Character Skeleton - Explanation

Basic Information

Personal Information
Background - Your character background should cover how they grew up, how they ended up being selected to be a dragon rider, and a brief overview of how they trained for the mission and met their dragon. Your background should be compliant with your character's skills as in if your character is good at shooting, their background should explain why they have that skill.
Skills - Your character should have five skills total. The skill breakdown is as follows: 2 combat skills (ex. good marksman), 1 physical skill (ex. flexible), 1 mental skill (ex. good observational skills) and 1 optional skill that you can use as you like.
Weaknesses - Your character should have five weaknesses total. The breakdown is as follows: 2 combat weaknesses (ex. bad at close quarters combat), 1 physical weakness (ex. slow reflexes), 1 mental weakness (ex. easily distracted) and 1 optional weakness which can be anything.

Other Information
Modifications - Characters are allowed to have up to 3 body modifications. It is not required that you use any of them, but I put a lot of work into this system so it'd be appreciated if you used at least one lol. You can find all the information on available body modifications in the information section below, but you're also welcome to come up with your own (you'll have to clear them with Jon and I first though).
Equipment - Any weapons/specialized tech or items your character owns goes here. Please be mindful of how much equipment a person can realistically carry. You have creative liberty over what tech you make up but certain parts of the weapon might not work due to Covensano's magical properties, and you must clear equipment with Jon and I.

Character Stats
*Each character ability is maxed at 5 points (for now). You have 18 stat points to spend on the following characteristics:
Strength: A character's physical strength
Speed: A character's speed
Stamina: A character's ability to sustain prolonged physical or mental effort
Dexterity: A character's skill in performing small, complex actions, usually with their hands. For this rp dexterity will also cover agility.
Intelligence: A character's basic knowledge about the world around them as well as logic/reasoning abilities
Mental Processing: The speed in which the human brain processes and retains information
**Note that character stats can be increased/decreased by body modifications. Please denote body modification stats separate from your character's base stats. Here's an example:
Strength: 5 (+2 cyborg arm) (-3 hollow bones)
This would bring your character's overall strength to 4. The 18 stat points don't take modifications into account, so if you choose your modifications wisely you can end up with more than 18 points overall.

Body Modification Guide
There are two trees of body mods, the physical tree and the mental tree. The options for the trees are below, but if you have something else in mind please feel free to run it by us!

