His gaze turned towards the new arrival laying next to him. A smirk forming on his lips, but no sarcastic comment coming out. He had craved some form of company for a while, at least company that wasn't shouting or fighting, and he had a tendency to mess it up easily. Would it be much of a loss considering who it was? Maybe, maybe not. He didn't feel like being an ass. The view was too good for that. His eyes turned back towards the stars above, counting them with his arm outstretched making little drawing patterns as if connecting the dots between them. After a second or two, his voice, no modification or wit, elicited a few words.

"Lucas Rivera. Surprised you didn't know already. My father used to be on the Council and work alongside the Chancellor. I guess it was a while ago. People probably forgot about everything that happened around that eventually, right? I would ask yours, but I feel that would be pointless if you already know the answer."

He gave a weak smile, still concentrating on the sky above.

"What brings you here? Figured you of all people wouldn't want to talk with me. Which would be entirely understandable. Not that I would ever admit it in front of people, of course."

There was nothing wrong with a little chat. No one would be turning over in their atmospheric graves for that. Energy was something he didn't want to waste, as she had pointed out earlier around the fire. Talking quietly was a good break.

"Unless you wanna take a jab. I know I would. Go ahead, i'm open to criticism. Not my hair though, it takes a great amount of time to get it looking like this without a comb. Hands are awful tools."

June Espinoza
Lights, stars, black. The sounds of machines whirring, teenagers whining and crying, and clipping of parts, like a seat belt, setting into place. The subtle rev of a small vehicle sounded in his ears, the feeling of virtigo as his body moved at greater speeds. Then the black again. That was the sequence of events that repeated themselves in his head, all that he could remember. He could barely make out his name, and stuttered to himself, "Ju.. Juhu... June." He whispered under a breath, one hand on the ship's railing, the other on his left knee. He was bent down, head facing the ground as vomit erupted from his mouth. Blood dripped from a huge laceration over his forehead. June could barely make out the faces of the other 100 that had already began leaving the ship. Every so often his head would ring in pain, and he'd clench the railing even tighter. What happened to me...? Where am I?" He asked himself. The first question was answered as he looked up, and saw the top of the railing painted in the same blood that pooled around his feet.

People had, obviously, came to aid of the disoriented teen. But for some reason, everybody seemed to recognize him, whereas he wasn't sure he'd met any of these people in his life. What was he doing in this space craft with all these foreigners? With all his effort, he mustered up some strength, and walked in the direction of the ship's exit, hoping to recognize someone or something familiar in this place. Ever so often he'd lean onto one of the ship's sides for balance, doing so until he could exit the ship. There was a small open of greenery where everybody stayed and settled themselves. June really should've taken heed, but instead, found himself wondering into the woods. His biggest mistake yet.

June had been walking for hours, or maybe the fatigue and constant migraines made it feel that way. Eventually, the sound of cracking wood, and shaking leaves startled him. And in seconds, his feet were off the ground, forcefully yanked by another person or animal, he wasn't sure. The last he remembered was a strike to the head, and he was out like a light. He woke up in a cave-like setting, surrounding by over 10 of these cave-men who didn't seem to understand English. In his own tongue, he begged for first-aid, for some sort of communication device, and eventually, mercy as they turned to beat him senseless. His screams went unheard in the Grounder's hideout, but he wasn't able to speak after.

The Grounders disappeared for hours. June had his left eye swollen shut, cuts and bruises all over his arms, and his lip and cheek busted and dripping with blood. "Please... don't. Please." He asked, though this time the Grounders had bound his hands, placed a bag over his head, and carried him into the shadows of the night. Vision in June's good right eye returned once they'd stood him up straight, and propped him before a bonfire, and other teens his age. His vision was blurry, and disoriented, but a single tear trickled down his right eye. One, of the many he'd shed that day. He felt the blunt of his attacker against the back of his knees, and dropped onto his knees in the dirt, barely keeping his balance. His face stared down at the ground, allowing more blood to drain downwards.

He wasn't familiar with these people, but he hoped someway, somehow, he'd be at any of their mercy.

