After tidying up the entirety of the kitchen after the mess that Selene and Red had made while attempting to learn the basics to cooking as well as preparing the large breakfast for the crew, Jin patted himself down to remove any excess flour that might've stuck to his clothing before proceeding to head out of the kitchen. While his original plan was to head down to the lower deck and get some workout done in the gym, the sound of hurried footsteps coming down the stairwell had him curious as to who might've been in such a rush at this time of morning. Low and behold, it was none other than Lindsey sprinting down the halls trying to find everyone on the ship, when questioning her as to what the hurry was, she had informed Jin that she was trying to get everyone off the ship so that Azure could lift the vessel to get the underside of the ship repairs done.

Right, repairs, the sooner Azure was able to patch up the Infinity the sooner they could go in search of their missing Captain. With that in mind, Jin was quick to begin heading throughout the rest of the ship, assisting Lindsey in searching for the rest of the crew to tell them to get off the ship if not, he'd drag them off. Of course, with the First Mate and the now temporary Captain both in search for the crew, it wouldn't take long before everyone was off the ship.
After getting off the ship, Jin had stood at the bow of the ship with his arms crossed as he stood behind Azure watching as the young male lifted the massive vessel up almost as though the massive ship itself was nothing more than a giant hunk of wood. While the sight of this was common since their Captain had such immense strength just as Azure did, the sight of the Infinity being tilted upwards each time was nothing much awe-inspiring each and every time Jin had watched it. With the nose of the ship pointing towards the sky, all Jin could ever think about was the idea that one day the people of Eldrida would somehow reach the heavens and if anything, he'd do whatever he could to make sure the first ship to reach those stars would be the Infinity.

By the time Azure had lowered the ship back to the ground with a heavy thud and the rest of the crew began to head back onboard, even when Azure climbed back onto the helm to activate the Eternum engines to have the ship hovering, Jin remained on the ground floor to watch as the vessel's internal systems steadily hummed to life. As the ship rose into the air little by little, it was apparent that bottom fins of the ship had been no where to be seen and what had remained was just the base part of them still barely intact on the hull of the ship itself. Luckily, Azure had been able to patch up the fins on the sides of the ship with what little supplies he had. The fins had been originally used to help with the air resistance whenever the ship was in the sky, and now with four of the fins broken off and two of them still intact somewhat, there was no doubt that they were in for a rocky flight.

Just as he stood there waiting for Azure to finish up the repairs, the sounds of footsteps coming from behind him had Jin turn his head over his shoulder as he took notice as to how the missing crew members had returned from their excavation one after another. Just by the sight of their condition, they had gotten into a battle. "All of you. Get on board...and get some rest. We'll be leaving soon." Although Jin had taken notice of the strange corpse that had been carried around by Abe, he paid no mind to it for the time being and simply followed the remainder of the crew from behind. The conversation with Hush would be dealt with at a later point, what mattered now was to get off this island and find their Captain.

As Jin helped himself onboard, making sure to pull up the loading ramp back into the side of the vessel, he'd proceed to make his way up towards the helm of the ship where Azure appeared to had been snacking on some food at the time. "Azure, when you're ready. Let's get going. Gramps is waiting for us..." Jin's words had been nothing more than a low whispered tone as he kept his gaze focused forward rather than make any eye contact with the young male. Whether or not the two would converse after that, as the ship finally began to rise up out of the tree lines, Jin gripped the railing of the ship firmly before the vessel rocketed forward.
As expected, with as many of the fins broken off, the ship shook and trembled as though it was trying to hold itself together as best as it could. Even so, Jin kept his composure as best as he could while they left the safety of the island and reached into the open skies.

"Down there Azure...I can still see some smoldering smoke from the two crashed ships..!" Extending out one of his arms to point towards the island down on the ocean that appeared to have what seemed like a large tree off on one side of the island itself. While normally large trees would be nothing of usual importance, this one seemed strange as every other tree around the island was much smaller in size. So as the Infinity slowly descended from the skies to reach the ocean, Jin wasn't able to help himself but keep his attention on the strangely large tree for some odd reason. By the time the vessel made a large splash onto the water and slowly approached land, Jin was quick to hop offboard before grabbing the rope off the sides of the ship to secure it to two large trees. "We're all set Azure..! Lindsey! Make sure everyone is all set, if they're healthy enough to move, have Red take a scouting party! I think Hush needs some rest..! I'm going to the crash site to see if I can find Gramps!"

The sound of hurried footsteps echoed throughout the cave as their group surged forward to its depths. Aries could still hear the unsettling howls of the creatures dwelling outside the entrance. She never dared to look back, setting her sight to the path that their group chose to walk forth on. Her determination to live and escape kept her moving, even though the soreness in her muscles begged for her to rest.

The librarianโ€™s sleep deprived state was close to eating her consciousness away. She would lie if she said she wasnโ€™t half awake the entire walk. Even so, Aries was desperate to go back homeโ€ฆ to Infinity where her family awaits for them. To the path that felt like eternity, they finally reached the ends of the cave, her eyes widening at the sight they had come upon. First the mutated creatures, and now this, a laboratory hidden beneath this abyss.

The entirety of the scene was too much for her to take. Her stomach churned from the rotting smell that lingered in the office. Her eyes eventually fell on the corpse being examined by the doctor, unable to hide the utter disgust that formed on her face.
Just.. what in the world happened here? Aries looked away before she felt like throwing up. The lady was too overwhelmed to make sense of anything. The corpse, beasts, and documents scattered above the desks. The mystery that this island holdsโ€“ she only sensed danger if they choose to unravel its secrets.

While the other members further examined their surroundings, Ariesโ€™ eyes wandered across the room until she saw the helpless creature trapped inside the cage. Unlike the fiends that lurked deep in the forest, it seemed harmless and more like.. scared? Walking towards the creature, she noticed it tremble in her presence, crawling away to the edge of the bars. Turning the key left by the doctor, she heard a click and gently swung the door open. It didnโ€™t sit right for her to leave it alone and perhaps it could help her learn more about what these people were trying to achieve. Kneeling down, she lifted her hands and caressed the little beast gently, its little tail wagging at the contact. She couldnโ€™t help but smile at its adorable behavior as its eyes pleaded for more lovely pettings.

As the others were finally prepared to head off, she then carried the little beast and joined the others to the elevator. It led them to another cave and although their exhaustion was at its peak, they carried on and eventually reached the exit. Welcomed by the rays of the sun and the refreshing breeze tickling her skin, she thanked the World Tree for they survived whatever horror they experienced that night. Another sigh of relief escaped her as they were greeted by their sole watchman, Eiren Brackus. The automaton seems to have been scouting the area for any traces of their group. The expedition finally came to an end as they arrived at the ship, the infinity looking much better from when they left.

Just as their quartermaster ordered, Aries and the rest of the group boarded the ship with a few extra baggage in hand. First that came to her was the immediate feeling of bringing Hush to the infirmary. With the young scoutโ€™s current condition, she was the first that needed tending the most. They passed a few rooms and upon reaching the entrance, there she saw Red treating his own wound. She would ask the man about what happened but that was for another matter. She watched as Napoleon gently laid the young girl in one of the beds, helping him tuck her in the sheets.
โ€œThank you Sir Napoleon. Carrying her all the way here, Iโ€™m sure youโ€™re exhausted. You can take your rest too..โ€ She gave him a soft tap in the back before turning to Red. "Sir Red, if you're not busy.. do you mind staying with Hush for a bit? I'm just gonna wash up and be back." Her overall haggard look as the blood and sweat loitered her clothingโ€“ the icky feeling was all too much for her to bear. Aries gave them a curt nod before leaving and walked along the corridors.

As she made her way to the room, she left her newfound pet in one of the sofas then headed for the bathroom to wash up. The warm shower was like a gentle rain that soothed her muscles. There, she took her time and thoroughly washed the excess dirt that stuck on her skin, wincing at the sharp pain from the blisters that formed on her feet. She didnโ€™t want to ask Abe to use his healing for such little matter. Not to mention the doctor has been treating their wounds all night, in terms of exhaustion, he is the most taxed. Nonetheless, a gauze and ointment might do the trick.

After her much needed bath, the lady adorned a simple white blouse and skirt before brushing through the tangles of her long blue locks. It took her a moment to notice that her little friend had slept comfortably on her couch. Aries had zero experience when it comes to being a pet owner. And while the library gives her all the information she usually needs, this creature had never once shown in her books, much like the fiends that attacked them. Even so, how could they cage up such a harmless little guy?
โ€œIโ€™ll be back little one..โ€ She said softly, not wanting to disturb it from its sleep.

The librarian hurriedly made her way back to the infirmary, mainly to check up on Hush and to also treat the blisters that have been pestering her since last night. Hopefully, their scout's condition isn't worsening.

Azure was snacking away, chips, warmed up left overs, whatever he could get his hands on before the lovely cyber serpent would stop him from taking more. Though unforuntely he was left with little left when Jin had come up.

"Azure, when you're ready. Let's get going. Gramps is waiting for us..."
Azure would slightly glance over to Jin and nodded a little, pushing the little bit of his snacks left to the side and would stand up slowly, streching his arms slightly, gently rubbing his shoulder as the bruise had formed from the weight of the ship, wanting to go ask Abe to help him out but decided against it, seeing how everyone looked worn out and tired when they returned but, at least they all returned. That was all he could hope for. With Jin's approval, Azure would begin to slowly begin running the engeeins, the low hum of everything back to life seemed more apporiate as the ship began to lift up into the air and he would slowly turn the vessel around, knowing it sounded, off even at the slighest move ment.
"Sorry girl, we will get you some one proper to fix the parts I couldn't. It won't be very long." He said softly, paiting the helm gently before they would zoom off, back from where they came.

"Down there Azure...I can still see some smoldering smoke from the two crashed ships..!"
Azure, though he was rather skilled at the helm, it was still an extremly hard ride, fighting with the wind and the ship to stay on course. If it was anyone else at the helm, he woyldn't be shocked if there was another crash in the future. However despite the difficulties, it was still not as rock as one would exepect it to be as Azure would begin to slowly lower the ship, looking down at the smoke Jin had pointed out. When the ship hit the water, there was no need to keep the engine on and would turn at least that part off and left the rest of the ship running. Now that he wasn't focused on making sure to land into the water safely Azure would be able to look at island they were able to land at, seeing the various trees and the much larger tree that stood out amongs the rest.

"We're all set Azure..! Lindsey! Make sure everyone is all set, if they're healthy enough to move, have Red take a scouting party! I think Hush needs some rest..! I'm going to the crash site to see if I can find Gramps!"

"Lindsey! I'm going to head inland with Jin!" He shouted, hoping that the firstmate would hear him as he began taking long strides to catch up with JIn. Gramps was a big part of Azures whole life, there was no way he was going to let Jin go search from Gramps on his own. He probably thought so little about it as he grapped his warhammer and would not even bother with moving down to the deck, jumping off right from the level the helm was had, landing with a loud thump.

"Wait! Jin! Let me come with you! Please!" He said, cathcing up the the cat boy, warhammer slung over his good shoulder as he was, still shirtless, given up on trying to find a shirt that would work much earlier in the day. "Please...let me come with you to look. I...I have to see if we can find him." For a moment, Azure would glance back to the ship, wondering if the rest would be alright but, he had to indulge himself just this once. He had to see with his own eyes if Gramps was okay or not. It would lift boulders of regret, grief, and guilt off his chest if he saw Gramps alive. If not, Azure wasn't really sure what he would feel.

"Please." He wimpered out, his mostly netural face softening as his worry would begin to show through his feminine feature of his assigned gender at birth. Azures big round eyes pleading with Jin to not say no to him, the damn of tears that Azure has been trying to hold back and ignore by repairing the ship glistening slightly. Even if Jin did, Azure was sure to probably follow anyways, just, a couple of feet behind.

Once they landed on a new island that possibly gramps was on. Jin told Lindsey to make sure everyone was all set and to have red take scouting party out.

"Will do!"

Lindsey glanced around deck and didn't see Red around. She guessed maybe he was in his room so she headed down to check but when she opened the door to check, no Red. She contiued to check different rooms like the kitchen, the bathroom the gym any other rooms he could possibly be but she couldn't find him anywhere.

"Ugh Where the hell is he!"

She crossed her arms annoyed and glanced around the hall and took noticed of droplets of blood on the floor. Lindsey raised an eyebrow and followed the trail right up to the infermary she then opened the door to see Red. There was a slightly confused look on her face.

"Scarlet?"

Lindsey took noticed of his hand.

"What happened to you?"

Lindsey asked as she shut the door behind her.

"Listen Jin wants want you take a scouting party.....if you can...need any help with that?"

She said referring to his hand.

By the time they miracoulously left this smoldering cave, Dominique La'Sar had been absorbed into her own mind. Though not the past but the present plagued her. She subtly took in her crew mates. One by one, each of them exhausted to the last shreds of their body. The cook numbly followed them through various sketchy scenes. A labratory? But as she blinked the robotical member of their merry family stood before them. He began to march back to the ship.

At least, Dom hoped he did exactly that. Every step became a task she had to force her body to fulfill. Not because of actual exhaustion. But to leash the wildfire in her veins had taken a toll on her. Nonetheless, those memories picked on her energy as well. Like craws would devour a corpse. Exactly what Abraham carried around. Dom didn't feel like exploring the very reason he'd do that.

