Fantasy Magic Brew Cafè (CLOSED)

Ase made her way back down the stairs after locking the safe. She noticed Vincint pulling at his stitches and sighed "Vincent are you ready to go?"

Vincent jumped, not having seen Ase coming down the stairs. He mentally scolded himself before turning to her. "Yep!" he said with a smile, opening the door for her. Before he went outside he shouted to Seera, telling her to take care of the customers should they be delayed in coming back.

Walking outside, he scrunched his nose up as the smells of the alleyway hit his hyper sensitive nose. He turned to Ase as they began walking, shoving his hands in his pockets, "So how's angel life treating you?"

"its been good i guess" she looked up at the clouds in the sky and sighed "its pretty busy around this time of year"

Turning a corner, they continued walking, passing a human bakery. Vincent almost felt sick from all the sweet smell assaulting his nose. "How so?" He asked, generally curious. He had never really taken an interest in the affairs of angels, as being around them usually gave him a headache. He was immune to Ase's holy influence by now, however.

"well a lot of people tend to commit suicide around this time of year so guardian angels have a lot of work to do and then the rest of the angels including me have to help them move on." she sighed seeing they were leaving the alleyway , her wings glowed a bright white before disappearing. "ow ow ow" she muttered to herself.

"Ah, I see." Vincent said, eyeing her with some worry as her wings disappeared. In a prefect world she would have to do that, he thought sadly. In a perfect world I wouldn't have to hide my horns and tail all the time either, but that's beside the point.

"Are you okay? I know that hurts a lot." He told her, looking at her in sympathy.

"ill be fine don't worry" she said smiling at Vincent "lets get going the sooner we get the supplies the sooner we'll be safe from the hunters"

(Cue totally epic narration skills. lolnojk)

Vincent and Ase walked in silence, neither of them feeling the need to say anything. As they finally came to a narrow, little street, Vincent felt relieved. All the sunshine and bird noises was making his head spin. He didn't like being outside like this at all and was dying to get underground.

The street was empty, but Vincent didn't really find it all that strange. Humans never really came here, as there was nothing but abandoned apartment complexes and a few unused cars standing on either side of the small road.

In the middle there was a small, rust colored manhole cover, looking inconspicuous and identical to all the other manholes found around the city. Vincent walked over to it, motioning for Ase to follow him.

He crouched down, looking around quickly to see if anyone was watching them, and proceeded to press down on the different markings on the metal cover.

Every supernatural creature knew the pressure points to the market doors by heart, and Vincent was no different. After a minute, he stood back up, smirking and watched the cover sink down into the ground and then slide out of the way, revealing a long, spiraling staircase heading down into the darkness. Vincent gestured to the stairs and gave Ase one of his signature grins.

"Ladies first!"

Ase made her way down the stair case humming as she went. When Ase reached the bottom of the stair case she smiled "so Vincent how long do you think we'll be here for"

"We'll be here as longs a necessary." He told her with a pointed look and a dimpled smile. He passed her and walked through the darkness, coming to a halt at a big, sturdy steel door. He quickly knocked seven times, hard, and waited, staring at it.

After a few seconds, a small, square hole appeared in the middle of the door and two yellow eyes looked out at them, filled with suspicion. "State your business. Make it quick!" A dark, raspy voice snapped, making Vincent chuckle under his breath. He stood up straight and locked his red eyes with the yellow ones.

"Vincent Buckley, demon, manager of Magic Brew Cafè, here to buy supplies and stock up on food." He said in a sharp voice, motioning for Ase to do the same.

"Ase,angel, assistant manager of Magic Brew Cafe, here to buy supplies and stock up on food.

The eyes disappeared and the hole closed, and for a minute everything was silent, only the occational sounds of water dripping from the ceiling piercing the quiet darkness. Then the door slid open with a loud creak and the sounds from the market blasted their ears.

The man who had been questioning them turned out to be an old goblin and he was currently smiling at them, his razor sharp teeth glinting in the light from a torch hanging to the left of the door.

"Vince, my friend!" He exclaimed, slapping Vincent hard on the shoulder, making him stumble a little. "And the ever so lovely Ase to, I see. Come inside, come inside, I'm sorry about the rude welcome, but one can't be to careful these days, you know? What with all the talk of Hunter killings and all."

Vincent allowed himself to be dragged inside along with Ase, laughing at the old door-keepers antics. "Oh, I understand completely, Mr. Saltwick." He told him, looking around.

