kat_by_raichiyo33-dahfb17.jpgEmber was terrified, it was easy to tell. Beca only frowned, "Em, we're gonna be okay, I-"She was stopped as the younger girl pushed passed her and tripped. Next thing she knew, the basement erupted in flames. "Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck!" Beca was forced back against the wall as smoke, heat, and pain took over. She could hardly focus on any one thing but the fact she was on fire.

Like, actually on fire.

Her skin blistered almost immediately as it raced up her arms. Quickly, she began to put the flames on her arms out, now blistering her hands as well, but soon she wasn't being burned. Tears were brought to her eyes as anyone who was burning would be in immense pain. No matter their tolerance. The smoke wasn't helping her much either, and on top of everything else she began to cough. But she heard Em scream her name. Through her coughing, she managed to reply. "I-I-I'm r-right....here!" Her words struggled to come out, and her sentence was broken. But she was still alive, but in danger. Changing now was nearly impossible because she just couldn't focus enough to do so, and Beca fell to her knees. There was a small stroke of luck however. The ground around her seemed to be a bit damp, and while it was quickly dimishing, it was giving her a few minutes if she could keep conscious. But she was gonna need help.

Inari knew, deep down, that he was right and nothing she could say would change his mind. Sighing, she pulled her "brother" into a hug, but didn't say much. She didn't want to make him sad, and she knew he could care for himself. She pulled away quickly and smiled a bit before saying quietly, "Come home, okay?"

As she was walking away, she froze and glanced over at the little farmhouse. She kept hearing noises, like people yelling, and something smelled horrible, "Uhm..." She turned around to face Jay again, eyes wide, "I hear yelling... it's muffled, but it's there. Something... something smells awful, too." The smell didn't bother her too much, she couldn't smell it too much at the moment, and it more so just burned the inside of her nose. Was it something the people approaching were doing? No, they are still a little bit away... what else is happening?

James W. Stryker
Dempsey farm- cellar.

He had just made it to the door when he noticed the flicker of light beneath it and he dove down the stairwell just as the flames burst into the room. It caught him in mid air and flung him across the room into one of the shelves which toppled over pinning him beneath it and knocking into a case of water which leaked onto the floor dampening it. He groaned as he tried in vain to shift the shelf. Moments later he heard the Voice of ember and knew what was going on. His rifle was pinned at an odd angle so he was forced to draw his handgun and fire two shots into the top corner of the shelf which held him in place. After the metal gave he toppled the shelf and rose to his feet dropping his face mask to protect his eyes from the smoke. With his pistol still drawn he crawled to the back of the room to grab two of the gas masks putting one on. As he crept back towards the door the heat was begining to get to him but He knew what would happen if he stopped especially now of all times. First he made it to Beca who was barely hanging on herself. He tugged the first mask over her face cursing that he didnt grab a third. Afterwards he crawled towards the corner near the stairwell.he took off his own gasmask putting it over the younger girls face as well. "Lets go little soldier, we're getting outta here." he grabbed her little hand and tightened it around the back of his belt. "Dont let go, we're gonna go slow ok." he began walking forward, slowly to ensure Em wouldn't get left behind. Pausing to reach down and sling beca's arm over his shoulder. "Come on, you dont, have permission to die yet." he muttered as he lifted her up to her feet, luckily she wasnt as heavy as he was used to having to drag nor was she entirely dead weight. Together they managed to make it to the top of the stairs. All the while Stryker kept his pistol pointing forward.

As Scarlet entered the house, Alvin rushed out, armed to the teeth. Scarlet's eyes popped open wide at the sight of it, and stood still as the old man rushed past her. Anita had already started loading her shotgun, requesting they get in the truck. At first, Scarlet was skeptical, until she turned around to witness first hand the armada at their doorstep. She could use this. Scarlet had no doubt this must have been Seraphim back to rescue them, and perhaps without their intervention Stryker wouldn't be able to hold them off.

The others were either too scared or too foolish to do as Anita instructed however, Ember fleeing as usual, Beca chasing after her without a second thought, Jay sprinting off to who knew where, probably to find the last two. Scarlet slowly walked toward the stairs, gazing down below, before a sudden plume of fire forced the girl to shield her eyes.

