Another figure appeared at the top of the hill, the darkening clouds overhead shadowing their features. For a brief moment, Robin couldn't quite make her out, and knowing what kinds of people were after him, he had no reason not to fear the worst. Dread tightened like a noose around his throat--

But from one instant to the next, it dawned on him that yet another stroke of luck had happened across him and Inari. Dr. Franklin's face was one he'd recognize anywhere, and there was just about nobody else he'd rather see right now. How did she even find them? Did she know what was going on, or...? Robin knew better than to start with the questions now. He didn't want the answers anyway; he just wanted this all to stop. Maybe, what with the rain and all, she wouldn't have noticed the tears sliding down the sides of his paling face. Robin wasn't usually too prone to crying, especially compared to his more fragile companions like Ember. Actually, he kind of prided himself on being too mature for that, even though it had less to do with maturity and more to do with having different ways of expressing his emotional vulnerability.

Dr. Franklin reached out a hand, ushering Robin out of the way with a reassuring smile. Robin narrowed his eyes doubtfully, not really wanting to step away from Inari when she was like this, but did as told. He didn't allow the doctor to touch him too much; though he was clearly still very unsteady on his feet, he wasn't about to allow himself just take assistance.Dr. Franklin aimed a small projectile weapon at the older of the two, who fell to the ground, briefly sedated. Hopefully, this would give Inari's brain some time to recover from the overload. With that, the three headed back into the barn. The whole short distance, Robin seemed deeply uneasy. Obviously, in the literal sense he was staggering and slightly leaning into Dr. Franlin's side for support, lightheaded with fatigue, but he was also constantly glancing back behind them, staying close to his small group as he obsessively scanned the terrain like a spooked deer. The soldiers... they could be anywhere; spot them at any moment. Robin wasn't aware of the fact that they'd mostly been incapacitated by the noise and a few lay dead around the grounds. That whole time he'd been running for his life.

They had a few moments to settle in, Robin weakly sitting back in the corner while Dr. Franklin revived Inari with a bottle of something so acrid-smelling that Robin. across the room, wrinkled his nose in disgust. He reached up to push his rain-drenched blond locks out of his eyes, shivering a bit as he warily watched the door. It didn't do much for his agitated state of mind that the first person into the barn after them was Stryker. Robin was still... a bit bitter over their last interaction, to put it as lightly as possible. Even as the others started filing back into the barn, Robin couldn't help but feel sickeningly reminded of the last time they'd all been called in here, and the situation that still stood.

Inari watched as others walked into the barn. Beca was still a tiger and Jay seemed... pretty bloody and tired looking. Stryker had come in first, but she couldn't really tell how he was doing. She frowned a bit when she didn't see neither Scarlet or Ember trail in after the little group, and she hoped they were alright.

She tuned down her hearing a bit more, still paranoid of something happening again. Inari knew nothing would occur, but she couldn't help it. She watched as Beca "hugged" Dr. Franklin and smiled a bit before looking down at the ground and dragging a little piece of hay across the barn floor. She wanted to cry, or sleep, but no more tears would come and she didn't think sleep would come very easily, either. Inari wondered where they could go from here... She didn't even know what else was in the world, besides this once lovely farmhouse and wherever the facility was. The idea of being able to see new places stirred up a little excitement in her, but it was drowned out quickly by the fogginess she was feeling.

Inari hoped she'd get to stay with everyone, where ever they went.

After briefly checking up on robin while while hugging Inari Dr.Franklin turned to see a bloodspattered but very familiar tiger lunge at her. She hugged her massive kitten tightly. Yet while being affectionate she snuck her fingers around the knife and yanked it out quickly, like pulling off a bandaid. Afterwards she distanced herself and took off both her backpack and lab coat, "Dont you let that get infected Beca." she said in a stern but sweet voice as she draped her lab coat over her shoulders and made her way over to jay with her backpack in tote. On her way she addressed the soldier from the facility. "Ember and Scarlet are missing but the soldiers didn't take them in the retreat, that means ember is probably hiding and scarlet went after her. Can you find them?" she gestured to beca with her eyes pointing out why she had chosen him for the task. Finally she made it Jay. "Lie down on that bench Hon, Shirt off, you've lost a lot of blood Jay and im not gonna lie it doesn't look good. We need to work fast so save your questions for when im done." she smiled a bit despite the dire situation. "You have all been very brave these past couple of days, i am so proud of you all. I promise this will make a lot more sense soon, Now who wants to be my nurse?" she added in a cheerful voice.