To test, to discover, a tiny voice screeched in the back of her head. She did it with some herbs she often found. Or a new dish she wanted to try. Before she understood the coherence between two ingredients and how their various characteristics mixed together, she needed to try, try and try. She arrived at some wild strings twirling into one conclusion. Abraham perhaps wanted to study the lifeless body before him. What she wondered was how in all hell's name he could even muster carrying that around.

Dom shrugged it off. Not her concern, not her issue. Her issue had blue scales, a tiny head with an even smaller brain, wings and a tail. The lizard- who was actually a dragon- on her shoulder became an additional weight on her legs by sitting on her shoulder. Whilst Dom worried about their lifeless new companion, Linsie had other doubts. Perhaps the new pet Aries brought along should have rattled her as well. Yet again... one worry was enough. She could pretend the zombie-puppy was just a pup.

"Linsie, du fettes Schwein," she groaned, flexing her feet. Walking around in heels over such a time- she should have reconsidered her choice a thousand times. And Linsie didn't help the tiniest bit. She knew her shoes had shoveled their graves in her feet and bones. Even her back carried the pain from sitting in a cave all night long. If this is what old people feel like, she thought, craning her back until it gave an satisfactional crack, I will never, ever become old. The witchling gave herself a new goal on her inner list. Besides writing down some recepies for Fiona and co. (and mildly for herself and her cheese-brain), she now guessed she should ask Aries about a book about her kind. Though only one of her parents had been one, she supposed, there was still a minor chance left that Dom could live for an absurd amount of time. Though, her family didn't have to know such things... yet.

She trailed her mind for scenerios where she might have told them. One of them ended with her landing on the streets again for whatever reason. Although her sould repelled the idea of her crewmates reaching such a low level of cruelity. And whilst Dominque La'Sar wrapped her head around meals and scenerios, she forgot about the pain wincing in her bones and muscles. Until the stranded ship came into sight.

Dom didn't sprint. But her fast walk over to the wooden thing took up to a speed faster than normally suggested other things. She simply didn't care for any see yous or get well. Her guts repelled this idea as well. Especially because her friend, whom she originally asked to tag along, seemed more dead than their new friend. I will cook you a meal, she said in her mind whilst looking back to little Hush. The girl needed rest andsomething to feast on. How would her body receive enough energy to heal otherwise? How was Abraham supposed to continue to play their healer without a proper meal either? She had duties to fulfill. But first she needed a new outfit. Dom wrote on her inner list to also buy a new dress since hers has ripped.

Before her door even shut out everything, the cook had already flung herself into her bed. Not as comfortable as the one bed she once experienced in a luxurious hotel but it still cushioned her fall. As if it sucked her into the mattress, as if it wanted to invite her in. Dom simply laid down. Only for a few minutes. After at least three of them passed, her hand slipped up and down in the direction for her pillow. Until a metallic, technological advanced thing found its rightful place. Dom didn't convince herself to sit up. Her face pressed in her bedsheet, she turned it to the small display.

A lawine of messages rolled into her brain. New posts, new news and a message. She registered Azure asking where they were and it took her a minute to tip a response with one hand. We are back, she texted them. Afterwards, Dom dropped her body and let herself accept the bed's invitation. Her useless dragon pet rested on her back soon after. If she posted this moment, it'd sure as hell get as many likes as her ego graved it. But who would see her defensless dragon? Some people with ill intention? Probably.

Dom still snapped a picture. She held her free hand up in a "rock'n-roll" sign whilst sticking her tongue out and getting Linsie on that image. Instead of allowing the entire world to see it, she allowed her world to witness this moment exclusively. The picture soon became a prominent and remaining box in the Crew's member group chat. Your two favorite girls are back, she jokingly wrote beneath it and made sure to equip the dry message with emojis. It obtained a whole different mood right away.

"Linsieeee, " she sing-sang and turned on her back. The bluish lizard yelped in surprise but managed to leap beside her. "I need to change and then we check in with the others, okay?"

She wasn't tired. Only her legs and feet gave up but with a ten minute rest they might relax. Especially with new shoes even. Her dragon gave a silent nod of approval before her head, too, rested on the mattress. For a moment, the attempt to stand up failed miserably, like a miscalculated cake. She could law down like Linsie with ease. Dom supposed no one wanted to bother her for a while. Though they must have been hungry. Starving even! She didn't trust Jin enough to create a whole meal. Perhaps Fiona had in order to keep everyone fed. But even that Dom doubted.

"Ach, scheiรŸ drauf," Dom hissed through her gritted teeth as she got up again. She grabbed one of her creams and dispensed it evenly over her walking machineries. It cooled them down and brought the red marks on her heels to a calming sensation. She stretched, her dress taking the final slipping contest and failed it.

Dom laughed a little as she stripped it off. In the forest, Hush almost suffered a heart attack as the thing almost tripped over her hip. She supposed keeping the atmosphere clean of any accidents or remarks did has its use. Before her hands dived for a jeans and a top, she took a moment to take herself in. The black hair more wild than a herd of raging geese triumphing over their victims. She fixed it quickly and ran a hand through it. A controlled chaos was better than a herd of geese.

Her body had suffered several blue marks of their journey, even some remarkable scratches. Dom wondered if she might would have had a stitched arm by now or even no arm at all if it weren't for Linsie's arrival. You should have used that fire within you, the tiny, itsy-bitsy voice said again. Like a lamp, Dom turned it off. She would have burned that entire forest down and worst, she would have burned them. How would they even react to her abdomination of power? Would they fear her? Who or what could leash her flames? Would they ask her that? No. They wouldn't understand- understand, that Dom couldn't simply look at her fire and smile at it. Not when it had taken so many lifes already. Sure, she didn't mind it eating her foes. But her family? No.

Dominique sighed and slipped into her daily apparel. A black top with a loose christmastree-green jacket thrown over and a high-wait jean with the most worn and comfortable sneakers possible. They matched with her jacket at least.

"Come on, Lins, we got a job to do," she called out as she hid her phone in one of her pockets. The dragon instantly found herself back on Dom's shoulder. Her feet had a faint whisper of burning at her soles, but at least she could often sit whilst the vegetables would cook. Whilst the fire-spitting pair overcame the way to the kitchen, Dom gave her dragon a good pet. "You did great yesterday, " she told her. Thanks for being there, she left unsaid.

The creature gave a crooning purring sound. Dom took it as a you're welcome.

She halted in her tracks as she arrived in her kitchen. Her nose instantly went off. It smelled like coffee, or at least a little bit and... bacon? No. She took an intense inhaling of the aroma and crept closer to her workingplace. Burnt?! What in the- She took a look through her pans and knifes. Not one left in her order. Almost- almost that restrain of leashing that fire reduced itself to zero. But someone had done all they could to clean this mess up.

"Diese Arschgeigen," Dom murmured into her breath. But she took those long minutes to bring everything back to order before she eventually started to wash some carrots and tomatoes. A sharp knife cut clean through them and scraped it into one of the pans she had taken out. Linsie spit a kindle of ember on the stove. Whilst they took in the heat and slowly crumbled under its mighty hand, she already chopped a piece of a pig into slices. Not breakfast-bacon, but some good steaks. They, too, landed on the stove. Dom pulled a chair for her and planted her patient self on it.
Though her body called for an even longer rest, she always stood up and checked her food. Never had she done cooking half-hearted. Her entire soul linked with her muscles when she swung the knife or took the spoon for a ride in the pot. Not once had she seen this task as a mere job. Cooking was an artsy field that required a heart and the perfect senses. A bad seasoned steak was no steak at all. Only the perfect amount of salt and pepper and whatnot she grabbed equaled to a meal worthy of being eaten.
And when she stood behind the stove the world dissolved into a liquid. Nothing brought her out of this state unless someone actually screamed at her. Her eyes observed the meat turning, the grease bubbling under it and the steam rising. The aroma knocked the burnt-scent of bacon out of the air and filtered through her nose. She hoped others would, too, be hit by the delicious scent.
Soon after the vegetables seemed ready, Dom began to create a sauce a la Dominique La'Sar special.

EIREN BRACKUS
STATUS: OPERATIONAL | CALM
LOCATION: CROWS NEST OF THE S.S. INFINITY

When they arrived at the ship, after ensuring that no one required assistance, he decided that to be the best time to take his leave. Though he did not vocalize or otherwise demonstrate it in a physical manner, he was wonderstruck by the sight of the Infinity once again in the air, floating upon nothingness.

Finally... Finally they would be returning to the sky. Though he is an ageless thing now, at least for the most part, it felt like it has been so long since they had once been properly traveling through the skies.

It was time that the Infinity return to where it belongs. Not on this dreadful rock.

Eiren climbs the rungs of the rope up to the crows nest above, looking over the island. There was not much to say or think after that. There was simply a departure from the island and then open skies. What more was there to do other than to appreciate the view. Nothing at all really.

This was bliss. Pure bliss.

Aside from his constant watch, the only thing that caused him to emerge from his trance was when the ship approached the smoldering remains of the previously encountered ships. Not even the terrible shaking of the Infinity made him avert his gaze from the horizon.

As the Infinity began its approach from the oceans expanse, Eiren kept a close eye out for anything off. There was always a chance that there were survivors and that the glint of a snipers scope could be seen along the tree line ahead. However, once Jin leaps from the ship, he stands from his post and once again descends from the crows nest.

"I shall remain here. I have very little doubt that the Captain shall be found. However, keeping an eye on the ship while others are away is imperative. You can place the Infinity's safety in my hands. I shall guard her with all my being."

Though he had not been entirely clear about his beliefs, he had a strong feeling that the Captain was well. The hulking old man had survived much worse than the freefall of a powerless ship. To the automaton, the idea that the Captain had perished was utterly impossible.

It had to be.

Whatever the case, he could keep good eye upon the ship. That, and he also had people he wished to speak too among those once missing on the island. There was much to be curious about and the health of others to be concerned about as well.

He was entirely thankful that questions weren't raised when they entered the ship. At this point in time, he wanted nothing more than to pass out on his bed and get debriefed later... preferably not but the corpse he was holding would raise a few eyebrows. Not to mention the very obviously odd pup that Aries had taken out of its cage. It was docile and friendly so Abraham didn't really care what happened there. Besides, it could hold some answers to the questions that had popped into his head. He trudged through the ship, following behind the others with his mind raging between getting food and getting sleep.

To his surprise and disappointment, the infirmary was not empty. Holding a roll of gauze in his hand and wrapping it around the other was Red who seemed to be doing a little bit of a sloppy job with the wound. "Remind me to teach you next time how to properly bandage yourself one-handed." Abraham claimed as he placed the rolled up corpse onto the ground furthest from the door and furthest from everyone else. Napoleon and Aries tucked Hush into one of the beds before he grabbed povidone-iodine from the cabinet. He approached Red and tugged on his injured hand, observing it for a moment as he began unraveling the gauze. "Better to disinfect it first. It's quite a deep wound, are you feeling alright? Lightheadedness? Did you apply pressure before bandaging it up?" He asked as he grabbed some cotton and began to dab at the wound. If he was in better condition, he would have just used his power to close it.

"Apologies," Red muttered, his gaze directed to the floor as he kept his injured hand in the air, thin streams of his blood still running down his arm and dripping from his elbow to the floor. As Abe questioned him Red shook his head lightly, his mind seemingly coming and going as he was questioned. "I... No, I'm fine. I just kept it levitated and wrapped it up with some spare gauze I found," he answered, his free hand resting on his knee to keep it from bouncing up and down.

"Alright. No need to be sorry. You didn't lose too much blood so that's good." Abraham pressed the cotton onto Red's wound to finalize cleaning it before beginning to reapply the bandage. "Don't do any strenuous activities with your hand. It'll just aggravate your wounds. Come back here so I can properly clean it or you can do it yourself. I can just give you this antiseptic. If you really must, you can come back and I can just close it. I prefer doing it naturally but I just... I just need to rest, yeah?" He ended the lecture by finishing the bandaging, looking quite satisfied with himself.

Red nodded slowly as he listened to Abe's instructions, his expression void of emotions even as the stinging pain in his palm continued to burn. A slow breath escaped him as Abe finished his work and Red gently flexed his fingers, staring at his newly bandaged hand with a glint of irritation in his eyes.
"Of course Mr. Abraham, I appreciate your help. I won't add to your burdens, I'll let this heal naturally," he replied before pausing for a moment, seemingly trying to find his voice.

"Hush, what is her condition?" he asked, his voice low and tone cold.

Abraham stepped back, thoughts barely lingering on Red's reactions. He turned to where Hush had been laid down.
"It's an infection. It's nothing major now that we're back in the infirmary with supplies." He replied honestly. "After some medicine and rest, she should be back to peak condition. If you're thinking of bringing her along for recon, I'd suggest waiting a few days." He huffed as he turned back to Red. "If she'd allow herself that long to rest."

A low sigh escaped Red, his uninjured hand slowly running over his knee as Abe assured him Hush would recover. He would glance over to his young companion, his gaze hard and unmoving, a hint of guilt visible in his features. Red returned his gaze to Abe as he suggested Hush remain here while he prepared the scouting party. He gave a firm nod and rose to his feet.

"Of course, I wouldn't dream of bringing her along in this condition," he said before a ghost of a smirk came to his face at Abe's comment about Hush staying in bed. "She is restless. If you must, tie her down if she attempts to escape your care," a half chuckle escaped him, though it seemed to do little good to cheer him up. "Truly though, thank you for your aid. Our crew would be at a great disadvantage without your expertise," he said, his words low yet genuine.

