.” Then he moved in for a soft kiss before standing up and reaching out a hand to help her up.

“But yes, I plan on telling them. Dinners a good idea.” Kage kept hold of her hand as they moved towards the door, he stopped momentarily to grab the trash can but then the two were headed to the dining room shortly after.

“Smells good Akari. How’s pin cushion doing?” Kage always felt like it was better to be straight up about things rather than beat around the bush, plus Asa wasn’t a man to get offended easily. “You’re walking and talking a lot better than you were. That’s good to see.” Kage carefully patted Asa on the shoulder before moving past him and towards the fireplace in the living room off the dining area. He tossed the contents of his trash can into the opening before grabbing the supplies to get a fire going.

“There. Ambiance.”

Daisuke Tanaka

“That was the end of it if I have anything to say about it.” As they drove away from the house they could hear the sound of police sirens in the distance. Daisuke knew that tomorrow he would likely have to figure out a way to get ahold of some of his friends in the prosecutors office to figure out how they could get out of this with the least amount of questioning possible. As well as amnesty for everyone in their group. It wouldn’t be hard given the silver platter they handed the Suits to them on but, lots of red tape and a lot of things for Daisuke to make sure we’re covered. Especially Zuki and Shadow, the two had committed a lot of violent crime in their days so Daisuke would need to make sure they were protected. He would make sure they all were.

“Ring guy? Come on I thought I graduated from that!” Daisuke chuckled as he and Zuki climbed out of the car behind the others. It seemed like Crow had a handle on Candy and if he didn’t, Shadow was right, there was other doctors they could call and offer to pay. So for now Daisuke chose to try and relax a bit and followed Zuki upstairs to the room their shared. “I don’t typically break a promise love.” He winced a bit as he responded, he had tried to move and take off his shirt but even he had to admit he had possibly over done it with all the movement today.

“You do know I’ll have to work tomorrow right? At least a bit. With something this big I want to make sure we’re proactive.” Daisuke turned to Zuki as he finally got his shirt off, thankfully he was already in sweatpants but his shirt had gotten a bit wet and bloody when Crow got Candy into the van. “I can sit at a desk though, maybe bring an assistant? A super sexy one who isn’t going to be mad at me for working because I just called her sexy? Maybe?” He gave her a wide grin before reaching into his closet for a new t shirt and struggling to pull it over his head. “Fuck wearing a suit is going to be fucking impossible.”

Doc

First off, at least the baked sunny side up eggs would have been cooked. If Crow cooked you'd be getting raw eggs. They started talking about the future and he could tell she was uneasy about going back to being an officer, she wasn't the same person she had been back then. "Have you ever thought about maybe being a PI? Less grunt work than an officer, you make your own hours. I could get you all set up, I have a friend that manages buildings. We can go tour some places for an office when everything settles a bit. How does that sound?" As he finished up setting the plates he grabbed some silverware with a small nod in regards to Crow and Candy. "It just sucks that I can't be of any help to her, I'm sure she got fucked up physically but way more emotionally. Crow is probably more fit to help her in that regard."

As Asa busied himself setting silverware and cups Emi and Shadow were the first to join them. And, of course, the fucker had to antagonize him. It was either him, Crow, or Daisuke. All three of the boys knew how to press Doc's buttons. Fucking, pin cushion? Really. "Yeah it does smell great doesn't it? Surprising Akari could make a decent meal with the shit you have around here." Despite his bad jokes though it was nice to see Shadow in a good mood again. Was it just him or he was unusually happy? "It seems like I'll live to see another day. Maybe I'll reward Emi by setting her up on a date with a colleague for saving us. Give her a break from her angsty emo comedian." Shadow wasn't one to get offended easily, but consider that payback for his little pin cushion jab.

Akari moved the food to the table and Asa put a bottle of wine out and a pitcher of water. As much as Asa wanted a drink tonight it'd be best to abstain. "Smells delicious, Akari." Asa gave her a gentle smile before holding out her seat for her. He was slowly gaining more clarity and was feeling more like himself. Felt sicker than shit, but he was seeing things far more clear.

Crow

It was hard for Crow to see Candy so broken and defeated. She was one of the strongest people he knew, she was headstrong with a good head on her shoulders, it didn't seem like much of anything could ever make her cry. He looked to her for strength at his weaker moments and he was going to be there to help support her through this, to be her strength, no matter what. "I'm not going anywhere, promise." Gently he squeezed her hand in response, letting her know that he would never leave her. As he used a soft washcloth to wash the blood off of her face he couldn't help but feel his heart waver to see all of the cuts and swelling. She'd be sore for days, maybe longer. Not to mention the mental anguish she'd go through the rest of her life because of this...