She would have helped them herself, if not simply to put a plan into motion, but before she could act Stryker was there, pointing a pistol forward, Beca hung over his shoulder. If nothing else, she supposed he was brave, either that or he needed his stolen army in good shape. Still, the way he did so almost seemed... Genuine. Scarlet shook her head out of thought, before approaching, arms raised to assist them.

Grave had kept pace with the rest of the agents rather easily as they made their way to the farm, watching the front door intently. Assuming most of the children were inside, once they reached it, it would be rather easy to take out the rest of them in the smaller space. Grave, along with the rest of the agents, had spotted the older boy who was outside - it was the speedster. Not too much of a problem, they had the equipment to deal with it. Along with the older boy, Grave had spotted a younger one a bit further away. Grave was sure it was the boy who was able to detach limbs. He spoke up as they continued to head towards the main farm. "Agents with mesh nets, break off and head over to the boy at the hill, don't let him get away!" Around 5 agents moved away from the rest, running over towards the young boy, as the rest continued to move towards the entrance.

They were quickly approaching, but they paused once the door was flung open - the large mounted weapon facing towards them. It was surely an intimidating sight to behold. These regular agents did not have superhuman capabilities, a gun was anything but fodder for them. Even so, they kept their professional stature and headed forward still, only briefly having paused. After hearing the man at the gun yell, Grave shouted back. "To take back what's rightfully ours!" As Grave ran alongside the agents, he tapped one on the shoulder. "Hand me your rubber mines, but stick with your squad. Your directive is still to capture the speedster and the speedster only." The agent complied to Grave's requesting, digging in a pouch and handing Grave several hair trigger rubber mines that could be armed at any time. His voice rose once more, shouting to the agents. "Kill the gunner! You can't let him take you all out!" Even though he said that, he knew that some of them would have been taken out. The way that he was ordered to go through with this mission was somewhat suicidal in Grave's eyes. It wasn't secretive at all - it was a full on assault, and the enemy easily learned of their presence rather quickly. While it wasn't a problem for Grave, these regular people could still be picked off. At this point, he understood why the boss said the mission was bound to fail. It wasn't very well thought out from the start, after all.

The agents who broke away from the main force readily chased after the young boy, heading uphill deal with him. They would have to be smart about it for sure, as their guns were basically dead weight, considering they couldn't use extreme brute force on the children - they just needed to capture them. These mesh nets were their only "weapon" against the child. Even so, they were formidable soldiers, and knew what the child was capable of. They were taught to prioritize the lives of the children over their own, capturing them was priority number one above all else.

The group of assailants diverged so that a small pack was left hunting down Robin, quickly gaining on the boy. Little did Robin know, but the only reason he was still ahead was that they were weighed down by weaponry and equipment. Robin, on the other hand, was a few pounds lighter than usual with only one arm, and too focused on getting the hell out of here to know how much stamina he had left. He couldn't even feel his legs anymore; all he could think was run! Run! Faster! Keep running!

Honestly, it would have been exhilarating if it weren't so terrifying.

Clearing the field in hat felt like record time, he jumped the other side of the fence. This time around, however, he missed the landing and tumbled a few feet down the other side of the hill. No time to stop and check if he was hurt, he stumbled back onto his feet tried to use the slope to regain momentum... He had no idea how close behind they were. Their pounding footsteps seemed as loud as ever. If only there was some way to buy time and lose them long enough to get out of dodge, but the farm offered little in the way of cover.

Robin's arm seems to have gone unnoticed by the uninvited guests. That was close... but at least part of him was temporarily out of danger. The arm snaked its way through the grass downhill, creeping like a spider as it used its fingers and elbow joint to propel itself back towards the farmhouse. Hopefully Robin would be able to stay close enough to allow his arm to keep moving, at least back to the house or until someone could find it...

kat_by_raichiyo33-dahfb17.jpgWhether it was because of all that training, or pure spitefilled stubbornness, Beca refused to lose consciousness. She absolutely refused. Despite the smoke and the heat, she managed to keep her eyes open. At this point, she could nearly breathe, tears were rolling down her cheeks trying to clear her eyes or smoke. She refused to give in. Well, actually, she was about three seconds from passing out when the gasmask was put on her face. Immdeiatly she began to take deep, gasping breaths as Stryker put her arm over his shoulder. Despite being a mostly floppy noodle of uselessness, she managed to help him help her by at least trying to walk as she continued coughing and taking deep breaths.