Mags had been hiding in the shadows of the dropship wishing she didn’t feel anything, but she had let all her tears fall and soon she heard footsteps on the dropship, and she silenced herself. Mags wiped her face not wanting anyone to see her weakness even though she didn’t know anyone that well. She had been the one to cause a ruckus already, she stayed in the darkness for only a moment before she exited back towards the fire. Her eyes scanned for Clay and she glimpsed him. Of course, she thought about checking on him, but she didn’t want him to know she may have cared a little. Sure, he checked up on everyone that was him, but she wasn’t like him and she wasn’t going to start now. Instead she stared at the fire for a second before she heard a scream. Her head snapped to where the sound came from. Her heart was racing and of course she didn’t know what it could be or who it could be. That was when she saw a man with a boy around her age. The words that came out were hard to understand and they didn't sound quite English but she could tell he was hostile. That was more than enough to tether blood to boil.
Mags being one not to back down in fear didn’t go screaming in terror she instead took steps closer, “We don’t come with malice dude, so maybe calm your testosterone and put your small penis energy away.” She wasn’t one to shy away from any confrontation. Her hands were in her pocket as she kept her eyes locked on the male who she assumed was the leader. Magnolia rolled her eyes a little and sure she knew she should be shaking and acting scared but that seemed like exactly what this guy wanted and that meant she couldn’t run off, she had to keep herself stoic and undisturbed. Insulting the man might not have been smart of Magnolia but at least she knew fighting all these people was bad. Not that she couldn’t handle herself. If she had injured guards and full-grown man, she had faith in herself. Her heart was pounding in her chest as she spoke but she still knew she had to be one of the tough ones of the group.

Remmick had being at the fire with Mae and he had raised his eyebrow to her question and just as he was about to respond he heard a scream and his train of thought was gone. He looked over to see a male being thrown to the ground and he quickly stood up. Not moving from his position by the fire. He had been frozen in fear but he had recognized the male on the ground. June. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. How had he even gotten to the ground and how had he gotten captured and beaten? So many questions had been running through Remmick head, "I know that guy." he muttered, "June!" he yelled finally. He was ready to charge until he saw the large male and he stopped.
That was when he saw his cousin. She was calm her face had shown no fear. He couldn't believe how much of an idiot she was being as she spoke to the man who had yelled in a language that wasn't English. He stayed frozen in his spot watching what was to unfold because of his cousin. She had done more than other had seemed to be doing in the moment which for her was shocking. He knew his cousin only cared for herself so he had been shocked to see her standing up for a whole group of kids. It was out of character for her but the confrontation wasn't. He knew how much his cousin hated those who thought they could tell her what to do and he could only assume that was the challenge she was taking on. So he quietly watched wondering what others would do. Especially after they were being surrounded by what looked like nine maybe ten more people.

Clayton Moore
giphy.gif

Clayton had taken a moment to himself, separating himself from the teenagers around him. He was embarrassed to say that even though they hadn't even gone a single day without food, but he was already feeling the effects of not having consistent meals. Even if the meals on the ark were small and rationed out they were always consistent. And this was the least consistent day he had ever had. He hadn't expected to be thrown into a drop ship and told to figure out how to survive. Being on the ground was a blessing but it also came with a lot of things that they had to figure out. Surviving wasn't going to be as easy as it had been on the ark, he knew that. But at least it seemed like they would survive.

Clayton heard Magnolia's voice, pulling him out of his thoughts of hunger and survival. Ironically he had completely missed the giant man coming into camp and seeming to threaten all of them. How had he missed June disappearing, he was doing a horrible job at watching over everyone. Even if it wasn't his job to, he needed people to survive. The Ark needed the 100 to survive, the Ark needed to know they were surviving. It was the only way they would ever be able to save everyone.

He turned to face the fire again, he could see the man starting to walk towards the rest of the group. Clayton knew there wasn't much he could do, he was sure that this man could kill him with a flick of the wrist, but he couldn't act afraid. Not now. Not when they needed someone to stand up for them, and he couldn't see Mags be hurt. He didn't want to see anyone else be hurt, June already looked like a mess.

