Fandom {CLOSED} Camp Half-Blood: The Titan's Son

Fawn yelped at Jin nearly got attacked. She was more than happy to double back to the flag when Jin suggested it. "We can get pretty close. I wouldn't suggest being right on top of it because if you get over powered there won't be a line of defense behind you but it's best to get pretty close." Fawn answered Jin as she turned and started jogging towards the flag.

Then Jin mentioned Luthius.

Fawn clenched her jaw tightly and stopped jogging. Her usually kind and soft expression hardened. "We don't speak of that brute." Fawn mumbled as she started walking to the flag again. There was a history there that Fawn would rather not think about.

A red banded boy started running towards Fawn and Jin, but Fawn could see him coming from a good thirty seconds away. She flicked her wrist and a thorned vine wrapped around the boy's leg and made him fall. The vine quickly disappeared after a moment. "C'mon, we're too exposed out here." Fawn mumbled, jogging once more.

Jin watched approvingly as Fawn incapacitated an attacker with ease. As strange as the girl might have been from their initial encounter, and as much as she superficially appeared to be a pansy, she was proving to be a formidable asset. Jin was impressed, if not slightly jealous, that the girl already had such mastery over her own capabilities. Meanwhile, Jin herself seemed limited to two things: running away or uncontrollably shocking things as an unreliable defense mechanism. She'd used the sword only once thus far, and even that had been somewhat of an accident.

Jin studied the sword in her hands. It didn't seem like anything special-- old and kind of rusty, somewhat dull at the edges. She didn't even know how to use a sword. At this point, it was more of a liability than it was an asset, but Jin was burdened with keeping it anyway, for fear that, were it to end up in someone else's hands, it could do far more damage.

"What do you know about Luthius?" Jin asked, unable to help herself. If he was a threat, it would be particularly useful for her to know how, or why, whether or not Fawn was feeling talkative. Jin watched the flag, standing around three meters away, a tantalizing reward for all her enemy combatants. Jin narrowly dodged a violent swing of someone else's sword. As the swordbearer attempted to regain herself, Jin rammed her shoulder into the girl's side, shoving her roughly onto the ground. Jin kicked her sword away. Hardly a permanent solution, but Jin continued moving around the flag. She couldn't be trusted with wielding the sword Luthius had tossed to her. Jin absolutely refused to be responsible for someone's missing extremities.

As she moved nearer to the flag, Jin suddenly found herself tackled to the ground, head hitting the dirt beneath her. "Ugh--" Jin yelled in alarm as she disorientedly pushed the boy off of her. He was strong, but not nearly as muscular as Luthius, though perhaps that was a difficult challenge to beat at thirteen. When Jin wiped her mouth, shakily standing back up on her feet, blood came away with her knuckles. She must have bit herself as she fell.

The boy was running to the flag. Damn it, he was fast. Jin shouted again, this time in frustration, and chased after him even as her surroundings seemed to swim.

"STOP!" she screamed, hand clawing out before her. For a terrifying second, it felt like fire in her fingers, before relieving numbness. She had shocked the boy, it seemed, upon almost touching him. He was on the ground, writhing in pain, as if he were being eaten by some invisible fire. Jin stared, horrified. What a sight she was, eyes wide with terror that she was responsible for, a small bump slowly forming on a swollen lip, blood smeared across her chin and knuckles. Perhaps she would lose herself to this lifestyle if she stayed here any longer. A savage.

Fawn sighed at the question. What doesn't she know about Luthius. "I know he's a brute and a liar and a - watch out!" Fawn yelped as a red-band swung at Jin. Jin dodged the sword and Fawn gave a soft sigh of relief. She was quite frightened that one or both of them would be severely injured. Jin kicked the girl's sword away from her and Fawn ran to pick it up.

Fawn hated swords. They were violent, destructive, and they drew blood. Fawn much preferred blunt objects. But at the moment, Fawn had little other choice in weapons and there was another red demigod charging at her.

Fawn lifted the sword to block a blow, but the blow still made her stumble back. She wasn't physically strong enough to really fight. The red demigod swung at her again and Fawn blocked it. She was starting to panic a bit. Fawn couldn't fight well enough to hold this demigod off for long. The demigod swung again and Fawn again blocked the blow. She tried to swing herself, but the demigod. blocked the blow with ease. Fawn slowly started backing up, but she kept herself perpendicular to the flag so that even as she retreated she'd lead this attacker away.

Fawn blocked blow after blow, still stumbling back. She was terrified, but also not too terrified. She couldn't be mauled or seriously injured, that was against the rules, but she didn't want to be injured at all really. There was little she could do to avoid that, though. Fawn knew she was nearing a small drop-off in the woods, but she couldn't do anything about it. She was going to fall. The demigod swung again and Fawn blocked, but the force of the collision made her stumbled backwards and off the edge.

The young girl tumbled down the side of the drop. Small twigs and rocks cut open her skin so that by the time the fall came to an end, Fawn was covered in little nicks and bruises. "Damn me." Fawn mumbled. She had dropped her sword along the way and didn't know where she dropped it.

A sudden kick, straight into a tree. The demigod's guard was broken as his center back made contact first with the tree, forcing his arms to stretch out away from him, grunting heavily and beginning to cough. That was, of course, until Luthius threw a massive left hook into his throat, staring ahead of him as he heard the choking, painful sounds the male made to his left. As he heard the boy's knees connect with the ground, only then did he continue to march, his eyes aflame with the battle.

As Luthius marched, his lust for blood and combat only grew more. Ten, so far, had fallen to his flail, as well his fist. He marched with pride, in his own mind he preached to himself. 'I am an abomination.' He took steps along with an arrogant head lifted highly, his flail swinging gently next to him as his arms swayed like it was a normal day. 'Before me my path to pave, behind me destruction and the dissipating smell of victory. I am he who was born from Lions, and no Eel nor Hawk shall tear my flesh.' Of course, these self-motivating thoughts had to be cut short, as a new scenario was placed in front of him.

A sword. Blue-band, by the color of the handle. He stared to it with curiosity, his head turning to the left like a dog. Lifting up the sword, he noticed its familiarity, he'd combated with this sword before. Of course, he's fought against all swords, but this one was.. special. It held memory. He remembered a certain rage within the specifics of this blade. His eyebrows frowned, trying to remember it, until of course the memory blew its own cover as it spoke.

"Damn me."

He looked to his left, along the steep drop above him, where Fawn seemed to have fell down. A grin was behind the helm of his mighty stature as he marched straight towards her, sword in hand. He halted directly in front of her. "Hi Fawn." He spoke strongly out to her, making sure she knew he was there. His eyes could be the only seen thing upon his face, crawling past his helmet, glowing with the hatred that flowed through his vessel like a volcanic eruption. His grip upon her sword was tight, strong, menacing. He kept eye contact with her for a bit, until he tossed the sword suddenly into the air, catching it by the end of the blade, holding the handle out to her.

"Good to see you again, how've you been?" The brute asked her gently, a smile starting to form heard in his voice. Yet, at the same time, a sense of resistance could've been picked up from the way he spoke. As if he was in the position to strike her down- end her right there!- yet chose not to. He knew what she thought of him, he could tell by how she looked to him, but that mattered not. He was still considering her a conversation piece, for now.

"I'd love to chat, but this isn't the time." He stated a few moments after his question. He turned around and began marching back to his flag. Turning his head to face over his right shoulder, he shouted, his voice deepening and growing more violent: "Don't get too close to the flag!!" As if that was his friendly little farewell. With that, he caught glimpse of an opposing demigod, clad in blue cloth and armor, sprinting towards the flag. His flag. With that he gave quick chase, disappearing into the woods in a matter of seconds, his feet pounding into the ground. Perhaps after a few moments she'd have been able to hear the sudden shouts the boy made, perhaps not.