Once they were out of the basement, she removed her arm from Stryker's shoulder, and lifted the mask. "I wasn't gonna die old man," She said with a glance to Ember. Beca was actually, most likely gonna die if the old man hadn't come to the rescue. But she didn't want Ember to know that. Anyway, her attention quickly turned to the burning sensation covering her forearms and the palms of her hands. Her skin was angry, red, blistered, screaming at her. It hurt. Quickly clearing her throat, she looked to Stryker. "This is only gonna get worse, what do you want us to do?" Obvious or not, she didn't mean her injuries, a quick transformation and back, she'd be good as new. Another glance to Em, and now Scarlett, "Those men arent going to let us leave." Something was off. That growling, gravelly sound under her words had come back. Her fist clenched despite her burns.

She was angry.

After telling Jay about what she was sensing, Inari gave him another quick hug before turning back around and making her way back to the house. She figured she'd see if Scarlet and Robin were there before she went out and did anything rash. She was also a little worried about the things she had picked up on, but from what she could tell, whatever the situation was had calmed down a bit. Jay told her to make sure she was safe, but he had also said to make sure everyone else was safe too. Inari knew if it came down to it she wouldn't be the greatest at defending herself or anyone else- she supposed she was more there for support rather than anything. Did that make her useless in this situation? Just... dead weight?

Inari cut off that train of thought and made her way to the back of the house, hoping there was a back door somewhere. She didn't want any of the people approaching to see her by going through the front, and she was a little paranoid of Alvin pulling the trigger on her on accident. She didn't think he'd shoot her, but she still didn't want to risk it. And of course, she realized that whoever all was doing this might not just be in the front- they could be anywhere, she supposed, but she felt safer by avoiding the front yard.

She approached the door and gently knocked so she wouldn't alarm everyone too much, before fumbling with the knob and pushing the door open. Inari stepped inside and quickly shut it behind her, leaning against the wall for a moment and to compse herself. After calming herself a little, she walked further into the house where everyone seemed to have congregated. The smell of smoke hit her immediately and she covered her nose, seeing Ember in obvious distress and a burned Beca, with Stryker standing close by. She was relieved, for once, to see Scarlet inside with them, but saw no sign of Robin.

With a little defeated sigh, Inari glanced around the room before turning her attention to the window to watch the people outside.

Before Ember knew anything else, Stryker was there, the hero once again, dragging her and Beca to safety. Now Ember sat on the kitchen floor, looking up at Beca. Look at what you did.... Beca’s arms were covered in painful looking blisters and burns. A huge lump rose in Ember’s throat. Look at what you did. You’re bad. You’re a bad girl. You almost got everyone killed. And the basement was on fire, quickly getting worse.... You. You ugly, stupid..... no good.... “Bastard.” She said, quietly, wrinkling her nose. It was likely that no one heard her in this chaos. It didn’t matter, anyway.

Ember wasn’t afraid anymore. Atleast, not as much afraid as she was angry. Hideously angry at herself. Beca was incredibly strong, and even now she was fighting tears due to the nearly crippling pain Ember had caused her.

Some of the doctors had been angry with her after she killed the scientists. One female doctor particularly. Was it Dr. Franklin? Ember couldn’t remember. But the woman had grabbed Ember by the front of the shirt and lifted her to eye level, fierce anger in her eyes. ‘Don’t you EVER do that again, do you hear me?!’ Ember heard her loud and clear, now. The tiny girl wiped her steadily flowing eyes with the back of her hand, still hiccuping from the sobs.

Don’t you ever do that again, bastard.

Never again.

Jay hugged Inari back, both times. He had no idea what she was describing with her senses, but he promised her he’d come back. Watching her go, he looked back at the men. He himself was kinda stuck between them and Alvins weaponry, and he realised that meant he could be attacked from both sides, one unintentionally no doubt.

