  You're special. Yeah, you know. You always have been.
  
  Maybe when in middle school a bully cornered you in the bathroom and tried to break your nose but broke his hand instead, you realized. Maybe it was later, when you had to explain what had happened to the principal, and he believed your stuttered, unlikely story. Or maybe, later in life, you figured that the likelihood of you never once having been sick was a statistical anomaly. By lord, you were no fantastical super human or legendary hero, but nobody else ever really seemed to compare.
  
  You have always been competent, ruthless, and exceptional at what you do, but have you ever once stopped to wonder why that is? Why your voice is law? Why your skin barely bruises? Certainly, no one else ever has. Why, in spite of all this, do you feel like you're a shackled, chained, and sick animal, only a quiet whisper of your true self?
  
  This doubt is not natural to you, but the thoughts were spurred when the something contacted you. The beckon was clear as day, but only to you. It was displayed on your TV amidst the static, or maybe in a strange envelope pushed under your door by some unseen force - perhaps even whispered to you in your dreams last night.
  
  "The cycle ends. It is time for the soul to be gathered whole once more. Retake what is yours, and do not waver. The sun will soon set on a brand new dawn."
  
  The shackles have been cast off. You can feel the others. You may not like it, but you know what you have to do.

  Welcome to Extinction Event! Have YOU ever wanted to play an exceptionally powerful character and bring about the end of the world for your own self-interest? Say no more.
  
  The setting is a grim alternate reality earth, the year 2022. The history is vaguely the same, but details can be changed for the backgrounds of characters. You'll be playing an individual born and raised in Alpha Terra, the biggest and most populated city in the world, where the majority of the roleplay will be situated. You will be one of several individuals with a piece of the Soul, a power that makes your physique greater, your words more influential, and your brain faster. As the story progresses, your characters will quickly become increasingly powerful, and your ultimate goal is to kill all other players and gather all lost pieces of the soul. The consequence might be beyond what your character could imagine, but it is not like you have a say in the matter. The drive to destroy that exists within you urges you to continue your vicious ways until you have overcome and conquered.
  
  Furthermore, death is not the end, but you might have preferred it to be.
  
  You awoke this morning knowing the extents of your powers, and uncannily sensing the other carriers of Soul, wherever they may be in the city. Alliances and social intrigue is encouraged, but know that at the end of the day, there may only be one left.
  
  Since this roleplay will involve character death and all the dark themes that involves, it is suited best to mature players who can separate IC and OOC. Keep the incredible violence and death threats in the roleplay, out here on the meta side we are all friends :^)
  
  To make sure that the RP is manageable for myself (since a lot of the correspondence regarding your character and powers will happen privately in DMs) I might not be able to accept every single character, and in the interest of keeping the quality top-notch it won't be first come first serve either. Character building will be explained further in the CS section when it is made.
  
  Initially, the powers of each character will be simple. They are clearly superior to ordinary humans: immune to disease and aging, resistant to damage of all kinds, can heal from all but the most lethal of injuries, stronger and faster, more cunning, and more charismatic - but as the roleplay progresses each character will unlock supernatural powers according to a theme, which in-world will be referred to as an aspect. This might be a theme like Hell, Nature, or Lovecraftian - but I could be convinced to allow stuff like Mafia or even Baseball if you have a good idea in mind. In accordance with the setting, I'd like it to be fairly dark and cynical - but we'll discuss this when we get to it.
  
  The powers of everyone will increase fairly drastically quite often, as the timescale of the RP isn't more than a single day. This can and will happen during combat, as your opponent suddenly learns how to shoot lasers out of his eyes, or suddenly tanks your super punches without so much as a scratch. This progressive power growth will increase massively once a character kills and absorbs another character's piece of Soul - but cunning actions or alliances may yet bridge the power gap. There is no certainty that a killer manages to snatch the Soul for themselves either, as a swift carrier could swoop in and steal the spoils of war. Very soon, you'll find your attacks leveling buildings, if not entire neighborhoods.
  
  The end WILL come, it is only a question of who brings it about first.

Not to and actually, yes, to be that guy, how are fights set to be decided for the winner? Judging system, till an agreement is reached between players, pre-planned narrative?

I don't think that's a very "that guy" question. Ideally, we can all get along and see what would fit best dramatically, but if it ever becomes difficult I think we can set it up for a vote. There will be circumstances where one character is simply more powerful than another (if they've already killed someone and absorbed their Soul, for example), but even in these circumstances it'd be very interesting to see another character outsmart the first. I'm trying to make the concept of loss not entirely unappealing by adding after-death mechanics and making the actual win somewhat unappealing, though. I hope to work with everyone to achieve a satisfying storyline :^)

I see, I've done pvp before but I think I'll sit this one out till I see some sheets to get an idea of what is what, I'll pass on word of this to someone else I know that may like it however.