The format of the mods is: Name (stat gains/deficits) - Description

Physical Tree
Strength
  • Plating (+4 strength, -2 speed, -2 stamina) - Metal plating is inserted under key areas of the skin (usually chest, forearms and stomach) to resist damage. While the plating will help lessen the impact of any physical would suffered in an area, the attack will still break the skin and cause bleeding which would require treatment. Plating adds body weight to an individual which slows them down and deteriorates their stamina.
  • Adrenaline Rush (+4 strength, -3 processing, -3 stamina) - A pill is taken that sends the user into a "berserk"-type mode. They gain an immense amount of strength but in return lose a lot of their decision-making skills, and after the effect wears off it severely damages their stamina. An individual must be gradually introduced to the drug because a regular dose would kill a normal person, and the introduction stage usually lasts around 3 years.
  • Large Body (+3 strength, -3 speed) - Growth hormones administered before the age of 15 will result in an individual growing much larger than they would have normally as well as encouraging large amounts of muscle mass. Individuals with "large bodies" are usually over 7 feet tall and extremely muscular.
  • Cyborg Arm (+3 strength, -1 speed, -1 stamina) - An individual's arm is taken off and replaced with a mechanical one. This is usually installed in response to an accident depriving somebody of their arm, but can also be installed on a voluntary basis at the cost of the person's biological arm. Cyborg arms are much more resistant to damage and shock than regular arms, but their weight is a detriment to the user's speed and stamina. If an individual wished to replace both of their arms with cyborg arms, the stats would be as follows: (+5 strength, -2 speed, -3 stamina). *Requires a battery pack (below).
  • Claws (+2 strength, -1 speed) - Retractable claws can be implemented under the skin of a person's hand, allowing the user to use the sharp metal weapons at any time. Average claw length is around 4 inches, but can go up to 10 inches (any claw length above 6 inches results in the following stats: +4 strength, -3 dexterity, -2 speed).
Speed
  • Hollow Bones (+4 speed, -5 strength) - Surgery removes the bone marrow from a person's bones to result in something similar to bird bones. This reduces the user's body weight by around 10-12%, allowing much faster movement and an easier time riding smaller dragons due to less burden on the beast. However, the bones after the surgery are much more fragile than a normal human's which decreases the user's strength.
  • Small Body (+3 speed, -3 strength) - Growth hormones administered before the age of 15 will result in an individual growing much smaller than they would have normally. Individuals with "small bodies" are usually under 5 feet tall and extremely skinny and lithe.
  • Rocket Boosters (+3 speed, -2 stamina) - Rocket boosters can be implemented into a person's ankles to enable extra boost when running, and if the individual is light enough they can also promote some aerial combat through increasing jump height and airborne time. The devices take at least 8 years to be able to master as they distort a person's balance and normal movement, but can't be installed until the person is at least 18 years old without severely damaging a person's feet and legs. *Requires a battery pack (below).
  • Cyborg Leg (+2 speed, -1 stamina) - An individual's leg is taken off and replaced with a mechanical one. This is usually installed in response to an accident depriving somebody of their leg, but can also be installed on a voluntary basis at the cost of the person's biological leg. Cyborg leg are much more resistant to damage and shock than regular leg, and machinery enables a person to run faster than somebody with biological legs. If an individual wished to replace both of their leg with cyborg legs, the stats would be as follows: (+4 speed, -3 stamina). *Requires a battery pack (below).
Stamina
  • Backup Drive (+5 stamina, -4 processing, -2 intelligence) - A backup drive is installed into an individual's brain that can be activated at any time. When activated, it will surge the brain with chemicals which blocks any pain and exhaustion felt by the user. The chemicals then linger for the course of 5 minutes, enabling increased concentration and energy even when the person was previously exhausted. However, when in use the person loses a lot of mental abilities and control over their actions and they mostly succumb to emotional responses. Their logic and reasoning skills are also impaired.
  • Battery Pack Deluxe (+4 stamina, -4 processing) - A battery pack that charges body electronics such as cyborg parts and rocket boosters. Battery packs are required for any electronic due to the fact that there are no charging ports on the island. Once used, a deluxe battery pack takes 3 hours to recharge. When used, the battery pack completely refreshes the electronic being used, but damages the user's ability to control their electronics due to the electrical surge. This effect wears down over the course of 10 minutes until the user regains full control, but for this reason it's extremely detrimental to use a battery pack out on the field.
  • Battery Pack Basic (+2 stamina, -2 processing) - A battery pack that charges body electronics such as cyborg parts and rocket boosters. Battery packs are required for any electronic due to the fact that there are no charging ports on the island. Once used, a basic battery pack takes 7 hours to recharge. When used, the battery pack completely refreshes the electronic being used, but damages the user's ability to control their electronics due to the electrical surge. This effect wears down over the course of 20 minutes until the user regains full control, but for this reason it's extremely detrimental to use a battery pack out on the field.

Mental Tree
Dexterity
  • Neural Chip (+3 dexterity, -2 processing, -1 stamina) - A neutral chip implanted in the brainstem that processes neural impulses before they reach the brain. This enables faster reflexes and reaction times, but due to the lack of brain control over the chip doesn’t always result in the actions a user may intend. Additionally, the human body isn’t used to reacting at such high speeds and therefore tends to fatigue faster than a normal human.
Mental Processing
  • CPU (+4 processing, -6 stamina) - Essentially a cyborg brain, having a CPU implant allows for extremely fast mental processes; resulting in information recall at least x2 the speed of a normal human's and incredibly fast reflexes. Memory storage also increases and people with CPU implants usually have near-photographic memory. The downside, however, is that the human body isn't used to such fast information processing and even doing the most menial task with a CPU implant sends the body into overdrive resulting in fast rates of physical exhaustion.
Intelligence
  • Cyborg Eye (+3 intelligence, -2 dexterity, -1 speed) - A cyborg eye implant which gives the user the following abilities: thermal vision, night vision, current temperature/wind/humidity ratings, a facial recognition system and a dragon diagnosis system. The constant information flow into the eye implant (usually the left eye) is distracting and results in less focus on physical activity, which is a detriment to the user's dexterity and their movement speed.
  • Knowledge Chip (+2 intelligence) - A chip injected into the back of the brain that contains up-to-date information on all aspects of the dragon island as well as the various dragon types and abilities.