"I'll leave that to Father Napoleon and Aries. I'm sure they can handle her better than I can." He responded with a small smile, raising a fist to his mouth as he let out a yawn. He blinked at Red's praise and he felt a pang of guilt strike through his heart at how genuine he was being. He rubbed at his eyes, keeping his gaze away from the hunter. "'m just doing my job. I might as well use my powers for something, right?"

As Red pulled his coat back onto his body he gave a firm nod as Abe insisted he was simply doing his job. "Yes, I suppose you are right. Such talent as yours should not go to waste," he stated, his eyes examining Abe for a moment before buttoning his coat's waist button. "You play an essential role, Mr. Abraham. We can stand to lose a hunter. You on the other hand will be much harder to replace," he said as he examined his coat for any wrinkles, his words firm and honest.

Abraham shook his head, letting out a heavy sigh. "Perhaps you don't remember but your crew has been doing fine before I had come along less than a year ago." He pointed out before he paused. He set his jaw, wondering for just a moment what his next words should be. "Maybe this ship... this crew can continue on with losing either of us but that doesn't mean we're not important. There's a lot of hunters out there, but there is only one you and I believe that a lot of people here would agree that you are irreplaceable."

Because that was the truth. Even with his friends from before, some people have tried to step up as leaders and speakers but there was always a void left by the loss of the original leaders.

A heavy silence hung over Red as Abe spoke, his gaze falling to the floor as a distant look came to his eyes as he fell into his thoughts. Without realizing it his hand fell atop his sheathed sword and his fingers lightly tapped onto its pommel. Abe's words were touching to a degree, but Red couldn't accept them as truth. It could never be the truth and he has come to accept that a long time ago. Red would of course keep this to himself, taking in a slow breath before looking back to meet Abe's gaze.
"I will take that to heart Mr. Abraham, thank you for your kind words," he would reply with a ghost of a smile, his words light yet his expression reserved of most emotion.

Glancing over to Hush his reserved expression faltered to one of concern.
"If I could Mr. Abraham, can I ask of you to watch over Hush for a little longer? I know you are exhausted from your venture, but I believe I will have other matters to attend to today and I... it would be a great relief to know she is in capable hands," his voice grew much softer towards the end, his gaze soon returning to Abe's with a silent plead behind his usual stoic features.

Abraham nodded, glad that he seemed to have been making some sort of sense. His shoulders slackened and he tried his best to keep himself grounded in the land of the awake. The lack of urgency in the current situation was causing his body to relax and he knew that he couldn't sleep yet. He needed to make one more round to deal with everything before himself.

Red's earnest request was met with a blank stare before Abraham nodded.
"I will be. I told you, I'm here to do my job. Once I'm sure she's stabilized and safe from any complications, then I'll rest." It was honest and straightforwardโ€” he had never slacked off on his job as a doctor of this ship ever since he joined. He wasn't keen on starting now. "I wouldn't leave anyone in a dangerous state. Please understand that."

"I... of course. I apologize Mr. Abraham, I meant no offense," Red apologized with a brief bow of his head. It was foolish of him to doubt Abe's dedication to his job, but a hidden fear gnawed away at the back of his mind and needed complete assurance that his companion would be well taken care of. "I understand completely, and I thank you once again for your services," he said before letting out a small sigh, his hand resting on his sword as he forced himself to not glance in Hush's direction.

The faux doctor nodded, accepting the apology without issue. Perhaps he was being a bit too snappy, he realized belatedly, but had none of the courage to apologize for his own behavior. So he took a few steps back, angling himself in preparation to leave the hunter alone. "You're welcome. Is that all? Because if so, I'll go ahead and take care of Hush's wounds."

"Yes, yes, please do. Thank you again for tending to my wounds," his words were slightly rushed, realizing he had been taking up Abe's time when he could have been tending to Hush instead of him. Red would spare his bedridden crew mate a heavy and concerned gaze one last time before hearing the door to the infirmary open and set his attention to Lindsey as she delivered him new tasks to undertake.

Onto the next problem. Once Hush was done washing up, it was time to actually address her growing infection.

Abraham began to rifle through his medicine cabinet before taking out some medications and moving to Hush. Almost silently, he began to work on the wound. He cleaned it with an antiseptic and grimaced at the fact that it was already well on its way to becoming a pain in the ass to fight. Once he had cleaned it off, he replaced the gauze.
"Unfortunately, it's already infected. I'll prescribe you some antibiotics and as long as you follow the schedule, it should heal." With that, he wrote down the instructions for the antibioticโ€” when to drink it and how many times in a day. He added other medication to address her fever and some vitamins to aid her healing. Once that was finished, he placed the paper next to the desk alongside the medicine for either Napoleon, Red, or Aries to address. They seem to be eager to be Hush's caretakers. Less work for him.

Once he was finished with them, he drew the privacy curtains to cover all of the beds to make sure none of them were disturbed. He let out a sigh as he looked down at his own arm. Thankfully, it hadn't gotten infected during the time but it certainly wasn't pretty. He peeled back the bloodied bandage and grimaced as his laser focus on his job began to waver and reality harshly pulled him back. Did he need to stitch this? Can he even remember? He couldn't heal himself. He couldn't just pop it back to perfection like with the others. Think. Think. Clean it. Just clean it for now. Too tired to think. Too panicked to rest. He hurried over to the infirmary's bathroom, locking it behind him as he began to pour antiseptic onto his wound, biting his lip as the sting of the wound sent his body into another awake state. Okay. It's clean now. Should he stitch it now? Did they have any anesthesia? He can't remember. He didn't perform surgeries often... or at all. He shouldn't even be doing it.

No, no, wait. He shouldn't stitch it for the risk of infection. He remembered reading something like that. So just clean it and bandage it. For now. Right? Right. He rolled the bandage around his arm, praying that he was remembering correctly. He looked back at himself in the mirrorโ€” this pitiful state he had found himself in. He was no stranger to being in bad circumstances but he couldn't run to a doctor. He was the doctor. He let out a heavy sigh as he collected some fresh clothes, cleaned himself up, and walked back to the infirmary. It was never had this many people before. But he couldn't even think about it anymore as he plopped down onto one of the free beds and promptly fell asleep.

It was a dreamless sleep. One he was thankful for. Yet he still woke up with a jolt, heart racing and breaths shallow. Where were they? Were they still on the island? Somewhere else? He peered out of the windows and noticed that they were in the open air, smoke billowing out from somewhere close by below the ship. Were they at the wreckage from before?

He made his rounds around the infirmary, starting with his own wound before cleaning Hush's. Abraham muttered that he was going to get some food and made his way through the ship. He could hear some commotion up top and he idly wondered if Azure and Jin had found something. Whatever they found could wait in his head. He wasn't too keen on heading off into another exploration or what have you. He was much better hidden safely behind the comfort of the ship. Much more useful that way instead of almost dying because he couldn't pace himself for his own patients.

Abraham was about to head towards the kitchen before stopping at one of the storage units upon hearing something shuffling inside. Curious, he gently opened the door to see Fiona with her phone out and extending her arm out. He paused, blinking owlishly. "If you're looking for a signal, I think... you might have better chances above deck." He pointed out. He was about to give her some space as he stepped back before he snapped his fingers and he poked his head inside the room again. "Oh, Miss Fiona. Can I ask you for a favor? I think you would be a big help with... this particular problem."

A small frown rested on Red's face as he was called Scarlet, but ignored the name as he approached Lindsey. He spared a brief glance at his injured hand as she questioned him about it and let out an irritated sigh. "An accident, nothing more," he answered with a bitter tone before looking back to Lindsey as she informed him of Jin's orders. Rolling his shoulders and trying to ignore the tense feeling in his shoulders, Red gave a firm nod before holding up his bandaged hand as she asked if he needed help. "No, Mr. Abraham has already seen to my injury. I am still able and ready to perform my duties," he assured her, his tone cold and slightly irritated before resting his uninjured hand atop his sword. "I'll gather a small party of volunteers who are able and willing then," with a curt bow of the head he would then make his way past her and exit the infirmary, his steps fast and his expression hard as he silently forced his mind to focus on nothing else but the job given to him. Anything to distract his confused and frustrated mind was welcomed at the moment, Red refusing to be dragged into his troubled thoughts any further. Nothing else mattered, just the task given to him by his superiors. 'Nothing else, nothing else, nothing else' was all he repeated to himself as he quickly marched through the halls, each step seeming to have a purpose as his expression remained void of emotion. To think he actually tried to fool himself that this day would be a positive one. Childish foolery.

It wouldn't be long until he came upon the kitchen and remembered there was an intercom system located inside. Perfect, it would save him time hunting people down across the ship. As he entered the kitchen for the second time today, he was quickly hit with the aroma of deliciousness that for a brief moment calmed his mind, making him close his eyes and take a small breath before regaining his senses and seeing the cause for such a reaction.
"Dom, it is good to see you back. You were both sorely missed the morning," Red would say to the ship's chef as he saw her behind the stove with her small fire-spewing companion next to her, a brief memory of his earlier attempts to cook flashing in his mind before shaking the thought away and returning to the present. Seeing Linsie reminded him of the journal he had discovered yesterday, but he would have to speak with Dom later about that when he had more free time. "Excuse me, but I have need of the intercom," he informed her before making a beeline for the intercom system. He wasted no time connecting to the ship's coms and cleared his throat before speaking.

"To any abled-bodied and active personnel aboard the ship, volunteers are needed for a scouting party requested by first mate Jin Aethor. I repeat any abled-bodied and active personnel volunteers are needed for a scouting party mission. No more than four volunteers will be needed for this expedition, myself included, so three more able bodies will be enough. Report to the bottom of the ship's rampart to volunteer. You have ten minutes before I depart, with or without you."

Red's final statement toward the end of his announcement might have sounded harsh or irritated, but he paid little mind to it and ended the intercoms transmission, a heavy sigh escaping him as he quickly patted down his coat. "If you are remaining here Dom, I would ask that you bring a portion of food to Hush who is currently bedridden in the infirmary. It would... be much appreciated," he stated, his voice soft at the end of his sentence as he kept his gaze directed elsewhere away from her, not wanting her to see his emotionless expression falter for a moment. Without another word he hurried out of the kitchen, his quick pace once again carrying him with a single goal. A part of him wanted to remain in the kitchen, to check in with Dom and ask about her injuries and well-being, but he couldn't afford to waste any more time or be pulled back down into the muck that was his head.

A heavy silence hung over Red as he hurried through the ship and back onto the top deck, taking a moment to breathe in the fresh air, feeling a sense of nostalgia at the sharp yet welcomed scent of the sea's salty breeze. Red wanted nothing but to slip out of his coat and enjoy a relaxing moment on the edge of the ship, drawing or wood carving whatever came to mind as he let the waves of the ocean gently lull him to a serene mindset. This wanted pleasure would have to wait, however, reality returned to remind him of his duties. With a roll of his shoulders and neck, Red made his way down the ship's lowered ramparts, quickly spotting both Jin and Azure at the bottom. "The scouting party will be departing momentarily, Mr. Aethor," he would inform the first mate with a neutral tone as he reached the bottom of the ramp, his boots finally hitting real solid earth. He glanced at Azure and noticed the somewhat pleading look he held. It wasn't too hard to figure out where Jin was planning to go, and by the looks of it, Azure had the same idea. Red would remain silent though, wrapping his hands behind his back, holding back a wince of pain as he was rudely reminded of his wounded hand, and standing at attention to wait for any more instructions from his superior.

She was one of many things- loving, attractive, a good listener. But patience? Absolutely a word she did not know the slightest. Her body rebelled against her standing up from time to time to turn the steaks around or to start making the sauce. Her eyes traveled to the box sitting in her kitchen. The intercome she usually used to announce that food was ready. She would have to get over there as well. Great.

Right after she sat down again, the door to her kitchen opened. In synchronization, Dominique La'Sar and Linsie the usueless reptile, looked up upon the man entering. One of the many crew members who thought only one of them spit fire. Shre dragged her brow up at him.

"Dom, it is good to see you back. You were both sorely missed the morning," he said to her. A tiny rock clunging to her heart fell to the end of her stomach. They did miss her cooking then. Dom supposed he was one of the crooks who caused her kitchen the aroma of something burnt. She didn't feel like telling him her suspicion or asking him what the crew did this morning.

Though she narrowed her eyes as his attention clung on her dragon for a beat too long. Dom shifted on her seat and yet again, decided to let the fellow crew member do his thing. When had he joined again? A year ago? She failed to recall the exact date. But to her it felt like everyone had been a part of this crew for quite a time now. She was used to see their faces, talk to them or cook for them. When or how they joined... she particualry couldn't have cared less.

"Excuse me, but I have need of the intercom," he said to her before turning to the very machine she had to use later on as well. The meat in her pans sizzled and fired oil on the stove. Her nose would tell her when something began to burn away, thus she allowed her focus to fix on the man in her kitchen. He wasn't here for her or her food, only for the intercom. As he made his announcement, Dom weighted the amount of work or physical strainments connected to hunting. But the idea soon flew away. She had to cook whatever they caught later on. This alone brought her enough work.

