If you haven't got the memo yet, Ivan is a fanboy. He obsesses over anything and everything, without a hitch, and it doesn't take long for him to become obsessed with any given series or show or band or what have you. Of course, this means he has a one-track mind, and will often be unable to focus on anything else but whatever he is obsessing over. Ironically enough, when it comes to conversations or, say, homework, his one-track mind is moot, and he is easily distracted to a fault. His short attention span in these areas is often annoying, though conversely impressive when he's able to hold long conversations about one topic.
Somehow, his various obsessions have landed him friends, because his bubbly personality and ability to make tons of references in different areas have endeared him to others. Although his various fanboy pursuits distract him most of the time, he is quite an amicable character, when given the chance. Even though he has been sought after for advice, most of his advice comes in the form of a reference from something. In Ivan's mind, books, TV, bands, etc. have taught him all he needs to know about human interaction. Oh, how naive this poor boy is.

Ivan's home was standard, for a time. Mom, dad, two little brothers, all those good things. He had a cat named Sir Banderas and a goldfish named Nemo (because no one told him clownfish and goldfish were different). It was a happy family life, and one full of many good memories and family outings.

His mother suddenly fell ill, and it was like a tornado came through the Kemp house. When she went to the doctor, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and it had unfortunately spread too far into other regions of her body for her to do anything about it. Ivan and his younger brothers were devastated, and they spent as much time with their dying mother as they could before the day she finally stopped breathing.
From then on, his father, who had loved his wife very much, withdrew himself. He went to work and paid the bills, but every night, he came home and shut himself in his room, refusing to look or speak to his three sons, all of whom bore some resemblance to their mother. Whenever Ivan looked in the mirror, he only saw his mother's eyes and smile, and eventually he stopped looking.
Desperate to distract himself, Ivan started turning to books. This led to manga, which led to anime, which led to TV, which led to various bands, etc. Anything he could get his hands on that took him away from this world, he got into. He became so invested in all these things, he forgot his grief.
And then, like magic, there was a band in his hometown. Their music was a perfect excuse for Ivan to get out of the house, and he became so invested in them, he could almost forgot the empty brokenness of his home.
And now they're back. Oh, how he missed the nights when he got out of that godforsaken house of his.

Bio: Rather than the typical nuclear family setting, Jade was practically raised by a village. The Savage village to be precise. She was an only child to her parents though, with her mother being a constant presence while her father was only allowed weekend visits. The Savage family consisted of a lineage of successful progeny, from lawyers to CEOs. There was a lot of expectations put into place on every Savage child, with no exclusion from Jade. In fact with her brilliance shown at a young age, a lot was planned out for the girl. But there was always her desire to embrace the musical arts that most of the older Savage family members disapproved of. Why? Because her own father had chosen to take that path himself and showed to be a failure. He had been the previous generation's hope for becoming to be a big star of a company that would really bedazzle the Savage family name, but instead, he decided to follow his passion for music and flopped instantly.
So in order to avoid a repeat of that "mistake", Jade's mother managed to win custody of her and limited her father's influence on her. But this didn't stop Jade from sneaking out at times to see her father as she grew up. In fact, she enjoyed her times with him. He was a breath of fresh air in her scripted life. As she grew older, she tried to keep her passion for music a secret from her grandparents, mother, and aunts and uncles while following along with what they wanted her to do. Bio: Rather than the typical nuclear family setting, Jade was practically raised by a village. The Savage village to be precise. She was an only child to her parents though, with her mother being a constant presence while her father was only allowed weekend visits. The Savage family consisted of a lineage of successful progeny, from lawyers to CEOs. There was a lot of expectations put into place on every Savage child, with no exclusion from Jade. In fact with her brilliance shown at a young age, a lot was planned out for the girl. But there was always her desire to embrace the musical arts that most of the older Savage family members disapproved of. Why? Because her own father had chosen to take that path himself and showed to be a failure. He had been the previous generation's hope for becoming to be a big star of a company that would really bedazzle the Savage family name, but instead, he decided to follow his passion for music and flopped instantly.
So in order to avoid a repeat of that "mistake", Jade's mother managed to win custody of her and limited her father's influence on her. But this didn't stop Jade from sneaking out at times to see her father as she grew up. In fact, she enjoyed her times with him. He was a breath of fresh air in her scripted life. As she grew older, she tried to keep her passion for music a secret from her grandparents, mother, and aunts and uncles while following along with what they wanted her to do. Kira has always wanted more from life then she felt the cards she was dealt. Raised an only child by a single mother because who knows what happened to her father. Her mother made it a point to never speak of him not matter how much she asked as a child. Growing up in a small town also wasn't ideal for her because everyone knew everyone and usually not in a good way. Once you got a reputation that tended to be what stuck for better or for worse. Kira was always working to help support her mother who was a cook at the local dinner. She babysat, learned how to do simple fixes to computers for the older generations so they could pay to ask her rather then annoy their kids or grandkids, and any other odd jobs around town that needed to be done that people were willing to pay a little something for. In middle school she got her first taste of playing music with the school's violin in orchestra, and while she does still secretly practice from time to time she knew something much more convenient would be a guitar. She saved up what she could and within a year she bought her first guitar. She practiced anytime she wasn't working which lead to her grades slipping and her mother getting furious with her and causing them to fight more and more. She loved her mother, but this was the one thing in her life she did for herself and not just for survival.
Once she was in high school she was pretty much labeled dumb by the adults around her because of her grades, and figured she worked so hard because that's all she'd ever amount to, is doing simple jobs and living pay check to pay check like her mother. She wasn't dumb though she just was too busy for homework, and sometimes stayed up too late and fell asleep in class. Even when she'd do good on a test her teachers assumed she either cheated or got lucky. She just ignored them though because she knew one day, one way or anther she'd get out of this god forsaken place. When offered to join the band she jumped at the opportunity to be around people who hopefully would understand her. Then they got discovered and like a dream come true went on tour. It was everything she could've hoped for and more, and was sad when it came to an end. She's not happy about having to come back to finish up school, but she'd promised when her mother signed the papers allowing her to go that she'd graduate. She's not sure what happens next, but she knows she wants to get back to making music and hopefully going out into the world again even bigger and better.