    Special Abilities: The Armorhead Diver has extremely high impact resistance and can withstand extremely harsh blows and blunt force trauma. In particular, the AD's head can withstand the impact of smashing headfirst into the ground from a dive. In addition, the AD has a unique torpedo-like dive in which they fold their wings and legs up beside their body in order to quickly plummet through the air while spinning. This move enables the AD to easily grab and fly off with small opponents or smash into and stun larger ones. Their horns are sharp but not often used for offense due to their positioning. They are incredibly hard to damage and put out of action but don't have much offensive potential aside from their sheer size and their torpedo.

Species - Armorhead Diver

Appearance - Gorgio is a rusty brown color that roughly approximates that of dirt. The scales on the back of his neck and spine are considerably darker than the rest, and the scales towards his belly are considerably lighter in shade. His eyes are small and yellow with tiny black pupils and he has the large broad snout characteristic of the species. His chin is pointed and unlike many others of his kind his horns are straight as opposed to curled around his head. Gorgio's scales are thick and durable, as is a norm for his species, and his body is muscular. His wingspan is approximately 32ft from wing tip to wing tip.

Relationship - Gorgio and Allie's relationship is based on a mixture of mutual respect and resentment. He is not happy about being held captive and has attempted to escape multiple times. He is controlled through a chip implanted at the top of his spine that connects to his nervous system, and whenever he misbehaves his nervous system is promptly activated to create stabbing pains throughout his body. Over the years he has learned to submit to the humans' wills and just mundanely do what they ask. His relationship with Allie is slightly better because she tries to reason with him more than any other human he's experienced and is somewhat reluctant to punish him. He also respects the woman's strength and capabilities despite her species. They are both impulsive and emotional creatures, so sometimes their agendas line up, but at the end of the day they come to the base disagreement where Gorgio is captive against his will and Allie is keeping him there. As of recent years, they have formed a very tentative friendship, but that friendship is fragile.

Description - Allie's predominant features are her large eyes which seem out of proportion to her face which only seem more out of place when paired with her thick eyebrows and long eyelashes. The rest of her face seems to hide behind her eyes and her nose, lips and ears all seem to be small in comparison. Her hair is shoulder-length and brown and is usually worn in a ponytail when not tucked in underneath her helmet. The woman has broad shoulders and a somewhat stocky build, though her height offsets any potential chubbiness. Her arms and calves are well-muscled and her stride implies that she's a person used to strenuous physical activity. She usually is seen around wearing her full body armor.

Background -

Allie was born onto one of America's three mega farms. The farming and agricultural industry had consolidated into three super companies, and while many components of it were now mechanized there was still the need for farming families to make sure the land and crops were being maintained correctly. She spent her youth roaming the vast farmlands, helping with menial tasks such as lifting crates, weeding, and cutting down trees. This background in manual labor set her up well for when she went away to high school - as there weren't any schools near the farmland - and joined the weight lifting team. After four hard years of work, she graduated high school with multiple state championships in women's powerlifting.

Immediately after high school she was recruited onto the US Army powerlifting team at West Point. Little did she know, her recruitment served a double purpose - not only was she being recruited to lift, but also as a potential dragon rider. The US Government was looking at young potential officers to groom in order to eventually be apart of the DDEC's coalition, and as a result Allie's college experience was a little different than most people's. She was constantly pitted in random fights and given impossible tasks to complete, held at a higher standard than her peers and received extra training under the guise of the lifting program. She only learned the truth near her graduation, where she was given the option of continuing to compete to be a dragon rider or join the "regular" army.

