Tell me a story.
In this century, and moment, of mania,
Tell me a story.
Make it a story of great distances, and starlight.
The name of the story will be Time,
But you must not pronounce its name.
Tell me a story of deep delight.
- Robert Penn Warren, 1905-1989
The date is July 8th, 2044. A regular day in the civilization they call Hell City. The weather is slightly stormy and, as of now, eight in the morning, it is raining lightly. Some people are still fast asleep, others have been awake for a long time, and quite a few more are just waking up. Lucifer's reign continues, as it has for the past two years, and many people are living their day-to day lives. One may ask why a rebellion hasn't stirred yet; the answer is that the rebellion is simply waiting for the right time to pounce upon us. Last night, 761 people lost their lives; The Grim Reaper is likely busy, attempting to gather as many souls as she can. After all, she has already failed twice, despite it having been early in her career, so it was expected.
Characters from previous storylines of Hell City are either gone or reappearing for their next entrance. The wedding of Bismarck Saedor and Maria Jones will be taking place later this week, after two years of planning. Mr. Saedor has taken extra security measures to ensure that the wedding runs smoothly, without interference from Lucifer and his followers. However, it has been quite the scramble, so they say. Frederika Bernkastel, wanted for illegally taking Erika Furudo, Rika Furude, and sixteen others' souls from their bodies and having them possess living bodies, is still at large, though, since Christmas Eve of 2042, actual sightings of Bernkastel are rare. It's said that Bernkastel murdered her ex-girlfriend, Katerina Lambdadelta, after reuniting with her. That event seems to be more recent; she left Lambdadelta's severed head hanging from the doorknob of Pack's Law's HQ early this morning, with nothing but a note reading, "She was annoying".
It is exactly 8:07 AM. The weather is stormy. With this information lodged in your head....