Fawn froze. She knew that voice. She dreaded that voice. There were too many memories attached to that voice. So many images came up whenever she heard it. Blood, the flail, the armor... Fawn looked to Luthius with an expression of utter terror. "Luthius..." Fawn whispered.

He was massive. Tall and muscular, wearing the most impressive suit of armor Fawn had ever seen. He held both his own flail and her sword. That fact alone struck terror into Fawn's heart. The two of them were alone in the middle of the forest in the midst of Capture the Flag. Luthius was known to be ruthless in these games. And Fawn had nothing to protect herself with. This could not possibly end well. But his stature wasn't the thing that really frightened Fawn. It was his attitude. It was the way he was proud of the monster he had become. His pride in his brutality... it made her feel sick.

Luthius tossed her sword into the air and Fawn gasped, quickly ducking behind a tree. Her heart was racing. He was going to kill her. Yep, that was what was about to happen. She was going to die. She wanted to run away, but she couldn't. She had no where to run. Not to mention that Luthius could probably catch up with her.

"Good to see you. How've you been?"

Fawn paused. She then poked her head out, looking at him from behind the tree. Luthius was offering her the sword. Fawn slowly approached, ready to turn and run at any moment. "I... I've been alright.... How about you?" Fawn hesitantly took the sword. Then Luthius said that this wasn't the time to chat and Fawn caught herself rolling her eyes. Why start a conversation you have no intention of finishing? Fawn nodded. He then bellowed for her to stay away from the flag and ran off.

Fawn gave a small sigh of relief and stumbled back a couple steps. "Oh thank the gods." She whispered. Her heart started to slow down, her blood pressure dropped back to a normal level. Fawn looked around and decided that maybe she'd just sit the rest of this match out.

Nik's heart began pounding as he continued onward toward where the opposing camper's flag was surely located. Nik didn't know these woods well, but judging by where those two campers he had fought came from, it was a safe bet to assume he was heading in the right direction. Nik began to look behind him as he ran, accidentally running into what seemed like a brick wall. Nik's body flew back a bit as he groaned from the impact. "What in the world was tha—" Nik's eyes widened as they laid onto what he ran into.

Eye contact was of the utmost importance at this moment. Pouring into the young boy's eyes would be a sudden disgust, as well rage. Had this boy dared to ignorantly sprint directly into him? As he stood there, simply staring at the boy on the ground, his right arm would suddenly flinch, releasing his flail so that the metal sphere hit the dirt forest floor. Roaring mightily, as if this child had murdered his parents, he spun into his right arm, taking the flail and swinging it directly from atop onto the ground.

Expecting him to dodge it, he emitted a second action in the same exact method, though it was much faster, as well causing a much larger explosion than the slower. Yanking the chain back he swung the chain once in a circle, chucking it directly towards Nik. That was, of course, if Luthius was good at aiming. Sailing just by the boy, a soldier charging in from behind them took the mighty blow, sending him at least three feet from the ground, making him disappear behind the small hill. Luthius cared not, though, as he continued to jog forward, pulling his chain back and wrapping it up so that there was a foot of leeway on the chain, closing in on the boy.

Nik's luck was beginning to run out as the obviously more experienced boy swung his flail about, and after watching the result of how hard that flail hit, Nik didn't want to take chances. He steeled his nerves and readied his shield should he need it, and he most definitely would. His hand awkwardly gripped the sword harder, as he pointed towards the lion-covered male. "Just because you got a yo-yo that could crack a skull doesn't mean you should. Why don't we put our weapons down huh?"

The demigod looked to his opponent, so much frailer in size. His words stung his anger like a tetnus shot on a rusted wound. "You talk too much." Luthius barked out quickly, dropping his chain, suddenly letting it all fall out, ripping where it connected to his shoulder blade as he leapt high into the air, sending his left arm, which his shield clasped to, downwards, aiming for the metal rim of his shield to make contact with Nik's shoulder area.

There wasn't much Nik could do about the sheer intensity the angered demigod put into his strike. Nik attempted to swipe the demigod's attack away with his own shield, turning his entire body to do so. Nik's left shoulder blade was visible as the demigod's body had no where to go but downward still. It was a clumsy motion and the two crashed down into the ground. Nik recovered quicker than the other boy, standing and running as fast as he could towards the flag. That would end the game right? If he got the flag?

And indeed it would, if he was able to. Although he was more agile than that of Luthius, it is inevitable that the more muscular beings sprint faster than those of a lighter frame. So Nik would continue to race towards the flag, kicking into the air with all his will. And suddenly, while he was nearing the flag, he would be lifted into the air, his thighs locking up. Only because they were furiously hugged together by the son of Hercules' arms. Turning towards his left, Luthius noticed the steepness that the rocky hill created, and so he leapt into the air, letting himself fall over, as Nik would receive a face full of rocks as his own head was protected greatly.

Nik couldn't have been happier that he thought to bring the shield with him, even if it did slow him down tremendously. He brought the large disc up to protect his head, even if hitting his cranium against the bronze was uncomfortable as well, it was better than the many rocks beneath the metal. Nik kicked his feet, making contact with something that allowed him to wiggle out of the angry boy's clutches. He didn't have time to look back as he continued up the mound towards the flag, drawing more and more near.

No. No no no!!! The little brat still found some "All for one" aura in himself to charge up the mound! Not for long, not on his watch. He was a son of Hercules!!!! Within an instant had he shot his right hand around Nik's left ankly, yanking him so he would fall down and slide so that his back was in bashing range. And bashing he would deliver. Holding onto his ankle the entire time, Luthius began slamming his shield into the spinal area of his opponent's back, yanking him back as he was knocked farther away to keep him in beating range.

The demigod's shield repeatedly bashed into Nik's back, the pain was almost completely unbearable, and Nik could feel his consciousness begin to fade. But that didn't stop him from wildly kicking his free leg. His foot connected with something and he could feel that the beating had paused. This was his chance and Nik took it. He stumbled up the remainder of the mound, his goal was in arms reach and this sufferable game would end soon!

A direct connection of the warrior's heel and his forehead was made, as he fell back suddenly. Shaking his head he threw himself up, roaring as he climbed violently up the side of the mountain. There was a good six foot difference between the two of them, which forced the boy to command something he dared not use freely. Within a second had his muscles weighed a ton, leaping with both legs high into the air, smashing down just behind Nik, making him trip and grasp for the flag. "NO!!!!" Roared Lithius over the crowd of warriors around them, two circles fighting each other to keep from the duel at the top of the mound. With sudden thought had the brute decided to grasp onto the boy's right foot with both of his hands, swinging him from the top of the mound away from the flag. But as the boy flew by did he realize he carried with him a red, glorious banner, and with that the rage built inside of him. his fists were balled as he yelled into the air. But as he would look down, he would realize that the game had ended. And end it did, in the most miserable of ways.

Nik couldn't have felt more proud as he got so close to winning, it was shortlived as he heard the mighty crash of the now roided demigod. Nik fell into the rocks and grasped for the flag's pole, right as he felt hands clasp his ankle. Things happened so slowly, too slowly. Nik had the flag in his hand, and it was beautiful, but he was in the air and now he took everything in. People had stopped to watch him descend. Zues' fist—as they called it— was already taller than the treeline, to say the fall was high was saying the least. Nik couldn't even begin to describe the searing pain. His back broke in place he could imagine while he felt a stabbing pain in his lungs. It felt like it lasted an eternity, but right as the pain went away. So did the lights.

(Here's where the fun begins, and sorry that Capture the Flag had to end so early. It was just to push the plot.)