A true competitor, Allie's choice was obvious, and out of West Point she went on to train at the facility where they were holding Gorgio. Her physical strength combined with her unrelenting willpower and single-minded fixation saw her succeed at any task she was given, and she has spent the last six years training in combat and how to control Gorgio. At first, their relationship was rocky because Gorgio felt no need to submit to the will of the comparatively small woman, but after she demonstrated her capabilities again and again he began to respect her a little. Allie has always been a steadfast and unchanging partner to him, and while she's prone to bouts of intense emotion, her strong desire to help her country hasn't wavered. She understands that Gorigo is the key to the future, and treats him as such.

Skills -
Marksman - Allie is an accomplished short-distance marksman. Her specialty is pistols and her range of efficiency is 25-100 meters, and combined with the fact that her goggles grant her clear vision of nearly all battlefields, Allie's keen eyes paired with her knowledge of her weapons means that she is a lethal short-distance marksman.
Tank - Allie's body armor, strength and resilience make her into a small tank. She can withstand most hits and is also prepared to take a hit for the team.
Strongman - Both Allie's upper and lower body is extremely muscular - she is very strong and can lift things up to three times her body weight. These feats are assisted by her armor suit because it helps support her spine when she's under duress.
Willpower - When Allie sets her mind to a mission, she will stop at nothing to achieve it. She believes in herself and her ability completely, and that conviction combined wit her fixation onto a mission means she is very apt at accomplishing her tasks.
Command Presence - It is hard to miss Allie in a crowd and when she speaks she does so with authority. Even people that she doesn't know well will often submit to her orders, just because she always sounds like she knows what she's doing - even if she doesn't. Her absolute belief in herself and her ideals is often projected onto others who are emboldened because of it. Finally, she is good at simplifying orders to make sure that everyone understands exactly what they're expected to do.

Weaknesses -
Super Close Range and Long Distance Combat- Seeing that Allie's only weapons are her pistols, if an opponent manages to get inside the range of both weapons she is done for. In addition, she can't attack anything further than 150 meters away from her, meaning that she is forced to let her opponents into close quarters combat in order to fight.
Heat - While her armor protects her from most force attacks, Allie is susceptible to both plasma and dragon fire. Her suit won't melt to fire but it will burn her up inside, and if hit by direct plasma fire will melt.
Heavy - Allie's muscular stature and armor mean that she is a very heavy person, which sometimes slows her down or makes it difficult for other people to carry her, or even for Gorgio to fly her for long distances.
Prideful - Allie is prideful to the extreme. If her ego or pride is tarnished in any way she will immediately flare up and become extremely angry, and that influx of emotion often leads to her fighting becoming rash and clumsy. She will never back down from an insult until she is sure the other person has learned their lesson - usually by killing them - which means she becomes so fixated on a certain goal she ends up ignoring everything else around her. Allie will even target her own allies when it comes to this which can be a nuisance when in the middle of a battle against a real enemy.
Intolerant - Allie likes everything to be done her way, and finds it difficult to sympathize with people who hold opposing views. This can make it extremely difficult to work with her when she's set her mind to something, in addition to making her difficult to reason with.

Equipment -
  • Full Body Armor - Retractable armored plates which form up a suit that covers her entire body. The plates are made of a metal alloy that is more flexible than some others so that it has shock absorbant properties. The armor can withstand a high amount of blunt force trauma without denting, and while Allie often gets bruised she doesn't ofen break bones while wearing it. It is bullet proof, and plasma resistant - it can deflect a little bit of plasma but will melt under concentrated plasma fire. The suit weighs around 20lbs, which would slow many people down, but Allie has trained with it for the past ten years and has adapted to its use.
  • Goggles - Eye protection that she wears while dragon riding and while navigating dense undergrowth.
  • Projection Shields - Buttons on the center of her chest and each wrist deploy electric force fields of varying sizes. The one from her chest will make a small bubble around her, capable of fitting one other small person, and the ones from her wrist create disc shields with an approximate 3-foot radius. They are capable of stopping bullets and unconcencrated plasma, and are somewhat resistant to dragon fire.
  • Twin Pistols - Allie has an automatic pistol strapped to either side of her waist. She carries six extra, loaded magazines, and each hold fifty rounds.
  • Extra Ammo, Food Rations, Dragon Saddle Bags - Allie carries an extra thousand rounds in Gorgio's saddle bags, as well as food for herself for a week.

