• Thirty years ago, a portal opened up somewhere in North America. We don't know why yet. But it released a race we like to call the Darkness. These new animals include floating balls of light called Pixies, multicolored slimes, and even unicorns. The animals can appear out of thin air even inside of buildings, so be cautious.
• Over a few hundred years of rebuilding in the comet's radius, humans developed... well... magic. At first, there were only five different kinds.
  
  
  

  Mirror

  The user can create magical mirrors to deflect magical attacks. They can be broken easily by punches or anything physical, but if shattered, you can control the leftover shards of "glass" for other effects.

  Lava

  User can generate lava. It cools only about a second after created, but the leftover Obsidian can be controlled for other purposes.

  Void

  Warps space to get a desired effect. Though powerful, it requires every bit of focus you have or else you won't get what you wanted.

  Water

  User can control nearby water. It can be turned into ice (though it can't be changed back).

  Light

  User can solidify light into an object or cast light in it's normal form.

  
  
  
  In another few hundred years, which is where we are, these five types of magic split up into even more. Not only that, but people born with these new magic types also had body parts (such as wings) to match. Of course, not everyone does, but some.
  
  
  

  Flora

  User can control plant growth. People with this usually have a few leaves growing on themselves.

  Earth

  User can control soil or stones. People with this sometimes have rocks here and there.

  Lightning

  User can generate electricity. They don't have extra body parts, but they do tend to gain static...

  Wind

  User can manipulate air. These will generally have wings.

  Fire

  Like lava, but with fire. No obsidian is involved, but the flame is controllable. Your hair will shine when you use this ability.

Even though humanity's doing perfectly fine, the radius of the comets is getting crowded, and soon we'll need to fight back the Darkness to reclaim what was once ours. *Note: If you choose to be a teacher at Aurora, you need to have one of the first five magical abilities listed.

Due to the lack of interesting (and not dead) RPs, I'm starting to feel a little Hollow. The fantasy threads are being corrupted by Highschool RPs, which I despise.

Good one. But this was a Fantasy and somewhat of a highschool roleplay, and I'm starting to wonder why you posted here in the first place if you hate those things so much.
