~Ember~
Location: Farmhouse --> Yard --> Barn
Mentions: WeaselThor WeaselThor

Ember ran quickly out the door, followed by Mrs. Dempsey. She had only gone a half dozen steps when a louder boom than Ember had ever heard filled her ears, and hot air slammed into her from behind, causing her to land hard on her face. She whipped around to see that the house... was Blown. Right. Apart.

Ember just stared in horror, unable to scream or cry. A hot wind danced in her face, laughing at her, taunting her. Look what you did. This is all your fault.

Mrs. Dempsey's words from less than a minute ago rang in her ears.

'You bring my husband back to me young man or you'll regret the day you were born.'

Ember's vision grew blurry and she turned and ran into the barn.

Never again. Never ever again.

But it was too late, now.

8dad418490f6d9e04b2ce5c825610553.jpgBy the time to others Em had left, and Mrs.Dempsy had finally addressed her, Beca's ability for speaking had entirely left. Her eyes had starred to take on a more feline appearance; her transformation had officially began. It was a painful, but thankfully short experience of bones breaking, and reforming. Her skin ripped, forcing her to her knees as she began to take on the rough form of a tiger. Fur began to cover her body, her clothes ripped. And finally, just before the explosion, a full fledged Sumatran Tiger raced out the back door.

The explosion knocked her off her feet, but she regained lost ground quickly, taking her place beside the others who had escaped almost a minute before her. Looking to Mrs.Dempsy, a sound of pity or sadness left the tiger's throat, before it nodded toward the barn almost telling them to go ahead. Seconds later, she took off, running around to the front of what was now a burning heap of debris, coming to a stop once in the front yard. Taking in the battlefield with a quick scan, she immideatky began running again towards Jay who was trapped by something. He may be older than her, but that didn't mean she couldn't defend him as she came to a stop almost on top of him. She wasnt sure how to free him, but if she could maybe distract the Seraphim soliders...she had to figure that out later. Standing tall, the tiger then let out a loud, terrifying roar.

Beca has officially entered the battle.

Inari was suddenly very grateful most of her senses were partially muted.

Though it was muffled, she heard the old farm house tear apart as a blast of hot air and debris made Inari drop the poor arm as she skidded down to her knees and covered her head. Tears continued to streak her face, from a mix of her actually wanting to cry and dust and smoke agitating her eyes. She stumbled to her feet, snatching up the arm as she did so and wasting no time in running again. Through the debris, Inari saw a huge tiger dash towards towards Jay as it let out a terrifyingly loud roar. She recognized it as Beca immediately and would've let out a sigh of relief if this was any other situation.

She wished she could help her family more. Inari quickly wiped at her eyes and focused on the one thing she could do right now- finding Robin.

After losing Robin, the squad that had gone to chase them entered a bit of a panic. They knew they couldn't lose him, and they knew how important every single child was. They did their best to keep their professional demeanor up on the outside, but it'd soon break if they didn't hear back soon. After waiting for a radio response for some time, one of the snipers spoke. "The child was spotted heading downhill, though they're still remaining mostly out of sight. I'll update the location if I'm able to pinpoint it." The small squad of agents nodded to eachother, moving down hill to continue to search for Robin. One of the agents began to shout. "Come out, boy! We're not going to hurt you, trust us!" For the most part, what they said was true. They DIDN'T plan to hurt any of the children. Though, any one of the children had little reason to believe that.