Description - Cold steel cybernetic eye, with no attempt to hide it or the scar jutting from it. Hair cut tight, and always dressed in military uniform.

Weight - 52 kg (115 lbs) pre cybernetics, 68 kg (150 lbs) post cybernetics

Personal Information
Background - Born from a long line of military leaders, Riku was groomed practically from birth to be a commander. Though he barely passed the physicals, his mental acuity earned his rank.

After a training exercise incident, in which an accidental weapon discharge cost him his eye, it was assumed that his career would be over. After recovering, and receiving a cybernetic replacement, he returned to service with renewed vigor. His misfortune kept, as he would later suffer a back injury during sparring training. This would be his career ender, as he would live with a limp for the remainder of his life.

When Covensano was discovered, he opted to have his lower spine replaced so that he could serve his country and earn a lasting place in the history books. Unfortunately, this meant replacing his legs as well. He agreed without hesitation.

With his newfound mobility, he returned to service and personally oversaw containment and research into the captured dragon. He spared no mercy for the beast or his subordinates.

Background -
Born in one of the lab tubes as the new pinnacle of China's biotechnology, the Wu Mings are a set of homunculus made to serve their country without question, secretly of course. Some of them would be trained to become the most elite soldiers, some of them would be assigned to do lethal task that needs be done without risk of exposure to the public, and some of them would serve as a 'servant' for political figures. Yun? She and a few others were lucky to be picked for DDEC's project in the near future. The problem was there's only one dragon, and three assigned homunculus.

Goal was set, rivals were placed and facilities were provided. The three homunculus raced against each other in honing their potential. The winner took the dragon, and the other two would likely be sent to other less significant job. The dragon was Yun's sole reason for existing, and she didn't intends to give it up.

Yun felts like she was lagging behind compared to the other two, especially on combat department. She was panicking because the final candidate would be picked when they turned eighteen. At age 16, one of Yun's rival died because of food poisoning and then the other one died from having an illness just a few months before the final test. Leaving the DDEC's project with only Yun to choose.

Appearance - A silver dragon with a rather wide and flattened body, as if there's supposed to be bulky shells on her back. Her horns was used to be long and majestic, but it's now just a pair of polished lumps. Her wings are spread apart pretty far and can reach three times her body length.

Relationship - Having been experimented her whole life, Yin is wary against most humans and her first reflex when a stranger human enters her domain is by hiding. However she did marks some human to be more trustful than the other and Yun worked hard to earns that. The dragon and the rider realized that their existence tied heavily with this mission, whether they like it or not.

Background:
Garret Krüger (Krueger), born on August 11th 2436, is a Kommando Spezialkräfte (KSK) operative that has been selected for the task of exploring Covensano Island and as a human partner for the country's Long-eared Daycrest specimen.

Garret Krüger is the son of Jasmine Krüger, a British doctor, and Arend Krüger, a Generalleutnant in Deutschland's army. Garret had a privileged upbringing however despite this advantage in life or rather maybe because of it, Garret had a bad attitude. Abrasive, arrogant, all that topped off with a bad temper. Uncontrollable, never listening to either his father or his mother. This bad behavior had to be curved and quickly, Arend's answer to this debacle was to do what his father had done -- Enlist him in the Bundeswehr.

The grueling training did not fully rebuild Garret's character. He was still arrogant and abrasive but could actually listened and follow orders to the letter. The last taints of his personality evaporated when he lost his battle buddy Jakob Weber in an exhausting, 20 hour-long battle. His attitude changed for the better, becoming less arrogant and certainly less abrasive after experiencing such a lost. Eventually Garret had been selected for the operational forces of the Kommando Spezialkräfte, Deutschland's special forces. He passed with flying colors and was placed in 2nd Commando Company, 5th Platoon which specialized in intelligence operations, sniper operations and reconnaissance.

Garret's career, alone made him one of the obvious candidates for the Dragon Rider position. However what cemented him for the position, was Incident 1-A. Incident 1-A involves our dragon specimen breaking containment whilst our candidates for the position toured the installation. Among the candidates that were touring that day was 1Lt Krüger. The 1Lt along with the aid of staff, fellow soldiers and fellow candidates managed to subdue the creature via tranquilizers. There were no deaths during the incident but there were severe and life-altering injuries amongst the staff, one candidate was also injured but nothing debilitating. When interviewed about the event, Garret expresses sorrow for not being able to cleanly recapture the specimen.