"If you are remaining here Dom, I would ask that you bring a portion of food to Hush who is currently bedridden in the infirmary. It would... be much appreciated," he turned away at the last part of his sentence. The two of them often got a drink or two together. He sometimes joined her when his duty, or whatever Red was doing, was fulfilled and she just finished cleaning the kitchen. But not once had Red broken eye contact or lower his voice. Hush had more people concerning about her than she probably thought. Although the red mane and the quiet kid often joined together in activities.

"Sure," she replied to him, the only thing she mustered to say as he had already fled her kitchen. Dom turned to Linsie and let her hand roll over her head. "Everyone is so quick these days. Not even a moment to ask for our well-being. Rude, isn't it? You could have sprained an ankle an no one would know, my poor Linsie."

Her dragon simply listened to her, not a thought behind those big eyes. Sometimes, Dom believed her dragon was more of a feline than a vicious beast.

Dom stretched and checked the meals. They looked almost finished. She let the doors in her body open a little. Only a small crack so her flames could peer outside. She had lost her control of them once but it didn't mean she didn't know how to use them or bend them to her will. Especially since no one was around her, Dom allowed them to funnel into her hand. A bluish flame errupted in the middle of her palm. As if it was a part of her. But the cook knew better than to engulf the magic, than to embrace her abilities. Only a few times it proved as useful. Linsie, who had somehow obtained the color of Dom's fire, watched in awe as the witch finished the meat herself.

As quick as the ember had stirred, as quickly it was forgotten and never seen. Dom prepared everyone a plate. If they were hungry, they could visit now or later. She turned to her kitchen-helper. "You stay here, ya?"

Linsie gave her a flash of teeth in response. She guessed it meant yes. Dom turned her back to her kitchen, with a singular plate in her hands. It didn't take her long to reach the infirmary.

She didn't announce herself, scared the girl was asleep and she might wake her with it. On soft tip-toes, Dom crossed the distance from the door to the bed and set the plate down beside it. Hush looked as she probaly felt- horrible. If you just hadn't asked her to tag along, the tiny voice in her head whispered again. In her heart, she admitted to the very voice. This was her fault. And yet in her head she knew no one could have known these things exist. At some point, Dom wished those rascals to be a bear. This, at least, she could have burned.

"I am sorry," she said beneath her breath. The kid shouldn't have had to do this. To fight for them again and again. Now- where had it gotten her? Wound up here in the infirmary looking as if she survived a war. And yet again, Hush had continously pushed herself even though the dog had helped her or berated her. All she could do was to cook. Anyone else could have done such. Just a few tricks here and a few books here and they could create a meal.

Instead of helping, Dom had done nothing. Without her dragon, who could've said how things had turned out yesterday? She shook her head. They all came out alive. The most important thing was for them to be back, wasn't it?

The cook decided to stay beside the bed, even though her body screamed at her to not. Her feet burned, her legs cramped and she certainly had to drink sooner or later. Not water, but her liquor. One day she had made without it. One day too much. She could forget the voice and whatever plagued her heart if she grabbed to the bottle again.

And Dom La'Sar would grab a bottle later on and just, forget she existed.

Barely able to make much distance from the ship before the sound of either something or someone had dropped from the ship's deck to land onto the ground had caught Jin's attention. As he came to a halt, even without turning to check on who or what had caused the noise, the male was already well aware of who had been behind him and what they wanted. As if on cue, the familiar voice of none other than Azure had spoken up, calling for Jin to wait and the plead to join him on his search for their Captain. Even with Azure attempting to reason with Jin to have him join in on the search, Jin kept silent as his gaze was focused onto that of the ground for several moments. "Azure...I'm sorry." Those would be the only words that left his lips before turning finally turning his head over his shoulder to face the younger male. However, the instant Jin had made eye contact with Azure, the look on the male's face and the tone in his voice as he pleaded with him practically broke Jin's heart deep down.

All he wanted was to keep Azure safe for the Captain's sake, him and Aries, the last thing either one of them needed to see was the possible sight of seeing a mangled-up corpse of someone they all held so dear to them. Even if Jin knew that sort of sight would also break him mentally and emotionally, he knew well enough that he would have to fight through the pain no matter what it meant as the temporary or even possibly new Captain of the Infinity and her crew. One way or another, he had to stay strong no matter what they found at the wreckage. However, as Azure's expression clearly showed the desperate attempt to convince Jin to allow him to join on the rescue mission, he finally submitted before exhaling a defeated sigh under his breath. "Ok Azure...you can come with...but promise me, if things take a turn for the worse. You will run back to the ship, with or without me. PROMISE ME AZURE." While Jin's tone at first was soft and understanding, as he finished his sentence, his expression turned stern and almost demanding, clearly showing that he wasn't about to take 'no' for an answer before the duo departed.

While waiting for a confirmation from Azure; overhearing Eiren speak up from the main deck of the ship after descending from the crow's nest, rather than fully reply to the automaton in a vocal manner, Jin would wave a single arm over his head to register what was stated and show that he had heard and approved of the mechanical crewmember's thought of what to do.
Mere moments later, the sounds of heavy footsteps descending from the loading ramp of the ship was soon heard followed by yet another familiar male voice speaking up. Directing his attention to the new voice that spoke up only to find that it was none other than Red stating that the scouting party would soon be leaving. The sight of how Red was alone at the time was rather questionable, though Jin wouldn't bother to speak up regarding that at the moment. Believing in his crewmember's decisions enough that he wouldn't act without some sort of laid out plan prior to scouting unknown territory. "Good, make that large tree we saw in the distance coming in your first priority. Something is off about that...it doesn't feel like its naturally supposed to be there. Me and Azure will be heading to the wreckage site. If there is nothing of interest at the tree, then feel free to come join us at the wreckage." After relaying directions to Red, Jin once more returned his attention back to that of Azure; no matter what his response would've been by this point, Jin immediately turned to face the large rising black cloud in the distance before proceeding to head through the dense forest to head towards it.

Hush
A discreet grumble escaped Hush as she opened her eyes. It was midday, a dazzling light peeping through the infirmary's windows. Looking around, the assassin realized she was tucked in bed, no different than a child. All events prior were hazy in her mind, Anika's recollection shrouded by shaky images and a blurry remembrance. From what she did recall, their group successfully escaped the tunnel. She was then brought back, where Aries assisted her in washing up and changing her clothes. After taking some medication, she was out like a light. How long had she slept?

To her side, on a nearby nightstand, her old clothes were neatly folded. Her knives and the eternum crystals she snatched were placed on top, causing the apprehension in her muscles to relax. Snuggly wrapped under a blanket and having three pillows under her head, the girl felt like a butterfly ready to escape its cocoon. Due to Aries' upkeep, Hush's onyx-black hair was no longer tied in a ponytail, resting well past her shoulders and brushed to perfection. Instead of her burdensome armor, she wore a loosely fitted white t-shirt and grey sweatpants. Spare clothes at the courtesy of the librarian.

Though her curtains were drawn, she heard the distinct purr of Napoleon sleeping nearby. Was his condition stable? The girl pursed her lips. Since the priest had time to rest, she assumed Abraham did his job correctly. The teenager also knew her dogged companion would complain if she worried over his condition rather than her own. Testing herself, she tried to raise her arm, only to be met with a shaky resistance. Had she not been treated sooner, she wondered what the outcome would've been.

As if on cue, her attention caught sight of the woman beside her. With her nose buried in a book, leaning forward in an enraptured state, Aries was seemingly lost in another one of her fantastical stories. Had she stayed here the entire time? A sudden pit formed in the assassin's throat. Aries' teary-eyed face still stung in her mind. It pained her to admit it, but the crew-initiated therapist, at the time, was correct. Had Napoleon not intervened, it was likely Hush would've pushed herself too much. What did they expect in those circumstances, though? Bitterly closing her eyes, she scrunched her nose in thought.

Then, the speakers played. Red's commanding voice took over the room, requesting assistance. They were already on another island. Hush held back the temptation to stand up and join them, as farfetched as the notion was given her condition. It appeared her position as the scout wasn't necessary. The crew could make do without her. That was a fact. One she kept prevalent in her mind. They could turn on her in an instant without recourse. She needed to regain her strength before that happened.

"Do you want to go?" she asked Aries. "To find Gramps, I mean," the girl promptly clarified. Though she didn't understand it herself, it was clear that Aries was worried for her relative. Demanding them to play the babysitter was too much. "Don't worry. I'll be okay."

Despite her affirmations, the girl didn't mask her doubts. There were too many uncertainties to say anything with confidence. With their slow return to the Captain's side, it was probable that the man was long gone, likely captured, killed, or otherwise. The assassin never said this. Unlike her, Aries still possessed hope. It was a quality she didn't want to take from the librarian.

That was when Dominique came in, plate in hand. Setting the steaming platter of meat on the bedside table, followed by a subtle apology that Hush barely caught, they took a seat, carelessly uncorking a drink and drowning in depravity. It was a wonder as to how their liver survived this long. However, it wasn't her business to reprimand the adult.

"Give it to the Father," she urged, not daring to look the cook in the eyes. "I'm not hungry," came a biting follow-up. Their charity was unwarranted. She didn't need more reasons to pity herself, nor did she want to get any closer to them. Not if she plans to leave the ship sooner or later. Anika was confident Jin would make sure of that.

THE PINKETTE SHUFFLED FORWARD, HANDS TUCKED SNUGLY beneath his armpits to appear smaller, shoulders curled inward. He tugged at the sensitive flesh, worrying it between his teeth with a whimper, tears pooling against his waterline, threatening to spill down hallowed milky white cheeks, but he refused. He couldnโ€™tโ€”Yuhwa couldnโ€™t. He needed to be strong because who else would be when their lives were ripped apart from the sum without hope of mending it?

Everything was uprooted the second the pod let their guard down. The once six-member strong pod dwindled to three, far too broken. To hurt. He winced, curling into himself further, teeth gnawing on his bottom lip, shivering at the sharp stabs of pain it brought. He relished in the painโ€”a distraction. He knew Keane would reprimand him for destroying the sensitive flesh, telling him it could get infected, but it was the rough affection Yuhwa adored. He cared. That was new.

Yuhwa had forgotten what it was like to be looked after. To feel safe. After hisโ€”The pinkette shook his helm, banishing those thoughts to the depths of his mind, hoping to never unlock them. He couldnโ€™t wind back time, could he? Even if he wanted too, it was impossible. The desire to change his past was so strong it shook him to his very core, rattling his bones until he crumbled, shaking as sobs wracked through his petite frame. Oh, how he was a weak weak man.

The merman shuffled past various stalls that lined the streets of a small city they stumbled upon, minds far too preoccupied to realize where they were. Not that it mattered. Was living worth the suffering? The trauma? Yuhwa didnโ€™t know. He hated it. He didnโ€™t want the bone-chilling suffering that seemed never-ending. How much more could he take? The male frowned, glancing down at his shoes with a teary-eyed grin, hidden beneath his mask that provided Yuhwa some buffer against the onlookers who watched the traveler with narrowed optics.

He sighed, shaking his helm. He shouldnโ€™t be getting lost in thought, especially when he wasnโ€™t familiar with the area.

His baby blue optics shifted to stare at the small pouch tied to his belt loop, thumping against his thigh with soft clicks as the pearls inside moved with the notions. He sucked in a deep breath to steel his nerves, fingers reaching to curl around the pouch. I hope this is enough. He thought brows furrowed. If notโ€”Yuhwa wasnโ€™t too keen on initiating Plan B. Pleaseโ€”please be enough. If it was, the pinkette sure hoped itโ€™d last the three for a month, maybe more.

They were certainly running on fumes. The battle that hadnโ€™t transpired more than a few days ago left them raw, stripped of their resources with little remorse. To put it simply? They were broke. Incredibly so. Although Yuhwa wasnโ€™t so sure he should be trusted with the money, it wasnโ€™t like he told them where he was going. Letโ€™s hope I make it back before they realize Iโ€™m gone. He wasnโ€™t too thrilled about being alone in some strange city that traveled up his arms creating gooseflesh until it became painful by the minute. Okay! You can do this, Yuhwa! If not, thenโ€”He wasnโ€™t sure, but heโ€™d figure out something!

Yuhwa untucked his hands, wringing them with a nervous chitter, shuffling forward, baby blue hues watching the stands filled with various fruits and objects of high and low prices. The loud voices of people trying to sell whatever it is, overlap one another until it became a god-awful symphony that rattled his eardrums. He whimpered, wincing at the harsh noises attacking him from all sides, chest constricting as the heavy note of panic settled in, feeling trapped within his own body.

The pinkette hadnโ€™t been aware until he slammed into someoneโ€™s chest, body stumbling with a huff of surprise, pupils were blown wide. Oh, shit. He hadnโ€™t realized he was that far into his head untilโ€”Not good. Not good, at all.

His optics flickered up, squinting at the taller male through the eye sockets of his mask, frame stiffening at the murderous glare. โ€œS, Sorry!โ€ He squeaked. Way to go Yuhwa. He thought darkly, wincing inwardly at the nervous shutter. โ€œI didnโ€™t โ€ฆ I wasnโ€™t paying attention to where I was going! Silly me.โ€ He laughed, rubbing his nap with a sheepish expression.

โ€œ...โ€ The stranger stared down, lips trembling until they pulled back into a sneer. โ€œSorry? Thatโ€™s all you fuckinโ€™ got freak?โ€ Oh. โ€œYou fuckinโ€™ bumped into me! Sorry?!โ€ He barked out a laugh, grinning ferally, reaching out to grasp the front of Yuhwaโ€™s shirt, tugging the petite male closer. The proximity sent Yuhwa tensing, chest constricting with gasps slipping past parted lips, pupils blown wide in terror. Oh, no. No, no, noโ€”Oh god. I donโ€™t! What do I do? I canโ€™tโ€”He thought frantically.