As Grave watched the rock tear through the weapon and the man behind it, he let out a sigh of relief. The threat for the rest of his men was gone, but they had been severely depleted in the fight. Around 14 now. 7 present at the front of the house, while the others were either sniping or out chasing Robin. He didn't let it get to him, though. With that M60 down, the rest of this should go rather smoothly. Just as a sigh of relief finally escaped his throat, that's when the whole house went up in fireworks right in front of him. The shockwave sent him back a bit, but he wasn't very worried about himself. He grew wide eyed, staring on, before he began to yell. "Made sure not a damn one of the those kids are harmed!" There was anger and worry in his voice, audibly. He was genuinely worried about them - had they all made it out before the explosion? He turned around and sat down, whispering under his breath. "Damnit all! How could this happen? What caused the explosion?" The agent next to him handed him back his cigar, Grave readily taking it, before placing it right back between his lips. He deeply inhaled the smoke, letting it pour out through his nostrils while he closed his eyes momentarily. After successfully recollecting his thoughts, he opened his eyes again, speaking. "Alright, the mission isn't over yet. Let's get on with it." His voice turned into a yell. "Push in, the threat has been neutralized! Be cautious." Even though the gunner was down, Grave knew that Stryker would be a major problem, and would get in the way of the operation. Grave moved from behind the cover, along with the other agents that began to push in. He had multiple children in view, and the agents already knew who they were assigned to take down. Before they could get in much closer, the agents, along with Grave, watched as an abnormally large tiger was now in the front yard. Some agents were a bit stunned, but they knew it was coming. "Load in the tranquilizer, we need to take her down!" Grave shouted to the agents. Grave decided that it was about time to move to the front. He ran forward, moving ahead of the agents to the very front. He was able to spot both Inari and Stryker out of the corner of his eye, along with Jay and Beca. Some of the few remaining agents began to load tranquilizers to deal with Beca, but it would take a few moments.

8dad418490f6d9e04b2ce5c825610553.jpgShe heard Grave. Growling, she lowered herself slightly, looking at the agents challenging her. Or maybe, it. Beca never was really herself in this form. She still recognised the people she knew, but her primal, predatory instincts always took the reigns. These people were prey. Her prey. And they should be fucking scared. No matter what they thought, they weren't ready.

Suddenly, the tiger sprang forward, before suddenly vearing off to the left, closing the distance with a poorly executed flank. Leaving Jay behind was not ideal, but if the beast could just take out these agents, then maybe Stryker could help him. Reguardless, it only took seconds for her to close that distance between her and those agents. She had to be shot between 3 and 7 times by those tranquilizers before she went down. She had to keep track but the smell of fresh meat was...it was almost intoxicating.

Sure enough the agent closest to her wasn't expecting her. He screamed, but it was cut short as a nearly 310 pound mass of giant cat pounced onto him; it's teeth sinking into his neck. Fresh blood passed over her tounge, a sickly satisfying wave of pride took over her as she tightened her jaw, listening to the sound of the agents neck snap. His body went limp instantaneously, dropping from her jaws a few seconds later, leaving her able to once again growl at the men challenging her. One down, two more.

The second closest took aim with a tranquilizer that wasn't ready just yet, attempting to fire. Nrca managed to doge it, and close the distance with a lunge. But the man had a back up plan. He just managed to draw a back up knife, and land a well placed stab to her side. The tiger growled in pain, reacting with a swift swipe that left the next agent grounded. Pinning him, it seemed to be deciding on whether to go for the kill or... The man scream in agony as she moved her right paw, only to replace it with her teeth as she began to tear at his arm. Only moments later, there was sickening pop, as it was torn from the socket. His screams were then silence by the monster coping the way she took out her first victim, and her teeth sunk into his neck only moment after he lost his arm.

Suddenly, she felt a sharp prick. Growling again, she wiped around to the remaining agent. The drugs in that one shot weren't enough to take this beast down. No, but it was enough to start dulling her human side. Beca lost herself a little more. Roaring at this last agent, it charged, not knowing it they had another shot prepared or not. Luckily, it was the later of the two options. The last agent, a woman this time, was almost instantly pinned, and screaming. The tiger had already broken a bone, and was unaware of which. But it hardly mattered, as it tore into the agents neck. Blood dripping from it's mouth, three bodies at its feet, anf able to shake the tranquilizer free, Beca turned back to the rest of the battle.

Inari felt like she could vomit. She probably would've, if she'd actually eaten today.

The sight of huge tiger tearing into human flesh was enough to make her stop dead in her tracks, purely out of shock. She thought she knew what Beca was capable of, but she'd never actually seen her hurt people before. She'd barely seen so much violence before, in general. Inari could see a man run in front of the other people, and could just barely hear yelling, so she returned her senses to what they would normally be at so she could stay aware of what was happening. Gorey or not.

She hadn't realized how much she was shaking until she reached for her wrist to mess with the bracelet that should've been there, momentarily forgetting she'd given it to Ember. Inari was slowly beginning to regret that decision, but she supposed if it gave the little one comfort it'd be slightly worth it.

But she missed the one thing that kept her a little grounded.

You're a sitting duck, keep moving, Inari scolded herself and forced her legs to start moving again, trying not to look at all the violence and chaos around her.

