This is a jump back in time, allowing a look into the past(s) of the older characters of EN. So, let's jump right into the lives of supernatural highschoolers, shall we? (Never thought I'd say that a day in my life.)

 

[Dire Wolf Devil]

The scene would begin with the three Alaois kids just outside their used-to-be home. Adrian in a bit of shock, and Reaver with clear hatred in his eyes. Ablaze, was the large wooden building. Nothing but man's red fire, the yells of their father's men, and the vicious noises of dire wolves that had worked on tearing apart all they could get their jaws on.

"Reaver... Reaver! C'mon, we've gotta go. Val, you too." Adrian voiced, placing a hand on Reaver's shoulder before moving his gaze to their mother's grave. His stomach turned. He didn't want to leave this place, he didn't want to leave her behind. But he had to. For the safety of his younger siblings, they all had to.

It wasn't until Adrian spoke that Reaver's mind eventually had clicked over what disaster had been brought. His eyes trembled, and his wolf ears instantly flattened. A puppy Rika at his side. "I..."

Chloe sighed, rolling over on Zuzana's bed with an exaggerated "Booored!" which escaped her during the previously mentioned sigh.

He didn't want to leave this place, he didn't want to leave her behind. But he had to. For the safety of his younger siblings, they all had to.

It wasn't until Adrian spoke that Reaver's mind eventually had clicked over what disaster had been brought. His eyes trembled, and his wolf ears instantly flattened. A puppy Rika at his side. "I..."

Chloe sighed, rolling over on Zuzana's bed with an exaggerated "Booored!" which escaped her during the previously mentioned sigh.

Valerie looked from their mother's grave to her brothers. She walked towards them, bringing them into a tight hug. "Let's go, okay? We can't be here too long. I . . . I don't want to be here too long, please." Her voice quiet, and tired as she blinked back her tears to be strong.

Graham leaned against the doorway, giving a small, ghostly smile at his sisters. "You wouldn't be so bored if you did your homework like Mrs. Savannah demanded." He was drawn into himself, kept on a leash by all regards. It was hard for him to understand his sisters, why they never studied, or was worried about their soon-to-be roles as Queens for someone. Bags laid under his eyes, his head was laying loosely against the door. He barely was able to stand. Yet, he stood strong in order to prepare for his upcoming role.

Valerie looked from their mother's grave to her brothers. She walked towards them, bringing them into a tight hug. "Let's go, okay? We can't be here too long. I . . . I don't want to be here too long, please." Her voice quiet, and tired as she blinked back her tears to be strong.

Graham leaned against the doorway, giving a small, ghostly smile at his sisters. "You wouldn't be so bored if you did your homework like Mrs. Savannah demanded." But anywhere was better than here.

Chloe paused, rolling onto her stomach as she'd sit up and look towards Graham. "But, I did mine already!... well... most of it. I'm still booored... when do you think dad's gonna be home?"

Adrian, as well as Reaver, had looked to Valerie. Clear concern seen in their eyes as they'd return the tight hug.

"Yeah. We'll go right now." Adrian spoke before looking to Reaver - whom picked Rika up in silence. Adrian took one last look at the place before wrapping his arms around Valerie and Reaver's shoulders before having brought them along in... no true direction. At least, not at the moment. But anywhere was better than here.

Chloe paused, rolling onto her stomach as she'd sit up and look towards Graham. "But, I did mine already!... well... most of it. I'm still booored... when do you think dad's gonna be home?"

Graham bit the bottom of his lip, he drummed his bitten nails to the door threshold as he thought. "Well the meeting is probably going to be for a while. So i don't think he'll be back until dinner time."

Mrs. Savannah came upstairs, the sound of her boots on the wooden floor was loud and defining. "Graham Cheshyre! Didn't I tell you to go and finish your study. You must understand how our history defines us." She grabbed him by the wrist and dragged him away as he waved sadly to his sisters a goodbye.

Valerie stood close, not wanting to look back as she walked forward to something that she couldn't see.

"S... so where do we go now?.." Reaver asked in near silence. His crimson irises focused on Rika as he tried to block out the distant growls. Rika softly licking his nose in the process.

"... We'll find somewhere. I promise, I won't have you guys living in any sort of squalor."

Chloe waved in return, moving so her back was then against the wall as she remained on the bed. "Poor Graham..."

"S... so where do we go now?.." Reaver asked in near silence. His crimson irises focused on Rika as he tried to block out the distant growls. Rika softly licking his nose in the process.

"... We'll find somewhere. I promise, I won't have you guys living in any sort of squalor."

Chloe waved in return, moving so her back was then against the wall as she remained on the bed. "Poor Graham..."

Valerie smiled up to her brother before looking to Reaver with a frown. She hated when he was like this. She then moved to sit on Adrian's shoulders as he gave her a piggyback ride. "There once was a woman from Que!" She shouted to the sky before breathing in again.

Alison looked above the bed with her giant glasses back on her face. She got up on Zuzu's bed. "We should get some candy and give it to him when the witch isn't lookin', right Zuzu?"

