Nation Building Ghost in the Machine

To make an RP fun you have to let you opponent have some victories, then you get some of your own. eventually leading to a final result that is, hopefully in your favour.


 
@Seymour If you want to get involved someone crash into my planet ship... I am sure you will be terrified by the giant insect dogs stalking the place.


 
I mean its not like we are goingto put any effort into dealing with you while fighting off a huge borg fleet, I mean it may look tiny to the PLANET SHIP,but the planet ship isnt designed as a destroyer of worlds sort of thing, its just what they need for FTL and as an added bonus they make it feel like home.

Agreed, I just like having as many victories as I possibly can within reason. Like the whole AI thing, I saw loopholes and the like I could exploit however shes not sticking around and it doesn't look like ill get much out of it but that's all right with me and Galumora. Were both satisfied with whats happened as of the moment.


Remember, the Dredge Like Challenges that force them to prove themselves better. Finding something that they cant overcome only makes them work harder to prove that obstacle was only a roadblock that they could either drive around, or drive over.

The second thread boss is also why I haven't posted today as I've spent most of it hammering out the final ideas so it flows smoothly. Also while we talk about boss plots, Glitch is right. I'm a big supporter of the "Hero's journey" model for story telling, and you will see that through a lot of the plots. Most of the plots will seem like impassible obsticles at first and yes, factions will get steamrolled to begin with, however through most of the plots there is generally items and characters that will be introduced that will assist the hero's in their goals and help bring about the end of a boss.


Do know that no matter how hopeless a situation gets, we GM's do have a plan as to how we all can eventually succeed against whatever universal menace is here.
 
Does that plan involve Victory for the Kaelo during this encounter? xD Because Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuudge. In my head I see the Kaelo panicking and things exploding everywhere.. my head shows only a bad outcome.
 
Boss plots are long and since the planet's also about to implode the likelyhood of us winning this first battle is rather slim.


However players did achieve the goal we had set for them in this portion which was to retrieve the AI, so we are on the right track to eventually defeat them. Do know that each boss will take a while to defeat so just because I'm officially writing up the plotline for the next boss doesn't mean we're close to killing Sardanos. I'm plotting this out in advance and will likely be tackling Chapter 3 after this.
 
After some discussion between I and @Romulus VenZiel It has been decided that the attempted ddosing of the borg will have no affect. This has come about due to my decision to reinforce this rule:

It's not about the effects of the move or the move itself, rather I've decided this due to being argued with over my decision.

We've all had to wait for someone in turn for a wee bit. Tis out of my control my internet is a pain and ive tried fixing it, hitting it with objects, resetting my router, yelling at it like an old time drill sergeant. Dooooesnt seem to be working. Trying to keep up with all my other rps is slightly stressful and it does say "Casual" on its tag. *grins* Don't you worry, if Roms on then it shall be done tonight. Sorry about last night though when I said id have it up, things got late and well I still do have to wake up in the mornings. Im no zombie. *chuckles*
 
Ill be waiting for ya on the google Document all right? May have to eat and then do some dishes but that shouldn't take to long.
 
Okay all, still working on recording that info for @Atom. But I will be taking a break to post once jarkov makes his post. Expect one tonight.

@Romulus VenZiel hey can you only post for the two Dreads Galumora is talking to? So we can get this crap moving again after that argumentative cluster fuck. If you do (because honestly nothing else has been happening on the Kukri interiors) I might be able to get two posts in tonight! A first since school started! I don't know, depends on how long It takes you to write yours up.
 
So, for my race, Im doing a sort of heavy psionic thing. Im thinking of getting another faction and having an uneasy alliance. The other faction would get technology, possibly some psi powers for a character and implants. I'll be acting as a sort of shadowy sponsor for the race I help, not taking too direct actions but helping nevertheless.