James W. Stryker

He was kind of in a trance again for the third time today when the doctor spoke to him. All He heard was "can you find them?" then noticed her eye signals to beca whom he just realized was not wearing clothes in her tiger form which likely meant she wouldn't have them when she shifted back. Nodding he went out after the kids. Even though his mind was else where he was able to autopilot to where Mrs.Dempsey and the Girls had been. Though small the girls tracks were still in the mud and he was able to follow them into the woods. In his head he went over the past couple of minutes, but his mind trailed off to when he first met Alvin in the Us military. They had both been selected for the hit squad that was to bring down the soviet leadership in response to their nuclear assault on the States. Even then he was an old hardass, but driven by the deaths of 30 million americans. If any man had come close to scaring James it was him. Yet here he was, now the last member of that squad. He had officially outlasted them all, and part of him couldnt help but feel guilty. What made him worthy to live? Of all the bullets and rockets that had been aimed at him, why did he emerge unscathed each time, each time someone else fell in his place. First was His father, now Alvin. Was he cursed to fight like this forever? When would his end come so he could join the brothers and foes who had been taken in his place. Already his dreams show thousands that stand waiting for him in the afterlife. The worst part, they do not wait in anger ,they wait with open arms, they call him brother...

He was snapped out of daydreams by the sight of a dimming glow. A small blaze that was quickly being snuffed out by the heavy rain which continued falling. Picking up his pace he nearly plowed over the girls. He wasted no time letting the rifle hang from the strap and he pulled a pancho from the bag handing it to scarlet. After scooping his backpack back up he wrapped the little girl in his jacket then scooped her up and drew his sidearm letting it hang in his hand in case an issue arose. "Don't run off again princess, you wouldn't want to miss the adventure." he said quietly in embers ear before turning to Scarlet. "Lets move, Your older brother is not doing so well, Dr. Franklin is working on him now but we cant stay here long the farms been compromised."

Inari winced in sympathy when the doctor yanked a knife out of Beca, but she knew she was just trying to help. She was relieved to hear the two younger girls weren't taken away by the agents, but was still uneasy with the idea of Stryker going to find them. No, he's helped everyone so much already, they'll be okay. The man seemed strangely out of it until Franklin addressed him, at which point he simply nodded and left the barn. Inari watched as Dr. Franklin gestured for Jay to sit down so she could treat him, perking up a bit when she asked if anyone wanted to help.

She carefully stood up so as to not worsen her headache and walked over to them, wanting to help to make up for how useless she felt she was during the whole ordeal. Besides, she cared about Jay, and if helping out made him get better sooner she'd happily take that opportunity. It was a little gross to see him covered in so much blood, but it more so made her sad rather than disgusted. Angry, too, at whoever did this to her "brother."

Watching Beca hug Dr. Franklin was a welcome sight, one that bought an almost dopey smile to Jay's face. He didn't understand why he felt so tired, sluggish, the exact opposite of his speed. He swayed a little on his feet, exhaustion starting to overwhelm him, though he still had no idea why. He didn't usually feel so slow after running. He was assuming the red on him was from the people Beca had killed near to him, and it was only when Dr. Franklin started to speak to him that he realised. It wasn't all from the agents. Some of it was his. He tilted his head, peering around to try and work out what could possibly be causing blood loss, but couldn't see.

Instead of arguing, he wobbled to the bench obediently, ignoring the fact that Stryker had left to find Ember and Scarlet. He was sure they'd be okay. At least everyone seemed to be okay so far. Alive at least. Except... Except Alvin. Carefully, he laid down, staying remarkably still. Jay was always moving, always tapping his fingers at least, but currently they didn't move at all. At least, when laying down, the dizzy feeling faded, though he felt all the more tired for it.

Still, Dr. Franklins kind tone and soft smile kept him from panicking himself, and he tilted his head as Inari walked over. Oh, she was okay. That was good. He gave her a tired smile, deciding that closing his eyes sounded like a good plan, " 's everyone okay?" He suddenly asked, voice soft as if he wasn't planning on staying awake.