โ€œIโ€”โ€ Get it together! โ€œIโ€™m s, sorry! I wasnโ€™t paying attention!โ€ His mouth parted, spewing out rambled apologies, frame shaking at the rough grip, sending his battered frame wincing. Ow. Still tender, huh? His brows furrowed in distaste. He couldnโ€™t afford to be hurt! He still had to take care of Keane and Masonโ€”They needed someone! He swallowed down the whimper.

The stranger snarled, slamming the male with an audible thump, crashing into the ground with an oof. He hadnโ€™t realized the twine that kept the bag shut untied, revealing the pearly white objects within. โ€œOh? Look it here.โ€ The man crouched down, grinning manically at the sight of thirty-some pearls. โ€œSince you have such a nice body, how about we make a deal, mhm? We pretend this never happened and you give me those pearls.

Maybe a night as a bed warmer, too.โ€

Yuhwa blinked, lips parted at the statement, brows furrowed. Whatโ€”What the hell? His heart thudded against his sternum, optics widening.

Marie Caldewell

|Location: S.S. Infinity Engine Room

Naturally when it was called for the crew to get off the ship for Azure to lift the ship, Marie had simply dismissed the idea. She was far too busy fine tuning the engine and ensuring everything was in tip top working shape. As the ship began to get lifted, Marie's legs wrapped around the wiping she was working on tightening the bolts keeping it together. the shift in gravity cause dher hair to suddenly start drifting to the side as the ship was slanted up as she continued to work. The Engineer still casually humming to herself as she worked completely nonchalant about the relative danger being on the ship while it was being lifted up.

There was no rest when there were things to tune up! Her little check at least made her aware there were some vibrations only making her want to ensure everything was snug and there was no leaks anywhere. It was amazing what a little rattling could do to loosing things up... or perhaps a rough crash landing after flying recklessly through the air out of danger with an unlicensed acceleration device. Some might consider it all crazy, Marie just considered it fun! Oh, and progress and what not. No doubt it was quite needed if you were to improve things. What is that crazy thing called 'controlled tests'? Just test small scale and if its fine jump up larger scale right away!

With a few more jostles and more awkward grapples by Marie the tussle of the ship finally seemed to come to a stop as she looked on giving a nod jumping off from where she had been. The mechanic kicking her legs out a bit a she stretched looking about. Her hand lifted up going over both mentally as well as roughly pointing with her tool at the various parts that could be possibly tightened together. A nice mental recap of it all as she thought it over. The girl nodding as she seemed content with her work. At least it was good enough for her. If she missed something it wouldn't be a big deal.

Marie blinked as she heard the engines hum as it seemed Azure turned them on. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she gently tapped the wrench against her head. It would of been good for her to know he planned to do so in the off chance she had been near some particular dangerous part. Oh well. The engineer shrugged as she put the wrench back onto her belt as it seemed her work for now was good. The woman wandering over as she sat herself down ready for the ship to move... sure enough it didn't take long before they set off rumbling their way forward and off to their next destination.

Upon arrival Marie had stood up. She could feel a bit of turbulence in the trip, the results itself not seeming linked to the engine given her eyes had been locked on it. Sure, it had some faults but nothing causing the bit of shaking. It had to of been a portion outside the ship that had been broken off causing a bit of instability. That said, she had to of done quite a fine job given how well it worked without it!

Marie blinked as she was caught walking over to get something to eat as the voice of Red found its way through the intercom. A scouting party it seemed. The girl shrugged a bit as she hummed going to simply continue on as her expression changed from a blank one to a rather wicked grin. Wait... she had just finished tinkering a bit with it the night before. Testing it on the ship would be a big problem even for what the ship had available, but... on the field? The engineer laughed to herself a she ran over to a nearby vent, half jumping into it as she went to pull something out.

_________________________________________________

A rather small but intimidating figure came walking forward approaching the small group at the ships rampart. Particularly thick goggles rested over Marie's face as she walked forward both hands on a rather large and strange looking gun. Rather then a solid barrel, it looked as if the weapon itself spit out in two portions one up top and one at the bottom. Yellow stripes ran along the metal. Along the sides smaller focused rings could be seen every few inches down towards the tip. A thick cable was attached to the side near the back of the weapon. The cable wrapped around to what was a rather bulky and large looking back. The pack itself let out a light him as a light indicated it was 'on' though several more lights were off. What they meant... only Marie really knew given she didn't bother to label it.

"I'm ready n' rearin' to go! Sorry, lil tight going down these halls wit' it." She spoke gesturing with the strange looking weapon. It had to of been nearly four feet in length from tip to the stock of it. The fact Marie was carrying it seemed almost like a miracle given you weren't familiar with what she was capable of. She was no super human but she wasn't a slouch either. She had to admit with the battery generator pack on her back it was far from the most easy to wear thing. It was very much weighing her down but her excitement to test was far outweighing any such worry.

She blinked looking at Jin as she smiled brightly. What was best described as the 'barrel' pointed at the cat boy with a bright smile as she waved. Marie was not at all familiar with gun safety. To her defense, it wasn't a typical gun so that meant it was not a big deal right? The engineer smiling excitedly as she waved it about. Granted, it wasn't exactly about to fire off on a whim...I mean at least if it did it would be low powered given it wasn't ratchetted up to full power just on standby mode. It was easier to start it up before then bring it out so it gave more fuel to keep it running longer over-all.

"Heeeey! Good ta' see your doin' good! Yah and Az headin' out? How's it going Az good job wit' the ship! Have fun doin' what ya doin'!" She shouted out towards the two as they seemed to be setting out already. The excited girl grinning with a light laugh escaping her lips. She was far too happy go lucky holding her new little creation wanting to test it out. Her eyes shifted to Red as she looked at him.

"Oy' Red! So... who is all comin' and when can I get to test fire this baby?" She spoke with a wide grin seeming more prepared for a battle over a simple scouting mission. The excited Marie gently brushing off the metal along the rail chamber quite clearly firing to go.

EIREN BRACKUS
STATUS: WATCHFUL | ON THE MOVE
LOCATION: DECK OF THE S.S. INFINITY

Eiren waits on the deck for a moment. His words had been acknowledged by a simple wave from Jin. He was not quite sure if he approved of being waved off like some manner of servant bot, even if it was in approval of his plans for what his duty would be. In truth, it bothered him a little. Was he not worthy of vocal acknowledgement? Why was he getting hung up on that? And why did he seem to be succumbing to his emotions so easily at this moment?!

Like the flick of a light switch, all of those emotions and thoughts were dismissed from his processing. Why he let those invasive thoughts occupy a large percentage of his processes, he did not know. He didn't express any of them physically, so that was a save on his part. Best not to let the crew in on his internal struggles. Although he had been staring at Jin abnormally long at this point. Yeah, best to turn now.

Once his back was to the edge of the ship, he looks up at his crows nest and then down at his hand. Shadow swirls from the joints in his mechanism before one of his little pets manifest in his palm. A little midnight rat with glowing eyes resembling his own. He raises his other hand, gently patting the rat on the head with the tip of a single digit.

He wasn't sure why he treated his ability like a pet. It was just that, a power to be used. A tool. Although, it allowed him to ease the loneliness that sometimes bubbled up into his mind. He had gone days before without a visitor to the crows nest. Just sitting up there, nothing to do other than his job. When he wasn't thoroughly studying the vie--... the ships surroundings, he spent time petting the odd, ethereal fur of his abilities summoned form.

It was relaxing. Therapeutic even. Not that he could actually feel it.

Once he finishes petting the shadow rat, which he was never really sure was received or appreciated by his creations, he placed the thing down onto the deck. It promptly scurried over to the ropes, climbing its way up to the crows nest. That was the end of that. He raises a hand and drags a finger across an eye in the shape of a plus sign. The moment the shape was traced, his eye flickers and then goes dark. It was a semi-permanent sacrifice of that eye to constantly view from the eyes of his pet. Handy when he had to keep watch, but wanted to walk about the ship at the same time.

He had a plan in mind today. While the Captain was being searched for, he would pay a visit to the infirmary. He knew that his comrades would pull through from their injuries, but it is always a common courtesy to pay a visit to the injured. To gauge their state of body. If only he had a way to force them into a more duty-ready state, like the good doctor Abraham. Unfortunately he did not possess such capabilities. Ultimately there was no use for such power in his arsenal.

As he gracefully steps through the passages of the ship, it takes him no time at all to reach the infirmary. He had this ship memorized from back to front. An easy journey. He grips the door handle to the infirmary before swinging it open. Gently. Didn't want to put another person in the infirmary because he hit them on the way in. He looks about before removing his hat, lowering his hood in the process, revealing the hair upon his head that the creator thought was a wise idea. Something about making him less intimidating if he had more human features.

He smoothes back his shoulder length hair before placing his hat against his chest.

"Greetings. Forgive me for not stopping by sooner. I simply have been tending to my duties. However, I am pleased to make time for my beloved comrades."

The whiskey- she hoped it was whiskey and not one of her mixtures- flowed through her throat like a hot, liquid mess. Only when she chucked her head to the back, Dominique La'Sar became aware of the presence she found herself in. Napoloen and Aries? How had she not noticed them earlier?

She blamed it on her tiredness.

The only thing she could offer as a greeting was her slight nod of head- which must have looked ridiculous judging her current position. Only when a tiny voice ringed in her ears, Dom sat up again. She clutched her bottle and tried to not look to sympathizing. If anything, Hush despised it when too much attention fell on her.
However, she had exclusively brought the food for her. Not for Father, not for Aries. For Hush alone and no one could stop her.

"Doggie can get his own plate, there is enough for everybody," Dom declared and scooched closer to the bed. "You, however, are barely able to move so lean back Hushie."

The cook didn't actually wait for the girl to obey or submit to her advice. With a smooth and careful places hand, Dom leaned Hush back and grabbed the fork and knife. She began to cut the meat, dunk it into her very pleasant turned out sauce and brought it close to Hush's mouth.

"So, you either eat it yourself or I will make you eat."

Not a question or request. A simple choice. Dom had the feeling Hush barely knew what choice meant and yet at the same time she didn't want her to select "starve-yourself-for-no-reason" either. If the girl didn't know how to take care of herself, Dom would. After all, as a cook, she had a responsibility to make sure her people were fed and growing some fat as well.

Hush's hesitation brought Dom to draw her hand back. "What? You don't like my... cooking?" The witch mustered all her sanity to bring furth the most saddest look of all time. It usually worked.

Just then, the door opened. Dominique averted her eyes to glance over her shoulder. The robotic companion, that had led them back to the ship if her memory served her right, stood right there apologizing to coming in so late. May it be the toxic liquid in her veins or her sheer exhaustion creeping over her, but she smiled bright and wide at Eiren Brackus. It might have looked like an entire mess and she did not care one second. All she wanted was to make sure Hush was taken care of and that she could get a long hour alone with- presumably- her whiskey bottle.

"Come join our small group then!" And help me feed this stubborn girl.

"Now," she turned to Hush yet again. "Are you going to eat or do you want to be fed? Special service, girl. And I want no extra bugs in exchange. Also, it is one of your more favorable meals, I made sure of that." I hope. She had to stop guessing and actually write a few things down.

Azure would take a shape inhale as Jin would begin to speak, ready to argue but afraid he might cry again, the last thing Azure wanted to do. Once their eyes met, Azure could feel himself breaking, knowing that he, himself, was hurting but also knowing Jin was too, but wasn't showing it like Azure was. That made Azure feel, weak, despite the insane inhuman strength he possessed like Gramps he hate this feeling. It made him feel less like a man than he already was, knowing no matter how hard he tried, nothing could change a few simple facts about himself. He would always have the emotional bandwidth of a female, the monthly reminder of being a female, the biology of being a female. If anything, he wanted to be more like Jin and Gramps. He wanted to be as strong as them, as tough as them, as talented as the two males were.

He wanted to speak, but Azure couldn't so held his tongue.
"Okay Azure...you can come with...but promise me, if things take a turn for the worse. You will run back to the ship, with or without me. PROMISE ME AZURE."
Azure would stand up taller and stiffen up as the first gentle tone of Jin would quickly turn stern. He would gulp a little, knowing that the likely hood of himself listening to this was, slim to none but, he didn't want to worry Jin. He was Azure's older brother and, he didn't want to upset him but at the same time, Azure wouldn't lose Jin. So Azure would give a small nod. "I...I promise Jin," he said softly, his eyes following Jin as he looked over to Red and Eiren and then looked do the ground, resting his large war hammer on the ground as the stand-in captain would address the others.

I take back that promise Jin...I won't lose you too. I can't. Azure thought to himself, knowing that by this point, Jin wouldn't have noticed the fact that Azure, as 'mature' as he was had crossed his hinders behind the handle of his war hammer when he made the promise. There was no way he was going to run away again. He was strong, physically at least and he might as well use himself as a human shield if needed. After all, unlike anyone else, Azure would in theory be able to recover from any physical wounds faster than most so really had no problem with throwing himself into the path of danger as he most often does. While it does cause people like Red to yell at him, it's effective, to say the least.