The conversation had ended dryly. The boy named Nik had barely acknowledged her, and the not-satyr was rather uninterested as soon as Nik had shown up. Maybe Mara had managed to offend her with the whole manner of her father? Whoops. "Yeah, right, see you or not," Mara answered with a shrug. She didn't really care if she had to fight the girl or not. It seemed easy anyhow.

After a short jog, she had arrived in the midst of the red team, tying a red band to her head. She smiled, feeling the pure emotion of everyone around her, getting amped up for the fight. She may have been weak, and unskilled in combat, but her powers allowed her to work with emotions, although she seemingly didn't need to. Luthius was doing a decent job of hyping everyone up for the fight, although his words were... concerning. As fun as fighting was, these were fellow campers after all. So, she made a little use of her power, providing a bit of... energy for everyone, that battle rage that inspires success. As much as her cousins believed that strength was all that mattered, it really was morale too, that made up a key part of success. Then again, Mara was sure that if she was strong enough, she'd go right in, mace swinging.

She hung back during most of the fighting, acting in support of her teammates. Blocking blows, attempting distractions, occasionally knocking people over when a teammate seemed in danger. She couldn't swing the mace regularly enough to do much real fighting on her own, but it certainly didn't stop her from trying. She was helping defend against a blue push on her flag, keeping blues back from helping whatever brave fool was fighting Luthius alone.

However, the battle died in an instant, as many of the kids simply stopped fighting. Mara found herself confused, before turning towards the flag, seeing Nik lying broken on the ground before the Fist, flag in hand. It took her a moment to understand what had happened, and a moment more to understand that the unclaimed boy wasn't going to be getting back up. For a moment, she did not react, but then, a rage. He had been entirely serious about what he had said, she realized. This animal had just murdered another demigod over a gods damned game. She turned towards the Fist, mace in hand, ignoring the blue team campers behind her.

She quivered with anger, but did not step forward. He had done this before. She knew that well. There was nothing any of them could do about it, or they'd likely be next. So, she simply kept her mouth shut, arms shaking with the mace held in an iron grip.

Jin turned as she heard the commotion-- only to see a figure falling from a large pile of rocks, a familiar shape. Stunned, she stared as Nik fell to the ground, red clutched in his hand. A sickening crack. Then, nothing. His body was so still.

Jin screamed.

Nik was still not moving.

In a mad rush, Jin scrambled lopsidedly toward the boy. Her ears were ringing and simultaneously pounding with the sound of her own heartbeat. The ground swept up close to her when she nearly tripped, her balance thrown off by what must have been a minor concussion. Her head screamed for relief from the thudding pressure, the trauma of watching a young boy die. She fell on scraped knees when she neared the body.

Nik was lying still. Jin couldn't reach out to touch him, for fear that she'd throw up. The first death she had ever witnessed, caused by a boy that had just earlier thrown her over his shoulder, someone who claimed to be her cousin. Her vision swam.

"Oh god," she murmured, dazed, "oh my god. Are you dead? Are you really dead?" His chest was not moving. He looked pale-- paler than he was meant to look. Like a broken doll that some rough child had swung down too harshly, ignorant of the delicate strings in a marionette's body. Jin turned, slowly, looking up at Luthius. His body was blurring before her. Jin felt bile in her throat slowly rising as lightning crackled around her quietly, unevenly, uncontrollably. It was like its host, unstable and in a questionable state. Jin swallowed. There was a dead body in front of her. There was a murderer in front of her. She watched a killing today.

"You did this?" she said, still vacant, haunted. "Luthius? You did this."

The heartbeat pounding, like a war drum, within his ears. The feeling of death in his veins, a trouble breathing as his sudden blessing began to fade. Muscles stiffened, slowly growing to loosen up. A feeling of dread, as now his heartbeat halted, and silence was all around him.

They all stared to him in fear, the teams around him. Both. The majority was not used to his killings, although they were sporatic. They all knew that every time they entered the woods it was likely that one of them wouldn't return. That was a given. But this time.. this time, it was different. He died after the game was over, after the laws of killing ended. This was a possible case of murder, rather defense of his precious banner.

He looked to the body, huffing, his chest raising high and low as the buff he summoned took its small toll, as it was only used for a short time. His arms were bent at the elbows, hanging behind him slightly. The faces were between the corpse and him, if they were not staring to the daughter of Zeus and the unclaimed child in her arms, they were begging for eye contact from who else held the spotlight.

He looked around for a moment, refusing to change his footing, his knees shortly bent. Then he heard her speak. The one he would've meant to kill. He looked to her, and her words filled him with sudden energy, though that did not change his lazy eyes. She was surprised... good. Her scream was music to his ears, that he could hopefully scare even the most rebellious newcomer. Behind his helmet, he huffed out through his smile, his dimples hidden just enough so that they weren't seen.

Lifting his arms up for a quick moment and letting them drop back down to his sides, he spoke through breaths. "I... I told you I kill... I told you.." And from there, from there he would turn along the entire group of people, looking to everyone's dismay. Everyone, except Mara, from Ares.

She had anger. She had bravery. She had strength. No one ever stared to him the way her eyes met, her grip upon her flail tightening. It was at that moment that Luthius woke up even more, staring to her as he slumped down on the side of the steep mound of rocks. His right arm's elbow rested upon his right knee, looking her straight in the face, taking his helmet off from the front as he tossed it to the side, landing perfectly upon a tall stone. His eyes shot down to the ground in front of him, still in her direction, as he spat, wiping his maw with his left arm, looking her dead in her face. Even at this moment, though he was sweaty, had his mohawk remained intact, not a blade of hair moved from the fight.

He didn't care. He didn't, really. Not at that moment, no. They needed him. Why else would they have continued to witness his killings? He was a pillar of their pride, of their might. He brought these warriors up within his past years of living on that campus. He was violent, yes, he was a monster. But he was a monster they needed. And nothing would take that away from him...

...Or so he thought.

Chiron's breath stilled as he witnessed the scene unfold. This wasn't the first time Luthius had performed such a heinous act. That was not excuse though. This entire situation was inexcusable. As much as he was outraged, he was just as saddened at the death of yet another half-blood. Let alone the half-blood who had won! A boy, five days into camp, unclaimed and scrawny compared to the Son of Heracles. That boy had potential, key word: had.

"Luthius! This is the last time I will tolerate such behavior!", Chiron boomed as he trotted into the clearing. The sky had darkened a bit as thunder boomed from above, yet there was no lightning. "We will pay young Nikandros the respect he deserves."

The lightning-less storm blared on, it was obvious that a certain someone was upset. A certain god who had been angered. No words were said about it. The campers began to disperse, their heads down, their moods shot. Chiron alone gathered the young boy's corpse, and at the moment, the unclaimed half-blood was claimed. It was a spectacle to behold, something marvelous and unseen entirely. Above the boy's body, cradled in Chiron's arms, was a golden symbol never seen before: a man holding fire. Chiron knew exactly what this meant, only one deity was responsible for man and man's possession of the flames. That deity was Prometheus, a Titan.

"No wonder his scent was stronger..." Chiron muttered, the surrounding campers stared in awe of the extraordinary symbol. That's when the thunder boomed louder, ear-piercingly. The symbol angered the King of the Gods immensely.

"How dare he... That Prometheus... It was him wasn't it? He must've stole my bolt. His boy Nik," Zeus was watching of course from his throne, he was planning to use Capture the Flag as a means to claim his pride and joy, Jin. But that moment was showed up, by the son of a Titan nonetheless. "This was supposed to be about me– I mean my daughter! NOT THIS IMPUDENT WORTHLESS CHILD!"