Zuzana gave a nod of agreement as she'd look to Alison, helping her onto the bed. "Mhmm, a nice couple of handfuls, at least. Maybe it'll help cheer him up a bit."

Adrian couldn't help but smile as he'd help Valerie onto his shoulders, his gaze shifting ahead as Reaver's eyes lit up in recognition of the Limerick. A soft laugh escaping him as he'd look to the sky and gave a 'toot toot' to join in. Freeing his hand to make like he was tugging on a horn.

However, he'd soon slow to a stop once Adrian stopped, tracing his line of site. "Whatchya see?"

Alison nodded before she looked down to her book. "I hope Dad comes home soon. He promised to read Dr. Zeus again for bedtime." She held the book to her chest.

Valerie moved a bit more into the front, but tried her best not to move Adrian. "Is that. . . there's so much fog, but is that a town?"

Alison nodded before she looked down to her book. "I hope Dad comes home soon. He promised to read Dr. Zeus again for bedtime." She held the book to her chest.

Adrian blinked, still keeping Val supported. "Looks like it."

"We got a place t' stay then!? I've got three gold fer an apartment!" Reaver exclaimed, Adrian arching his brow as he looked over to him.

"Where'd you get three gold?"

Reaver blinked, smiling innocently as he closed his eyes - the bruises and scratches on his face moving with his expression slightly. "... I fouuuuund it."

Adrian blinked, still keeping Val supported. "Looks like it."

"We got a place t' stay then!? I've got three gold fer an apartment!" Reaver exclaimed, Adrian arching his brow as he looked over to him.

"Where'd you get three gold?"

Reaver blinked, smiling innocently as he closed his eyes - the bruises and scratches on his face moving with his expression slightly. "... I fouuuuund it."

"D-D-Do you think they'll accept us in?" Valerie asked, afraid of rejection for how they looked.

Alison nodded before looking to Chloe and then back at Zuzu. "Wanna go and play outside? The fog is so cool to play in."

"Sadly, there's only one real way t' find out." Adrian spoke before heading in that direction. "Don't worry, though. A lot more people are accepting of our kind, nowadays. Just have our last name t' worry about..."

Reaver blinked, quickly following after them as he'd move a few sticks and such out of the way. "... Y-Y' think they'll know our family..?"

"Naaah." Adrian assured, soon pausing again as he'd, once more, look ahead once he saw a group of men on horseback escorting a carriage to the town. His eyes a bit wide.

Reaver blinked, looking to the men on horses before arching his brows. He'd then hug Rika a bit tighter to him once the escorts and carriage stopped. "C... Can they see us in the fog?"

Zuzana thought about it for a moment, leaning forward a small bit before eventually giving a quick, single nod. "Sure, why not? You wanna come, Chloe? You'll be less booored if you dooo." She grinned.

Chloe blinked, giving a grin of her own as she'd nod - jumping to her feet as she stood on the bed. "Out to the fog we go!"

"Sadly, there's only one real way t' find out." Adrian spoke before heading in that direction. "Don't worry, though. A lot more people are accepting of our kind, nowadays. Just have our last name t' worry about..."

She laid her cheek on her big brother's back, putting her extremely shaken hands into her jacket pockets. "There once a woman from Que." She said, trying to keep her breathing normal so she didn't freak out Reaver.

Alison hopped off the bed and zoomed down the hallway before being told not to by a butler Tave. She grabbed a handful of candy out of the candy dish and headed towards Graham's study. Once there she army crawled in the study, Mrs. Savannah staring at the window, smoking from her long pipe. She placed the candy in his pocket before waving at Graham. He smiled down at her as she disappeared out of the study.
"Graham! Are you even listening?" Graham stared through the door before looking back to Mrs. Savannah. "Of course, Mrs. Savannah. You were talking about how I shall recite the words made by Odin." She smiled, patting his head before turning back around and smoking. "Good, now read." And so he did as Alison ran outside.

While watching Adrian stand tall, Reaver did as Valerie had said. His little body scooting behind his siblings as Rika growled quietly towards the now slowly approaching men.

"You guys stay close, okay?" Adrian would quietly advise, shifting slightly as he'd stare at the silhouette of the... rather buff looking male, followed by a few others.

"She's so strict that it's scary..." Chloe muttered, Zuzana having nodded in agreement.

Alison also nodded as she jumped down the stairs and began to swirl around in the grass. "Yeah, i'm glad we'll be gone soon from her. School's going to be so much fun with everyone else. I'm going to make a bunch of friends and play chicken, chicken, turkey!"

Valerie got onto her tiptoes and whispered softly into Adrian's ear so that Reaver couldn't hear. "Do i take out the blade?"

Alison also nodded as she jumped down the stairs and began to swirl around in the grass. "Yeah, i'm glad we'll be gone soon from her. School's going to be so much fun with everyone else. I'm going to make a bunch of friends and play chicken, chicken, turkey!"

"Keep yer hand on the handle, but don't pull it out until you know y' feel threatened." Adrian silently spoke to Valerie in return as he'd kept his gaze ahead.

