dragons have been around further back than any written language. beasts of
greatness, hoarders of all things fine, temperaments so ferocious that even the
worst of men are rarely compared to them. with time the world’s view of them
shifted, although there was always a sense of wary awe when it came to them,
even in conversation. they started as monsters of destruction, ruining fields of
crops, ransacking towns and cities for their enjoyment. in the next era, man
began to bond with those great beasts until riders filled the airs, won battles,
and changed the tides in wars. nowadays dragons and their riders are a rare
breed, with dragons slowly being wiped away. there are those who would rather
see a dragon dead than at their backs, putting them down before they could
even hatch.

that is where you come in. throughout your lineage there is a staggered history
of great riders, tracing all the way back to the first trio of riders. it is in your
blood, in your very being to be amongst the clouds and at your dragon’s side,
but that’s the catch isn’t it? there are no dragons left, not really. some whisper
of ancient, slumbering beasts best left to lie, others say that eggs will wait until
their rider comes along before they hatch. the wisest of folk will tell you to keep
your nose out of such trouble, lest it come looking for you.

one inquiry was all it took before a small group of men and women nab you
outside of the city’s walls to ask what you know of dragons. among them they
hide a dragoness, one of the last of her kind who can shape their bodies to fit
their needs. the group had existed long before her arrival, but with their
unknowing help she has found you, a dragonless rider that can help her fulfill
a prophecy laid out before your lives were even mere thoughts.

stories have it where a prince and princess are to be wed to bring their
kingdoms together for the greater good of their people, and everyone
has a happily ever after. well, that’s what the stories say. even knowing
that her luck might not be so grand, muse A knew from a young age she
was to be wed off and was determined to find, or at least create, love.

muse b has been training to be a warrior from a young age, leaving the
scholarly and political parts to his siblings. he’d never been interested,
anyways, always having been fascinated with the men and women who
fought and protected his father, the king. unbeknownst to him until
weeks beforehand, he was to be wed to strengthen ties between his
kingdom and hers. something about trade routes and goods, the barest
hint of what might await him.

behind closed doors and away from listening ears, secret meetings
were held. the two were to be be sent to muse a’s summer home for the
season for the two to acclimate to each other, but moreso to keep them
out of trouble and away from their plotting, scheming families whose
intentions were far from kind.

what they’re plotting is up to us.
slow burn, angst, romance, all the tropes.

we know the story of fallout 4, following nora or nate through the wastes
in search of their son, changing the world as they go. what if they.. didn’t ?
charlotte had emerged from the vault a broken woman with the intention
of finding her son. after finding codsworth & meeting garvey and his ragtag
group, uncertainty began to sink in. was it worth chasing after her son, who
could be dead or worse by this point ? keeping her past a heavily guarded
secret, she’s devoted her life into fixing up sanctuary and rebuilding the
minutemen, working for the little guys.

i am interested in having her exist in our world and introducing someone
new to take on the role as sole survivor, to follow the story and having
shaun’s existence be a wonderful (and angsty!) surprise. i was never in love
with that plot idea and i would love to have charlotte be someone’s
companion as they take on the wastes.