Crow would be there to help her, love her, and support her through the rest of her life. He swore it. Suddenly she was letting go of him and moving the curtain, blinking a few times as he tried to understand what happened. It wasn't the weight of the clothes, it was the weight of the topic. "Don't be sorry." As she spoke he moved to the small cupboard in the bathroom to pull out a large towel, and his softest black hoodie and sweats before taking his seat back next to the tub.

And then she spoke, and he felt his stomach churn. How'd his mother find out something so...sad? Candy had wanted a family, and because of Lee's crazy ass and some complications during her procedure, that dream of hers that she was robbed of. However, he found himself growing irritated towards the end of her words. "Why do you think I deserve better? I fell in love with you Candy, I've loved you from the first conversation, I fell even harder when we met for the first time. Not being able to have kids...that doesn't make you any less of the woman I love. It's just part of you now, that's it. There's always options. You want kids? We can adopt one, we can adopt ten if you want! You'd be an amazing mom. If we don't have kids I'd be fine too, you want to know why?"

Crow turned off the water without peeking before returning to his side of the curtain, handing her the large plush towel. "Because as long as I get to spend the rest of my life in your company Candy, then I'll be happy. Because I love you." For better or for worse, in sickness and in health. Those all sounded like the words you'd say in a marriage ceremony... some day. It was his turn to take the boys ring shopping. "I've got some dry soft clothes for you. They might be a little big, but hopefully they'll weigh less than that dress." It was a small attempt for a joke but he hoped it eased the tension. "Akari looked like she was cooking...want to go out and eat something? At least get some fluids in you. Everyone is worried sick about you."

Luna

She didn't want to say I told you so, but, well. She told him so. If he would have stayed home he wouldn't have been so sore, but Zuki chose to say nothing and smirk slightly. "Ring guy will always hold a special place in my heart, but you did upgrade to husband. I'll cut you some slack today." Zuki changed from her assassin outfit to a pair of leggings and a black tank and hoodie. She was trying her best to be as laid back as possible, but the mention of him going back to work made her grin fall. As he spoke and tried to convince her she leaned against the wall with her arms crossed and a slightly disapproving face on.

"Oh you're trying to butter me up are you? You know I'll be the first to be arrested if they try to bring any of us in right? Those fucking cops have it out for me. Like I'm prone to killing people or something. Real assholes." With a small sigh though, she let her arms fall. "I guess if I don't come with you to be your assistant then I'll spend all day worrying about you, especially now that I'm unemployed. So, sure. I don't have a resume and I can assure you I do not know how to work a computer, I don't have any secretarial skills whatsoever. Probably good you think I'm so sexy, that'll be my only redeeming quality I suppose."

Another small smirk played on her lips as she pecked him on the cheek. "I can help you put your suit on in the morning, so let's just relax tonight and know that the Suits are done." Zuki gently took his hand and led him out to the others. "Asa you're looking much better. Do we know how Candy is doing?" It didn't sound like anyone had called a doctor, she just hoped that Crow was able to warm Candy up. She was freezing when Zuki cut her free and it made her worry.

Sunny

What had he been up to? Kage was tossing some papers into the trash, something she could only assume was part of his hitman gig. Emi didn't really get to inquire any further though; he was moving in front of her and kneeling in front of her. Her face lit up as he held her face and looked into her eyes. Emi was terrified to go to jail, she felt an overwhelming guilt for what she had done. But Kage seemed so confident that she'd be fine, he was in front of her promising that she'd be fine.

It was hard to feel anything but confident when he looked at her like that, especially with the kiss. It completely melted away her worries and, before she knew it, he was standing up and reaching a hand out for her. Gently Emi held onto his hand as she made her way to her feet, giving a small nod as she did. "Okay, okay. I'll believe you." If she did get arrested by any means though, she would definitely be saying I told you so. As they walked out Emi laced her fingers with his, watching as he grabbed the trash can.

Pin cushion. Sometimes the things he said threw her off guard and all she could do was laugh awkwardly, but when Asa came in firing back with setting Emi up on a date the laugh became nervous. "Now now, I quite like my comedian. I think he's a little less angsty these days, right?" Emi bat her long lashes curiously as he went and dumped the trash. It made her smile watching him get rid of whatever it was. It was a rolladex, it had to be all of his contacts. "Crows taking care of Candy, she's in good hands." As Kage lit the fire it brought up the memory of their vacation and she couldn't help but smile again. They'd all be able to relax and focus on living their lives now, this was a new chapter for everyone. It made her want to cry tears of joy, but she'd save that until she had a glass or two of the wine.
