Multiple Settings ah sh*t, here we go again...

Hello guys! Sorry this isn't a super pretty recruitment thread but I'm not really into coding lol. My username is Katzen but call me Moth! Due to Covid and spring semester ending soon, I am looking for a few new RP partners to write with! I guess I'll start a bit with my preferences in a roleplay!

  • I prefer more literate an advanced partners. I like to write a lot and if I'm really into the RP I can shoot out a novel. I guess I would describe my writing as pretty descriptive. Of course I don't expect all my partners to write a novel as well. But I would prefer for my partner to be able to easily write out 3 decently sized paragraphs per character.
  • I really want to collaborate with my partner. While I do have a few plots in mind they're all super open ended. I don't want to be the only person coming up with ideas throughout. I like to plan a little bit ahead, discuss possibilities and so forth.
  • I really like to be friends with my partner! Of course this isn't required but if I get really into the RP i sometimes make mood boards for the characters, drawings, playlists, ya know. So if you're like that too that would be pretty neato!
  • I prefer to double, as in I like to play both a male and female per RP. Of course this isn't always required but I think the story is always a lot more interesting with more characters, more variables, more possibilities.
  • I'm a sucker for romance. I pretty much always want to have it as a subplot in RPs. If you're not into romance than we might not meld. That being said I like slow burn romance, angst, enemies to lovers. All those cheesy tropes. But I cannot stand 'love at first sight' fluff. Eck.
  • I also tend to lean towards darker themes, blood, gore, horror, etc. I curse a lot, my characters curse a lot. If you're not into that we probably won't vibe.
  • I don't require face claims or character forms but if you're a person who loves them I'm totally willing to write one up if I don't have one for that character already.
  • I Rp only through DMs here or on Discord (but a fair warning I'm fairly new to discord soooo....)
  • While I do have more free time than usual I still have school for a few more weeks, family, friends, work, an outside life. I can't always be on all the time. I'm usually good to reply OOC a couple times a day if I have time but depending on the week I can shoot out anywhere from a few replies a day to one every other day. I prefer if my partner can reply about at least once a week in the RP.
  • Almost forgot, I've been RPing on and off for a several years and I would please ask for anybody inquiring to be eighteen or older.
For Reference of my style here is an example of my writing from a long going RP i'm currently involved in!
The forest had long since silenced from when the pair had first wandered past the invisible barrier that divided the land of the village and the unknown. The pair of robins she'd seen upon entering were nestled together in their nest now, feathers ruffled against the chill of the damp night air. What she wouldn't give to be one of those robins, unaware of the danger more meaningful than the cat's claws. Instead, her body was all but pressed the floor of the forest, a damp matting of leaves beginning to soak into the sleeves of her blouse. A bird didn't know the troubles of a demon.

Erin was surprised by herself, Jean's confession bothering her far more than she would've imaged. She was unable to keep her secret as well as she had thought. Jean had noticed and because of that, the priest had sent him after her. Fear began to build up a lump in her throat and reality weighed on her shoulders. The deacon's presence was still heavy against her back for only a moment more. His hand slid from her shoulder, landing in the mud besides her own hands so much smaller in comparison, besides the dying lilac. The weight lifted from her shoulders but the warmth of his body still hugged her back. She felt as if she was caged in, each arm to her side felt like a bar in a cell. She shivered, her shoulders bumping lightly into his forearms as she did so. Too close.

For a moment, Erin contemplated the repercussions of attempting to struggle free from the man's hold. If she squirmed hard enough, kicked and punched, maybe she could escape from between his arms that caged her underneath him. But then what? She could run but where to? Who to? Her breath caught in her throat. She knew he wasn't unarmed. The Father wouldn't send him out here without a weapon. If what he said was true, Father Abraham would have advised Jean to not preform the deed with bare hands.

"It's a messy, dirty business, Erin. But someone has to do it."

The Father's voice echoed in her head. But instead of the serious tone he always portrayed, her mind twisted his expression, his meaning. His lips curled into a cruel and knowing smile, eyes shining with nothing but pure, morbid excitement. She imaged him sitting by the fire back at the rectory, watching the flames as he stirred his cup of tea. A cup of tea made with his own hands instead of hers, knowing she wouldn't be returning, waiting for Jean to return with bloody clothes and a dirtied dagger instead. Her chest ached.

Did father Abraham look down on her so that he couldn't even be the one to do it? He had to send the deacon of all people. Even in death he thought so little of her. Would he miss her at all?

A quiet sob escaped from deep in the demon's chest, one she hadn't known she'd been holding in. Why did her heart hurt so when she knew this was all well deserved? In fact, Father Abraham had always been open to the fact that she may reach her end this way. He never tried to hide the fact that he may, one day, be the one to take her demise into his own hands.

"Someday, Erin. Someday you may loose your composure. You have to understand that what I do in that situation... it will be for the best. For you, and for this community."

The reminder rung in her ears like a bittersweet reminder of her inevitable end. Ink and tears rolled down the curvature of her cheeks, landing on the lilacs, her hands, and Jeans. The spatters slowly moved through the wrinkles and etches of their skin, spilling and staining the dying lilacs crushed beneath her palms. She wondered, would the oil leave a mark upon his skin after this all? Did it burn him? Did it hurt? If so, he didn't show a sign. Her small frame was wracked with another shaking sob. Erin couldn't help but wonder how pathetic she looked and silently thanked the Lord that her face did not meet the young deacon’s. Even with his hand no longer pushing her down, she still refused to look up.