"Hey." Clayton swallowed as he walked, he kept his voice sounding confident even though he was feeling exactly the opposite. "We aren't here to cause trouble." He raise his hands. "We were just looking for survival."

Rowin Kom Trikru
tumblr_n2h9qaCuwg1r560ido3_250.gif

"I wasn't going to let you come out here by yourself." Rowin smirked, she always liked catching Vetra off guard. And maybe, just maybe, Rowin let curiosity get the best of her for once. She let go of her fear just so she could actually experience something for once. She was right, they were just kids, kids that obliviously knew nothing about the ground. She was no longer longing for her ancestors to have gotten the chance to fly into the sky, to have grown up like one of them. They were untrained, and lacked any knowledge to really survive.

Rowin never thought it could get any worse. They were in Trikru territory, and as far as she knew. Vetra and her were the only two that had ventured this far out to investigate. The rest only knew of the sky people as a rumor. But yet, the one tribe she feared, and never expected to see had shown up. Shown up to threaten the poor, naive kids. Rowin was frozen in place herself, she could only imagine the fear that was running through the children's heads below.

She went silent for what felt like eternity, minutes passed before Rowin could find the courage to say anything. "W-why are they here?" She clenched her fist around her bow. "We can't just sit here." Rowin knew that there wasn't anything they could do, the two of them were sitting ducks, 10 Azgedan's out matched the two of them on any given day. "We need to get help. You always have a plan Vetra."

Believe it or not. Wren believed the stars were prettier from afar, it sounds dumb. She's very aware of that, but... it was odd to her how people from centuries ago would dream of what space was like, and her people dreamed of what Earth would be like, what here would be like. Maybe the things you couldn't get to, somehow made you attracted to them? Right? Isn't that some kind of saying. 'You always want what you can't have?'

In a way, Wren wasn't sure if she'd ever want to go back. Why would she? There was nothing there for her anymore. Her father, maybe, but him alone amounted to nothing after what he did. "Yeah, well. After a while, I tended to not pay attention to what my father did. Or... who he associated with." Maybe the two used to play together as kids and neither of them remember? Whether or not they knew each other wasn't a big deal, but despite his... jackass facade. It seemed to Wren that he cared more than he let on. "Oh, right, of course." She kept her gaze on the stars as she continued. "Well, I thought why not? Imagine this as me... opening a hatch door to a world I know nothing about." Wren was curious, that was all that could be said if she was being honest.

She heard small murmurs of commotion but thought nothing of it.

"I mean, if you use them the right way they make useful tools. But relax, I'm not here to critique you. I just..." She shrugged the most she could in the postion she was in. She needed a breather. Arguing about plans or settling down some of the rather violent and egotistical ones kind of put a damper on her energy. "This?" She gestured around them, scoffing in disbelief before she glanced towards him.

"Is... a lot to take in." She didn't just mean the planet, she meant the people, the means, and however the hell they were going to survive.

While the vast majority of the teenagers cowered, there were outliers. Those that were too young and naive, or just too stupid, to realize that they were in immediate danger. Some girl stepped up, throwing insults at him and rolling her eyes. Just like the Sky Boy, she didn't speak Trigedaslang either and her English was better than most Grounder's. Aktobehr was pleasantly surprised that at least someone had some backbone. Granted, that someone was still just a teenage girl, but still. If nothing else, Aktobehr respected her a little bit more for it, though not enough to do her any good. Soon after the girl spoke up, a boy separated himself from the crowd, holding his hands up like he was surrendering or something. Foolishly, the boy approached the Grounders, taking one step after another towards Aktobehr and the other Azgedans.

Again. Stupidity or young naivety? The moment Clayton come within reach, Aktobehr's arm snapped out. One closed fist came to grip the boy collar, pulling him closer so Aktobehr could snarl in his face. "Did I tell you to come, dog!?" Aktobehr barked, still speaking Trigedaslang. Aktobehr's free hand shot into Clayton's gut. Aktobehr only released his shirt when the boy doubled over, showing Aktobehr the back of his head. The back end of Aktobehr's ax came down in a sharp and quick arc, cracking against the back of his skull like a whip. Raising his ax again, Aktobehr spun his grip so the blade would strike this time but before he even swung he felt hands prying at his wrist.