Stryker left just about as soon as he'd arrived, heading out to hunt down Scarlet and Ember, it had only just occured to Robin that they weren't there. Ember often ran away when things got too stressful, but Scarlet? That wasn't like her at all, and he doubted she would be procrastinating in a situation like this, so why wasn't she here? Robin's stomach twisted in knots, suddenly imagining that she could be somewhere in the smoldering ruins of the house, or cold and stiff out on the fields...

As those thoughts ran through his head, he couldn't help but notice Beca's blood-encrusted fur, still oozing down her left side from a freshly reopened wound... The stained knife in Dr. Franklin's hand that she'd just pried out of Beca's flesh.. Just about as soon as he saw it, he caught on to the dull, rusty odor permeating the room. He glanced to the right, getting a good look at Jay for the first time. For once, Robin wasn't the palest in the room. Jay almost resembled a corpse, stumbling over to the bench as even more blood soaked through his shirt. There was blood on his hands, on the floor, on Beca, on Frankin...

All at once, he felt like he wasn't even looking at his firiends anymore. He was in a room full of corpses.

With a stifled choke, Robin hurriedly stood up from the corner of the room he'd been huddled in, stiffly walking back towards the door, one hand held up by his mouth. "I-I'm gonna be out a minute..." he forced out, his accented voice strained to a lower pitch.

Ember couldn't understand what was happening around her. She was being moved, but by who.... or why..... She heard a soft but strong voice in her ear, and while it was strangely familiar, she couldn't remember who it was, or understand what it said. Then she was warm. Something rough but warm shielded her body from the elements, and if Ember could have any control over her little body, she might've smiled.

She felt herself come out of the rain, and was aware of other voices around her.

But everything was wrong... she was burning hot, but freezing cold. Everything hurt, and her thoughts tore at her.

Ember whimpered in her sleep, crying, trying fruitlessly to fight off her demons. In her sleep she was unable to defend herself.

We'll never leave.

Grave had made it some ways to the farm, having arrived at one of the large Humvees that they had left when beginning the assault. He leaned up against the hood, waiting as his hearing was coming back to him. After a few moments it was all back to normal - the sounds of the world entered his senses once more. His regenerative capabilities were incredibly useful, for not just wounds, but recovering from blindness and ear damage. Even though the mission was a failure, not a grain of confidence had left his mind. There were still many chances to get the children back, and he planned to take every one of them, especially now that - hopefully - the director of the following attempts was more competent. After a few moments he moved from leaning on the hood over to the driver's door of the Humvee, grabbing hold of the handle and opening it, before sitting down and closing it behind him. In the backseat sat a single agent, remaining silent. At this point they were either deaf or still in pain, and as such, Grave didn't expect to make any small talk with them. He put a key into the ignition of the Humvee, starting the vehicle up and moving onto the main road. He was aware that the blockades were still up, but he'd call in to have them dealt with, he couldn't waste time now.

As he drove at a steady pace, Grave's fingers fished in his pockets, grabbing ahold of a phone. After a few moments, Grave had started a call with the boss, placing the phone next to his ear and listening to the distinct ringing noises. Grave didn't feel concerned about how he would react, after all, he had said himself that the mission was a failure at the start. The empty road was a bit eerie, there was nothing in sight. All those fine men and women, killed. To be perfectly honest, he didn't expect them to be so lethal, and believed that the extraction would be peaceful for the most part. Obviously, Grave was wrong. He sighed, waiting for the boss to pick up the phone.

Scarlet struggled against the flames, sure, if she just brought the girl closer this would all be over in an instant, but she hardly trusted Ember not to scorch her in the process. A respite came, however, as the rain began to pour furiously, dousing move of the flames. Finally, as she seemed safe, Scarlet fell on her backside, letting out a short sigh, just how would she get the child back?

The girl's train of thought was cut off as Stryker approached, she almost froze from the sound of his footsteps, only imagining what he could be here to do considering her previous outburst at Beca. Yet as he handed her the poncho, and scooped Ember up, she knew he hadn't realised it yet. Scarlet calmed herself, her expression once more turning deadpan, as she looked over at him as he spoke to Ember. As he turned toward Scarlet and began to talk however, her face turned to a scowl, eyes narrowing at the old man.

"My brother is dead, I don't care what happens to that fool." She stated crudely, chucking the poncho back toward the man before storming off toward the barn. Perhaps it was a lie that she did not care if Jay survived, yet to call him her brother only brought memories of her own, of the only person she had ever been close to, or trusted. Scarlet stopped not far from the two of them however, yelling something back. "And tell that little brat Ember to think of someone else, for once!" Anger was clear in her voice as she turned around to continue toward the barn.