Meanwhile, back at camp, the campers had moved on and gathered around as Nik was wrapped in a makeshift shroud honoring his father. The boy's body was placed on a bundle of sticks. If Zeus had any lightning on hand, he would've smited the boy's body into smithereens. But he didn't, Zeus had no means to express his anger... At least not destructively.

"Not many of us knew Nikandros, not too personally... but he was a camper just like the rest of you. He was also the first Demi-Titan to live in our camp, even only if it were for a short time. I wish things didn't have to come to thi–", Chiron was interrupted when a bright flash appeared before the crowd. It was the King of the Gods himself.

"Enough Chiron. Nikandros Pandor was not a part of this camp. He is the son of a thief, and he was most likely the thief that stole my bolt. Unfortunately, you failed to do the one thing asked of you, and that was to assign the quest to find my source of power!", Zeus bellowed as he immediately turned his head towards the Centaur but kept his body facing the campers. The god's attention then turned the clusters of campers standing in pure shock and awe(get it? shock?). Zeus's eyes fell on Jin. He didn't give any kind of look to her, it was mostly neutral. He began to speak to the crowd as a whole, "Listen up!"

"My bolt has been stolen, and normally I would've given such a task to Luthius, my legacy. However, that legacy has no doubt been tarnished after he lost to the Son of Prometheus. That's why I'm giving this quest to my daughter, Jin Xiao Jiang. I don't care who accompanies her, but considering that a Titan like Prometheus is at fault, I suggest you send three others with her," Zeus had ranted, "Oh and I'll be taking this. So I can dispose of such a disgusting breed."

He disappeared along with Nik's body still covered in it's shroud. Seconds later, the god appeared in the throne room. Nik's lifeless frame dropped from the air as it appeared. It hit the floor hard, and the sound was very audible in the empty room.

"Father... What is this?", a feminine voice had said from behind Zeus. He turned his inflated head to see where the words came from. It was Artemis, horror evident on her face.

"This?" Zeus nudged the corpse with the tip of his shoe, "This here is trash. Get rid of it."

He turned his back on his daughter once more as she nodded meekly. Artemis had no idea what had happened, but she knew what was wrapped in this shroud. It was a child, a dead one. It made her sick to pick up the body and carry it out, it made her sick to hear what her father had said, but it was sufferable. Artemis hurried out with Nik's body, and in no time she was on her chariot, the body before her feet.

"I'm sorry young one. I truly am...", Artemis said, her voice a bit shaky as the chariot raised into the sky. A tear slipped out of her right eye, she too was born from a titan. She knew fully well that this boy was too. It was a pain to even look in the boy's direction. "Your father was a kind being, he stole for the good of his creation. And without man, there wouldn't have been any women to join my hunt. So in a way I'm indebted to Prometheus.."

The wind picked up, it sounded like a howl. Not a howl from a wolf, it was more... sinister. That same very wind soon changed. It began to shout as it rocked the Moon Chariot. Artemis would have fell if she hadn't held on to the reigns, but Nik was dead he couldn't hold on to anything. Over and over the chariot rocked, it rocked until Nik's body began to slide to the chariot's edge.

"Be gone foul spirits!", Artemis yelled as she held on tightly. Under other circumstances, she would've shot the enemies around her. But if she let go of the reigns, she would fall. Nik's body fell off the chariot, over the sound of the wind and the fray of the moment, Artemis hadn't noticed. She continued on through the sky as Nik's corpse fell towards the earth.

Back at camp, Chiron was seething. But he knew better than to disobey the King of Gods. Chiron's head turned to Damian, he knew what the boy was capable of. "Your father's trident was taken as well, I think you should accompany Jin. Since you know this camp better than her, I suggest you pick the other two." With that Chiron trotted off to the Big House, leaving the campers to chatter amongst themselves about the strange occurrence that just played out before their eyes.

Fawn could feel something was wrong. Something was very wrong. So she ran towards Zeus' Fist as fast as she could, dropping her sword along the way so that she wasn't weighed down by it. Just as she arrived, it happened. Nikandros hit the ground. His spine snapped.

Fawn was in a state of shock for longer than she expected. She didn't see Jin come over to Nik. She didn't see Mara standing up to Luthius. All she saw was the green of the forest and the broken body of a thirteen year old demigod on the ground. Her stomach did acrobatic flips and twists, almost trying to force her to vomit. Her heart pounded as fast as it could and as slow as it could at the same time. Seconds felt like hours but minutes felt like seconds. The girl was trapped inside of herself for far too long.

Chiron shouted to Luthius and Fawn snapped out of it. She fell to her knees suddenly. Then the tears started. she couldn't explain why there were tears. There was no need for the tears. And still, there were tears. Fawn was crying. She didn't know Nik well, they'd only talked once and even then she didn't learn much. But still this hit her hard. Luthius had killed another camper. She was terrified. That was it, she was terrified. A young, new camper had been killed, and she was scared that she would next.

The campers began to move towards the campfire but Fawn stayed in the woods for a little while longer, trying to calm down. The woods usually calmed her down. They didn't this time. Nothing would calm her down. She'd witnessed her third death. She didn't know how much more she could take.

After about half an hour, Fawn went to join the campers at the bonfire. She just wanted to pay her respects to the dead boy. Instead, Zeus himself decided to pay the camp a visit. It was at this point that Fawn decided she'd attempt to wipe this day clean from her memory. Too many events had transpired in too short of a time period. There was too much chaos, too much pain. Too much.

Jin is Zeus' daughter. She's going on the quest. So is Damien. Fawn wanted nothing to do with this. She wanted to stay safe and holed up in her cabin until Luthius was gone. She didn't want to run any more risks. Fawn needed a break from this life. So Fawn slowly slipped away from the group and went back into the woods to just explore until it all blew over.

Sibéal was now coming to full recovery. With a silent, partial limp, she'd make her way from the clinic to the bonfire as she saw people sitting around it. Walking over to Chiron, she'd sit next to him with a soft grunt as a searing pain shot through her body. "S-So, old man. How was the game?"

Her ribcage, while still making her sweat from pain, was actually just about an hour or so from a complete recovery; the power of ambrosia.

That was supposedly her father, standing with grandeur and tingling power before the rest of the campers. His voice boomed with aggression and authority. Jin hated it. She wondered if a man like him could ever be soft. No wonder he wasn't ever around to be a father. I was better off without him. He flung accusations at a dead boy with no proof of his claims. If any thievery had been tied to Nik, then wouldn't it be in their best interest to revive the one who had all the information-- or coax it out of people who knew them, rather than make a mockery before his corpse. What honor, Jin thought disgustedly. She watched Zeus with cold horror, something dark like loathing in the pit of her stomach. And Nik was still lying before her, skin growing cold, body growing stiff.

Her ears rang.

"...my daughter, Jin Xiao Jiang."

And then he took Nik. Jin reared back, shouting in alarm as Zeus grabbed the child and disappeared. And then her tears began again, hot, angry, furious tears, railing against a cruel world, a vortex of confusion, perhaps pleading some for the life that she had once had to come back and take her to that familiar landscape again. Jin shook, She sat and she shook and she cried, and then she hiccuped and she sniffled and she continued to cry but now she stood, because there was no use in just crying anymore. And her mother and grandmother had trained her not to, because real crying was unlovely and unladylike and a woman's tears should only be used to manipulate those around her, not expose her raw, naked emotion. Jin was not yet a woman. Perhaps not in her own eyes, but in the eyes of her family, and likely everyone around her, she was still a child. So she cried, but she also stood, and she walked slowly back to the camp, toward the infirmary, with the gentle, lagging flow of the rest of the campers who had also been shocked by a sudden death, a raging god, and a claiming unlike any other that they had witnessed. And they gave Jin a wide berth, perhaps glancing at her curiously, almost fearfully, but maintaining their distance. Through her puffy red eyes and swimming vision, Jin barely noticed.