This destruction... The bullets flying through the small countryside home, it was like a war. Scarlet could only scowl as Jay began to run around, attempting to help Stryker as it seemed, but in her mind only making things worse. Scarlet's veins began to dry as the bulletstorm continued. From both of her wrists liquid blood flew out, forming a barrier between Ember, the old woman, and herself, before hardening like a thick scab. She only hoped it would be enough to deter the oncoming barrage.

The shield did little to prevent them from being knocked back by the shockwave, the solid molecules of blood flying back toward them, staining the three of them with Scarlet's own vital fluids. As her body was forced back, and onto the hard ground, Scarlet attempted to get back up and compose herself. Was this the kind of force she expected to retrieve them? Forceful extraction? She couldn't help but look over at the now trapped Jay, perhaps it was fair to assume the children had gone turncoat so rapidly.

As she got up, Scarlet watched Beca from the corner of her eye, who now began charging out in her beastly fury. "Beca you idiot! They're the one's trying to save us!" It had seemed all of the commotion had gotten to her, Scarlet broke the charade, almost screaming through partially smoke-filled lungs. Though to be fair, she hardly knew if she believed herself. It seemed to have little effect however, as the girl, or beast, began to cut down the agents in her wake.

It was hardly worth hiding now, Scarlet wanted the agents to take down their kidnappers, to take them back where they belonged. Still, she wasn't about to run around hurting the others, Stryker included, she simply did not have it in her. "We need to get the others, and get out of here!" Scarlet demanded, tugging on Mrs. Dempsey's arm, a mix of anger and fear spread across Scarlet's face. "It'll be alright." She turned to face Ember, in an attempt to calm the girl down, not being so foolish as to come over and hug her, keeping her distance. Yet in her own mind it wasn't the truth, chances were they would be anything but alright.

Quickly, Scarlet scoured the fields. Jay and Beca were lost causes, hopefully the agents would detain them, she only hoped she could deter the others to give them a chance. Her eyes searched, hoping for a glimpse of the others.

Jay watched the rock hit Alvin in horror, paling as it ripped into him. He very much wanted to throw up at the sight, trembling under the net as he tried to work his way free. But it wasn’t seconds after that the explosion rocked the planet it seemed, and Jays tied up form was pushed a little by the pressure of it, flipping him onto his front. Now he really was shaking. Had everyone gotten out? Alvin certainly hadn’t and... and despite barely knowing the man Jay felt tears in his eyes.

But this was no time to cry. Soon enough he froze, as he realised someone was shooting at him, that it was loosening the wires. Blinking, he rather stupidly lifted his head and noticed Stryker. Oh. So the man did have his back. Again, Astiel didnt notice when the bullets grazed his skin, or the fact that something had hit him in the head during the explosion and blood was now trailing down the side of his head from a cut near his temple.

But what he did notice was the loosening of the wires. He worked free of the net just after noticing Beca protecting him, and stood just in time to watch her pull people apart. That was kinda worse than Alvin, watching her rip out their throats in such an horrific manner.

But he pushed himself to help her. Those aiming for her seemed to have a different type of gun, and he noticed a difference when one hit her. It wasn’t a bullet. They weren’t trying to harm her, just bring her down. But... he couldn’t let that happen. So he pushed himself to run again, grabbing at the tranquilising guns of the agents Beca wasn’t attacking. He didn’t think he needed to take them off the ones she had her eyes on. By the look of it, they wouldn’t be a threat after a while, which relieved him but also disgusted him. He hated fighting. He hated death. But... he supposed this was survival. Going back would mean they’d be used as weapons and... Jay didn’t think he wanted to return to a company who would murder an old man to get their belongings back. Why couldn’t they have just come here peacefully and asked, like normal people?

Robin's arm somehow managed to reenter the radius for movement... He could have cried with relief. He really didn't have time or presence of mind to focus in and find out if it had been picked up or just wandered back into his area, but if someone had found it then he may not be too far from help. The connection wasn't great; It must have only just re-entered the 30 yards... He couldn't see anyone, but he couldn't see much of anything at all at the moment. His vision was blurred, tilting... The only thing keeping him on his feet was panic and willpower.

Regardless, if someone had found his arm... this may be his only shot at survival. With a slight twitch, as if regaining life, the hand started to move just about as fast as it could without losing comprehensibility. After all, he could only pray they would understand.