Yet another girl had stepped out from the terrified teenagers, though she hadn't said a word. Schuyler's eyes widened as she stared up at the mass of muscle that was now glaring down at her. A moment ago she had just been another face in the crowd, she hadn't even thought about stepping in for Clayton's sake, she had just kind of done it, but now she regretted it. Aktobehr couldn't effectively swing the ax with her latched onto his forearm, but that problem could be solved easily enough.

His free hand grasped at his belt and there was a flash of steel. Cold metal reflecting firelight for just an instant before it was gone again.

There was a noise like choking, then Schuyler's body slumped down, sliding off the bloody dagger held in Aktobehr's hand. The girl held her throat, desperation guiding her hands around her neck, but it wouldn't help. She would would lie there, choking on her own blood in front of everyone. Luckily for her, Aktobehr didn't have time to wait. Another flash of steel and his ax had cleaved through her throat, effectively killing her then and there. Blood dripped from the jagged weapons, pooling at Aktobehr's feet. Slowly, the man looked back down at Clayton.

"No one walks away from here." He ordered in Trigedaslang, prompting the other Azgedans to brandish there weapons...

June Espinoza
June watched as the first of the Sky Crew rose in his defense. A girl his who appeared close to his age, as did the rest he noted. She cursed out his kidnapper with a strong fire, which made June unsure if she was courageous or stupid. The line between the two only seemed to mix. More and more grounders appeared in the forest behind him, and though he could only make out so much with his one eye, they were armed, grizzled, and much larger than the counterparts that looked more similar to himself.

June twitched at the sound of one of the Sky Crew boys calling his name. Somehow they recognized him, but he wasn't too sure who any of them were. Not that he could properly make out faces anyways with his messed up vision. The voice was slightly familiar, and gave June the idea that he was somehow related to these people. Perhaps a sibling, or a friend had called out. But why wouldn't he remember? The thinking only made the swelling pain him more, and he winced, and turned his eyes back to the ground where they didn't have much to focus on in the night. Allowing his eyes to rest, and somewhat ease the pounding of his head.

Then a boy, who seemed like the leader of what June supposed was his group rose to the front, and spoke confidently in spite of the stakes at hand. His life, obviously, and most likely the lives of the remaining Sky Crew if these Grounders really wanted to kill them. Jinx. Another girl, one he didn't recognized appeared in hopes of distracting the grounder from the confident Sky Crew member, and in swift fashion, had her life taken away. "What was that for, you over sized buffoon!" He shouted, and could only stare as the blood and life drained from the innocent girl.

He turned to the rest of the Grounders, waving his head. "You guys have to go. All of you." He begged.

Redick kom Buralo

Redick and his sister, Zora, moved swift through the camp and slipped away in the confusion like thieves in the night, the two siblings didn't truly understand the chaos that would ensue once they arrived at the site of the crash... Nor it's repercussions...

Redick felt the snarl cover his face, baring his teeth like a dog giving its final warning before it dove into a fight as he watched the Ice People march into the camp with no other purpose other then to intimidate and cause hurt. He had no reason to join in until the biggest brute of the bunch started throwing his blade around, using it to kill without reason, this ass was making war on a bunch of unarmed children in Redick's mind. "Cover me... We have to stop this, this is madness.." His voice was low, a whisper that was harsh and filled with emotion, a mix of rage and pain. His heart ached, he didn't know who these people were but he was going to stand up for them, he truly was the son of The Witch. Fuil looked towards his master, his deep amber eyes were bright and shimmered in the night while his fur bristled, hackles raising and the tension in his muscles growing tighter then ever as he followed him human into war.