Watching the soldiers, he noticed their guns. Maybe, just maybe, he could run through them and grab them all. Then they couldn’t hurt them. Or, at least, it was less likely that they could hurt them. And, well, Jay had no idea how to fight, but he could certainly just snatch things out of their hands.

Taking a deep breath, he bolted straight at them. The delight of running was dampened by the situation, as he attempted to put his little plan into motion.

She had kept glancing over from the window to Ember, who looked about the saddest she's ever seen her. Careful not to bump into anyone in the crowded space, Inari strode over and knelt down so she was at the little one's level. Inari gave her a soft little smile and pulled her into a probably unexpected, but big hug. She probably wasn't as comforting as Jay was- she barely knew how to deal with anyone, but she couldn't just let her be alone. Emmy deserved to be happy, and besides, it wasn't completely her fault this was happening.

Inari gently stroked her hair and said quietly, "Everything's going to be okay eventually... I promise," She stuck her pinky out to show it was a pinky promise. She glanced at Beca for a moment, then returned her attention to Ember, "Beca's gonna be alright, okay hon? She's very strong and lovely, just like you." Inari wasn't really sure what to say, but kept her arms wrapped around her 'little sister,' trying to provide comfort without words. If she was being honest with herself, she was terrified about what was happening outside, and the overwhelming smell of smoke wasn't helping. She wasn't sure what was planned, or how bad things were going to get, and part of her didn't want to know. She wanted to hit the reset button and start everything over. Trying to hide her own anxiety, Inari held the little one closer, as if she was able to shield her away from everything, not caring if she was accidentally burned.

Let's face it. This was definitely not the time to be out of sorts, but Ember had lost it. With Inari's arms around her, the girl began sobbing hard. "I hu-hurt Becaaaaaa...." She wailed. "N-n-never again.... never ag-again..." she mumbled.

But in the back of her mind she knew full well she couldn't control her powers as easy as 'I'll never do it again'. She was much more dangerous than the other kids in the sense that her powers just exploded randomly when the vulnerable little girl was frightened. She looked up at Inari, not realizing that the older girl didn't see her train of thought. But it didn't matter. "I don't want to b-be Ember...." She whimpered.

Inari held Ember and let her cry, figuring it best to let her get this all out now rather than later. She knew they were working with a very limited amount of time, and that they should be doing something completely different, but she'd rather have this than Ember suddenly losing control again. The older girl listened to the smaller one stutter and cry, gently wiping away tears when she looked up at her. Inari gave her a little smile and brushed a little bit of Ember's hair out of her face. Her voice took on it's usual soft tone when she spoke, though she was quieter than usual so hopefully only Ember heard her, "Do you know why fire is beautiful Emmy?" Inari carefully untied the little bracelet on her own wrist, talking again when it was off, "It brings light. It brings warmth. It can protect the people you care about, and all of this is balanced by the possibility of danger. Balance is important- it makes the good things in life stand out and makes the bad things a little more bearable." Inari paused for a moment to gently take Ember's wrist, tying on the little bracelet in a way that made it look like a bow. It was a little bittersweet to do this, she'd never gone a day without it since she was brought home with her mother from the hospital, but she felt the need to give it to her.

Inari let go of her wrist and said with a smile to try to lighten the mood, "Besides, fire helps make s'mores."

The Dempseys
Dempsey farm.

When the men responded to alvin he cocked the M-60. "feel free to chase em when they aren't my guests. But for right now i suggest you get the hell outta my land." when the Squads broke off and to go after the children he let hell rain on them. 7.62mm armor piercing rounds flew at a rate of 650 rounds a minute. The hail of bullets would carve through armor and vehicles alike. Yet in the back of his mind alvin knew it would be short lived. Four men went down but the rest scrambled to various cover. Worse still alvins range of vision was limited to the doorway which was only providing moderate cover at best. The old wooden frame wouldn't hold against to many return shots. Still he had faith in his backup.

