finally biting the bullet to make a search thread so i can seek out new partners for my current cravings (β‘ΛΝ κ³ ΛΝ) call meuxie; i'm21+and i go byshe/her/theypronouns!
i've been writing for about ten-odd years (and on rpn for EIGHT. that's crazy!) and i consider myself asemi-advancedwriter. i tend to churn out posts of about300-500 wordson average, but i've found a soft spot for posts as short as 100-200 words as of late! albeit, only with writers i can trust to give me enough to work with in a shorter number of words (Β― . Β―Ω₯) you can check below for a few samples of my writing!

muse a is a talented musician, mad with grief. he thinks of throwing away his career, he thinks of throwing away even more. a week after her passing, he stumbles through the streets of the busy city when he catches a glimpse of someone who looks like her, and a whiff of the jasmine perfume she always wore. following her brings him to an underground music bar, and when he slips into the dingy, dimly-lit place, he spots her immediately.
muse bis the spitting image of his girlfriend, down to the way she tucks her hair behind her ear. and when she catches his eye from across the bar and smiles, he knows he is beyond help.
β essentially a modern retelling of orpheus and eurydice, with a few little changes. there's a lot i'm not adding here for the vibes, but i'd be happy to share if this plot catches your fancy! would prefer this to be mxf just because i love the way men love but i'm negotiable on this!

β¦muse aand muse b are the two favourite consorts in the royal court; always at odds, in a perpetual bid for the emperor's favour.muse ais the daughter of a high noble family, spoiled and a little sheltered, while muse b hails from a faraway kingdom, having fought to establish her footing within the court. their rivalry is no secret to any within the court and their relationship nothing else but one of animosity, trading sharp words and cruel jabs at every turn.
when a new consort arrives and shakes up the entire court, both find themselves cast aside in favour of her. a chance encounter leaves them wondering if there was more to the other woman than they'd previously thought, and it is through repeated meetings that a friendship blossoms between them. as they grow closer, they find themselves yearning for a life beyond the cold walls of the palace.
β please note, given the period setting, that i'm only interested in writing this with someone who's already somewhat familiar with how imperial courts in historical china worked. i was thinking for this to go in a similar direction to one of my favourite poems, where they fake their deaths and run away! would also be open to speeding it up and writing them building a new life elsewhere too!!! β‘ the backgrounds of each muse are flexible, if you have other ideas too!

eons ago, muse b was their human lover. a love between an immortal and a human was never meant to last, only muse b was not content to leave their love goodbye. they acquired immortality by the very same means with which muse a came to possess it; where they thought muse a would be overjoyed, they are greeted only by their lover's horror. muse a abandons them, never to be seen again.
today, muse b has fully embraced their new longevity, thriving in the many lives they live through. they return home to find muse a on their doorstep with only a single request: for them to end muse a's life.
β would consider vampires for this too! in my friend's words, the lord & the hermit vibes. romance very optional for this, depending on how it develops but i dig the lingering feelings vibe.... okay with either role for this!

he's grown irritable, recently, with a growing whisper on the street of the existence of witches.women are burned at the stake for little more than an accusation, but he reminds her, coldly, that she would never have to worry about anything like that as his wife. if only she would have more to show for her status.
a small batch of new servants have arrived at the manor recently, lighting up silent hallways with quiet laughter. of them, a single servant,muse b, close in age to muse a stands out. she seems peculiar, cautious, and is no less so even as the two begin to form a bond.
in the dead of night, just as april gives way to may, muse a spiesmuse bwhispering to a cat β she lights a flame from her finger, makes a wish, and blows out the candle.
β obviously, she's a witch! would like the lore of the world & the witches to be inspired by world of your eternal lies, which is a pseudo-western society in the late 1800s - 1900s. i highly recommend reading it, but i'm happy to fill you in on it otherwise! romance negotiable, husband-killing mandatory. we'll make him real bad.

muse bis a girl from college he knows little about. they're in the same year and major/club, but they've exchanged pleasantries maybe once since entering college. he's content never finding out much more about her, only for a friend to let it slip to him that he's been crushing on her for years.
muse a thinks he's making a kind gesture when he pairs them together; his friend confesses, they go out, and everyone's happy!
except, his power didn't seem to work on her.muse bis the opposite of interested, and the confession goes terrible β muse a steps in to save her from it, only to find her staring at him starry-eyed in class the next day. he comes to find she's far more zealous than he thought, wrapped in her courtship attempts at every turn. at times, it seems playful, and at others, it seems she's serious about winning him over.
and, well, for a love expert who's never fallen in love, he's not sure how to feel about it all.

β¦muse a lives in an era a little different than what we know of. the foundation of a dystopia has been set, but we're not quite there yet. their life is mundane, mediocre, and perhaps a little miserable, but they are no less curious and kind than before life introduced them to its woes.
whenmuse bsuddenly drops into their life, they are smitten from the moment they meet. there is something inexplicable that draws muse a to her, an enigma beneath her smile that begets them to know more.muse bmakes it clear they are not from around here, nor can they stay long.
when they make to leave, muse a, against their better judgment, follows them discreetly.
they tumble head-first into a portal, thrust into a future of sleek concrete and flying cars.muse bis understandably livid, but when the way back is broken, she has no other choice but to take muse a with her. commence a fun, dangerous, little adventure through the time-space continuum, running for their lives from crazy future-time-police!

years later,muse ahas become a successful soloist. she is presented with an opportunity to make her acting debut in a web-drama, only to find that her co-star is veteran idol muse b, now a popular icon of the industry. there are no hard feelings, but they can't say there aren't feelings; try as they might to keep things professional, they can't help but reminisce the old days.