Let it be enough. if they never learned to fingerspell, Robin was screwed.

Alas, this was only a fragment of the rapidly spiraling disaster. All at once there was a bright flash back across the field by the farmhouse. Robin was several yards away from it by now, so he didn't even hear the explosion straight away. He barely had time to look towards the expanding inferno before the cloud of smoke and debris gailed full-force across the field, shattering the fence up ahead.

Before the small tween even hit the ground, he must have realized there was no way he'd be able to pick himself back up on his own. The trees spun overhead, the sounds of screaming rising from overhead muffled by the ringing in his ears. He didn't even know what had happened, if the soldiers had caused this or if the housefire had triggered some gas reaction. Whoever found his arm; they could be dead right now. God, it hurt to breathe in...

Inari nearly dropped the arm when it started to move again, though she just tightened her grip and tried to keep an eye on what the hand was doing and on where she was going. ASL? She had tried her best to teach herself ASL back in the facility, mostly for Robin's sake and out of sheer curiosity, but she'd never gotten very good at it and only caught a few letters and words. S...So... Af... ter? Down? If she was being honest, she had no bloody clue what the hell it was trying to tell her. Still, "down" seemed to be a good clue, and Inari took it and ran with it. Literally. She veered off to the side where the land began to slope and did her best not to trip on anything.

She could hear and feel other footsteps that weren't her own, but they were heavier and felt more... jumbled, she supposed. Inari felt uneasy doing this, whether it was from the people trying to take them or just the environment she was running through. Probably both, and more. Still, she pushed on and let herself hear heartbeats for once, which just added to her anxiety. Inari could hear an isolated one thumping so fast it actually surprised her a bit. Almost instinctively, Inari changed direction slightly to go towards it, and though she wasn't religious she prayed it was who she was looking for.

Her legs were burning and she felt like she could vomit by the time she saw Robin lying on the ground gasping for breath. She ran up to him and stumbled to a halt, immediately crouching down next to him with tears spilling out of her eyes. Inari quickly checked him over for any overt injuries before breathing out a sigh of relief. He was... at least a little okay.

Inari set his poor arm down next to him, not exactly sure what to say. She found it hard to focus on much of anything right now. 'Are you okay?' seemed a bit stupid, obviously he wasn't feeling all sunshine and rainbows. She wiped at her eyes and settled on asking, "Can you speak? What happened to you?"

Robin... didn't look very well.
He didn't seem too injured by the fall or the debris; aside from a few scratches and a cut by his right ear he wasn't bleeding or visibly wounded. But he wasn't catching his breath. He inhaled in shallow, ragged gasps, his chest muscles seeming to spasm rather than properly contract. He was conscious, but didn't quite seem lucid nor responsive. His arm, gently placed by its socket, promptly reconnected itself. Robin usually didn't react much to the sharp pain it caused, but this time he barely seemed to even notice.

Someone was talking, he knew that, but the voice sounded like he was listening through a fishbowl: garbled and incoherent. But he knew the sound of that voice anywhere. It took several seconds to put a name to the sound through the overpowering disorientation .. Inari. His mind was blurred with three different languages and seventeen different emotions, along with sliding in and out of a subconscious state, but... Inari! She was alive. At least one of them...

But he couldn't process a thing she was saying. His lungs burned too much to even try to say anything, all of his limbs were numb, which left him in a nerve-wracking state of being unable to communicate, and there was so much he needed to tell her about. They were both in serious peril. Robin was being actively pursued by gunmen and snipers, and he was sure Inari would be made a target as well. If he could just breathe... if the ground would stop tilting and spinning for one solitary moment.,,

What the hell do I do?

It's not like Inari knew first aid or anything. She was grateful the kid was at least still conscious, even if he wasn't responsive. He didn't even react when his arm reconnected itself. Should she run and get someone? Just leaving him here seems like a horrible idea...

She slid her arm under his back and gently propped him up into a sitting position, supporting him as best she could. She could still hear his breathing and heartbeat loud and clear, and while they didn't seem to be improving very much right they weren't exactly worsening either. Which was... good, she hoped? Inari glanced around to see if anyone was coming before turning her attention back to Robin. Taking him to see Stryker right now meant dragging him straight to where the danger was. She didn't even think she'd be able to carry him for that long, without hurting him or herself. She figured the most she could do right now was stay here where they were... at least a little safer than how they would be anywhere else, and hope his condition improved.

