  • Imma gonna start making daily status updates explaining my GIFs and what emotion they are associated with. Then I´ll probably make a compendium. So, three a day or so.
It´s a problem that so many RPs carry false promises because people don´t bother planning. I sigh most times I read "character driven" because that typically means "I have no idea what to even do for a plot". Or when someone says "I want romance, but the characters need to fall in love over time" and it means "I want to start out by being an asshole to your character, then spontaneously fall in love...just not in the first couple posts." Fandoms often lack the knowledge about the basic details of the universe the fandom takes place in works! It´s frustrating.

Maybe I´m just too controlling, I mean, when I asked around, nobody really liked planning like I do.... but at the same time, isn´t it much better to reap great rewards from a little work than to just go on a whim and have half your RPs just be boring or crappy? Maybe I´m misinterpreting things, again... maybe that latter statement isn´t really anyone´s experience. Maybe I´m preaching to fish here...

But you know what? I feel this must be said. Because a hobby doesn´t need to be taken seriously. But a good hobby? That should.

I don't know if it's just the players on this website but so far it seems like people really hate to contribute to a plot (even their own plots) or to help carry the story along by actually giving you something to do in their posts. Makes roleplaying very frustrating.

As a person who for various reasons has grown used to being in like 20 RPs at once, I know it can very difficult at certain points to come up with fresh ideas or ideas you find good enough to get into a post. Other people have insecurities, lack of time, etc... or you know, are just plane unimaginative or something similar.

That´s not a bad thing, really at least not from my perspective. However, I think the very serious problem you bring up @[35356:@Strawberry Ink] is but the tip of the iceberg of the bigger problem of roleplaying being taken too lightly. Not as in it should be made professionally, obviously it´s a hobby, an outlet, among many other uses people give it that can be summed up as "they want to enjoy themselves". But rather, I think the bigger problems are carried from the lack of investment and commitment that roleplaying receives, the impulsiveness of it, the "we´ll go just go along and see how this turns out" or the "I feel like it/don't feel like it" mentality, the treating of the roleplays like a young kid treating a random toy, just using it for a couple days, then getting tired of it and moving on to the next because it was just superficially fascinating. Roleplays always get better when there is more depth to them, and that is for a reason.
To everyone working/rolepalying with me, I just wanna make the quick announcement that I don't know how available I'll be over he next week... I have no idea what my parents will do when they see my test , but if their typical complaints have anything to say, their first aim will be against my laptop... I apologize in advance for the inconvenience, I couldn't have predicted something like this would happen....

I haven't left yet, just giving everyone I can a fair warning.

I'd also like to request that my followers, if they know anyone who is roleplaying with me but doesn't follow me, spread the word.

thank you all, and once again, I apologize .

You might want to tell this to everyone in the Magical Girl roleplay too, considering people are waiting on when you'll be ready to start it up and may or may not be following you at the same time.
Is it rude to PM someone a raw RP idea and just run away?

    Just asking.

hmmm.... I don´t think this would work. It seems like an amazingly entertaining idea, but even if you don´t account the failure multifandoms are in general, the idea is still too chaotic to be functional or really that entertaining without a whole dose of frustration which would cut the entertainment regardless. Conflicts among players will be easy to escalate making the thread more of a battlefield for flaming than anything.

Or at least, that´s the perspective of an orderly guy like me.

I would recommend turning this into a quest RP. Use the very same idea but don´t give player the possibility to take action themselves, only to vote for a certain action or event. That way, people will not feel like they're warring against each other in an unfair battlefield, but will field that it is instead a challenging journey to get to an ultimate prize.