He hadn't been here in ages, he mused as he studied the familiar market place. It wasn't very big, but there were stands of all sorts of merchandise everywhere, their keepers shouting this way and that, fighting over the attention of the potential customers. People were carefully making their way through the narrow paths between the stands, buying and inspecting, and to his left, a fight had broken out over something or another.

He heard the big door behind him slam shut, and he turned to face his assistant manager. "Okay, we can do this one of two ways," He said in a business like tone, "We can either spilt up and look for the merchandise that way, or we can stay together. I brought two lists just in case."

"we should go together" Ase replied looking at all the different stalls "i have a bad habit of buying stuff that's not on the list"

"I see." Vincent tutted, and began heading for the nearest stand, fishing the list out of his pocket as he did so. "Let's see... Mulberries, blood-powder, cobra eggs..." He read out loud, letting Ase know the first few items on the list. "Ah look, they have toad warts! We need some of that too, would you mind picking out a bag of those?" Vincent asked as he continued inspecting the wares, humming quietly to himself.

"you'd never find these in heaven!" Ase said as she picked the bag of toad warts and paid for them. "four years and i'm still not fond of these ingredients." Ase sighed as she handed the bag over to Vincent.

Vincent, who had bought a large basket, grinned at her and dropped the bag into it. "That's because it's not for you, you silly girl. It's for the witches!" He laughed, poking her cheek playfully. He looked down at his list again. "Hm, you should like this, we need three bottles of that special wine you like so much, Seera told me the bottles we had stored 'mysteriously' disappeared a week ago. You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you?" He asked with a smirk, handing the orc behind the counter some coins and picking up three jars of slimy snake eggs.

"i have no idea what your talking about" she giggled as she purchased four bottles of wine. Ase placed the wine in the basket and strolled over to the next stall.

Hatchiin and Craig walked in early. Hatchiin had a horrfied expression on her face, so did Craig when he took off his gear. The two sat next to Seera.

"Just calm down, Hatch. It-it'll be okay." Craig said, his voice was a little shaky.

"It was a fucking kid, man! He was like twelve!" Hatchiin snapped, her voice also shakey.

Vincent rolled his eyes and followed her, intent on getting the shopping done. He put on his war face and began reading off the list intently.

(This part picks up after they are done shopping. I hope that's okay with you.)

"Ah," Vincent sighed as the pair exited the large door and stepped into the sewers. "We actually managed to get everything!" He said excitedly, swinging his two shopping bags back and forth. They had even managed to find soul residue. His coffee addiction was saved! As he began walking up the staircase he asked, "Did you find something for yourself, Ase?"

"Yeah..." Hatchiin answered. "We uh..ran one over...we didn't mean to..."

"Well, what was I supposed to do? Kindly ask him to stop attacking my car?! We had to get out of there somehow." Craig said look over to Hatchiin.

"I know...but he was just a kid...it's sad to watch a kid die, it's just uncomfortable to think about."

"I don't like it anymore than you, but it's just how things are sometimes..." Craig sighed and leaned back in his seat.

"No i don't really like the stuff they sell down there" she sighed "i'll get something next time i'm in heaven" Ase stepped out of the ally and into the street it was filled with humans at this time.

(Shit's about to go doooown)

Vincent stiffened as he stepped out of the manhole. There were humans, at least ten of them all looking at the two of them with hot, unyielding hate in their eyes. Looking at their weapons, Vincent could tell they were monster hunters. He dropped his bags and pushed Ase behind him, kicking himself for not being more careful. "Ase," He whispered harshly, keeping an eye on each and every one of the hunters. They were surrounded. "Ase, I want you to fly back to the Cafè." His voice was steady, but there was a touch of panic underlying it.

One of the hunters smirked, and Vincent let his disguise drop. Red horns grew out of his forehead and his eyes darkened to black.

"Besides, he was a hunter...if they can't see that we deserve rights, too then they're not worth grieving..." Craig said looking up at the ceiling.

"Are you heartless?!" Hatchiin asked in an angry tone.

"No, I see the world how it should be seen. Everyone's equal, At the end of the day we're all the same. Wouldn't you agree?" He asked looking over to Seera.

"Yes, I suppose we are." Seera sighed again, and got up. She dug through the wine in the cabinets, and pulled out a bottle. She picked up a glass from the place where she had been sitting, and poured herself a glass. She corked the stuff, and set it back in its original place, then sat back down, sipping the dark red liquid. "Dammed kids though, going out and getting themselves killed. I had to kill one last night, but he was around 14, and with a group."