"We... We can't do that, Jean." Her protest came only after a painfully long and heavy silence. " You know as well as me-- as anyone that I-" she took a shaking breath and swallowed back another cry. "I deserve this. We have no where to go." The flow of her tears had slowed but her body still trembled so that she felt her shoulders bumping against the deacons forearms once more. How sad was it that this was the first time she could recall, in months maybe years, that she felt the warm touch of another person?

Erin neglected to wipe away the tears, knowing the sleeve of her blouse would only become stained, smearing black and tears across her face. Oddly, and half absentmindedly, she thought that dying with such a look of grime on her visage was not how she wanted to be remembered. Even by someone like Jean who may only ever remember her for a monster. That was how anyone would remember her. Or would the pair spin a lie about what became of her? Instead of her being the monster, maybe they'd make her out to be a victim. After all, how would Abraham explain to the church that he knowingly kept a demon under his roof for decades?

And yet, despite it all, he protested. Why was he offering her an escape? She didn't deserve it, he of all people knew that. But here he was, tempting her in what could have been her last few moments. Maybe it was a test. But Erin was never an entirely optimistic person.

"Please," her voice cracked as she clenched her eyes shut. "Don't be this cruel. I know you won't spare me for your sake." Whatever game he was playing with her was only a mere attempt at getting her to relax, to prevent her from fighting. "I know what you need to do to me but please. Don't make this worse, Jean."

I guess I'll talk a little bit about a few plots I've been thinking about, some are new, some are old RPs I want to revive that just kinda dissipated oop

  • The Hand of Midan|| Fantasy, adventure, pirates || Double || My preferences: Muse B and D
    • Muse A is an infamous pirate, young for his age, revered by the pirate community, and hated by the law. To many, he'd described as a lucky bastard. He's been said to escape the most dangerous of situation in the most unlikely of circumstances with is royal crew blindly following. Muse B is only daughter of one of the most dominate kingdoms in the region. At a young age, her mother passed away. Since then, the king has been ever weary of his daughter's safety. She is never allowed out of the palace grounds without multiple escorts. Her father does it out of love, but she can no longer stand the smothering. Muse B wants to do something great for her kingdom and to prove her own strength to her father. So, following the writings and notes of her mother's own journals, she believes she has tracked down the location of the fabled Hand of Midan; a golden hand said to turn everything it touches into gold. Muse B knows that treasure could help the kingdom immensely. What the public doesn't know is that the kingdom is on the very beginning of it's downfall. Muse B is desperate not only to prove herself but to save her beloved home. So, runs away. Her plan? To hire a crew to help lead her to the treasure. But who does she run into other than the wiley Muse A? He agrees to help the princess under the guise that he instead with capture her for ransom to the king. However, after much convincing on Muse B's behalf, she somehow convinces Muse A to take the long shot and begin the hunt for the treasure. After all, he isn't called the luckiest of pirates for no reason.
    • Unfortunately, the beginning of the journey is has quite the rocky start. A pair of sirens, friends since childhood exist beneath the sea. Muse C is a daydreamer with their head in the clouds. They long to explore the surface world and are ever amused by the curiosities and oddities of the legged people. Muse D is her friend, a young siren who is seen as their tribe's 'prince'. Soon, he is expected to begin his training as the tribes next leader and take a mate. Unfortunately, he is ridiculously unaware of Muse C's love. And Muse C is just as unaware of Muse D's feeling for her. One day, their peaceful world is interrupted by another pirates ship sailing through the canal in which they call home. Muse C feel's sympathy for the humans as the tribe's siren calls begin. Without much thought, she chooses to try and save a pair of crew members who go overboard. Muse D, against his best judgement, chooses to go after his friend, a desperate need to protect her taking over him. The pair they save, ends of being Muse A and Muse B. The sirens drag the humans to a nearby island where upon the sirens learn of the human's intention. Muse C wan't to help. in her eyes, the sirens and humans working together for this cause can help bridge the gap between humans and sirens. Muse D is reluctant. If he leaves the tribe, he risks loosing his place as the next leader and letting them down. But Muse C convinces him it is for the good of the tribe.
    • And so the pair of sirens join the prince and pirate on a quest for the ancient Hand of Midan.

  • Space Pirates? (I don't have a title for this one) || Fantasy, sci-fi, adventure || Single || My preference: either or but I'd prefer to play a female
    • Muse A is a young and new aspiring Captain. They are given their first real mission from their superiors, to kidnap the child of well known tycoon in the galaxy, Muse B. Why? For the money of course. The organization Muse A is apart of is a well organized group of loners, rogues, and deviants come together for one thing and one thing only; greed. Muse B is only known by their name. There are no other details the public is aware of. Therefore, Muse B's species is entirely up to debate. Rumor has it, they're a grotesque combination of mismatching subspecies. Other rumors have it that they're simply human. Some even speculate they are the descent of a once thought to be extinct species. But know one, not even muse A expects the truth. Once muse A successfully captures the child, no one, not even herself, expects the truth. Muse B is one of the lowliest species in the galaxy, slave class. And what's even wilder is the fact that they doesn't even realize it. Pampered, and babies all their life, Muse B has no idea what the real world has in store.
    • Muse A, while delivering the Muse B back to base halfway across the galaxy, is tasked with protecting them from the jibes and harassment of the crew. In a way, they sympathizes with Muse B. Their own species is one that suffered great prejudice, but never in the way Muse A's has experienced. Despite their best judgement, they begins to feel empathy for Muse B. Will something spark between the most unlikely of pairs?
