Sieghardt
Incarnadine Emperor
The deafening sounds of the church bells ringing throughout the battlefield had caused Sieghardt to lose his balance in the middle of the evacuation protocol. It was his duty and obligation to vacate the people that had survived the initial attack, as his entire squadron was wiped out in a blink of an eye, under the gaze of the Euclidian lieutenant that had cried for the end of humanity since the beginning of this harsh war. Sieghardt stared at his watch, distressed at the sight of the people panicking before him, desperately trying to save their kin as if the future held hope for even for the younglings. How depressing it was to be this powerless. Without the mystical powers that the Euclidians utilized, humanity had no hope.
It wasn't like Sieghardt to surrender to the negative thoughts of despair. But for a man who was awaiting death as the wound on his forehead spilled blood across the pale snow beneath him, no man could blame him for not moving a muscle to at least try to save someone. His entire company was decimated in an instant, and the wielders of the Synthetica power were thinning at an alarming rate, according to his commander before their outpost was bombed by their enemies. With this information, it was obvious why Sieghardt had resigned from his valued philosophy.
His mind had refused to go further, but his hands were defying him as he witnessed the death of women and children before him. Sieghardt, without agreeing to his body's movements, automatically moved his damaged body to take out his blade to slash the monster that was going to bare its fangs inside the frightened woman. He had saved her, even though she was going to die and be buried beneath the blizzard sooner or later.
With blood flowing across from his forehead to the neck, Sieghardt pointed at the exit point where the woman and her child should run to if they wanted to at least survive for another hour. The woman had left her thanks and hurriedly dashed for the exit, being careful not to trip on the deep snow as she carried her child in her motherly arms.