Arctic polar region- Hidden base.

Though a vast distance the flight had only lasted about fifteen minutes. He stood at the doorway waiting for the call he knew would come. Sure enough after a second or two his phone rang and he smiled answering the phone as he willed the doors open and walked through. The ancient building needed very little remodeling to accommodate himself and the soon to be gods of the new world. It was why he chose it. The lights came on as he walked down the hallway. "I take it your done there correct? Excellent. Meet in denver with the others. I have a feeling the children will soon be there..."his tone said he held some kind of information but as per usual he mentioned nothing. "Someone is helping them and i wish to know who. Follow them to wherever they go." he said with a sinister grin. "I will meet you face to face when the time is right."

Rosalind Put on a pair of rubber gloves and covered her face with a paper mask. She then held out her hand asking for the alcohol, a scalpel, forceps, needle and thread, and gauze. She set it all up on a tray and handed it to Inari. When jay spoke dr.franklin patted him on the shoulder. "You worry about yourself big guy. Stay still okay?" she began the procedure without a second thought. her hands deftly moving across his wound after a few moments of work that would be hard to see due to her leaning over the work sight she let out a huff of victory and deposited the bullet into the surgical tray with a clatter. Just as Scarlet. Walked in with stryker shortly behind her saying something about enemies.

James W. Stryker

Stryker said nothing when Scarlet chunked the pancho at him he simply caught the garment with his pistol hand and draped it over Ember. He followed behind her as they began heading to the barn. "First off you are lying to yourself saying you don't care, secondly it couldn't hurt to lead her by example. So far all you've done since you've been here is be rude and challenge everything. I am not your enemy, Em and the others aren't your enemies, you are." the last sentence would probably have been heard by a few in the barn but he quickly moved on setting ember in the stall beside where jay was being operated on. "Im gonna go..." he started but trailed off as he grabbed a shovel. "It might take me an hour or two in this rain, but we leave when i get back. I assume you know somewhere we can go doctor?" he didn't wait for the answer as he began heading for the still smouldering farmhouse to find and bury his friend.

Mrs.Dempsey
Dempsey farm-Barn

She hadn't been sitting there for two minutes before the old woman fell asleep. Her breathing was even and she didn't make a noise so one would hardly have noticed her if not for the occasional shift. Sure she was roughed up, exhausted , and a bit stunned but the woman was a fighter and after a good rest would likely be back to tip top shape.

Inari helped Dr. Franklin as needed, though arguably it was the older woman doing all the work. Still, she'd always wanted to be a nurse or a doctor, even if her powers were more geared towards spy work. She liked the idea of helping people and making them feel better, rather than tearing them down. She tried not to look at Jay's injuries too much- she didn't like to see him so bloody, but at least they were getting taken care of now.

Even with her hearing pretty dulled, Inari still heard Scarlet yelling and Stryker retaliating, before they both walked in with Ember in tow. Scarlet looked pissed, and Ember wasn't looking the greatest, but Stryker left before she could really tell how he was. Not well, she assumed. Inari still found it a bit difficult to trust Stryker, and a part of her was actually uneasy about Dr. Franklin after hearing the stuff Stryker told them earlier. God, it felt like those moments happened hours ago, but it couldn't have been that long...

She wondered where they'd go after this. In all honesty, Inari just wanted to lie down and sleep away this throbbing headache and clear the fog over her mind, but she knew that couldn't happen. Not for awhile, anyway.

kat_by_raichiyo33-dahfb17.jpgBeca couldn't help but growl when Dr.Franklin tore the knife from her side, but she was relived as well, and immediately wandered deeper into the barn. After a few minutes of wandering, she but a stroke of luck of finding a large blanket and a secluded area hidden from the others where she could shift back. Yet again, a short painful process of bones breaking, and reforming, and the headache that followed her skull changing shape. But, after a minute or two, Beca was back on to feet. Her hair, down and tangled, blood still stained her, but less evident, and any injury she had suffered within the last hour or two, was gone. Including the burns by Ember. Standing, after the shaking had stopped, Beca wrapped the blanket around herself, and rejoined the others.