When she arrived at the infirmary, she was softly tended to by the staff there. When she quietly told them that she had been hit, had fallen, they carefully checked for a concussion. Indeed; Jin suffered a minor concussion, and she was given pain medication, an ice pack to hold against her neck, and some strange, sweet substance that seemed to slowly clear her mind. It stabilized her vision, at the very least. The woman sitting before her gave her a set of instructions, including things like: take it easy, get some good rest, no strenuous physical activity, avoid loud noises and too-bright lights, and take this whenever you need it but not more than four times a day. Jin nodded, and then she started walking back to the Hermes cabin where her things were. On the way, she spotted Chiron. A man-horse only spoken of in legend, yet now somehow her guardian. If she remembered correctly... Jin squeezed her eyes shut briefly, a vague, booming voice in her mind becoming clearer, Zeus had tasked her with a quest. Well, there was no way she could go on it.

For one, she was injured. Two, she had no combat experience. Three, she had no questing experience. Four, she didn't know anyone that she could bring with her. Five, she refused to obey Zeus's demands. Six, she would not become any more involved in this world than she already had. Seven, she didn't want to fucking die.

With all those in mind, Jin walked over to Chiron. There was another girl standing there, perhaps speaking to him. But this was urgent.

Quietly, forcefully, Jin said, "Chiron," and then looked up at him, catching his eyes, "Mr. Chiron. I'm not going on this quest. I'm leaving this place and I'm not coming back. You can find other people to take on this mission, but I don't want to-- I can't be a part of this anymore. I'm going back home."

As the scenario passed by, as the Chiron yelled to him, Luthius had an opened face. The last straw? Really now? He wasn't used to that. Not from Chiron at least. He huffed, a small chuckle as he lifted up the rock next to him, before taking his helmet and beginning to trot off. "Shouldn't have grabbed my damn flag, not my fault!" He barked out, just loud enough for people to hear him, dropping the stone as he marched.

However, the next display he would not enjoy, whatsoever.

He looked first to the clouds, his chest pounding as his smug look was wiped from his face. Uh-Oh. That was never a good sign. Grandpa was upset, most likely with him. Or something. Hopefully something. He then had to close his eyes, as they were aggravated suddenly by the symbol above Nik's dead body, cradled in Chiron's arms. From there, his arm slowly dropped, as his face grew to that of amaze. Prometheus...

What? Prometheus. The Prometheus. He frowned for a split second, looking up to the clouds as he mentally thought: Why didn't you tell me? The boy had to march his way back with the rest of the group, realizing that this was not a simply display of his grandfather's anger. No, this meant that he was coming down. The big man himself. But Luthius could not help but ponder... Prometheus? He'd never ever ever heard of a demi-titan-god- whatever you'd call it! Never had he'd seen, studied, heard, or even read about such a thing happening.

He flinched mightily, the boy from Might. That child of Hercules looked like a scared dog, whimpering behind the back of the crowd. Yet, he saw people in front of him part the path ahead, as if ushering either him to go up to Zeus, or for the God of Gods to come beat him to a pulp. Either way, the boy swallowed what lump in his throat he could as he cowered his way forward. This wasn't going to be fun.

It was right now that he regretted everything he said, everything he did to her daughter. Holy shit, he knocked her out. Zeus was gonna pummel him into the dirt, grind him into a fine bowl of demigod powder- he was sure of it. Holy Gods how he wished he never had an attitude.

Almost immediately as Zeus spoke of thief had the boy sighed in relief. On his word, that was the most frightened he'd ever been. He wasn't afraid about his daughter! She could take a punch right? He grinned as he looked to the corpse. If anything, Zeus was dignifying his brutal slaughter. That little runt got what was coming to him then, if that brat stole his pa's bolt! He snickered for a moment, noticing eyes go straight to him, making him stand nearly immediately at attention, eyes popping out of his sockets nearly as he stared to Zeus' feet.

Immediately, he was shot down. "Listen up!!" He gleamed with pride, his chest puffed out as he was marching forward, getting up to the front of the crowd before he heard the word. That one word.

Normally

"W-" The God continued. He literally just dogged the hell out of his own grandchild!? The boy's jaws clenched, his fists as well. His entire body became a cocoon to anger, rage, jealousy in a few moments too. But what was he going to do? Fight a God? That was never going across his mind, in a million years. Let alone ZEUS. But that did not stop him from choking in his throat. How dare- well, he did lose- No! How dare he, who has seen his grandson slay a hundred times, throw HIS quest to some newcomer who doesn't even know how to FIGHT!?

Then he was gone, and Chiron immediately spoke to Jin.

He didn't care about Jin, he stormed himself, chasing a centaur like a fool. "No no no NO NO!!! CHIRON!!!" He roared out with a mighty rage. He sprinted all the way to the big house, barging in just in time to hear his "Cousin" speak.

"I can't be a part of this, I'm going back home."

"There we go!!"
He said, his arms out wide, panting heavily as he pryed into that old man's skull for eye contact. "She can't, so give me My Quest!! You think they know how to wield a sword better th- SHE ISN'T EVEN CLAIMED YET!!!!" He roared out mightily. His lump was growing again, his eyes watering, making him clutch his bloodshot one as he inhaled sharply, looking back to the centaur with tearing eyes as he waited for his much deserved response.

Sibéal was suddenly interrupted with her conversation with Chiron by, not one, but two campers. Each one seeming to enter with tears in their eyes, and yet only one had any actual injury. Though, it did not excuse her demand to relinquish her quest for the sake of going home. Sibéal didn't speak and just simply listened as the girl continued to demand that she return home. Which, like clockwork, summoned a child of Heracles who, in Sibéal's eyes, was throwing even more or a tantrum than the girl over a quest? Well, at least she got her answer without having to ask the Centaur twice. She now knew who the victor was as he stood before her.

Fawn's feet carried her deeper and deeper into the woods. The green of the forest and the brown of the mud felt like a blanket around her. It was comforting, but not comforting at all. It carried a sadness. This was one of the few places left where wildlife was allowed to flourish. This was one of the few places her father's spirit still carried. The scent of sap and musk-ox planted a warm feeling in Fawn's chest. This was home to her.

The daughter of Pan came to Zeus' Fist. She felt sick for a moment. Then she just felt very sad. This stack of rocks would always and forever mark where a young demi-titan was brutally murdered by a brutish demigod with no self control. Fawn sat down at the bottom of Zeus' Fist and watched nothing for a while. She just thought about the minute she spent with the boy. She didn't even ask his name. Absently, Fawn doodled little images in the mud in front of her.

She looked at the doodles after a while and her heart stopped. She quickly erased the images. Fawn became terrified of herself. She had drawn the world in flames. That was her worst nightmare. Fawn left Zeus' fist quickly after that. Something about that place screamed death and destruction to her and she wasn't going back until that aura had cleared up.

But as she arrived back at camp, Fawn realized she didn't know where to go. She could go to her bunk, but she'd be teased ruthlessly by Hermes kids. She could go train, but no one would train her. The Big House? No. Why should she? Chiron didn't like her one bit, did he? And he wouldn't talk to her if he didn't like her. So Fawn slowly realized that there wasn't much home besides the forest at this camp.

Fawn hugged herself tightly. She looked around at the demigods in camp. She felt so alone. But she would never let anyone know that. She took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and breathed out slowly. Then she smiled. She had to be the bright and chipper girl she always was and always would be. It didn't matter if she felt alone and forgotten on the inside. Fawn let that persona take over as she walked towards the Big House. She didn't go in, she just sat on the steps and watched the camp with a satisfied half-smile.