"Azure! You stupid boy! Use your head! Don't keep throwing yourself just because you can take a hit! DODGE YOU, IDIOT!" Gramps would have yelled at the just-transitioned Azure. It was only a month since his surprise top surgery, and Azure had begged Gramps to train him, to help build up natural testosterone and increase his own strength. Building muscles would help him look more masculine and feel more confident and Gramps really had a hard time saying no to the boy he saw as his own grandchild.
"I'm trying Gramps! I can't do it!"
Azure would breathe out, whipping sweat off his forehead as the two stood in the straining room Azure struggling against some large creatures Gramps had just put into the system.
"I just told you, use YOUR HEAD!"
Azure grumbled something under his breath as he was quickly knocked into the wall groaning loudly as he wasn't fully healed up yet, yet Gramps probably wasn't aware of this until the blood began to seep through Azure's shirt, as they still fit at this point since Azure had only just begun to really build up muscles. He was always tall but more slender and did have a very nice feminine build, to begin with. However now that was all changing and Azure was desperate to change his mindset as well, getting up as Gramps began to storm over, questioning Azure about the state of his healing. Yet, before anything else, the creatures had turned on Gramps with his back turned and while Gramps would more than take the hit, Azure's eyes widen, and quickly ran towards Gramps, shoving the older, and stronger, male out of the way, taking another swipe from the unknown creature to Azure. This time Azure would just grab the arm, gritting his teeth as he held on as he attempted to be shooked off.
"AZURE! LET'S GO RIGHT NOW! GO TO THE INFIRMARY!" Gramps would yell, going to attempt to turn off the training system. It was at this point Azure did let go, running up the large arm of the create, and soon, the two skulls would collide, a loud thud that echoed throughout the room as the two would fall. Moments later, the creature disappeared and then the room would fizzle back to normal.
There was silence for a few moments as Azure was left panting on the floor the next thing Azure knew, he was being dragged along the floor by a yelling Gramps, telling him to stay in bed and rest. Azure would simply smile and laugh a little.
"Sorry, Gramps. Guess I pushed myself a little at the end. I just....thought you would get hurt. I just wanted to be strong enough, for you, and the crew. Even if I can't dodge or hit, I know I can take hits better than other people. So I can at least train my body how to be a shield for other people at the very least." Azure said as he was practically thrown into a bed. There was a moment of silence between them before Gramps would sit down.
"Azure, my child. You're already strong enough. You don't need to prove yourself to anyone here nor do you need to sacrifice your own body. We are all PROUD to call you our son, our brother. Everyone here wants to make sure you're safe too and throwing yourself in the way isn't the way to help people. Staying alive and safe is." Gramps said softly, meeting Azure's eyes, and seeing his new grandson begin to tear up. "I don't yell at you because I'm mad, I yell at you because it's the only thing that gets through your thick skull and, because I don't want you to get hurt. So, rest up, and once you're more healed, we will continue but, you're already more than enough...your parents would be proud."
With that last line, Azure would begin to sob loudly, being pulled into a tight hug by Gramps until the young boy would eventually, fall asleep.

Azure would begin to follow Jin towards the shipwreck as he remembered that moment, a tear escaping and he quickly wiped it away and take a few long strides so he would be only a step behind Jin, slinging his Warhammer back over his good shoulder, staring at Jin as a soft sigh escaped his lips. If Gramps knew what he had done to stop the ship, he would have gotten an earful from Gramps as well, not just Red. Thankfully Jin hasn't yet but he was probably just used to Azure being this way. Since Azure came out as trans, he has been more and more reckless, to prove his own strength. Whether it's for other people or himself, Azure honestly couldn't say for sure. Maybe it was mostly for himself really, to be this, strong masculine figure, the cool strong type that can just wipe the blood off his nose and still show a strong face, unlike Azure now. More like Jin, able to hold it all in, though at the same time, that didn't sound okay either.

"Hey Jin...are you...okay? You can tell me if you're not, you're my brother."

The moment Lindsey saw Red she could tell wasn't right. His whole demeanor was off. The way he spoke the attitude he gave off something was defintly wrong. Lindsey watched him walk out of the room and gave annoyed huff when he was gone.

"What's up his ass? I haven't done anything to annoy him.....yet."

Though even then he never acted like that. Lindsey left the room and started to make her way to her bed room. Last night she had started working on a special project. It was a weapon for one of crew mates. They didn't know about it. It was going to be a surprise. She thought they could use it after everything that happened. She smiled to herself thinking about it. She wasn't one to be just giving out gifts usually she just tell them to ask and she do it. But she mostly just made things for herself. Once she made it to her room she reached out to open the door but then paused when she heard Red's voice over the intercom. When he was done she thought for moment. Did she really want to be stuck on the ship again? The Island from she could tell looked beautiful and she didn't get to explore or have any fun on the last island. Also she was quite curious to know what was going on with Red. Plus Jin never said she had to stay on the ship.......Lindsey made a smirkish grin.

"There is no way I'm missing any of the fun this time."

Lindsey opened her door and ran into her room and grabbed her machine gun, Pow Pow, swung it across her shoulder, then put a gun holster belt on and stuck in one of her pistil's then headed up on deck. Once she made it on deck. Lindsey looked over and took notice of Kitty Jin, Azure and Maria. Her eyes then moved over to Red and suddenly she had a urge to pounce. A urge wish she always follows through on. Luckily she hadn't been noticed by him yet. Lindsey quietly made her way off the ship and quietly crept up behind Red. When Maria asked who was all coming. Lindsey jumped on to Red's back wrapping her arms around his neck and then yelled out,

"I am! Hehe though Fancy Pants here seems to be in a bad mood. Hope your not going spoil the trip."

Lindsey said to Red. She then jumped off and walked over to Maria to get a better look at her gun. Lindsey crossed her arms as she studied it.

"Have you tested this on Azure yet?"

Fiona Shreka
The Scholar

A random storage room in the ship

A bird kept caged for a long time would eventually develop a knack for escaping. Thus, one might find it strange to find a refined scholar in a small room of towering barrels and crates, yet it was where she felt most familiar and free in the ship's entirety. It reminded her of the relief she'd feel whenever she'd manage to sneak from the choking constraints of the balls and parties that her parents so loved to take her. In the absence of probing gazes and disquieting chatters, Fiona found refuge to do as she pleased.

"Come on..." A strained grumble slipped out of frowning lips as the said maiden stood atop a stack of crates, both hands stretched out a window as if she was offering the phone she held to the sky. Fiona's eyes focused on the signal symbol at the edge of the screen, her right brow twitching every time it danced between a single bar to none. "Please, I must call her...!" She exclaimed beneath her breath as she finally resorted to standing on the tip of her toes, braving the fact that a slight imbalance would cause her to suffer a few feet fall.

Nevertheless, her sacrifice appeared to be paying off when the pesky bar stayed still, and the device finally connected to the internet. "Finally!" Fiona squealed with joy as her finger pressed the icon of her twin soul - a maiden with fiery hair and a warm smile. Marites Quicktongue was akin to a rising sun during a gloomy day; she'd never fail to make her feel better. So, imagine Fiona's delight when the call came through, and the first few seconds of their unique ringtone reached her ears.

"If you're looking for a signal, I think... you might have better chances above deck."

Fiona released a short shriek as an unexpected voice mixed with the sound, causing her to hastily tap the cancel button which subsequently led to her losing her balance. Once her soles stabilized flat on the ground, she turned to look at the door only to find the light-footed doctor gone. She anxiously hopped off the crates and walked towards the door, intending to lock it but was interrupted when the same physician promptly popped back in. This time, however, he brought a request.

"Oh, Miss Fiona. Can I ask you for a favor? I think you would be a big help with... this particular problem."

The scholar slightly jumped in place before rapidly blinking at the doctor's face. Nevertheless, her fright has been easily overtaken by delight once her mind processed whatever Abe had just said. He thought that she would be a big help with a certain issue! Pink dusted her cheeks as they rose alongside the big smile forming on her lips. With glimmering eyes, Fiona took Abe's hands and aggressively nodded her head. "Of course, of course, my pleasure!" Perhaps it was too enthusiastic for her own good, but sir Abe was a bonafide man of both science and adventure. Fiona firmly believed that she has plenty to learn from him. Hence, hearing that he was in need of her help alleviated her mood beyond the skies. An opportunity such as this was rare to come by, and she has zero intention of wasting it. "What is it? I promise I'll do my best!"

Marie Caldewell

|Location: S.S. Infinity Exterior

Marie was grinning widely as she noticed Lindsey approaching. The rail gun strangely still being pointed over towards Jin who was some distance away. Sheer accidental naturally as it wasn't her intention to have it still remaining in such a position. The lifted her hand up feeling the weight of the rain gun slowly dropping her aim a bit as she tapped her chin. Tested it on Azure? The idea left her puzzled a bit as she suddenly realized what she meant. Marie's hand lifting the rifle back up pointing in the rough direction of Jin once more as she shook her head. The girl nodding her head a little bit before shaking it once more.

"Oh oh sorry, No no no! No tests yet. It was still being worked on till recently. Well... think so might still have a issue or three. Just got dis' here gen'rator all set up to power it. So hard tah' power a magnetic rail system, particularly giving it all the umph to make it somewhat match the non-mobile versions. Still, think i finally got it down and ready to test. If my mathematical calculations I did on a the back of Hush's door were correct, I think it should have enough kick to bust through several concrete walls without even losing too much force! Think I got it all balanced out too so it should be for the most part power self sustainin' with this pack on me! Well... I plan to make it a lil less clunky... but still more tinkerin' and testin' and all that!"

She spoke nodding her head. The engineer pausing glancing up as she nodded again as she seemed to snap back to the comment about Azure and what she had been thinking before. It wasn't hard to tell Marie was particularly excited right now. She rarely got the chance to test out new things of this particular caliber. As good as the ship was as avoiding sustaining damage with their training area, her invention was perhaps a bit too much with its sheer penetrating force given it was working up to the numbers she had figured out in her head and etched into Hush's wooden door much earlier on before she had come back.

"Ooo! It was Azure who was the one wanting to be the test dummy! I thought it as Jin! That makes sense! Though Jin does seem to ask for it a lot too... I think? Either way I gotcha now! But yes... the answer was no... though... I could probably easily snipe em from here given the umph of baby's got..." She spoke lifting it up as to point it Jin's way again despite what she had just said. The pack hissing a bit as it seemed as if she was powering it up. It started to settle down as she lowered it down. The girl resting the weapon down as she shook her head a bit.

"No no, best ta' save it for on the field and such!" She nodded to herself glancing over at Lindsey staring at her Machine gun. The girl grinning widely staring at it. Come to think about it, she never really had the chance to see her make use of it. Marie was always lurking in the vents and as such she would end up stumbling into people's belongings in their rooms. A simple little peek, or borrowing some component here and there. For the most part she left Lindsey's assortment of weaponry alone. She was an admire of other people's work, not one for touching it without permission. She had some ethics, even if those ethics did involve her sneaking in through the vents of peoples room to get things she might need... or scribble on their door lacking paper to write on.

"Ooo! I forgot you had that! I always wanted to see how it goes firin' off on targets, movin' and otherwise! This will be fun trip out! Ooo oooo! Red-head!" She shouted out his name already being shortened to Red made it that much harder for her to throw together a cute nick name. Naturally she had to over complicate things.

"Think we will get plenty of targets out there? If not, can we make some up?"

Timothy Drokblood
Half-Orc Alchemist

Timothy leaned back, eyes glued to the vial in front of him. The purple mixture swirled, a light pink vapor boiling out of it. Leaning forward, he tweaked the heat. Opening another drawer, he grabbed a flask of a deep crimson liquid and a small clay pot. Opening up the clay pot, a deep flowery fragrance puffed from it. He smiled as he took a deep breath, savoring the scent of the floral herb. Grabbing a spoon and a scale he measured 3/5ths of a gram and carefully funneled the herb into the purple liquid. The vapor turned a darker pinkish hue and the liquid started to lighten up. He stirred the liquid and then carefully measured out a quarter ounce of the deep crimson liquid. Standing up he went over to the sink and grabbed the bowl of ice water he prepared earlier. Putting next to the vial he gloved his left hand and carefully picked up the liquid. Pouring in the quarter ounce of fluid he quickly corked the vial and shook it. It started turning a bright pink color. After vigorous shaking for three minutes, he dipped it into the ice water for five minutes. The liquid suddenly developed a silvery glittery appearance. He uncorked the vial and a fruity herbal scent wafted out. It was almost sickening. He poured it into a crystal jar and then corked and sealed it with wax. He put it into the rack with the rest of the vials just like it.

Timothy frowned concernedly. They were going to look for the old man finally. He was able-bodied, and he hadn't been off the ship for a while. Even when in port, he had someone else gather the herbs and substances for his alchemy. He sat down and rubbed his eyes. He grabbed his space satchel. It was a present from the old man for carrying his potions and herbs and such, and its worn leather was well cared for. Standing in front of his potion racks, he pondered what to bring. Grabbing thirty of his healing potions, several of his liquid smoke bombs, sachets of blinding powders, some vials of highly corrosive acid, and then of course his collection of poisons he always brings with him. Attaching the satchel to his belt he walked into his sleeping quarters. He tugged off his alchemy clothes and put on a clean set of clothes, including a leather jacket reinforced with light metals. He picked up his weapon belt and put it on his waist. Grabbing his axe he slipped it into its loop and then grabbed his hunting knife and slipped it into his boot as he put his boots on. He grabbed some black ribbon and tied his grey-streaked hair into a ponytail. Looking into the full-body mirror he couldn't help but smile. He remembered when he was young and flaunted around taverns. He was past those days. He still had the vitality of his youth, even though he has visibly aged. He just acted old because people don't ask you to do insane tasks when you do. But the old man, he wouldn't give two shits if he was retired, if he wanted something done, he'd enlist the people right for the job, and if it included this old half-orc, Timothy was sure to get the job done no matter what was included.