As the sound of automatic fire rung out through the house mrs Dempsey flinched but didn't stop in her efforts to douse the flames. once she had won her fight with the flames in the kitchen She crouched down looking to the basement with a face full of agony. Her house, the place she and her husband built and raised their children in, the only home she had known in over 40 years. It was a warzone. Yet her pain quickly changed to determination it would not be in vain. "Come on kids lets go find your siblings." then she turned and pointed her bony finger at Stryker. "You bring my husband back to me young man or you'll regret the day you were born." her tear filled eyes did nothing to lessen the threat. Stryker simply nodded and rounded the corner.

James W. Stryker
Dempsey farm

As the gunfire erupted Stryker's entire mindset changed. He heard the words coming out of mrs. dempsey mouth but they didn't register. He walked past her and the children as if in some kind of trance. As he rounded the corner he dropped into a crouched stance letting loose accurate bursts from his rifle at any who popped up out of cover from Alvin's barrage. When he got to Alvin's side he shouted. "Now you cover me." once he finished the words he tossed two smoke grenades out the front door. Dashing from the doorframe to the large oak tree just in front of the porch, yet his rifle never stopped firing as he crossed the distance. As he got behind the tree he let his magazine slide out and slammed another into at as Alvin's barrage began again. Unfortunately just as Stryker Saw Jay about to head into the fray. Putting both fingers to his lips he let out a loud whistle and signaled with his hand to go around them and attack from behind. A last signal pointing to his own eyes then jay to say "ill cover you". In his mind this had become a war operation and each of these kids while a priority was a valuable asset.

kat_by_raichiyo33-dahfb17.jpgLooking between Inari, Ember, Scarlett, and Mrs.Dempsy, she looked outside. This was gonna turn into a full fledged war zone, and...Beca sighed, and turned to address Mrs.Dempsy. "We need to get them outta here, and I know that your truck is out front. Is there any other vehicle that we can use or is that the only option?" She asked, the growling sound under her voice getting worse. The other subjects would know this was the first stage or sign of her transformation. "Reguardless of your answer, going out back I think would be smartest, those men don't seem to be back there."

First of all, as he was running toward the men, Jay had to very much avoid Alvin's bullets. Which... was hard enough in itself. To be honest, he wasn't even sure he'd dodged them all, but watched as a few men fell. Well, that made his job easier, but he hated the sight of people falling in such a manner. And, well, the others seemed to scatter. Which left Jay panting, glancing around, frowning. Where did he go? Of course, then he spotted Stryker, attention drawn by the whistle. He nodded in return, and ran off again, trusting that Stryker would in fact cover him even as the speedster ran. Whether it would be enough to keep him safe or not was another matter, but he appreciated the effort.

Unfortunately, unknown to him, he had been hit by one of Alvin's bullets, in the back of his right shoulder. It didn't affect his running, and he couldn't feel pain, so he was rather oblivious to it right now. Nor was he concerned that his clothes were catching alight, causing him to try and pat it out when he could. His main target was the weapons of those attacking them. To take them off of them and place them somewhere they couldn't get to. At least, that was his plan. But he did listen to Stryker, and did go around the back of them as he worked, seeing as that partially protected him from Alvin and Strykers own weapons, and from the men shooting back.

Inari tied her bracelet around Ember's wrist, and Ember tried through her tears to understand the meaning of it all. The window behind her and Inari smashed from gun-fire and Ember instinctively dropped to the floor. Whatever all this means, I'm not gonna be a burden anymore. Ember crawled quickly across the kitchen and to the back door where Beca was suggesting as a place to go. The flames were definitely progressing across the whole house and they wouldn't stop until they had swallowed it.

"Hey!" Ember cried in her little voice, coughing from the smoke. "We hafta get outta here!" She looked up at Mrs. Dempsey fighting the flames. "We can't save the house! We have to go now!"

As the window shattered behind them, Inari immediately threw her hands behind her head to shield it from the glass shards raining down. Every gunshot that rang outside felt like someone was jamming a screwdriver over and over into her skull, twisting as they yanked it out. Despite the ongoing headache, when Ember scrambled away, Inari followed suit. She wasn't staying for long- there was still no sign of Robin and there was no way she'd let him be left behind. Not that she thought everyone would abandon him, but no one else was making even an effort to search for him. If I can't fight, I can at least do this.