(OPEN)

She clenched her fists, as Luthius turned his gaze to hers, holding it. The arrogant shitlord pulled off his helm, setting it down beside him to look at her: She narrowed her eyes, not moving away as he looked down towards his feet, spitting on the ground. Scowling, she made the same response, snorting loudly before lobbing a thick gunk of phlegm onto the ground. She didn't need any words to accompany the simple gesture, giving a snort instead.

She thought he would run off to throw the same sort of mess he did usually.. only for Chiron to arrive, upset, and things to really fucking sink from there. Chiron seemed to finally have had enough of Luthius' shit, just like everyone else here. And then.. Zeus showed up. Any bravery she had in the face of Luthius seemed to melt there as the King of the Gods himself arrived, in a thunderous rage. Bellowing and roaring about all sorts of shit Mara could not even begin to understand. How could Nik even be the son of a titan? That's not even possible. Things only seemed to get more confusing from there, a study Zeus called the dead kid a thief, and went on to talk about him as if he was some worm. That brought a scowl to her face. She might not have known him, but he was a person, just like them. He just got murdered in front of everyone, and no one seemed to care.

And then... the quest. Her lips twisted into a grin as they were told Luthius wasn't gifted with the quest, but instead some daughter of Zeus Mara never heard of, Jin. The girl who was on the ground next to Nik's broken corpse. Already, a fire had begun to burn. She was going on this quest. For Nik, a kid she had only met once, she would go. Clear his name, even if he was dead. He deserved that at least, with how much everyone seemed to be shitting on him.

The campers all began flooding back to the camp, mostly to the bonfire, but Mara had other plans. She followed Jin through the human tide, heavy mace sitting upon Mara's shoulder as she made her way after the child of Zeus. She waited outside, as she received brief care in the Infirmary, and then followed her over to Chiron, practically twitching in excitement. She noticed that another girl was already there, who Jin seemed to interrupt. However once she had heard Jin's words... that she wished to run away from this, to flee, she paused. Luthius ran over, beginning to speak, beginning to beg like some dejected child that had been denied something they wanted. An anger began to burn in her, as she turned, finally acknowledging Luthius. "Luthius, kindly shut the fuck up for a few seconds?" She asked plainly, before she grabbed Jin by the shoulder, turning the taller girl to face her. "I'm going on this quest, and you are too, Jin," she said plainly, keeping her burning gaze locked on the other girl's eyes. "You are not going to run away from this. You are going to go and find your father's bolt, and we are going to do something to honor Nik's death. If he's going to die over a game and get his body desecrated by the Gods, I can damn well promise you I am not going to let that happen and remain silent about it."

"You clearly seemed to care about Nik, if you knew him at all, and I hope you aren't content to simply shriveling up and running back to wherever you came from, because I honestly had expected better from you," she added with a growing rage and a scowl upon her ugly, mangled face. "You didn't seem to fear Luthius as much as everyone else around here, and yet now you are going to run!" She added. "Why? Don't you understand?!" She shouted, poking Jin hard, in the center of her chest. "You -can't- run from this! You can't run from what you are! Monsters will find you, wherever you go. You'll only bring pain and suffering to whoever you go and hide with, because you'll drag in every monster for miles. They smell your demigod blood, just as they do ours." She explained, stepping back to give the girl a little space, as Mara's voice lowered to a more controlled level. "So you better grow a fucking spine Jin. Or, if you want, you can go run off and get yourself and your family killed, or maybe if you're lucky, you'll just get that pretty little face torn to ruin like mine, because I didn't take all of this seriously enough." She tore her iron gaze from Jin at last, looking up at Chiron. "I'll go on this Quest alone if no one else will."

Sibéal looked to Chiron, with everyone swarming in demanding to be a part of the quest. Shrugging her shoulders, she simply spoke softly. "I don't mind going on the quest..."

The boy realized that Mara, that incompetent, big-headed, arrogant girl, running her damn mouth off again, told him to shut up. "Bet you won't square up right now, punk." He barked out, immediately calling her out with fists clenched. Though he expected an immediate reaction from Chiron, that did not stop him from getting ready to crush her head like a walnut, irrelevant of what Chiron was done with and what he wasn't. His rage burned within him as he listened to her completely arrogant way of speaking, and then bursted out into laughter with her wayyyyy completely arrogant statement.

She had a mouth, and that wasn't a good thing. "Go on this quest alone? Hah!!! Listen to this shit, Chiron!" He said, his arms dropping as he marched forward, clunking heads with her, making an immense sense of eye contact. He expected her to try to do something funny, so he clenched up his muscles, physically begging for her to make a move on him. "I'm a hundred times the fighter you are, and definitely a lot smarter too. You're nothing compared to what I'll do for this quest." With that, he shoved his head away from her, turning back to Chiron with a mighty rage. "I'm the most deserving for this, Chiron. Even if this isn't My quest I'm still going, you know they'll need me. We're talking about Zeus' BOLT!" His hands exaggerated, then his left arm throwing itself to present Mara. "And I'll be damned if some kid who was born from Ares thinks she's anywhere near all that to partake on something this important! Let alone replace me!"

He didn't like her for a multitude of reasons. For one, she wasn't scared of him, for whatever dumb reason that was. She was like the rest of her kin: blind to any good reasoning for intimidation, hard-headed. That's why he always enjoyed fighting them, because they didn't know when to back down. But the even went so far as to verbally attack him whenever. That made him nearly immediately want to crush her even more. No one did that in his years except for Mara. To him, she was only alive because he couldn't find her coming towards his flag before the game ended. Either way, he hated her with a burning passion. And she did him. The Yin and Yang. But what he wouldn't understand is her sudden loss of care for the dead kid. Literally dying the same day and immediately she seems to have the courage to bark at him. But that didn't matter. What mattered was him going on this quest, instead of her. If she did, he'd most definitely pull one of his old book tricks like he did before. Capture the flag wasn't the only way he ridded of weak points in the camp.

"Luthius! Enough!" Chiron nearly shouted. The centaur had been pushed to his limit. His temper was finally set off. Chiron's front hoof stomped hard on the wooden floor of the Big House. "You are not the hero you think you are! Your father would be disappointed in you Luthius! Trust me, I trained him."

The centaur's attention turned from the insufferable Son of Might, it wasn't that murderous teen's quest, this quest belonged to the first son of the most notorious thief in history. This was supposed to be Nik's quest, but the poor boy was killed and then further disrespected by almost every one of Zeus' kin. Chiron didn't know Nik personally, but no doubt would he have proven himself to his peers. In a sense, the young demi-titan had already done that by beating the most ruthless camper during his first Capture the Flag.

"Mara, you and Sibéal will accompany Jin... Also Mara, show her to the Oracle. This quest could cost the lives of thousands of demigods... Maybe even more mortals, it sadly isn't a choice," Chiron said to the daughter of Ares, the centaur looked down at Sibéal who had spoken up, he felt bad for having ignored her earlier. Many things were happening all at once, even an immortal horse teacher couldn't handle it. "I can trust that you won't allow yourself to be injured recklessly again?", he asked rhetorically. Chiron didn't even need her answer, he could trust that Sibbi would be as much help as she could, as well as more so the conscience of this quest team.

"I'm not sorry about this in the slightest. You should be ashamed of yourself Luthius, your father was a hero. One of the best to exist. Yet, his only son– that's you, Luthius– have proved time and time again that you aren't worthy of his name. You are arrogant and you are selfish. You murdered a boy for playing Capture the Flag, because he was about to win. You have no sense of remorse. You are no hero, and the only thing I am sorry about is the fact that I couldn't teach you to better yourself," Chiron said this calmly, way too calmly. Maybe because Chiron had been planning, no hoping this would happen. "Gather your belongings, and leave this camp. No, leave my camp."

