  • โ€” a grand scheme
The magic is calling out, whispering futures in your ear-- the end of all if you let it become flesh.

    ---
You've been accepted into Savior's Crest University. It took some rigorous testing but you made it. What they didn't tell you is that you wont be studying to become doctors or lawyers. No, what you're studying is magic itself and how to bend and shape it into your own. You'll be learning to become a Embracer. You'll learn the truth about the world around you and how everything you may have suspected was all true. But what they won't tell you is that you've already been here, that your life is cursed to go in the same exact cycle that "They" will you to live. Over and over again, causing the magic to rot. This is the last cycle. There is no other option...

Unless you're part of the Deck: A "chosen" five lives that have created entirely new within this life cycle. A King, Queen, Jack, Ace, and the Joker. The only hope for a new future, they themselves are created with magic fused into their core. They harness a specific sort of magic to their roles, at a gifted level--except for the Joker, who was born with 2. Which fate becomes you: the destruction of everything? Or it's salvation? Play your hand carefully.

Hello! I like the look and sound of this, but if I'm following things right, there's only one spot left. Is that correct? If there are other people already involved, I think I would feel like the odd one out to be the only person who was recruited through the interest check.

Sorry, the roles are open. I just forgot to relabel them as such

Awesome! I'm interested. What is the meaning of the various roles? Or is that something that hasn't really been decided yet?

I have to set up the lore, but the roles have an affinity for a specific magic type. Stay tuned while I tweak everything. And thanks for the interest!

I have redone the Interest Check with a bit of Lore concerning the roles and the magic involved. Check it out!

I love the premise and the lore! I think that the origin of magic is pretty unique, not to mention heart-wrenching.
I'm interested in taking the King role, although I have a couple of questions. Does the King have to be male? And will we be using realistic or fantasy face claims?

The king role is not gender locked. And, I will hold a poll for the fc type.

Posted a WIP for now because I was unsure of a few things, so I have a few questions.

For one, what is the setting of the RP? Modern era? Would this work like Percy Jackson where Savior's Crest would be equivalent to Camp Half-blood? Do our characters know that they're of magic descent or are they unknowing of it? if it is the latter, are they able to perceive magic around them, if there is, if they don't know that they can do it because written in the lore "Only those who want it can wield it."? Also if they don't know if they are of magic descent, does Savior's Crest present itself as a normal school? Do they apply in assumption of taking a mundane program like a BS degree in Pharmacy, or would they be receiving a letter that they are accepted into Savior's Crest like in Hogwarts?

The rp takes place in a modern era and the school is kinda like Camp Half Blood in the way that it is unseen to the normal eye. To everyone other than embracers it just looks like a patch of land. If they approach it, they immediately want to turn back. If you don't believe in magic you won't see it or precieve it in any way. You recieve a letter that tests your magic. If you can see what the letter really says, you're in. Some people are from a long line of Embracers, some are completely new to the craft. I hope this answers the majority of your questions.

:0 might throw my hat in the ring again for this if you'll have me !

It's certainly helpful! Might I ask if it's possible to also be from a long line of Embracers and be unknowing of it? Like for example, my character's mother didn't know of their heritage and in turn my character also didn't know of it until a certain event that led to her using magic subconsciously.