She glanced at the little group, and heard Beca's voice adopt it's usual growling sound when she was about to shift. Inari called out to them quickly, "I'm going out to find Robin- Please be safe." Not really giving them a chance to respond, she pushed past and ran outside through the back, not wanting to waste any time. She had waited long enough to start searching.

Inari ran behind the barn, hoping she wouldn't be seen there. She knew there was still a chance she could be spotted, so she stayed standing, hoping she'd notice if someone was approaching fast enough to get away. Taking a deep breath and trying to ignore the chaos around her, Inari began to try listening and feeling for her little brother.

When a squad broke off of the main force to chase the younger boy is when the machine hellfire began to rain down. The individual squad didn't think to stop - prioritizing the capture of the children over their own life, it cost them two men, as two men at the main force fell as well. This left them with 20 men in total, 16 if the people who were armed with snipers weren't counted. The squad chasing Robin was very much weighed down by their gear, and they struggled to catch up with the boy. Obviously they couldn't disable him with weaponry, as it had a chance of fatally wounding the child - along with the fact that they didn't want to injure them too much. After a few moments, they decided to take out the mesh nets used to capture the boy whenever they were able to get in range, but that was the problem. They weren't gaining ground, they were just losing it. After running after him for quite some time, they had eventually lost track of his location and frantically began to search. One of the agents unclipped a radio at their side, promptly speaking into it with a deep, gravelly voice. "I'd like one of you equipped with a sniper to scan the perimeter of the farm for a younger boy, we cannot let him escape." As the whole situation was unfolding, four of the sniper units were watching everything go down. They not dare shoot at the children, most prioritizing any clear witnesses or targets. As ordered, the snipers began to search for Robin, scanning the area, while the few agents who broke off searched as well.

When the speedster began to take action on the main force, the squad assigned with the rubberized mines went into action. The mines were hair trigger, and scattered magnetic balls at an incredibly high speed when it was tripped. They weren't very damaging, but for the most part, worked remarkably well. Each of the agents with these mines began to plant them, arming them so that if they were to be walked over, they could be released. They had to do this rather quickly though, as the huge machine gun firing at them was a problem. There were a few minor casualties while planting the mines due to the gunner, but most of them had successfully planted. 18 in total left.

As the barrage started upon the primary force, Grave was still far towards the back looking forward. He quickly picked up the pace, moving behind a piece of sturdy looking cover to protect himself from the barrage, along with a few other agents that hid behind the same one at his side. Grave wasn't concerned with getting hurt or dying - a few hundred rounds ripping through his chest was child's play. The concern was, if the bullets WERE to rip through his flesh, he'd still have holes in him. If they took off his arm or leg, even though he'd be fine, he'd still need to take the time to actually regrow these limbs. So, it was more of an annoyance to him if anything. Grave could run particularly fast. Not anywhere NEAR as fast as someone like Jay, but above human due to the strength that he was granted. If he were to charge in head first, the bullets would still pick his body apart. But he'd thought of a plan to eliminate the gun and his gunner in one go. As his forces slowly began to decline, reaching around 16 now, Grave moved his hand over to his right side, his hand picking for a decently sized rock. After looking around for a bit on the ground, he found a large one, a bit bigger than a baseball, that fit comfortably in his hand. His head peeked up from under the cover momentarily, his eyes locking onto Alvin and the large gun that he stood behind. An immobile target, perfect. Along with the gunner, he also spotted a familiar individual for just a moment out of the corner of his eye. It was him, Stryker. Grave exhaled deeply through his nose, before lowering his head once more. He took the cigar he had held in his mouth out, turning his head to an agent next to him and handing it over. "Hold on to this for a moment. Try not to let it burn out." Grave peeked over his cover ever so slightly once more, watching the gunner firing upon another area.

Grave lifted himself up from behind the cover, a rock being held tightly in his right hand, his arm reared back, aiming directly towards Alvin. His foot dug into the ground as he moved his right side forward, exerting the pressure of his muscles into the rock in his hand. As the rock slid out of his fingers, it was propelled forward at an incredible speed, with a lot of power behind it as well. If the rock made contact with Alvin, it would most likely punch a whole straight through his chest, along with breaking the heavy caliber weapon that he was using. The agent next to him watched on in amazement, mesmerized by the sight he'd just witnessed.

