Cassander is pretty much an enigma on that front right now (though I know what I'm going to do with him in the future lol) because the magic he has used so far has been a reflex in order to save his life or save the lives of people close to him (basically magic as a form of self preservation). By extension, this is what his foresight could be interpreted as. The vision he had of the Shattering was the first one he experienced to that extreme degree of detail and clarity - his other "night terrors" throughout his life have been vague premonitions of impending dangers or harmful circumstances. Basically his magic is an expansion of his resourcefulness, his capacity to survive, and his ability to turn circumstances to his advantage.
We've already seen this ability grow throughout the story, and I do plan to have it continue to, though always in the constraints set in place with the rules of this universe.

Well considering Defessus is a Paladin of Calcia and Nova's character is from Calcia, Defessus would definitely have heard of the creation of this massive ship. It doesn't seem like the sort of thing to be kept secret.

?? Why not? Calcia isn't just one city? It's a massive kingdom ? And he's a Paladin? To me its like thinking of a cop in the capital city like why would he know it was being built somewhere?? And it doesn't seem that massive if its a one man thing and it fit in the clearing - I just don't see it being massive especially if its like the first one ever

Still seems like the kind of thing people would talk about. "Hey dude, someone's building a flying boat." "What!?" Not to mention if Defessus was sent to escort the prince home, he's probably in good with the Emperor. You don't send just anyone to pick up your child. Thus Defessus would hear the juiciest gossip.

I guess. You're saying the Emperor and Defessus are friends then? I mean its entirely dependent on the idea that the Emperor would even know that some guy somewhere in Calcia was attempting to build a flying machine, and then that the Emperor would hang out with one of his Paladin and tell him about it for some reason? Cus he thought it was cool or something? The Emperor is not a fun guy lol. I think it was just because Defessus was so casual about it that I thought it was funny like he built it or something lol.

You know what? Defessus pulled it off the top of his head, to make himself sound cooler to the Dwarf (because they have a history together, fun plans in my head right now) and he's going to be surprised that he got it right.
At the very least Defessus is one of the most trusted Paladins due to his faith in the Creator, and his skill with his equipment, so when the time came to send someone to fetch the Prince the Pope (or whatever he's called here) said something along the lines of, "I can offer the help of one of our best."