Name: Oskar
Type: Long-Eared Daycrest
Appearance: Specimen Alpha, dubbed as Oskar by Garret, sports rough hexagonal scales with a blue tint. The coloration is different between the underside and the topside of the dragon, similar to that of an orca. The underside possess softer scales with a lighter blue, like a clear sky. While the topside has a darker shade of blue. This dragon is also one of the few dragons to have manes, starting from the top of the head and ending around the center of the back between the wings. The mane is white and soft to the touch. The ears are flexible, the backside has the same dark blue as the topside while the interior of the ears is also white. Oskar's eye color is a dim shade of yellow. Oskar's spiky tail has a fuzzy covering, white coloration to the covering while the spikes themselves appear a bony white.

Relationship: Specimen Alpha displays extreme hostility to anyone. The only exception is Garret himself. It is unknown why Specimen Alpha prefers Garret, by all accounts it should be Garret who he hates the most. Our behaviour specialists proposed a hypothesis that Oskar views Garret like a protective figure, perhaps seeing him like a father? It seems to be that way, according to observations when Oskar was purposefully separated from Garret, exhibiting signs of anxiousness and worry. This "bond" between Garret and Oskar yields increased effectiveness during simulated mission scenarios however It still displays some form of independence, going so far as to "disagree" with certain orders from Garret. To remedy this, we've installed a sub dermal chip around the area of the 2nd and 3rd vertebrae which causes debilitating pain. This action was protested heavily by Garret, citing that he can always come to a compromise. Whether his claims are true or not remains to be seen but until we can be absolutely sure, the chip will remain.

Garret spends most of his time with Oskar. Their activities range from practicing mission scenarios, partaking in trust exercises or more leisure activities such as a game of Hide-N-Seek. Garret himself is quite fond of the dragon, seeing him as sort of spiritual kin.

Description: Beren has a rather small and very athletic looking body. Her shoulders are broader than the ones of an average Turkish girl, her legs short and more sturdy. However, what might make her stand out the most, is the silvery arm that was applied to her right shoulder join. People tell that her arm had been removed due to a dragon’s bite. Beren’s skin looks sun-kissed even in the most coldest winter. She has dark-brown hair, that will fall down in loose waves whenever she wears it open yet she prefers to have it in a braid most of the time. Her face could be described as quite pretty. She has observing green eyes framed by long brownish lashes and thick expressive eyebrows. Her mouth is broad with full lips that will show a range of white teeth when she smiles or laughs which she might do quite often.