However she remained silent, watching the others until her eyes fell upon Ember. Slowly walking over, Beca took a seat next to her, rel8ved that the boys could hardly see her, and that ember was okay. For a long while, she said nothing, just thinking. Beca had killed today, for the first time. Well, intentionally at least. And she was almost positive that everyone had witnessed it, but...the teen sighed, tired and starving, she looked to Ember. She was having trouble sleeping, Beca could tell. But a sudden wave of exhaustion washed over the older teen, so be a leaned her head back and closed her eyes.

Jay whined softly as Dr. Franklin told him to worry about himself. But he was more concerned about the others, as always. He didn’t even know how he was hurt, he just knew he was. At least he hadn’t had to bother taking his shirt off over his head, since it had been burnt to a crisp. At least his trousers had faired a little better, since he’d kept reaching to pat the fire out there but hadn’t been able to reach the back of his shirt, hence why it was gone.

At least he couldn’t feel whatever she was doing. But, the entire setup of an operation make him nervous, even if he had no idea where he was hurt. He just wanted to sleep, so he decided to close his eyes for a moment or two, only peeking when he heard a metallic clank. A bullet. He’d been shot. Oh... Well, now he was definately glad he couldn’t feel it. Knowing that now, he closed his eyes again. A nap kinda sounded good right now.

Scarlet simply scoffed at Strykers words. How could he claim not to be their enemy after taking them away from their home? "Says the kidnapper." She simply mumbled under her breath, folding her arms as she did so, trying to drain the emotion from her face yet a pout still remained. As they entered the barn Scarlet was drenched, slightly shivering, though it was clear she tried to hide it. "Maybe I should have kept the coat..." She thought to herself, trying to part the hair that now shambled over her face.

Scarlet's eyes darted from Beca to Jay, if not for them they might have had a chance. She mulled over it for a short while, she had no idea just how severe Jay's wounds were, if not for Dr. Franklin... Wait!? What was she doing here? Scarlet's eyes seemed to beam toward the woman, staring at her in disbelief. Had she turned against Seraphim too? Maybe that's how Stryker was able to get them out, was this planned long before? If what Stryker had said was true, then it couldn't be possible, though Scarlet doubted his word regardless. She couldn't help but watch the woman, she was almost like a mother to some of them, and while she was always kind, in Scarlet's view she wasn't much better than any of the others that cared for them. Scarlet was eager to find out just what was going on, but refrained to simply mull in silence, her mind filled with thoughts of Seraphim and their recent attack.

Robin ran out just a few moments before Stryker and Scarlet returned, sinking to his knees in the wet grass outside the barn. The smell of blood... it wouldn't leave; it was stuck in the back of his throat, tinging his mouth and nose with a metallic, biting odor. The panic-stricken tween dug his teeth into his knuckles, in a futile attempt to force his throat to stop bringing up the taste of bilic acid...

Back out in the cold April rain, it was almost impossible to tell that it was still daylight. It fell in icy sheets, obscuring everything more than a few feet away into a foggy blur. Robin pulled himself back upright, his pale cybernetic hand gingerly wiping off the side of his mouth.

He didn't mind the rain anymore... really, he was almost thankful for it. He breathed out, then back in again. He couldn't smell blood anymore, at least, though it's replacement was hardly an improvement. Everything had fallen apart so fast, getting caught in a tug-of-war between the government who had stolen him to use as a scientific guinea pig, and some vigilante soldier with his own dubious motives. He had nothing to gain from either side, but his "family", the other subjects... didn't they matter? Some of them could be dead or dying back there in the barn, the first casualties of this stupid, selfish feud. His 11 years of life experience hadn't prepared him for trying to decide how best to avenge his dead friends... what would they even want?! We're they even dead right now? Did it matter!? if they didn't die now, Stryker planned to use them as weapons against their abductors, or else let one side or the other end their lives...

For the first time, he looked down at his cybernetic hands in disgust. His cold blue eyes studied the fresh bite marks on his knuckles with an icy glare, but that was hardly the most bothersome aspect. His hands were tied.

Ember struggled in her sleep, fighting off her nightmares.

She was surrounded on all sides. Everyone she had hurt or killed with her flames were getting back at her now, burning her to death, Beca included. But worst of all, Scarlet stood above everyone else, cackling evilly. "Watch the bastard burn! BURN! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!" Eventually, Ember just gave up, using her own powers to finish the job. Turned to ash.....