Walking up on the deck, he stretched as he walked towards the gangplank, where he saw Red, Lindsey, and Marie. He walked towards them, and looked out at the ocean. It was a beautiful sight, the reason for him staying on board. Other than the fact he had his private laboratory where he could do anything he desired.

"Greeting Red," he smiled. "Lindsey, Marie. The other scouting team must have been really beaten up for only us to be out. Who else is coming other than the young cat?"

Red forced himself to hold back an irritated sigh, Jin's order to direct his efforts on the massive tree in the distance made his shoulders tense for a moment. A heavy frown came to his face as he glanced at the target of his mission, the abnormal site may have been slightly interesting, but there was a slight prickle of annoyance that ran down his spine. A part of him wished to argue with Jin, pushing for the scouting party to follow him to the wreckage to search for their lost captain, but Red was never one to question or deny the orders given to him by his superiors. Besides, in his current state of mind, he lacked the energy to go against Jin. Red would give a firm nod before looking back to Jin. "Very well, once the group has been assembled, we will make our way to the tree," he replied before resting his hand atop his sheathed sword, looking between both Azure and Jin before the two of them began to make their way to the crash site, Red's gaze trailing up to the distant trail of smoke hanging in the air. A slight buzz of concern vibrated in his chest, wanting to wish his crewmates luck in their search, but remained silent as he watched them depart. A long sigh escaped him, reminding himself to trust the two of them to handle themselves.

A familiar voice brought him out of his thoughts as he glanced over to see Marie as she called out to Azure and Jin, wishing them luck in Red's place. He arched a brow as he noticed the excited buzz that seemed to hang over her before glancing down at the impressive "tool" that he could only imagine was created by her own hands. As Marie met his gaze and questioned him a small breath escaped him as he looked off toward the giant tree that stretched into the sky. "We will need a few more hands before we go. Our point of interest is the massive tree in the middle of the forest," he said nodding his head toward the tree. "As for when you are able to test fire your, 'new toy', well let's pray you'll have the chance soon," he answered, his tone sharp towards the end. Red wouldn't openly admit it, but he was hoping this island would give him an excuse to swing his sword and fire his gun. It was a shameful urge, wanting to spill blood because of his own frustration, but it was still a habit Red has yet to fully calm.

Before Red could say anything else though, he was abruptly interrupted a sudden from latched onto his back and wrapping a pair of arms around his neck. "GAH! Bloody britches!" Red choked out in an all too familiar voice and announced themselves. A slight growl escaped Red as he stumbled a few steps before Lindsey finally detached herself from his back. Rubbing his neck and standing a bit taller Red closed his eyes and took a long, deep breath, his irritation growing by the second. Lindsey's comments about him being a "Fancy Pants" and her laid-back attitude towards the mission before them didn't help. "Ms. Tate, must you act so childishly before every mission we go on?" he questioned, his complaint sharp and annoyed as he pressed down parts of his coat she had messed up. "And I am not a Fancy Pants, I simply refuse to subject myself to lesser forms of clothing," he muttered, his gaze flicking away from her as he hid his pouting frown. He knew that someday this woman would be the death of him, but for now, he held back the urge to toss her into the ocean.

For now, he would direct his attention to Marie as she began to answer Lindsey's question, though silently Red pitied Azure after hearing the two of them planned to use him for target practice. After he successfully fixed his clothing, his annoyance would be momentarily calmed and replaced with interest as Marie began to speak about her invention. His eyes would fall onto the invention itself with a curious glint in his eye. Say what you will about her, but Marie can create some fascinating, yet frightening inventions. Red's interest in the new weapon would be squashed however as Marie spoke up to him, her little "Red-head" name bringing another heavy frown to his face before pinching the bridge of his nose, his irritation once again returning.

As she questioned him about having any targets on their mission Red pursed his lips and looked to the forest. "That I am unsure of Ms. Caldewell, I, like yourself, have never been to this island before. I have no knowledge of what lies in wait here for us," he answered before looking back at her and giving a quick shrug. "But, if we come across no enemies for you to shoot at, then perhaps you can settle for a few trees or stumps," he said, a brief ghost of a smirk flashing across his expression before quickly snapping back into a small frown. With a slow sigh, he fully turned to the two before pausing to see Timothy walking down the ramps to join them. Red gave a slight bow of his head as Timothy gave his greeting to them. His gaze would become hardened slightly as he mentioned the party from before and briefly recalled Hush's current condition. Red would glance away for a moment before giving a slow nod. "Yes, they were quite exhausted after their venture, so we will have to do for now," he said before clearing his throat and standing a bit taller, wiping all traces of emotion from his expression.

"Whatever the case, it is a pleasure to have your company Mr. Drokblood. Your experience is welcomed," he said before taking in the part formed. With a slow breath, Red stood before the assembled party and folded his hands behind his back. "Now, our task is clear. While Mr. Aethor and Mr. Hitch move toward the crash site where our lost captain is suspected of being, we will move deeper into the forest. Our goal," he paused and pointed toward the massive tree springing out of the forest. "Once we reach the tree we will do a proper sweep of the area, search for any anomalies and record what we find. If we find nothing of interest we are to expand our search further into the forest, more specifically in the direction of the crash site, and aid in the search for our captain," he explained before resting his wounded hand atop his sword. "We will move as a group. Mr. Drokblood takes up position on the right, Ms. Tate takes up the left, and Ms. Caldewell takes up the rear. I will take up the front," he declared before taking a slow breath and meeting the gazes of the three before him. "Our captain may still be missing on this island, but we must leave the task of finding him to the others for now. Let us be done with this and aid them afterward," with a glance up to the sky Red knew it was time to head out. With a roll of his shoulders and the draw of his blade, Red turned to the forest edge and began walking toward the direction of their goal. "Come now, let us not waste any more time!"

With Azure's response to Jin's demand that he promises to leave if things got out of hand when they reached the bounty hunter ship wreckage, all he could do was nod and accept the vocal response and hope that Azure would keep his word. Knowing well enough by this point Azure's nature with how caring he was about the ship, and practically the entirety of the crew, it was possible that he wouldn't keep that promise, but at the very least, he had to try and make the male vocalize the promise. It wasn't like Jin did not understand where Azure was coming from, if he were in his shoes, he most likely would've broken the promise as well, even if it meant risking his life in the process, but he was still young and had a dream he was looking forward to one day achieving while Jin's only goal in life was to eventually find his sisters and protect what he had left as a family more than anything else.

Finally turning his back once again to the Infinity, Jin proceeded to head off into the forest, nonchalantly waving his arm in acknowledging manner when Marie's voice spoke up beside Red. There wasn't much of a need to state the obvious to her question on whether or not Azure and himself were 'heading out' considering what could be seen, instead the wave of his arm was moreover an acknowledgment that he had heard her and that he was not attempting to ignore her.

Azure would do his best to main eye contact with Jin when he had promised but the chance he got to look away without looking to suspicious but it was hard. Did Azure want to lie to Jin? No, but in Azure's mind, this was the best thing to do for both of them. He would glance back to the Infinity and those who were on deck before beginning to follow Jin into the unknown territory.
The forest around then was surprisingly lush, green than usual even, Azure looked around, keeping his eyes peeled for unwanted surprises, whatever they may be. Maybe they could hunt something for a meal later, if and when they get Gramps back at least. Azure would pull out his phone to maybe scroll through some media but saw there was absolutely no signal and sighed. That sucks, he thought before shoving his phone back into his pocket.

It was a surprisingly quick walk for the two. No much happening on their walk as the smell of burnt wood from the crash would begin fill Azure's nostrils, meaning they must be close. It only took maybe 20 minutes from the ship, if either one of them would run, it was likely to take even shorter, especially for Azure and his longer legs. Soon before the two was 2 ships that have dented the earth as pieces of wood stuck out in places, much of both ship were blackened from the fire from when they took down the ship. There seemed to be no one there, everyone who might be on the ship was seemingly gone but hopefully, dead or at the very least injured. The haunting silence of no hunters began to worry Azure as he would stop in front of one of the hunter's ships and looked to Jin.

"Should I check one and you check the other?"

It was a beautiful day the grass was lush and green the flowers were bright and colorful. The sun shined brightly but it wasn't too hot, it was just right. Usually on such a perfect day as this Honeyrose would be enjoying her day by the waterfall maybe with a couple of animals and or friends. But no instead she found herself running as fast as her legs could take her. She ducked and dodged trees and branches as she ran. She glanced back behind her to see the hunters chasing after her and yelling for her to stop. Throwing out threats if she didn't obey and listen. Honeyrose was in a frantic state she wasn't even sure where she was going she just knew she had to run. Actually, she knew this island like the back of her hand but in her frantic state, she wasn't really paying attention or thinking straight. Tears went down her face as she ran. She had never been so scared in her life. She felt like a coward running away and leaving the rest behind but she saw her chance and she took it. The old man said they would be looking for him. They had to be here by now right or on their way? "Where the heck am I?", Honeyrose said to herself.

Suddenly she found herself on the beach in front of two crashed ships. She quickly looked around trying to decide what to do. But before she even begin to think the hunters ran out of the forest and grabbed her. She soon found herself on the ground with a rope tied around her so she couldn't move her arms and legs.
"You won't be getting away this time." One of the hunters said as he kicked her in the side. "Ah!" Honeyrose yelled out. She didn't bother to struggle there was no way she was escaping this time. The hunters then suddenly noticed Jin and Azure. "Hey! Where'd you guys come from?!"

While the walk with Azure was mostly a quiet one, Jin seemed to be perfectly content with not saying much as he kept his focus on their surroundings; aside from the possibility that there were some surviving bounty hunters lurking throughout the forest, the island was still completely unknown to the duo, there was no telling what sort of predators were stalking them at this very moment. Eventually, once the two had finally reached their destination, the destruction before them was quite widespread, chunks of metal and wood were lodged into the ground and nearby trees absolutely everywhere, and patches of fire still lingered here and there. At the same time, the main part of one of the ships was practically buried in the ground as the second one was several feet away from the first. At first glance, there appeared to be no signs of life around although neither were there any corpses so that either meant the bodies were still on the ship itself, predators had come and taken them away or the worse possible case was that the hunters were still alive.

As Azure was the first to approach one of the large destroyed ships, Jin kept his distance only to turn his gaze toward their surroundings to see if he could find something/anything that would give them a clue as to where their Captain was. When Azure had questioned him on a possible next action to take, Jin returned his attention back to him before giving a single nod.
"Yes, that will probably be best. If you find anything that might tell us where Gramps is, call me immediately. Do not engage into batt--" Suddenly being interrupted in the midst of his response by the sounds of rustling from the treelines, Jin brought his hand immediately to the hilt of his sheathed blade, expecting a wild beast to come barging out of the woods only to be faced with a decently large group of the bounty hunters binding and tieing up a rather strange looking female. As one of the hunters questioned duo, Jin narrowed his gaze down toward the female for a few moments before returning his attention to the hunters.

"What have you done to our Captain?!" Rather than answering the hunter's question, Jin instead demanded an answer to his own question instead. The hunter that had questioned the duo was quick to remember the faces of Jin and Azure at that moment of mentioning a 'Captain' before tugging Honeyrose up to her feet. "Heh, wouldn't you like to know?... You guys deal with them. I'm taking this one back to the village. The Cap'n will be back soon and she'll be furious if she finds out we nearly lost one of them." Immediately from there, the hunter attempted to forcibly drag Honeyrose from her position to pull her back into the woods, meanwhile, the rest of the hunters prepared to attack both Jin and Azure, believing they stood a better chance this time since the rest of the crew wasn't around like they were the first time they did battle.

It was only mere moments from about to begin a search to see the hunters. Hearing JIn question the hunters, Azure's head snapped towards them, standing up straighter so he would tower over everyone and gently swing his war hammer around so it was now resting on the ground. A decent size of hunters would take a few steps forward as the one who took the strange girl would back off into the forest. He must know where Gramps was. He looked at Jin for a moment, reading his face then took a deep breath.

โ€œJin, go after him. I got things handled here.โ€ He said softly, swinging his Warhammer up again. Back on the ship, Azure wasnโ€™t really fighting, in fact, he rarely does as the helmsman, the ship was always one of his top priorities but, there was a reason he had such a high bounty. Despite lacking much technical ability of fighting, Azure makes up for pure raw strength instead. The hunters had their weapons ready and as one would attempt to shoot at them, Azure had with one hand, swung up his hammer above his head, and brought it down on the ground, the earth trembling and cracking at the impact, causing the hunters to be for a moment, distracted, giving Azure enough time to bring up his war hammer, swinging horizontally as it began the glue with the blue hue of the Eternum crystal as a strong slash of wind formed, knocking over a few hunters in the center, hopefully giving Jin just enough time to run through and go after the other.

Since Azure wasnโ€™t fighting on the ship, this immense strength, though not unknown by the hunters, was still shocking to the group of men, as they have begun to realize what they are really in for and a majority would charge at Azure, only 3 running at Jin.