With that out of the way, Chiron left the teens to tend to what he told them to do. He needed to think heavily, he needed a breather. He was trotting along the beach of the Long Island Sound, when he stopped suddenly. He looked around carefully, sniffing the air to make sure that no one was around. Then he continued, thinking harder about a certain prophecy.

~X~
Wind spirits are as benevolent as much as they are malevolent. No, never mind that's a lie. Nik's body fell to the earth at terminal velocity, but it was only avoiding impact because the body landed in a body of water. Namely, Central Park's biggest pond.

In that darkness, a body shot up from the pond. Gasping for air, and yelling in pain, in one instance. Stormy grey eyes scanned the dark, piercing the veil of darkness Erebus leaves behind.

"What the fuck happened?! WHERE AM I?!", A voice screamed, hoarse and full of confusion. "I died... Right?"

The words... ohh how the words hurt.

At first, it was a stomp, making him clench his jaws and shut his trap hard. Then, that was the first jab. It made him blink rather quickly, huffing as his chest retracted, looking as if the boy had taken a bad whiff. There was something he didn't hear ever, at all. He didn't think that such words could come out of the old horse, but they did. His tongue shoved into his bottom lip, his hands crossed over his chest. Even now did he rise even higher with pride. Who was this guy to tell him what his own dad would be proud and not proud of? He was a Legend. That's what Legends did. Maybe Chiron was just jeal-

No.... no... no way..

Before the second sentence directed towards him, he was upset. He was triggered, albeit he found some sense of deserving after his mouth-off to the little Ares brat. But he didn't expect what was to come. Not in a million years. He was a pinnacle, he was the pride of this campus. Everyone feared him as well respected his fighting here, there wasn't a single person who didn't talk about him, bad or good. He was a mighty warrior, and because of that, put himself upon a plaque for all to be witnessed by. Chiron would have been proud of him- should have been proud of him. That was the reason he was here, wasn't it? To be a legend?

Who was more prepared for a quest than him? Who suffered all physical malnourishments, went from some pulp to the pinnacle of might? Who could kill, without batting an eye like he did!? He questioned himself as Chiron spoke suddenly. His voice became that of offensive, upsetting, but most fearingly, calm. He was speaking with much control over his voice. This made Luthius frown his eyes in curiousness, listening in to hear what the centaur had to say. From hereon out had Chiron ignited a fire, a fire he did not intend to start, but found justice in doing so. At that moment was there a hint of regret made in eye contact. At that moment would the quest begin to hone the boy's potential to do him wrong. As they stared to one another, and as the voice emitted its deadly blow, Chiron saw true murder, the intent to bash one's skull open. He saw the rage of a thousand stars buried within those orbs.

"... You are no hero, and the only thing I am sorry about is the fact that I couldn't teach you to better yourself..,"

No.....

"Gather your belongings, and leave this camp. No, leave my camp."

The boy was indeed murderous at that moment. The words.. they felt unreal. It was as if he was pierced, those gusts of winds from that centaur's jaws creating claws, thrashing and tearing apart Luthius' dignity, his pride, his last strain of humanity. He felt himself... falling... his leg strength gone.. A rage buried deep within him released. His camp. The boy slowly marched backwards, taking slow strides as he aimed to keep eye contact with the horse, doing so until he was five feet outside of the house. From there, his body hid in the night, yet those eyes... those eyes lingered there. They lingered with fire, with something of unspeakable potential that burned through his core as he blinked strongly once, turning around and storming off. However, one could even assume that he simply vanished, with the light of the inner house to strain their vision outside. Like a ghost, that one day could return and haunt him.

He gathered his things, violently. His dresser was thrown down, he kept with him only a sword- not like they would miss it. He went so far as to place the spherical flail head within Zeus' statue's open hand, leaving behind his mark. He left his helmet there, set it beneath his father's statue's legs, in between his feet, to stare directly at Jin when she would march her way into that damned cabin. Outside there was the bonfire. And all looked to the cabin with much worry, to see the boy walk from yards away towards them, after hearing roars from all emotions come from there. Yes, he cried again. Yes, he yelled in agony, slamming his fist against a pillar foolishly. Yes, he shouted in rage. But to any mortal or immortal, to any who holds intelligence, the most scariest noise, that none would disagree with, would be that, of silence.

Quietly did the warrior come out, his 'Hawk sloppily fixed from the fit he previously threw. He marched his way slowly now, within ten feet, towards the bonfire, quickly a boy moving out of his seat, where he would place his boot upon and fix the leather straps around his shin guards. He had his chestplate, yes. He had his gauntlets. But that meant nothing. His helm was his pride, and that wasn't allowed now. After paying much attention to his boot, he looked around to the faces that stared all to him. They obviously knew by now. Jin, Mara, the whole lot, even that damned centaur could've been there by now. But he didn't care, kicking himself off of the seat as he looked to them all, his jaw gritted.

".....I'll show.. every single one of you..."

It started with that, calmly, quietly, looking to the group, as they still were quiet.

"YOU HEAR ME!?! THE WHOLE DAMN LOT OF YOU!!! ALL THE SHIT I'VE DONE! THE BLOOD I FUCKING SPILT!! NOTHING? THAT'S HOW MUCH I'M FUCKING WORTH! A SPECK OF SHIT UNDER YOUR BOOT..!? I'll show you all... and you can tell that damn horse what's up, too."

With that, the boy marched away from the fire, away from the demigods, away from the swords, the shields, the maces, the camp. Away from home. That was a word he hadn't heard in a while, or at least went through his brain. He had a microsecond of worry upon his face. But being the arrogant child he was, that mattered not, and instantly resumed it's angered state. And so they would see the imitation of death, of worry, of anger, of invulnerability, fade off over the hills, and march himself through the woods around them. Where he would go was unknown, if he were to die was not optional. But one thing was sure: He would make Chiron pay for what he did.

First Chiron left. Then Luthius. They both just walked by her, as if she didn't exist. Fawn's smile left. She didn't exist to the camp. No one would notice she was gone. No one, except Sibeal, and she was going on the quest. Fawn felt alone again. Like a ghost. The kind of ghost her father was now. She was there, but she wasn't at the same time. It felt weird to be a ghost.

Fawn got off the steps. There was something in the air. Something warm and comfortable. Something familiar. Fawn very slowly got off of the steps. What was it? Fawn looked around. There was Chiron, walking along the beach. She wanted to ask why the air smelled like pine and why her skin felt warmer. But she wouldn't do that. Chiron didn't like her. At the very least, he held no opinion of her, and she was afraid that if she talked to him, he would hate her.

There was a breeze that didn't reach the trees or the grass. It only came over Fawn. It wasn't real. Fawn shivered slightly. Something was off. "Ch-Chiron?" Fawn whispered, watching him. She knew her whisper wouldn't read his ears. It was only a sad plea for help. She'd felt this feeling before. A year ago, the same feelings had come over her.

And then there was a voice. Fawn. Fawn's eyes went wide. "Father?" Fawn looked around. There was no image of her father, no way of seeing that he was with her. All she had was his voice in her head. Come find me, Fawn. Fawn shook her head. "No, I can't leave, Father!" Fawn whispered. "It's not safe out there for me."

But still, Fawn found herself walking to her cabin. She went to her bed and started packing up a small bag. About twenty drachmas, forty dollars, and some ambrosia she had stored away. Fawn slipped out quietly. Again, it seemed like no one even noticed she was there. Fawn's eyes watered slightly. She's just a ghost in this camp. No one really cared. Of course no one really cared. Not even Chiron cared.

Fawn walked to the border of camp and stood for a while. She didn't know if she could actually leave. Fawn looked around herself. She then walked down to the beach. She saw Chiron, still walking on his own. "He spoke to me again, Chiron." Fawn said softly. She wondered if he would even take the time to speak to her, or if she was just a ghost to him too.