Ember gasped, waking up. She was so hot..... she put her hands, now cold, up to her overheated face. It felt kind of nice. Her vision was blurred, she could just vaguely see and hear that people were around her. She began to cry, pathetically.

Grave's finger tapped against the wheel as the phone rang next to his ear, waiting for it to be picked up. When the boss picked up, he just stayed quiet to listen to what he said. After the boss was finished, he responded. "Very well. I'll arrive as soon as I possibly can. Goodbye." Grave hung up the phone, sliding it into his pocket at his side. He thought about what he would do with this agent once he arrived. Grave decided that he would drop the agent off at a hospital on his way there, feeling that it would be the best solution to the situation. After driving for some time, Grave had gotten off on an exit with a decently sized hospital, driving to the main entrance to let the agent get out. He looked into the backseat, nodding at the agent. After a few moments, the agent left the vehicles, going in to enter the hospital. After a bit more driving, Grave was on the main road once more, reading to Denver to meet up.

Inari didn't blame Robin for suddenly dashing out of the cramped space- the air was heavy with the smell of blood which was just amplified by everyone's moods. Ember definitely wasn't looking the greatest, and the older girl supposed she had just woken up from something awful. Tears were streaming down the younger one's cheeks and her face looked red. It sounded like her heart was going a mile a minute, but it was steadying out, slowly but surely. Inari rubbed at her temples and took her attention away from Jay to look at Ember. At least Beca was there with her... she hoped she would be enough. She turned back and let the older girl take care of things.

She glanced down at her wrist and anxiously tapped her foot against the ground, missing the little bit of frayed rope that had always been there. It was dumb to be so attached to something, she knew, but she couldn't help it. Inari still didn't know what to think of her mother, she had tried not to think about her too much back to facility, but now it felt like this was all that consumed her thoughts. How did... did she die? Part of her hoped it was just through an overdose or something, and nothing as sinister as...

Inari quickly tried to cut off that train of thought, but it kept coming back to her. She wondered who her father was, and how he had died. Why would both of her parents just... be dead? She knew everyone else's had passed away too, but most of them had known that already. Then she remembered what Stryker had said about Project Seraphim and this... Project Valkyrie, thing. None of this made sense. She supposed the two were connected in some way- the man did say the heads of research for whatever this Project Valkyrie was were running Project Seraphim... Did the two projects have similar goals in mind? What even was the goal for Project Seraphim? Inari supposed it could've just been created to make her and the others into weapons, but there had to be more to it.

Trust no one, take nothing at face value.

Stryker's words suddenly reappeared in her thoughts. With a nervous glance at the older woman next to her, Inari wondered... Could she still trust Dr. Franklin after everything that had happened?

She could only watch as Ember thrashed around, before she finally woke up and began to cry. Beca being the older sister she was, felt Ember's forehead after seeing the young girl touch her own face. Beca frowned at the results. She was burning up, which concerned Beca, but for now there was little she could do.

"Shhhh, I'm right here princess, everything is okay," Beca said with a soft voice. "You're okay," that was debatable. Beca could easily tell that Ember was still terrified, and more than likely still feeling guilty for what had happened. Never the less, Beca wasn't going anywhere.

The usual 'it's okay, princess' used to make Ember feel better, but not today. "I'm not a princess, Beca..." She mumbled, weakly. Tired tears fell unchecked down her hot face. Ember didn't try to wipe them away. She took a shaky breath, but didn't even try to voice the chaos inside. It would be of no use. She just said, simply, "Princesses don't burn houses down." The cold wind from outside the barn made Ember feel a little cooler, but it couldn't fix the damage Ember had done. Both to the house, and to her own soul.

It was an accident. Reguardless, Beca was silent for a while, thinking. Finally, she cleared her throat, which itched from lack of water, "Houses come and go. Dr.Franklim said it's the memories that last, and you can't do anything to those," She said with soft words. "It was accident, not your fault."

After she had stitched him up dr.franklin began washing her hands and asked inari to pass her the Vitoshot. The strange fluid held a days worth of vitamins and essentials and was widely used when the kids injured themselves to speed up recovery. It wouldnt replace the blood, but it would make sure that the body had what it needed to start doing so on its own. It was a quick prick which jay likely wouldn't even feel. Afterwards she made her way over to Em gesturing for inari to follow.

