  You've been accepted into Savior's Crest University. It took some rigorous testing but you made it. What they didn't tell you is that you wont be studying to become doctors or lawyers. No, what you're studying is magic itself and how to bend and shape it into your own. You'll be learning to become a Embracer. You'll learn the truth about the world around you and how everything you may have suspected was all true. But what they won't tell you is that you've already been here, that your life is cursed to go in the same exact cycle that "They" will you to live. Over and over again, causing the magic to rot. This is the last cycle. There is no other option...
  
  Unless you're part of the Deck: A "chosen" five lives that have created entirely new within this life cycle. A King, Queen, Jack, Ace, and the Joker. The only hope for a new future, they themselves are created with magic fused into their core. They harness a specific sort of magic to their roles, at a gifted level--except for the Joker, who was born with 2. Which fate becomes you: the destruction of everything? Or it's salvation?   Battle Magic: the discipline of magic comprised of offensive and defensive spells, the study of magical warfare tactics, and the creation and buffing of magical weapons.
  
  Healing Magic: a magical discipline devoted to improving the physical and mental condition. There are many different disciplines in this branch of magic that have a variety of effects. Magicians who specialize in this area of magic are known as Healers.
  
  Alchemy: the study of the composition, structure, and magical properties of the elements. Alchemists throughout history have attempted to transmute base metals into gold, but none were ever successful.
  
  Control Magic: the ability to control another's mind through sheer willpower, allowing the one performing spells to control their actions, memories, thoughts, etc.
  
  Physical Magic: the magic discipline centered around the ability to manipulate the nature and properties of matter and energy. The many disciplines that branch from this group allow Magicians to manipulate heat, light and other radiation, sound, electricity, gravity, magnetism, and the structure of atoms. It is extremely rare though, now thought of as a myth.
  
  Luck Magic: User can manipulate luck by manifesting an energy that can make an unlikely event either positive or negative to happen. They can shift the energies to accomplish different effects due to its concentration; thus, the energy may be pre-existing.
  
  Divination(Psychic Magic): User can employ divination, a method of reading the future, the present and the past and/or provide help to a problem at hand by using an occultic, standardized process or ritual. Divination can be achieved by communicating with the supernatural (i.e. gods, demons, spirits, nymphs) or by reading certain patterns.

  Roles are as follows:
  King (M/F/NB): Specializes in Control Magic. They can persuade most people to do almost anything. They get by on their looks but secretly they need attention so they're validated. - taken
  
  Queen (F): A exceptionally talented healer. She can stitch wounds together without incantation, which is rare. With her heart worn on her sleeve she is rather reckless when it comes to saving lives. Could it be that she is motivated by loss? - taken
  
  Jack (M): The alchemist, he is bound by curiosity. He has a need to learn and puts everything on the backburner in order to his potions and practices. However, he is insanely proficient at putting these things together. He'd be really popular if he wasn't such a know it all. - taken
  
  Ace (F/M/NB): The badass. No, really, they're a badass user of Battle Magic. Don't cross them. They're guarded but they are not some helpless victim in this or any other realm. Disrespect will get your head on a pike, which could be a quite literal thing considering their temper.
  
  Blank(M/F/Any)- bound not by fate, a seemingly powerless Embracer who doesn't know their own potential. Could there be an ancient magic within that rival's that of the Lady Queen herself?
  
  and I will be taking the role of the Joker: a cool little nerd who can channel the powers others and use them as his own.

I was supposed to work tonight but I have been sick so they got someone to cover me (thankness). So I will be working on my CS, I am in no rush, but do you have a choosing/due date for the apps for these roles (I'm probably going to apply for the Ace as that's just my bread and butter).

YES! I'm glad you read it that way because it can be a little confusing to understand.

I am also curious about this as well so I hope it's ok to ask, I know everyone gets to have their own magic though the Blank is purposefully ambiguous and the Joker is a special case, is the Physical magic particular to any role? (don't worry I got the hint that the Ace is the Battle Magic user)

Physical and Divination magic are the basics of Embracer kind. But, you either have one or the other, in the beginning. No one has ever been reported in having both right off the bat, except for the Joker, my character.

Now, excuse me while I add that to official lore, lol.

The Cards are a different case, like Lucky. They have a sort of natural attunement to these oldest and rarest forms of magic. Magic is usually gained skill, but our characters have the inate ability to use their designated magic early on, with hints or "accidents" happening far too often around them. But, yeah...I like that your character can't really do regular magic right at the moment.