Sibéal remained silent as Chiron went off on the child of Heracles. One insult after another, although, from what she managed to gather; the male had it coming, though, she couldn't help but feel her heart sink a bit when she heard that he was to leave, and not return.
As everyone began to leave, Sibéal got up and made her way to the males cabin while he was still packing and with a gentle gesture, she left a cornucopia and a small note reading,

"I do not condone what you did, however, I hope you a safe journey, wherever you decide to go. -Sibéal"

After she bid him a silent farewell with a gift that was a symbol of her mother's power that was enchanted with the power to be able to produce any sort of fruit, vegetable, or grain at the wielder's will. She'd hope he knew her as sincere. Running silently through the camp, she'd barge into the cabin of Hermes and yell out, "Fawn, Fawn!" yet, her attempts were to no avail as she receives no answer. It was unusual that the cabin of Hermes be silent as there were many demi-gods of unowned parents, except Fawn. Nevertheless, it was now Sibéal's personal mission to hunt for her 'sister' to inform her of her new quest and the idea of smuggling her out of the camp if she couldn't have permission to bring Fawn with her.

Her first destination, the beach. Because, why not?

Jin clenched her jaw as the scene unfolded before her. She drew into herself, and cleverly so. There was nothing she could speak to here. There was no convincing these people who so clearly thought they had the authority to decide how she would proceed with her life.

Numerous speakers before her vocalized their opinions. At a certain point, things were only getting repetitive. She gripped her hands into angry fists as some pipsqueak girl yelled questionable morals into her ear. And Jin glared fiercely down at the floor as Luthius, a malevolently familiar figure, loomed beside her.

It didn't matter what they had to say. She was done with this camp.

Two others were to accompany her on this trip. Mara and Sibeal. Hopefully they would be able to fend for themselves, since Jin certainly was not going to go quest willingly. Perhaps she could pay some desperate child of Hermes to go in her stead. Those children seemed itching for some kind of validation.

As the camp director began to scold Luthius, Jin turned her head away in disgust and slowly began drifting away from the group in quiet steps. Incredible-- a brute kills a boy and his only punishment is banishment, nothing more? Jin snorted. A cult camp that trains killers and disciplines murderers with no more than a slap on the wrist. Luthius had killed before, too. Did none of those lives matter as much as Nik's? Who was Chiron to act so high and mighty, when it must have been none other than him who'd been complicit in Luthius' murders?

Chiron had finally left. And Jin crossed her arms, silently turning to Mara. "Don't you ever speak to me like that again," Jin said, voice low, something violent thrumming beneath it, like belligerent lightning, waiting in the clouds to strike, "you have no idea who I am."

The girl's face was indeed scarred. Perhaps it would have been unsettling to look at if Jin hadn't been crying over the stiffening, broken body of a boy earlier. But a scar was nothing next to a cold corpse in her lap.

"You can go on this quest alone. You look strong. I'm sure you'll do fine and prove yourself or whatever," Jin muttered. And then she left, storming off to the Hermes cabin. She needed to gather her things and leave.

After all that shit she said, he'd probably hit her. He'd probably snap her neck and grind her bones to dust, and there would be nothing she could do about it but squeeze out one final, hateful word. But, it would all be worth it, wouldn't it, to scar, to ruin perfect boy's fucking pride. To make the mark she never had on the world, by really hurting him where he'd remember it. So, she went and opened her mouth again, to let out one final insult, before Chiron let out a shout. 'Luthius! Enough!' Holy shit. Mara stepped back a little, dull eyes wide as the ancient centaur began to roar in fury towards Luthius. She expected a slap on the wrist, a 'Your father is disappointed,' not for the old mentor to start screaming. Hades, she had never even heard the centaur yell before, and it certainly shook her resolve a bit, shrinking away from him.

Chiron only seemed to confirm that Nik was the son of a Titan, which still seemed a little impossible, but at this point she was about ready to believe it. And then... and then shit got weirder. She and Sib... Sibal... Sibeel were assigned to the quest, and Mara was told to lead Jin to the oracle. Whatever smile she had on her face faded. The oracle. She hated the oracle. Nothing about her seemed... right. But, if Mara was going to go on this quest, she had to talk to the oracle, and had to convince Jin to come along. Simple.

However, as she began to think on how things would work out, Chiron spoke again, this time with a lower, more even tone and far heavier words. If his previous words had surprised her, this next bunch blew her the fuck away. Part of her was surprised that Luthius was getting banished, a punishment that could only mean death for demigods. The other part of her was angered beyond measure that the lives of the other kids hadn't mattered enough for anything to happen about it. But now that someone with an important parent was dead, suddenly it mattered enough. She had always thought Chiron wise, but... that didn't seem right. Any joy she would have felt about getting out on the quest seemed empty now, with all this shit stirring about it.

She turned towards Luthius for a moment, eyebrows raised as if expecting something from him. However he didn't react in any way. Simply stood there and took it, this murderous rage growing in his eyes until Mara was pretty sure he'd snap and try to kill the old centaur. Instead, once Chiron was done, the son of Hercules simply walked out, taking each deliberate step backwards until only his eyes could be seen. And Mara did feel a chill of fear then. That wasn't normal, and some low, quiet voice told her she'd be seeing those eyes again some time.

At some point after that, everyone else began to clear out, until only Mara and Jin remained. And the daughter of Zeus turned to her then, scowling. Mara simply stared up at her for a moment, her confidence gone for a moment after what she had just witnessed. The girl seemed upset, enough that some dark layer of threat lie below her voice. If she wanted to get upset over this, she was more than welcome to.

Mara did not stop her from leaving, simply standing there in the Big House, thinking of what she could say next. However, it seemed Jin was able to provide the answer to that herself. 'You have no idea who I am.' Mara didn't know about where the girl came from, but she did know that the girl's father was Zeus, and he had told her to go on this quest. One just doesn't refuse the king of the gods, whether they like the order or not. Mara turned, following Jin out, stepping out as the girl made her way to the Hermes cabin.

Mara ran after her, eventually catching up. Running to move in front of her, blocking her path. "You are going on this quest, Jin," she said plainly. No foul tone, no insult, nothing. "You are going on this quest, because Zeus, the King of the Gods himself, ordered you to. And Zeus does not care how much better than us you are, Zeus does not care who you were before you came here. When the King of the Gods orders you to do something, you drop your shit and fucking do it before he decides to roast your ass with a lightning bolt." She sighed, moving her hands to her hips. "Sibeel and I aren't going on the quest alone, we'll fucking die. And we'll look real damn stupid doing it too. We are gonna need help, and you happen to qualify as that help. Just know, that I am not going to let you leave this camp unless it is on the quest with us. Hate me for it as much as you want Princess, but unless you decide to zap me to death, that isn't changing." She paused for a moment, nodding to herself as if trying to confirm something in her own head. "And you're right. I don't know who you are. I don't know where you came from. But I do know that you aren't going to act like such a damn snob while you are here, which you will be, for the next few years. We're all just like you, remove the background. Bunch of frightened kids in a world full of big, toothy monsters that want us dead. This is the only place we can be safe, and we are -trying- to have a good time about it. Tough as any of us pretend to be, we wouldn't last a week outside camp on our own. Not even Luthius. With the world as dangerous for us demigods as it is, that banishment of his is a death sentence. Some monster will tear his ass wide open and all his precious strength won't save him. And yours won't either, if you decide to step across that line." Mara sighed, crossing her arms as she looked down at the ground, as a grin crossed her face. "Besides, if fate meant you to act like such an ass, you'd be an Aphrodite kid," she snorted.
