Something Random
On the western side of the continent of Ravin is a land known as Alis this land is dominated by seas and islands, but the islands come from a mainland empire who had "united" them long ago. Alis is a land where each island or grouping of islands is unique. It is an oddly varied place, but there is a question arising among the islands. Is the empire really stable anymore?
The Alisar Empire has been thriving, but the islands aren't. Demor Island is still in a state of perpetual anarchy full of still dangerous beings and home to a still independent state.
The Kamina islands are falling into decline with the leaders there becoming less and less compitent of ruling people, and Alisar's emperor is thinking of using the islands more than he already is.
To boot even the mainland is having problems, but they're far more complex and harder to notice. Most of them are political issues, but still have potential to wreak havoc.
For the most parts things are calm and it seems like nothing bad could happen, but a timebomb unkown to many is beginning to tick. Once it blows, Alisar will fall to chaos.
1. No Godmoding: by that I mean every wound can't be minor, and not every battle can be walked out of without serious injury, and we may have times in the RP where characters will be in bed for weeks/days due to injury. Yeah, that bad.
2. TAKE initiative: I will be in initiativ for most of the time, but I expect people to be creative and to post even without me, especially if I haven't been active for long.
3. Build the story and world together: I don't want to be the sole creator of lore and story, do something too.
4. Warn us before leaving: Try to say in OOC when you will be inactive. Just so we aren't waiting
5. Just have fun

Come here if you need a few bits of info.
Monsters & Demons: I am perfectly fine with this. They aren't numerous and are quite rare. Almost no difference can be made between the two at times, but monsters are really animals and demons congregate in ruins, mystical areas, and in odd spots. Mostly ruins though save for Demor.
Politics & Land: The government is a simple feudal system with quite a bit of freedom, so politics are what you think, but the Empire lets practices be kept on most islands. The Kamina islands are like Japan culturally, structurally, and resourcefully. Demor is a unique case and is a major part in the first Arc I will make.
Slavery: In the mainland, slavery is common and is brought in from other parts of the continent where elves, beastinari, humans, and other races are commonly enslaved during conquering and sold off. The islands don't have slavery as a common practice, and slaves are mostly used for cheap labor to mine, farm, and do other labor intensive tasks. It exists, it just isn't a focus sadly.
Vampires: They aren't weak in the sun, they suck blood for power, and are weak to holy magic. Much like slaves they exist, but they aren't a main focus.
Magic: Viewed differently by the various cultures, but it is mostly just there in the mainland. People don't really like or dislike magic, but the latter seems to be popular.
But there is a story. Basically when a church was waging a magical inquisition, two factions rose up. The Sololei and the Magi. The Sololei believed magic should be free of politics and allowed to thrive with minor government regulations while the Magi were far more strict and orderly. Ultimately the Magi won, banned necromancy and restricted demon usage and a slew of other things. They won, but the two aren't all that different. Their paths to the same goal were just different.
Extra on Land: Because it is mostly islands, the place is rather...seafaring. There is also a rich amount of varying climates and cultures, so you can have some rather varying areas. A lot of port cities too. Trading is huge here and people from all around the continent come.