โ€œFind Gramps Jin!โ€ He said, quickly ignoring the hunters who were after him and intercepting the one who was going after Jin, slamming his hammer down in front, stopping the two in their tracks. Azure then picked up his hammer, a small mischievous grin forming on his face, swimming his hammer into a wide arc, knocking back the hunters that were coming at him back with an incredible gust of wind. For the hunters, it was important for them to note that Azure hadnโ€™t even hit one of them with the hammer, and potentially fear such an outcome seeing the dents in the ground left not only but the larger-than-life hammer but also by Azureโ€™s own feet as he occasionally moved. โ€œShit captain is going to be pissed if we left these two beat us like this.โ€ one said to the other, with only soft mumbles of agreement as Azure began to efficiently bat people out of the way, most of them unable to get close to him due to the reach of the Warhammer on top of Azure longer than average arm length.

While it was no doubt that the hunters were clearly underestimating the two, there was no doubt if both of them committed to this battle, then the unknown female would be lost to them as well as any knowledge about what was going on along with the knowledge of where their Captain might've been. Cursing under his breath as to what they could do to assist the stranger as well as deal with the hunters at once, it wasn't until Azure spoke up to tell Jin to go after the kidnapped female while he had dealt with those still in the area.
Turning his attention over toward the younger crewmate, Jin's eyes widened at the thought that Azure would suggest such a thing. Before he could so much as respond, Azure had swung his large Warhammer causing a gust of air and dust to push back the hunters and temporarily disorientate them. Seeing his opportunity, Jin sprinted through the risen dust only to turn his head over his shoulder during the run to shout back towards his crewmate.
"Don't you die on me, Azure! Once you deal with them, go find Red! Get him and whoever he's with to check out the wreckage!" With that said, he chased after the hunter that kidnapped the stranger into the forest.

Throughout the chase, Jin took notice of how the female struggled to get out of the hunter's grasp through her consistent squirming to no avail. It wasn't until a sudden shout of an agitated and clearly pained male did the hunter finally drop the female stranger to the forest floor only to find that she had ended up biting the male.
"You little brat! That hurt!" The moment the hunter had dropped her, he was prepared to kick her only to be halted when Jin had finally caught up to the two. Unlike the hunter, Jin showed no signs of being out of breath and instead was still completely calm. "I wouldn't do that if I were you.." With Jin speaking up his threat, the hunter would only tilt his head with his devilish smirk before arching a brow at the sight of how Jin was alone. "Oh? What? Did you abandon your crewmate? Are you sure that kid's going to be okay without you? I mean, two against all of my men was going to be tough anyway, but leaving only one of your crewmates to deal with all my men? HAH, you must be some kind of idiot like that Cap'n of yours!" By the time the hunter had finished his questioning mock, he had burst into a fit of laughter while Jin's grip around the hilt of his weapon tightened further.

Knowing well enough that Azure had the capability of taking care of himself as well as any of the rest of the crew was one matter, but the fact that this piece of trash was talking ill about their Captain right before his very own eyes was absolutely unacceptable. Within seconds, the sound of a low hiss began to fill the air around the trio as Jin unsheathed his weapon. Every inch of the blade that left its sheath began to give off a white mist-like substance til the blade was completely drawn. The air around the blade itself continued to give off a cold mist-like air causing the hunter to stare in a questionable manner at the weapon. Knowing well enough that he wouldn't be able to escape with the strange female without having to deal with Jin first, the hunter was the first to charge forward into a full-on strike with a large black scimitar that was no doubt enhanced with an Eternum Crystal regarding its black coloring.

However, no matter what the weapon was, the hunter's ability to wield a weapon with any form of skill was clearly outmatched by Jin's own skill. As the hunter approached and raised his weapon into the air to swing downwards, Jin was quick to slash forward once, immediately slicing off both the arms of the hunter, although rather than immediately begin bleeding the wounds immediately froze over due to Jin's sword's ability. The ice that had formed around the stumps that were the hunter's arm however did not stop there and began to spread across the rest of the male's body little by little as long as the blade was unsheathed. Even with the dying screams of the hunter as he was frozen over, Jin would approach the tied-up female only to cut the restraints off of her during every moment of the hunter's screaming until it was finally silenced only leaving a massive block of ice that the hunter was trapped in.

Finally sheathing his weapon, the mist that had been emitting from the sheath as well as the blade itself had finally halted as he extended an arm out to the stranger in a helping manner. "Are you alright?"

Honeyrose looked at the cat ear man with unsure eyes. This had to be him right? When they first appeared the tall muscular one stuck out to her. She instantly remembered a description Gramps gave of him. What was his name? Azure? That sounded right then this one had cat ears and a tail which she assumed was Jin. Such an odd thing to see a person with animal features. She felt silly hesitating considering he just saved her and all. But what if she was wrong and they weren't who she thought they were? There was also the fact that she had just seen what Jin did to the hunter...which was kind of terrifying. She finally took his hand and stood up. "I'll be fine." She said suddenly speaking but there was clearly nervousness in her voice. She took a step back from him. At least if he suddenly try to attack her she wouldn't be right up by him. "Um.." She started fiddling with her dress, nervously. "Would....your name happen to be Jin?...and your friend is he Azure?"

As Jin ran off into the forest Azure would have given a small nod to the stand-in captain and would have made sure to stand in the path between Jin and any hunter that was trying to chase after him, with large wide swings from his war hammer pushing the hunters back. It was all going fine until one pulled out a gun and would shoot at Azure but, the idiot that Azure was, he took the shots โ€˜like a manโ€™ and moments later that same hunter was flying through the air, limp, and most likely dead after impact from the hammer. A few minutes would pass by as hunters would begin to fly through the air and leaving only one of them left, quivering where he stood, and just before Azure was going to swing his hammer, he stopped. Maybe having one alive was a good thing after all.

โ€œYou. You better not move, Iโ€™m going to need your help.โ€ Azure said, thinking for a moment before pulling out his phone. Thatโ€™s when he would simply text the group chat, hoping one of the people who had a phone was with Red. โ€˜Me and Jin ran into hunters, most r taken care of but a few there are still plenty around, keep an eye out. Any1 with Red, let him know 2 take the scouting party 2 the ship crash site.โ€™

With the text sent, Azure would look in the last direction Jin went toward before grabbing the one Hunter he had kept alive, pulling him up to his own face by the collar of the hunter's shirt. โ€œWhere did they go?โ€ Azure growled. โ€œAnd what did you guys do to Gramps?โ€ The hunter would spit in Azureโ€™s face, fear gleaming in his eyes but held strong nonetheless. โ€œLike hell Iโ€™ll tell scum like you. Iโ€™d rather die.โ€

โ€œFine by me.โ€
In a moment, Azure's face darkened as in moments he snapped the neck of the Hunter with a loud unsettling crack of the bones. The now motionless body was dropped to the ground with a soft thump, left for Red and the others to see if they came in their direction and would look up at the sky, spotting the hard-to-miss giant tree that the stranger girl and Jin and the one hunter ran off toward. Swinging the war hammer back over his shoulder, feeling the soreness being hit him, then started to head in the direction of the giant tree, hopefully running into the other two.

Aftering helping the female stranger up to her feet and having her reply to his concerns for her well-being, Jin had replied with nothing more than a nod of his head. While considering the situation they were in, normally Jin would question the female as to who she was along with other questions such as why the hunters were after her and so on, however, after confirming that she would be alright, Jin turned toward the direction where he had run from and wondered for Azure's situation. After all, he left his crewmate alone against a larger number of the hunters, even if Jin knew well enough that Azure could handle himself, it did not change the fact that Jin was still worried for the safety of Azure; after all, with as long as he had known him, by this point, Azure was practically a little brother to him.

Just as he had taken a single step towards the direction where he had left Azure, the sudden question that the female brought up caused Jin to freeze before turning his attention immediately to face the woman. "How do you know our names?!" With utter shock in his voice and eyes widened, he rapidly approached the female simply to grab her shoulders and fully make eye contact with her. "Who are you?! What do you know?!" Question, after question was asked, barely giving the female time to answer as the expression on Jin's face by this point, had changed from its once stoic expression to one of panic and desperation.

While seated upon the grass with his back leaning against one of the many trees at the park, a young male by the name of Xiang Irohart had been snoozing the day away as he had both his arms behind his head. Snoring silently even with his seemingly broken sheathed sword resting beside him against the tree as well, anyone that would've taken a look at him would assume that Xiang was the laziest of all the Paladins and that probably wasn't exactly far off from the truth either. The day was just like any other, uneventful, while the Archbishop had been preaching within the Grand Hall of the Cathedral for all those who came to the Church today, many of the Paladins had gathered to defend the area from any and all forms of threats, whether it be terrorists, the rebellion, or even just protesters.

Xiang's duties did not differ that much from the other Paladins other than the fact that he was supposed to be within the Grand Hall and be near the Archbishop while he gave his preaches, next to his fellow Paladin Eloise. Unfortunately, Xiang had different plans for the day and instead of committing to his duties, he preferred to simply take a nap. What were the chances that someone would be foolish enough to attack the Grand Cathderal during such a large event, not to mention with the amount of security that was surrounding the area, surely he could take a decently long enough nap that no one would even notice if he was around or not.

Minutes passed and as though it were directly on cue as the sound of the Cathedral's rung throughout the Capital City, Xiang's foot was suddenly kicked to force him awake. Jolting forward slightly, the male would rub the sleep from his eyes as he brought his sapphire hues up to find that it had been one of his fellow Paladins, dressed in the usual armor that most Paladins wore, he stared down towards Xiang almost as though he were giving a disgusted look from under his helmet. "Xiang! Get up you lazy bum! You're dishonoring the name of the Paladins by just lazing around like this! Get back into the Cathedral and get stand guard! Look at Eloise, she's truly the shining example of the best of us, while you...I swear, you are the worse of all of us! You should try and be more like her, I don't understand what the Archbishop saw in you to make you one of his personal guards..seriously." As the fellow Paladin attempted to berate Xiang, instead of paying much attention, Xiang simply gave a rather bored-like expression on his face only to pick at his ears before flicking away some earwax only to proceed to do the same right after to his nose and flick away a booger.

"Hey! Are you listening Xiang?!" With the now annoyed Paladin, Xiang only continued to stare with a continued blank expression before raising his eyebrows to the following question. "Huh? Oh- uhhh, yeah. Uhh...something about...honor or something like that right? Hey, do you know if that new shurma place on Main Street, is any good? Hmn, I'm going to go take a look...maybe Eloise or the old man might want some." Changing the subject altogether, before the fellow Paladin could even so much as a reply, Xiang had already helped himself up, latching his broken weapon to his belt before heading off into the interior of the Grand Hall of the Cathedral. Excusing himself through the sea of crowds, he proceeded to head over towards Eloise's guarding post that was near the front of the Grand Hall, near where the Archbishop had been giving his prayers and preaching speech. Leaning over towards her side, he whispered under his breath to attempt not to interrupt the Archbishop, all while attempting to make it look like he was standing guard as he was supposed to anyway. "Heeyy..Eloise, do you want a shurma? I'm going to head to that new place on Main Street...maybe even surprise the old fart with one too.."

He shouldn't be all too shocked by the amount of enthusiasm Fiona put into everything she did. However, for a singular moment as her hands grasped his, he felt his entire body lock up before forcing himself to relax, giving Fiona a smile of gratitude at her agreement while hoping his reaction to it would go unnoticed. Fiona had an absurd amount of faith in him despite what his first impression of her wasโ€” a thief, not a doctor. Yet she easily fell into the trick of him being a trained professional and he would have choked up if he was any less dedicated to this game of pretend he played.

"During our island exploration, we... happened upon a, uh, a research facility of some sort? I took as much of the research notes I could find so I could, you know, read over it when... when we got back." Abraham started, his eyes beginning to dart from looking at her to the storage room around them. "I haven't had a chance to look through them because..." He gestured towards his arm and then towards the hallway. It was no secret that the group wasn't in the best condition despite his best efforts. If he had been a bit more prepared... but he couldn't dwell on that. It just showed what he could do next time. Don't dwell. Keep moving forward.

He cleared his throat, gaze pulling towards their conjoined hands, and tugged on his hands to reclaim them from her. "I was hoping you could help me with them. They're... not as legible as I want them to be. Probably spent years in that underground facility so it's not like, they're not in the best condition. It'll be a little hard." A little was an understatement. He barely got to skim them when he was going through the facility but even at that point, he understood that it might as well be a lost cause to try and interpret them. However, that didn't mean he shouldn't even make an attempt to do so. He couldn't understand what was happening in that facility but it reeked of dangerโ€” of crazed scientists trying to achieve something by all means possible.

"I need to go grab some food then we can start. Though, the infirmary is full..." He muttered, knowing that there was more than one occupant there and he wasn't sure how much progress he would be able to do in such an environment. Hush was fine in terms of noise level and distraction, it was the matter of anyone else who decided to visit her. "Would you have any preference of where we can... go through the research?"

Then a pause as both of their phones buzzed with a message. Curiously he opened the message. It was from Azure and it was them stating that the hunters were still around and for Red's scouting party to head to the crash site. It didn't seem like there was any sort of emergency to worry about so he closed his phone and slid it back into his pocket. That was the moment his eyes widened and he looked back at Fiona."Oh, weren't you busy? I'm sorry we can postpone it for later. Or are you done with your phone call?"