Despite how big and tall Redick, he moved down the slope into the deep pocket of woods with no effort and total silence, gliding like a ghost over the graves of the past as it searched for the key to the afterlife. Fuil was close, clipping his heels, the massive wolf's skull was lowered to the earth as they moved as one singular force towards the bonfire. "Great Mother protect us...." It was the last words Redick spoke before he broke into a run, the heavy spear in his left hand was being raised to balance on his shoulder so he could be prepared to swing it against his first target. They moved as one into the light, materializing through dark trees as if he had appeared by chance and dark rituals, a war cry roared from his throat like he was a lion as he swung the spear like a club. The blade was fine and sharp, slicing one of the Ice warriors across the face with a solid whoosh as blood spurted, "Fuil, get him!" The mass of silvery-white fur leapt towards the warrior's throat, taking skin and muscle between his jaws with a crunch, red staining white. While his guardian fought his target, Redick directed his attention after the biggest brute of the group and moved towards him, bringing the spear around like a sharp club again, "Fight me.... Not them." He spoke the native tongue of the Grounders, enjoying the harshness of the words as they grinded past his clenched teeth and his blue eyes burned like fire, issuing a challenge that would be met.

Mae Whitlaw
Mae Gif 13.gif

Chaos.

It started to seep in when the strange men appeared from the darkness.

It took hold when they revealed June.

It erupted when the ass Clayton was hit.

It overwhelmed when Blondie crumpled.

It consumed when the creature attacked and another strange fighter appeared.

All around her chaos took hold but Mae found herself stock still in the middle of it, like she was in the eye of the storm. She didn't know why but something in her refused to panic, refused to lose it. Clearly something had screwed up in her psyche over the years, that was for sure, because there was no fear in her which was either a really good thing... or a really really bad thing. Her mind flicked through options of what to do, trying to decide when the universe decided for her. Out of the corner of her eye, Mae caught sight of a small group of tweens frozen in fear way too close to the strange, heavily armed and very dangerous looking men for it to be good for them. Instinct took over and something in her just knew that she needed to protect them somehow. She glanced sideways at Remmick but noted that his gaze was locked on his cousin. Of course, no matter how dysfunctional they were they were family and that needed to be his priority. Dang, how was she being so rational right now? Hells if she knew, but if it helped her then she was good with it and could just question it some other time; perhaps say, when there weren't angry men speaking some gutteral foreign language who seemingly wanted to kill them.

Looking down, she grabbed the biggest stick that wasn't burning that she could from around the fire, feeling the weight in her hand as she gripped it. Well it wasn't great up against the stabby stabby knives and other weapons of the strange men but it was better than nothing. After a quick glance back at Remmick, Mae was off, bombing it straight for the tweens. "Are you guys alright?" she asked, her eyes scanning over them as she spoke. "Right, good because we need to move okay? We need to get you somewhere to hide." The tone of her voice was calm and non-threatening but also clear enough that there was to be no arguing. Mae scanned her surroundings, looking for the best place to stash the kids. Unfortunately there was one of the armed men between them and the dropship so they'd have to head out of the clearing and into the trees. Dammit.

With no other option, Mae led the kids into the darkness of the trees, using what little light made it through from the bonfire to locate a large-ish hollow between some rocks that the kids could just about squeeze through into. "Okay," she swallowed, trying to act like this was all going to be hunky dory enough that the tweens would keep some semblance of hope. "In you go guys." Quickly she ushered them in, counting them as she did. Six. Six kids who were too young to deserve what had clearly become a death sentence. No. She couldn't think about that, couldn't think like that. They were on the ground now whatever happened and she just had to deal with that. So what next? Well now to get sneaky.

Mae couldn't do nothing, couldn't just run. So instead she found herself creeping slightly further into the forest, making her way in an arc towards the backs of the attackers. Maybe her and her stick could do something to help fight them.

Vetera of Trikru
tumblr_m95diu4fbe1qcj3cno7_250.gif

Vetera didn’t understand why Rowin would want to help these people. They were strangers and as far as Vetera was concerned, not worth the trouble. If the Azgedan’s wanted to kill them all Vetera was in no position to stop them. There wasn’t enough time to run for help. Vetera simply shook her head at Rowin, this was inevitable. If they tried to help themselves, they would die, and if they went for help all the sky people would already be dead by the time they got back. Rowin was right, though, Vetera did always have a plan. It just wasn’t always a happy one.

