as the magnet train slowed to a stop, red was just releasing his grip on a pole for balance when he felt his pocket vibrate. Adjusting his earpiece, he tuned into the call. “Red, it’s Lance.”
“Yeah.”
“How was Azalea?”
“Confirmed Bugsy is still running the gym, he doesn’t seem to have a clue about anything going on.”
“Hmm... I wonder if they’re surpassing small cities, if they skipped Azalea I wonder if they’re — “
“In Goldenrod? I’m already here, stepping off the train now.” Answered the Kanto native, who adjusted his cap forward facing so the bill of his symbolic hat covered his eyes just a bit.
“Good. Go visit Whitney, make sure she’s okay,” The dragon tamer requested. “I’m going to be notifying my sister to keep an eye on the league while I’m gone.”
Red was listening intently as he stood in the dispersing crowd of others leaving the train, when a small frame bumped into him and made an irate series of grumbles not entirely to herself. “Plenty of benches around, ‘guy, would it kill you to not be a human obstacle?”
He peered over his shoulder at the brunette in question, but that was all he could see of her as she turned with annoyance and left in the opposite direction.
“...Everything okay? Who was that?”
“Just some girl,” red let her remake slide off like water on a poliwags back, before he began to proceed forward off the train station premises and down towards the hulk of the city.

”honestly, some people...” murmured the girl, who hurried down from the stations platforms out into the busy streets of goldenrod. She tactfully kept just in between the street and the sidewalk to avoid unnecessary bumping around. Distantly, the broadcasts of the radio tower rode on the wavelengths in the air, currently it was Mary talking about her own personal stories which interested elsie much less than Samuel Oaks official talk show, hitch she listening to every time it aired during the weeks. She found it more informative.
“Department store, or challenge Whitney?” She pondered to herself, coming to a corner on the streets that faced the towering shopping center which was very busy as expected. A few blocks away would be the gym known for its “cute normal type” and elsie wasn’t exactly in a hurry to be surrounded by so much pink and perfume. “I could spend money, or I could earn money,” she told herself, and then cocked her head back with a sigh. “Earning it is.”
And the skinny saucy girl made an abrupt turn, and started towards the gym. She considered her team, versus Whitney’s — trainers never knew for sure what the gym leaders party would be, or what they would do. She had to consider the unexpected, but didn’t have a lot of experience to know what that would be. “I’ll save scyther for last, as usual,” Elsie murmured, but then that pegged the question of kabuto or larvitar going first.
