I like digimon but I feel like my digimon knowledge may be lacking. Do the digivolutions have to follow the strict tree or can it be like in games where theres a much wider choice to digivolve from. My favourite mega seems to be pretty specific in who can digivolve into him (I know mega is looking way too far ahead in the future)

If you go to Wikimon and look up the digimon you wish to have, you can go for any tree not just a set tree. It has a list of what the digimon can evolve into.