“I do have a plan, and right now it’s to go home.” Vetera spoke quietly, “It will take too long for help to get here. This isn’t our problem, they were the ones stupid enough to light a damn bonfire.” Vetera glanced back down at the terrified children below them, “I am sorry. There is nothing we can do, ai lukot.” While she felt that it wasn’t there job to help in the first place, she wasn’t completely heartless and that was evident by the deep frown marring her face. These were children about to be senselessly slaughtered by a bunch of brainless Azgedan’s, too focused on bloodlust to even attempt to speak with the sky people. Tragic, but beyond help.

Vetera was just about to turn and take off through the trees when what she knew would happen began. The damned Ice brain from earlier that day had knocked out one and sliced the throat of another. Vetera flinched as the girl fell to the ground. It was definitely too late now as she bled out on the forest floor. But then there was a movement from the tree line and a man emerged from the trees, followed closely by a wolf companion. Vetera’s eyes widened as the man slashed the face of one Azgedan and the wolf took to another. A smile found its way onto Vetera’s face as the man stood before the brute form that morning. Maybe this wasn’t so hopeless after all. If Vetera’s eyes served her correctly, this was a Rock Line man. Perhaps he could use some support. Vetera’s bow was in her hands in a flash and she turned to Rowin with a glinting grin.

I have another plan.” She let loose an arrow that lodged itself into an Azgedan’s neck. He spluttered, reaching up and clawing at the arrow as he fell to his knees. Vetera made no move to leave the trees as she set to fire another, waiting for the Rock Line warrior to make his move.

These are children. You will not have them.” Vetera whispered to herself.

As much as Rowin wanted Vetra to be wrong, as much as Rowin wanted some miracle way to save these kids there wasn't one. Even if they could make it back in time with an army, there was no way they could convince the commander to send out troops just to save some sky kids. This wasn't their fight. They could have maybe created a distraction but, it wasn't worth their lives or their kru's to start a war between Trikru and Azgeta.

Rowin watched as the leader violently knocked out the boy, and then slit the throat of the blonde girl. She gasped audibly, quickly covering her mouth. Even with the field training she had, she had never gotten over the death and killing. It always had an effect on her that didn't seem to bother the others. How they were able to compartmentalize the killing, she would never understand.

She wanted to turn away, she was ready to follow Vetra back. Rowin had to let go of that hope for a miracle. But yet something caught her attention before she turned back around. "Bouda-kru" She whispered to Vetra, "Now we have a chance." She smirked following Vetra in drawing her bow. Releasing it effortlessly into the leg of an Azgedan who had a hold of one of the sky people.

Even if Ice Nation was threatening the sky people, she hated the idea of killing others. As her tribe made sure to point out to her, she was considered weak. But she felt like she had a greater purpose.

The fighting stopped for a moment as the man from Rock Clan came to a halt, getting up in the face of the Azgedan man. Rowin kept her arrow noxed, just in case she had to make a quick shot as she watched the rest unfold.

Ember Jackson

(Super dramatic gif lolol)

Ember never expected so much chaos to ensue. She felt frozen in place. One moment she had been smiling and enjoying company for the first time ever, the next they were all frightened for their lives. There wasn't anything to do either, none of them were equipped to fight, they had just learned how they may survive on the earth. They had never expected to find survivors either, they had been raised to believe the earth had been unlivable these past 100 years. But yet here they were, cavemen like people from the stories she had read, standing in front of them threatening their lives.

Ember wanted to scream as Clayton was knocked out, but nothing escaped her lungs. She wasn't even sure that she was still breathing. She could feel her heart beating rapidly within her chest, so she must of been still alive, right? Ember swallowed hard when she watched the man slit the throat of the blonde girl, her eyes were wide and petrified in place.

She heard thundering, she hadn't thought that it would get any worse. But yet, more were coming for them. They had no chance of surviving, the people of the ground were sure to kill them, since the ground hadn't yet. The Ark had sent them to their deaths, and she was almost sure this was worse than being floated, even if she didn't want to test that theory.

Ember watched as a man came out of the woods, a large spear balanced upon his shoulder. As scared as she was, she couldn't take her eyes away, watching as the wolf listened to his masters cues and dove upon the men surrounding them. Some how they had landed within a war zone, still not really knowing what the man had said to them. Yet the words intrigued her. She should of felt more afraid than she did, but yet something told her they were going to be okay now...