Background: Beren is the youngest in a family with three older brothers. When she was born, her family owned a prospering vineyard in Alacati at the west coast of turkey. Her father, Cemil, was a born farmer who owned the Atalar vineyard farm together with his brother Tezal. Her mother Ergem taught biology and agricultural economics at the local university. From a very young age, Beren was a curious and vivid being that had a huge interest in nature and technology. Since she grew up with five older brothers, she learned to fight, and defend herself from early on. Her brothers might also be the reason for her quite boyish interests since she had always preferred to spend her time tinkering at new inventions and playing with bows and arrows instead of using the new barbie A.I. Since she had to prove herself in front of her brothers from an early age, she developed very competitive characteristics.
When Beren was sixteen years old, two things happened: At the beginning of the year, she won a youth researchers prize together with her youngest brother for creating an intelligent cyborg plant that could oxygenate the air and control a room’s humidity at the same time. In that time, she was in nearly every turkish tv show, and was even allowed to shake the president’s hand. At the end of the year, her mother fell incredibly ill.
Her father Cemil who couldn’t concentrate on keeping the farm and nursing her mother, decided to sell the vineyard for the sake of his family and go back to his old job as a teacher. However, money grew short quickly and Beren didn’t want to be a burden to her parents with additional college costs. So, when she finished her high school with excellent grades, the invitation from the local science center came just the right moment.
They had heard about her back in the times when she won the youth researchers prize and scouted her for a job for the turkish government. When Beren heard about the monthly income which could be a huge help for her mother, she said yes immediately. For four years, she worked at the center and helped developing a suit that could compensate extreme temperatures and moistures. At the same time, she was receiving a scholarship for her undergraduate studies in physics and biology.
She was never told for what reason they developed the suit until she met Cano for the very first time. The dragon had been brought to the science center of Alacati for investigation. That time, she had just finished her studies and gained a permanently employed job at the innovation hub of the center. Her team was brought to Cano in their first week for studying his physics. Around that time, turkey started scouting the dragon riders which had already been announced years ago. However, Cano being scared and frightened by the transport, attacked the first human which was in his proximity after waking up from anesthesia, and that human was Beren Atalar who had been told give the dragon a sedative shot since the doctor was too afraid. Beren Atalar lost her right arm from the attack, and was in coma for weeks. When she woke up, her mother had died. Part of her knew her mother had been weak all along, but the other part blamed herself for frightening her mother too much.
Yet, instead of hating Cano, she knew that the dragon had just been afraid. She grew up in nature, and knew that animals were rarely aggressive for no reason. So, after recovery, she insisted to revisit the dragon and to help training him. Since no other woman had been chosen for the dragon riders, and everyone still knew the nation’s sweetheart that had won the prize back than, Beren was allowed to join the nation’s ten dragon riders.
Two years, they were trained and had to compete against each other. And paired with her intelligence, her knowledge and good natured character, she was finally the first and only one that Cano accepted as a rider on his back. From then on, both of them trained for their very first mission: Covensano Island.

Appearance: Cano has a sleek black body which is covered in scales that look slightly silvery at night. His eyes are colored in a dark yellow

Relationship: Cano was probably one of the dragons that was the most scared when being captured and transported into the middle of turkey. Back the, he was still a youngster, and therefore rather temperamental and aggressive. It wasn't Cano's intention to harm Beren when he bit her at the very beginning. It was one of his first actions that signaled 'Leave me alone, I am scared' which Beren knew. For example, instead of immediately jumping on his back as the other rider, Beren let the dragon calm down and get exhausted of flying away before climbing upon his back. She studied his behavior and his diet, communicated with his carers and and did everything to make Cano feel that he doesn't have to be afraid of her, because she won't harm him. And Cano remembered every single one of her actions. You can't say that both of them are friends now, but they are at a stage where they have mutually accepted each other's existence and are slowly growing more and more comfortable around each other. Beren tries to do everything to make Cano feel safe and at home, and Cano follows her directions in return.

Background -
Priyanka lived with her parents on an elephants reservation in India. That is where Priyanka grew up, among the elephants that her father studied. It was a fairly isolated existence out there with her father. But she didn’t mind so much. She far preferred the company of the elephants. But one day when she was eleven, she was helping feed some of the babies that they were caring for when she heard a a gunshot. She dropped the feed and ran out into the field behind her home and found her father sprawled on the ground, bleeding heavily and one of the nearby elephants, the proud bull Priyanka herself had named Chaman, and several poachers. At it turns out, these people were illegally hunting these Indian Elephants, and when her father tried to stop them, he was shot and fatally wounded. Priyanka herself tried to stop them, but she was dealt with quite easily- A blow with the butt of a rifle and she was down.

When the DDEC realized their attempts to create test tube babies was failing, they had to resort to finding a child to groom for their dragon project. They picked Priyanka from the orphanage because she had no family (Her mother and father being dead), she had prior experience with potentially dangerous large animals, and she was incredibly intelligent, her brain acting like a sponge and sucking up information like it was nothing.

At first she was resistant to the place- She didn’t care about their stupid policies and government jargon, she just wanted to go home and see the elephants again. But when she saw the dragon for the first time... oh man, she was hooked.

