  • I don´t believe a character of mine is being rejected just because that character happens to be a living weapon.

I'd argue that while the concept is pretty cool and rarely used, executing it in long-terms can be a bit of a drag.

How would it be able to do stuff? If if is dependant on other characters, then either you are using two characters (which may break character limit/participant if the rp has one), or relying on other players, who may or may not stick around.

And in case it can somehow act on its own, a lot of rules that can apply to other players may not work on a magical construct. It can't be incapacitated, wounded, or suffer death in the same manner.

All in all, awesome concept but difficult to pull off.

And the GM was both lazy and/or mean to just scoff at it without breaking down what issues there can be with it.

A fine point, and ones I did consider in the design of the character.  I gave him a heavy a focus on reminiscing  and a long age, two traits that could be used to have something to do even if no one was around. However, this was an emergency out, whenever I do a character like this I always make sure I have a pre-established partner who will at least normally, have my character around.

This character is capable of speech, and thought and some exhibition of power. This seems to me like enough self action, he simply can´t move on his own to which I already had two good solutions, not to mention anything I could come up with. (also he could control the arm that wielded him to an extent.

@Idea Sentinel was probably saying that a GM might not take kindly to characters that don't at least have a humanoid appearance. I've seen a lot of GMs that don't seem to be able to think of creative possibilities on their own, but refuse to compensate by discussing with the owners of said creative ideas. I've had a few characters and plot ideas rejected by such GMs when they refused to listen to my explanations and blocked me.
arguing is always worth it, so long as at least one member is taking the matter at hand and the discussion itself in a serious and professional manner. This way, if either the other party or anyone who sees the discussion sees their arguing, they might come to take the issue under deeper consideration themselves and potentially, through that, improve their lives. That is the entire point of ever arguing, of ever criticizing. Winning an argument is never the point, the point is coming closer to one unchangeable truth, objective and thus not swayed by opinion and in doing so, know more about how to make our lives and potentially the world, better.
I heard that after the update, it will no longer be possible to have Gifs as profile pics. So, this week and the following, I will making rounds switching. First, I´ll do a few days of Yoshino, one of my favorite characters, then I´ll make a full day-to-day reboot of all my previous gif profile pics. Enjoy!
Do you mind if I ask where that icon is from as the sword wielding cat constantly intrigues me
I believe that human beings are inherently altruistic. In the deepest root, we do things not out of self interest , but in the interest of the community. When we do do something selfish , it is because we identify ourselves and our surroundings as also being part of said community. This identification , combined with my proposal that we do evil out of ignorance not out of a particular intention or inclination towards evil, justifies why we would actions that might seem selfish, while also justifying why we can feel compassion to things that have no relation or even a negative relation to ourselves, feeling which due to preceding identification cannot be predicated by it.
I loved this quote so much I just have to put it here. Don´t necessarily agree with it, but it´s amazing:

Great. Just what I needed. At just about the worst possible day, my computer decides it's time to die.

that´s a very hard question to answer...

I guess I´d have to say "yobanashi deceive" if I was really pressed?
I am really proud of some characters I make, in fact, I am really proud of most I make. I do take my time refining them, giving them a sense of depth and uniqueness. Unfortunately, it hardly ever pays out. What I have in dedication to assure myself of quality I lack in the consistency of presence/activity and in the ability to make people move. If that makes any sense.

On the bright side: My headache is gone! Time for posting!
If you are running anything, be it an RP, a business, a group for a school project, anything, remember that if you want peace and the good of the people in it, telling them to stop fighting instead of trying to find a solution to the fight´s subject is merely gonna make all sides frustrated. The problem will become a rotten apple in the basket, tearing away at the rest until it all falls apart. But a solving a problem unifies people, even just reaching an agreement makes people happier than they would otherwise be. Instead of indignation one gets respect.

    But alas...

In this world, people have forgotten that trying to solve an issue is better than just trying to shut people up.
If I was asked if I ever re-use characters, my mind would immediately jump to my child and animal characters. Then I would recall that those archetypes and even among those, there is plenty of variety in my character crafting, so the character I most re-used would be Kneckt, LawNeck and the ones from Hell City. The last two were because of reboots.
Oh God the latest Konosuba episode, wow! I´m laughing my ass off, I cant stop, hahahha!
So I looked up some dog personality traits over a character I´m making, and it turns out there are these charts that claim dog people and cat people bear certain personality traits depending on which pet they favor. And boy are they wrong. Just my existence alone would prove it, since their tests would identify me as a cat person which I ain´t. I am a dog person.

I literally can't choose between cats and dogs. 3 times in the past year people have tried to get me to choose but I still can't.