With his bloody ax and equally bloodied dagger held firmly in his hands, Aktobehr turned on his heels, watching as the teenagers understandably panicked. A sick grin crawled across his lips, satisfaction. He'd come to see them all terrified, and in just a matter of moments, he had accomplished his goal. The brutish Ice-man had been just about to charge into the crowd of of scattering teenagers when a wolf jumped from the shadows followed by what could only be assumed to be the wolf's master. The wolf tore the throat from one of the Azgedans, thrashing it until the man's body went limp and lifeless, coming to lie in the dirt not far from the now-dead teenager. Another Azgedan fell to his knees after the man's heavy spear whipped through the air, slashing him across the face and all but shattering the bone's around the man's eye. Adding insult to injury, the man went on to challenge Aktobehr directly.

Aktobehr's lip rose in a snarl. "This is not your fight." He snapped, dropping the bloody dagger and replacing it with his second ax. Aktobehr's eyed the man's spear with caution. Long and sharp, the stranger had a reach advantage of Aktobehr easy. However, Aktobehr doubted he'd be able to effectively wield the heavy weapon for long. "You should've stayed out of it..."

An arrow zipped past Aktobehr, sinking into another one his men. That was like a starting gun. The moment the arrow found it's mark, Aktobehr was charging at the man with the spear. He held his axes ready, prepared to bat away the heavy spear head. That was the goal, get past the spear head. As dangerous as the spear's reach was, it would be practically useless if Aktobehr could just managed to get within arm's reach of the man.

@Whoever. I'm too tired to check who.

Mags was ready to fight when Clay had come to intervene, she hadn't needed his help and yet he seemed to always step in. She was going to say something until the brute leader of the ground people spoke. Of course she had no idea what he was saying but she knew it was full of anger and it was nowhere near peaceful. That was when she saw the man take down Clay. That was when she felt a sort of pain in her for him. She couldn't lose him. She was about to charge when she saw Blondie do the same and then she was in a pool of her own blood. Mags stood frozen in fear, it was the first time she had really ever felt fear in a long time. Her heart was beating rapidly as she watched everything unfold. She watched as chaos began to unfurl around her and in that very moment she remembered just how small she was, how no matter how tough she acted in this moment she wasn't ready to die. That was when she heard another ground person yell and a large animal came from out of the woods attacking those aggressive warriors. She watched as others fell around her and she closed her eyes hoping it was all some sort of bad dream. When she opened them she knew it was all happening. Clay was still down and injured not moving and she was concerned he was dead. This was her chance to quickly grab him from the brute and drag him to some sort of safety if she could.
As her feet were hitting the ground she kept low and tried to grab Clay from the middle of the chaos around him and started to drag him. She didn't get him far before she had to stop and breathe, 'Why is he so heavy?' she thought to herself. She began to pull again and finally gave up when she thought she had moved him to a safe distance away from the vicious brute. All she could do now was find herself a spot to stay out of the crossfire but that meant she had to abandon Clay. She was conflicted in that moment. She knew she couldn't keep dragging him but she didn't want him to have the same fate as Blondie. She only wished things were easier on the ground but now everything was scary and she felt minuscule.

Remmick had never been more scared in his life. He had watched as his friend was bloodied and bruised and there was nothing he could do. He wished he could help his friend more but the cost of his life weighed down on him so he didn't. He needed to find safety and protect himself. He looked over and saw his cousin struggling to drag a body before he saw her give up and then stand in contemplation. He needed to protect his family. He quickly ran to his cousin and pulled her from the middle of the chaos ignoring her sounds of protest. Family always came first regardless of how they felt about one another. He needed his cousin safe and out of harms way. As he grabbed his cousin he saw Mae had disappeared into the forest and couldn't figure out what the girl was doing. He knew he couldn't help her not when he was already busy with Magnolia.
Once he knew that they were far enough from dance he looked in his cousins face and made sure she was okay, he needed to make sure she wasn't injured. That was when he felt her push him and he stepped back from her, "Yeah, you're welcome." he said angrily, "Because you wanted to die out there." he rolled his eyes her and grabbed her hands as she kept trying to push him. He knew she hated him just as much he hated her. It was deserved on both ends and they both knew it. He could tell his cousin had more fire now than she had ever had. He could only hope that she had the sense not to run back out in the middle of fight that was happening.