She managed to catch the tail end of their conversation. "Thats not historically accurate honey, princesses have often caused a lot of trouble. But thats a part of their appeal, despite all the trouble, they are worth it. And i assure you sweetie you are definitely worth it." she put the back of her fingers on her forehead before asking for another vitoshot. She pulled the vial out of the needle gun however and presented it to the little girl. "now drink up unless you want the shot. We cant have you catching a cold." after watching to make sure em drank the serum she turned to beca and smiled. She had spent that past almost 3 days worrying about her and the others. To see that all are alive and together was a huge relief. But there was still a lot of work to do before they were safe.

James W. Stryker

There wasnt much of alvin left for james to recover. He wound up having to settle for a burnt cigar and his sidearm. Which made the burial an easy process at least physically. After the burial he gathered a few intact cans of beans and potted meat. More than enough for the 6 kids himself, the doctor, and mrs dempsey. Though no where near an ideal meal. After a breif but annoying phone call he made his way into the barn and dropped the cans in a pile in the center of the floor setting his knife down to use as a can opener. "Eat, then rest, we are leaving in 5 hours, i got us a flight to London to meet an...Acquaintance. He can keep you all safe at least." he took two cans for himself and went to the radio booth to attempt to find any possible alternative, but he wasn't having any luck, nor did it look like he would.

A little while later, Robin caught caught sight of Stryker returning with a shovel and an armful of cans. Robin reluctantly decided it was time to get back inside, though the remaining nausea made it an unpleasant decision.

He let Stryker go in ahead of him, apprehensively watching him walk back in, listening for just a moment before he followed suit. The small blond seemed haggard and exhausted, wringing his hands as he silently looked around before sitting back down on the floor. He really had nothing to say to anyone right now. He wanted to ask how Jay was, whether or not he was going to pull through his seemingly quite grievous injuries, but he now felt he had reason to be a little nervous around Dr. Franklin. After all, how on earth did she find them here? Why hadn't she come until those other people came? She wasn't... with them, was she? All this information didn't add up.

The scent of blood still lingered in the air around the barn, so the still somewhat ill-looking Robin had very little interest in Stryker's offer of food. That said, he didn't really know when they'd have a chance to eat again. That was a chilling thought... what even was going to happen to them now?

Hearing Dr. Franklin's voice pulled her away from her thoughts, and she fumbled around for the shot she was looking for. Inari had nearly dropped it when she found it, but still managed to hand it over without breaking the thing. She watched to she gave the shot to Jay, before the older woman ushered Inari to follow her over to Ember. She listened to the doctor comfort the little girl, and then she asked for another shot. She's not gonna inject her with it, is she? She was glad she was wrong, the doctor only asking the other girl to drink the contents.

Seeing Dr. Franklin's attention being taken by Beca, Inari gave an awkward little smile before quietly setting the tray down nearby, glancing at the barn doors when Robin and Stryker walked in. Robin seemed... paler than usual, if that was possible. Inari gave both of them a sort of soft look, before she went over and grabbed one of the cans the older man dumped on the floor. Turning it around in her hands, she walked over to Robin and asked gently, "Split it with me? I'm not all that hungry."

Inari wasn't wrong when she said that, it's true she didn't feel like she could eat, but she wanted to make sure Robin got something in him too. She didn't mention he looked like he could puke right about now, not wanting to embarrass him or anything. Mostly though, she just wanted to spend time with him and maybe forget about what happened today.

After drinking the slightly thick and chalky contents of the shot, Ember was still indignant. Everyone had moved on to the next thing already, but Ember still tried to make her point. "Yes it was an accident, but that doesn't mean it's not my fault! It IS my fault! I burnt down the house whether I meant it or not! And Mr. Dempsey's DEAD and it's MY FAULT!" The still weakened but indignant Ember ripped off the bracelet Inari had given her. Slightly aware that she was throwing a childish temper tantrum, but not caring, she continued. "I don't deserve ANYTHING! I don't WANT anything! I want to DIE! I shouldn't go with any of you because I'll just be in the way and I'll hurt ALL of you! Nobody deserves that except ME!" Her wrist hurt and was red where she tore the bracelet off, but she just wrinkled her nose, furiously. She emphasized every word carefully, still yelling in her tiny high pitched voice. "I! AM! BAD!" She turned to storm out of the barn, but found her legs feeling like jelly, and so just sat right back down, angrily.