Robin had managed to stay out of arm's reach of the squad, but was still close enough to hear one of his assailants radio for a sniper. Scheiße!! Panic rang through his head like a gunshot. He had to find cover; get out of their line of sight. The only thing he could do at the moment was to keep pelting down the hill at breakneck speed, taking sharp turns where he could in a last-ditch attempt to not make himself an easy target. It was getting harder to ignore the black spots in his vision, his heart skipping beats and pounding painfully in his ears... Unlike Jay, Robin wasn't built to maintain high-intensity sprinting for long periods of time. Even with independently functioning limbs, his brain still needed oxygen.

He could sense his right arm falling limp somewhere in the grass outside the farmhouse. He must have strayed too far at this point. He was what, halfway across the farm?! It seemed like it went on forever. And was that smoke rising back there...?

As Inari tuned down the sound of gunshots and footsteps, she could've sworn she heard... rustling? It wasn't like footsteps or anything, she supposed it sounded more like a snake slithering in the grass. She cautiously walked out from behind the barn, trying to discern where it was coming from. It seemed like it was coming from the farm house, and she stepped out a little more and zoomed in her sight to see the area around the farm house a little more clearly. And there something was, pitifully scraping along in the grass before going limp like a little rag doll.

Was that an arm?

She quickly bolted over, wanting to figure out if it was what she thought it was. Panting, Inari scooped up what definitely was an arm and managed to grin at the sight of it. Oh, this is disgusting! I'm so happy! She usually found Robin's detachable limbs a little gross, but she was too relieved to have found it to be disgusted. And then she realized... why was his arm out here? It didn't seem to be moving anymore, and Inari knew there was a limit to how far he could control his limbs remotely. Turning to face the direction it had come from, Inari checked to make sure there weren't many of the people approaching around before dashing off in the hopes of at least getting the arm in range of Robin, and then she'd go from there.

It probably wasn't the world's most discreet method of finding her 'brother,' but it was better than doing nothing.

(Sorry for a probably poorly written post, little distracted~)

Jay didn’t notice those planting the mines, and if he had he probably wouldn’t have realised what they were doing. He didn’t know what a mine was. All he knew was that these people wanted to hurt them, so he was going for the most obvious weapons, the ones they were shooting at Alvin with. He didn’t want the man to get hurt after all.

So, suffice to say, when he saw the rock flying toward Alvin, he sped to catch it. Unfortunately, he also stepped on a mine as he reached for it. It sailed past his fingers, as the small balls snapped up and out, the wire catching on Jay and tangling around him as the balls swung around. He was sure that was meant to hurt, but all he knew was that he was now on the ground, wrapped up like a Christmas present by wires.

Whimpering softly in the fear of being unable to move, he wiggled. Which, really, only made the wires tighten further with his movement. Fire burnt across his clothing, across his chest and legs, since his back had been put out when he hit the floor. He tried to roll over, to at least put it out, but had no luck. He was still greatly unaware of the fact that he’d been shot, and was stuck watching the rock sail toward Alvin.

Blitz
Facility 6

Heinz stood at attention near the gate as Dr.Amiko exited the transport to assume her position as the new director. As she exited the transport her nose wrinkled in disgust upon seeing Blitz. "Oh great...to what do i owe this...pleasure." she said. Blitz Smiled wickedly and simply bowed. "Unofficial buisness Doctor, im simply passing through on my way to denver and figured i would stop by and make sure everything was going well." the blank annoyed expression on Dr.Amiko's face seemed to convey the message but she still spoke up for good measure. "I don't need a babysitter, why dont you carry on." blitz nodded and made his way to the car waiting for him at the front. "Just want to make sure everything goes according to the boss's plan, we wouldn't want him to get upset." he said it as if were a simple fact yet the doctor didn't seem shaken. As she continued to the facility she announced loud enough for all to here. "I don't care how he feels...nor how you feel."

Panzer
New york port.