If she had been allowed a normal life would have definitely gone to a college in America for Zoology, much like her father. Priyanka worked with large pachyderms her entire life, so translating what she’s learned with Elephants to the large reptilian dragon wasn’t too hard of a stretch. She has read thousands of books on the biology of various kinds of animals, including quite recently, large reptiles like the Monitor lizard, Komodo dragon and crocodiles. This is useful because when you are studying brand new unidentified animals, you probably want a Zoologist. At the very least, a Biologist.
Melee Combat- (Combat Skill) She was trained in the martial art style of Kalaripayattu, a traditional Indian martial art style. She was trained in the sword, chakram, throwing dagger and dart.
Stealth- (Combat Skill?) Trained to stay quiet and slink in the shadows, she is perfect for silently sneaking into the greenery and vanishing from sight for a silent take-down.
Agility- (Physical Skill) The use of Kalaripayattu requires flexibility, grace, and control. Being light on one’s feet helps with such things.
Eidetic Memory- (Mental Skill) Give her time to studying something, she can recall it in perfect detail... within a few minutes.

Weaknesses -
Not a people person- (Optional Weakness) With animals, sure, she’s great. People? ... She hates people. People are terrible horrible creatures that hunt animals and sometimes even other humans to extinction. What’s good about people? NOTHING. Teamwork is difficult for her.
Guns? Forget it- (Combat Weakness) She hates guns. Yeah sure, she can shoot that stupid plasma rifle, but she‘s no marksman. Why shoot something when you can STAB it?
Ranged Combat- (Combat Weakness) She’s a Martial Artist, not some kind of sniper. She’s got to get to you first.
Glass Cannon- (Physical Weakness)
Yeah, she can deal some damage, but she can’t take a hit. Purest kind of Glass Cannon you can find.
Inferiority Complex- (Mental Weakness)
Priyanka, now dealing with genetically engineered supersoldiers, privileged shmucks and whoever else, being just some bumpkin her country plucked out of an orphanage, how could she not feel a little... “lesser than”. Well you know what? She’s gonna be better than EVERYONE. She doesn’t need any of those stupid enhancements! (ignoring the arm) She’ll be BETTER!

Name - Pangolin
Type - Common Tunneler.
Appearance -
A big girl, with beautiful thick scales reminiscent of her namesake creature, the pangolin, sandy brown in color. In fact, she shares many similarities to the giant pangolin. Her blunt head has a big bony plate on her nose, often used to help with digging and lifting things. Her foreclaws are long, built for tunneling and breaking through rock.
Height - 9 ft. tall and 54 ft. long.
Weight - 15,100 lbs.
Relationship - Pangolin was never a particularly difficult dragon, to say the least. For the most part she was docile and only really lashed out if someone hurt her. The way she saw it, it was better to just sit and do whatever these stranger creatures wanted, because trying to dig her way out had proven futile because the humans just caught her too quickly. Eventually she was introduced to a young woman named Priyanka, and while Pangolin liked Priyanka well enough- She was respectful, gave her as much space as she needed, and was a good conversationalist, Pangolin still wanted to escape. Eventually she managed to figure out that the large stone tiles on the floor of her enclosure could be pulled up and put to the side. Once she figured out that the cameras watching her had a specific amount of time they turned off, or turned away, she started to dig a tunnel to escape, pulling the tile up and digging as much as possible before replacing the tile and laying on top of it to feign innocence.

Of course, when people finally discovered what she was doing, there was a harsh reprimand. She spent too long tunneling and she was discovered. Troops were sent in to her tunnel to subdue her so she could be relocated to a new enclosure, but like any cornered animal, she fought back, with teeth and claws and hissing and roaring, which only made the treatment even worse. She was getting blasted even harder with stunning rounds, things were really starting to hurt and she was starting to get angry, but a shriek from the front of the tunnel caught not only her attention, but the attention of the soldiers as well. When she cranes her long neck up, she found Priyanka, but with something different- A shiny arm- whom was storming down the tunnel looking absolutely incensed. At first Pangolin thought that Priyanka was mad at her, but when the young finally reached the group, she started to shout at the soldiers! She was angry at them, not her! While Pangolin couldn’t necessarily understand what was being said, she managed to guess that Priyanka was telling them off to shooting her. When one the soldiers tried to object, the young human shouted angrily, “You want to know how you get a wild animal’s trust?!”
She grabbed the long barrel of the gun with her new shiny arm and with very little effort bent it backwards, making the gun unusable.
“BY NOT SHOOTING THEM WITH GUNS!

From then on Pangolin really liked Priyanka.