The thing was- Addy had put it together, sure, that if plants could survive, maybe so could animals. Large animals, even.

The idea that there might be animals of the human variety had not occurred to her, at least not in a way that she'd been willing to consciously acknowledge. It was just too strange, and somewhat horrifying, to contemplate.

Whatever naiviety, willful or not, that she may have been harboring was shattered when Aktobehr and his men emerged from the treeline.

It was nothing like anything she'd ever experienced before, but the threat of danger was somewhat known, and she responded instinctively. Her hands and the items in them went behind her back, she shifted to make herself into a smaller target, and she paid close attention to everything happening.

The strangers could kill Espinoza as far as she cared, which seemed likely, not that she could understand what it was they were saying. It wasn't English and it wasn't Mandarin, but it didn't sound like any of the other languages she'd heard spoken on the Arc.

She certainly wasn't willing to get killed over some guard, even if the others were. Idiots.

But the situation was developing rapidly, and as far as Addy could tell- She could do something, and possibly get herself killed for Espinoza. Or she do nothing, and also get herself killed for Espinoza. So, she might as well do something.

The men were mostly older than the delinquents, and stronger, and armed. But there was one she was eyeing as a possible weak link, standing on the far end of the group, closest to her- He was smaller, though not by much. But enough so that she could fool herself into thinking she'd taken on opponents of a similar size, and done reasonably for herself.

He was somewhat less alert, as well. Holding some sort of crossbow, but aimed lazily at the ground. He was a bit too distracted by his admiration of his fearless leader, Addy surmised. Which was a pity- His blatant regard for the man in charge probably meant the man held little regard for him, and he'd hold little worth to her as a hostage.

But it wasn't like she was in a position to be picky. Now she only needed an opportunity, a distraction of some sort-

An enormous dog thing was not really what she'd imagined, but hey. It worked.

Addy's target turned towards the animal and the newcomer, raising his crossbow and aiming it and the large beast. He took his aim and was about to fire, when Addy darted forward and whacked him over the head with the piece of scrap metal she'd been using to gather kindling. He staggered and dropped his crossbow, but didn't go down.

She ducked his first punch and got around to the other side of him to steer him back towards the fire and away from his comrades, but he came at her again and broke her lip with his second swing. Before he could raise his fists again, she grabbed his shoulders and brought her knee up into his groin with as much force as she could manage. He stumbled back in pain, and Addy's fist connected solidly with his temple. He swayed further, and Addy tackled him to the ground, pinning his hands beneath her own.

"Help me," she shouted, though it sounded quiet even to her, with the chaos swelling around them- There were arrows flying, and other people moving about, and who knew what else. "Strip his weapons," she instructed loudly to whoever might hear. "And give me one of the knives," of which he had plenty.

His eyes were crossed and woozy like he might slip into unconsciousness any second, but Addy wasn't going to count on that. He wouldn't stay down forever, unless she got something suitably sharp to stick in his throat.

Zila woke up with a pounding sensation in her head. Rubbing her head, she felt a bump where she must have smashed her head when the dropship crashed. It turns out those warnings to keep her seatbelt on were important. Looking around she realized she was the only one left, then she suddenly froze as she remembered that the ground was supposed to radiate people alive.

She slowly peaked outside the dropship, fearing that she would see all her fellow shipmates dying in extreme agony from radiation. Instead, she saw chaos and fighting going on. She didn’t know about grounders, so face paint must instead be the skin reacting to radiation. This must make them psychotic and violent, like rabies on steroids.

Having no military or combat training, Zila tried to sneak her way out of the conflict zone. She was almost clear when Addy tackled a grounder right in front of her. When Addy asked for a knife, Zila was relieved since this meant she didn’t have to kill anyone herself. She handed Addy a knife and said, “I am sure glad you are here since this place is scary.”