As the giant Zombie stepped off of the boat he looked to the shipping container he was to get into next. He stood staring at the air shipment symbol on the crate for what seemed like an eternity before turning to the scientist who he had spoken to on the boat who during the trip had been assigned as his new handler, a scary promotion considering His last Handler was fatally Crushed by a couch when he told him that he couldn't watch the Disney Hercules move a 19th time. "No Want Fly." he said with a voice that sounded slightly pitiful. "To high...Not natural." he added. The scientist patted him on the back not realizing that panzer couldn't feel such a light tap. "I know how ya feel big guy...i can turn you off if you want but you need to get in first...we can move you without a forklift." Panzer simply nodded solomnly and climbed into the shipping container. Dropping to a sitting position he wrapped his massive arms around his knees to prepare for what would be a long nap to him. The doctor stood behind him with a strange holographic computer where he brought up panzers file and sent the request for his depowering process marking "travel" as the reason. Within a few seconds the Request was processed and the button appeared on the touch screen. "Good night Big guy, See you in denver." when the button was pressed the green light in Panzers eyes slowly powered down then off. Leaving panzer sitting unmoving and unblinking as if frozen in time. His handler let out a sigh of relief, looking to the guard he said. "why does every conversation with that guy feel like im about to have a heart attack..." the guard just shrugged. "Maybe because your a bitch?" he said with a surprisingly straight face closing the shipping container leaving the dormant monster in darkness.

Inari ran as fast as her legs would let her when she made it to the front yard, making sure to tone down pretty much everything but her sight so she didn't get too overwhelmed. Things seemed to be picking up out here, and though she tried not to waste time dwelling on the scene that was unfolding, she saw Stryker close by and just managed to spot the blur of Jay running. Inari let herself smile a little despite everything when she saw he was at least slightly okay, though it was quickly replaced with a frown when she saw something whiz past him. She watched as Jay quickly changed direction to go after it, and next thing she knew something sprang up from the ground and he was on his back.

What the hell?

She wanted to run over to help him, to do something, but she knew she'd just cause more trouble for him and for everyone else by getting so close to the people wanting to harm them. Inari quickly glanced away, tears streaming down her cheeks as she tightened her grip on Robin's poor detached limb and forced herself to keep running.

Mr & Mrs Dempsey.
Dempsey farmhouse.

Things quickly turned to chaos around Mrs. Dempsey. Both the remaining girls were shouting at her to get out and the other girl just bolted. Nonetheless Mrs. Dempsey tightened her apron and quickly grabbed an old looking scrapbook out of the kitchen before running with the girls out the back door. "To the barn Em, if we can make it there i have a way out for us." she turned to face Beca "spread the word if you can." she shouted just as she and the children were flung off of their feet by the shockwave...

Alvin saw the guy wind up to toss what he assumed was a grenade, only when it had smashed the M-60 into shards, and tore his right shoulder into ribbons did he finally see it embedded in the refrigerator and realize it was a rock. He chuckled a bit at his bad luck, a handful of super powered beings in the world and he had agreed to get mixed up with more than half of them. Between the floorboards he could see the flickering of flames, a lot easier to see when laying down. He reached for the crumpled cigarette pack in his pocket and found it hard. He looked at his shoulder to see that his arm was missing entirely. He only was able to let out a few more chuckles before the house erupted into a massive explosion which unleashed a huge pressure wave sending debris flaying as far as the SUV's.

James W. Stryker
Dempsey farm front yard.

Stryker couldn't tell if he was lucky or unlucky to have the tree behind him the pressure wave knocked him into the tree which hurt like hell, but kept him on his feet. Yet behind him he had seen the Dempsey house explode, and while his heart ached for his friends and he hoped they had made it out, he knew the battle wasn't over and the enemies would likely opportunise on the chaos created from the explosion. His only hope was to do so first, so he rolled two Flashbangs underneath the Suv's to blind the men taking cover behind them. Then using the time he had to come out of cover he took a risky shot, he layed flat on the ground shooting a single shot beneath the car, between the feet of one agent and smack into the empty space just above Jay's shoulder. It cut a few of the wires holding him. Granted it wouldn't get the entire net off but at least would free him up enough to do so himself. He carefully aimed the next few shots to take out a multitude of the mines around Jays general vicinity, and the two men nearest to him. Sure enough before he could do any real damage his magazine clicked empty and he had to roll back to cover drawing his third and final magazine.
