Futuristic Exile

The idea is pretty basic and inspired by games like Homeworld and Mass Effect. A great galactic war is over and you are the losers, a remnant of a hated galactic empire. Only an attempt to safe face had stopped other new nations, now joined together in a loose confederation, from wiping you out. Your punishment for past sins makes the treaty of Versailles look like a slap on the wrist. You homeworld lost, your population cut down to less then a hundred thousands and armed forces a fraction to others races out there. Just a fleet in a exile to call home in a hostile galaxy and fate decrees the responsibility of figuring out what to do next is for a select few like yourself.

So kind of like (to use your Mass Effect reference) a combination of the Krogan Genocide and the Quarians losing their homeworld rolled into one?


What does the race look like? What do the other aliens look like? Did any race side with our losing side and get punished as well, maybe to a lesser extent?

Yeah that sort of mix. As of race I am thinking members of the empire are defined culturally and /or religiously rather than defined by race so players aren't limited in their characters. So for other cultures they will be various types, akin in ways to the citadel council though less united.