The larger figure slowed to a stop once he'd just barely become visible. "You're all out here in eerie weather, aren't you?"

Chloe would jump down, as well. A wide smile on her face. "I'm gonna get t' see more than just the palace yard! What're you excited for most, Zuzu?" As she asked, she spun to face Zuzana, whom walked down the steps with a smile on her face.

"I'm just looking forward to making friends outside of the family."

"Keep yer hand on the handle, but don't pull it out until you know y' feel threatened." Adrian silently spoke to Valerie in return as he'd kept his gaze ahead.

Valerie nodded, laying her hand gently on her waistband where the knife was hidden under her shirt. "So are you, stranger." She nodded, noticing the nice clothes and few bits of jewelry on the man.

Adrian subconsciously drummed his fingers on the blade in his pocket, eyeing the noble-dressed male.

The male chuckled. "Aaah, I suppose I am. Though, I can't control the dates of most meetings, sadly. Even if I am King."

"Did... you just say 'King'?" Adrian asked, brows furrowed over wide, surprised eyes as Reaver marveled quietly.

The male chuckled. "Aaah, I suppose I am. Though, I can't control the dates of most meetings, sadly. Even if I am King."

"Did... you just say 'King'?" Adrian asked, brows furrowed over wide, surprised eyes as Reaver marveled quietly.

"Hey! Is the school by the water, at all?" Chloe instantly asked, looking between her sisters with a bit of excitement. Never really knowing why, she'd always seem to find herself by the water.

"King? No King would even come near street rats. You're just trying to hustle us!" Valerie got in front of Adrian now, squinting at the tall man even though she was practically only three feet tall.

Alison looked up to the clouds for thought before looking back at Chloe. "There's a lake and a few pounds, why?"

Adrian blinked a few times, watching Valerie before he looked back up to the male - whom kept a rather friendly grin on his face.

"Your hostility is understandable." He'd calmly speak, keeping his hands off his weapons. "But I'm of no threat to any of you. I promise, Cheshyre's honour."

"We gonna find you there like when dad kept finding you at the docks?" Zuzana raised a curious brow.

Adrian blinked a few times, watching Valerie before he looked back up to the male - whom kept a rather friendly grin on his face.

She blinked, "It's . . . Cheshyre, sweetheart."
"Thank you, you can go now." The woman stood there, stunned for a few seconds before walking away. "So you're telling the truth, eh? So if you're the King, don't you have business to do" She crossed her arms, scowling, still in front of Adrian.

Alison nodded, "or like that time where Mom found you in the empty bathtub, trying to figure out how to turn it on. You could've died."

Valerie squinted before running and grabbing someone. She came back with a lady who seemed dazed and confused. She pointed to the man. "Who is that?"

Alison nodded, "or like that time where Mom found you in the empty bathtub, trying to figure out how to turn it on. You could've died."

"Vaaalll, be nice t' the King..." Reaver whined from behind Adrian with a near-silent voice, most of his worry towards the idea that Grant and his men wouldn't tolerate the behaviour.

Grant simply watched, glancing to the woman Valerie had brought over before then looking back to Valerie. And, still, he kept a smile on his face. "I do, but I merely figured you three could use some help, is all." Rika barked, Grant lifting a brow before having chuckled. "My apologies. Four." He'd then look in the direction of the distant smoke as the fog had cleared just enough for him to spot it. "I take it you came from that direction?.."

"Vaaalll, be nice t' the King..." Reaver whined from behind Adrian with a near-silent voice, most of his worry towards the idea that Grant and his men wouldn't tolerate the behaviour.

Grant simply watched, glancing to the woman Valerie had brought over before then looking back to Valerie. And, still, he kept a smile on his face. "I do, but I merely figured you three could use some help, is all." Rika barked, Grant lifting a brow before having chuckled. "My apologies. Four." He'd then look in the direction of the distant smoke as the fog had cleared just enough for him to spot it. "I take it you came from that direction?.."

Valerie looked back to Reaver before clinging to her brother's arm. "Maybe we came that way." She looked back towards the smoke, her ears still ringing from the far off screams. "What do you want out of helping us? People always have motives, even if you are a King and seem nice. People always always have motives. So what's yours . . . sir?"

Valerie looked back to Reaver before clinging to her brother's arm. "Maybe we came that way." She looked back towards the smoke, her ears still ringing from the far off screams. "What do you want out of helping us? People always have motives, even if you are a King and seem nice. People always always have motives. So what's yours . . . sir?"

"You were only one, i don't know how you got in the tub!" Alison laughed, throwing her hands up.

"My motive?" Grant put some thought into it before giving a friendly chuckle, crouching to eye-level of the three. "My motive is simply to leave no one in any sort of danger. Now, what I see here is three kids and a dire wolf pup that are currently without a home." He would speak as if he knew exactly what happened, or, rather, if he'd seen what the three kids lived through in passing at least once or twice. Maybe he did know? He was the King, after all. "Call me wrong, and I'll back off the subject... but just know I've got a place for you all to stay."