Inari kept trying to talk to him in a quiet voice so she didn't alert anyone to where they were, though she wasn't even sure if he could hear her. They were mostly words of comfort rather than anything actually important, saying things like, "I'm not going anywhere... you're going to be okay."

She'd do anything to help her 'brother' right now.

Dr. Rosalind Franklin

With the gun holstered and the soldier about to leave Dr.franklin seized the opportunity and asked if he could escape with the children in tote. At first she thought her words had fallen on deaf ears because he continued to reach for the doorknob, but his hand never turned the knob. "Why?" was all the man said and rather than answer him with a big sentence and a long explanation she simply said. "If you've managed to find this place, that means you know who paid for it, and what they are capable of. Do i need amy other reason than that?" he turned away from the door and looked her dead in the eyes. The look in his eyes somehow seemed to broadcast the blood on his hands and for a moment she wondered again of he was a Valkyrie, he seemed to hold an almost supernatural quality to him. "I mean why help them? What do you have to gain?" he asked with a monotoned voice. the doctor actually got a little pissed at that, but the danger that radiated off of this man seemed to keep her level head in the drivers seat. "What do i have to gain? Everything, i love these children like i would my own, surely even you would understand that." the man was silent and she walked back to her desk to produce their files but when she looked up he was gone. Letting out a sigh she went to her hidden stash of whiskey. "If ever there was a time..." she started as she poured herself a glass with shakey hands.

Present day.

She had hiked for nearly Four miles now sticking to wooded areas as she made her way towards the radio signal that the old man had sent out. Much to her surprise she found herself easily able to do the hike, turns out spending 13 years Caring for 6 super powered youngsters made for one heck of a workout. She had nearly made it to the tree line when she spotted the man hidden well in the brush looking through the scope of the sniper rifle. At first she thought he was just a hunter or something, after all she didn't know the laws on such things in the area. Then a massive boom echoed through the area and a plume of flame erupted from the direction the signal had come from. That was when she pieced two and two together. If what the old man said on the radio was true, that soldier from the facility was here and so were the kids. Which meant that this man, and likely the cause of the explosion, were the Militia of Seraphim. She shuddered as she thought about what else could be with them. So she hid as best as she could and began fishing through her overloaded pack for the sedatives she had gathered in case beca was having trouble sleeping again. Sorry kiddo...she thought to her self as she loaded the vial into the the air compression canister. Drawing the little smoke gun she held the canister just in front of the loading mechanism. When she was about 14ft away she clicked it in letting out a loud hissing sound. But by the time the sniper rolled it was too late. The aerosolized cloud had already engulfed him and one by one his senses shut down at an alarming rate. It only took about a second and a half for him to fall into a deep sleep. "Sweet dreams...oh shit." she exclaimed as she pulled the ski mask off of him to grab his ear comm. It was Donny, the guard who always brought her a muffin when she skipped breakfast. Oh well, no harm no foul right? He was probably the only troop here who wasn't about to suffer long term damage. She pulled out her laptop and cracked open the earpiece connecting it to the laptop. From there she linked the laptop to alvin's barn antenna, a bent antenna, but a working one nonetheless. Lastly she put the laptops music on linked it to the tower and tuned the frequency to be that of an excruciatingly painful loud whistle. "Cover your ears Inari..." she said in a clear voice hoping she would either hear her, of have her hearing dulled enough to not hear the signal. With a final keystroke she broadcasted the ear splitting signal the earpieces of the soldiers and began to approach the tattered warzone of what was surely once a nice farm.

"Cover your ears, Inari."

Inari frowned, hearing a muffled voice that sounded oddly familiar to her. Confused, she glanced over at Robin, wondering for a moment if it was him, but he was as unresponsive as ever. She became paranoid, hoping it wasn't one of the people after them. But why would they tell her to cover her ears? With a slight frown, she amplified her hearing to check and make sure no one else was around just to be safe, and then her world exploded around her and her thoughts scattered.

She screamed at the searing hot pain that immediately shot through her skull, tears pouring down her cheeks as the signal rang out. Everything suddenly felt amplified, her pupils shrinking as everything seemed too bright. The tiniest sounds that weren't drowned out by the screaming tones flooding her ears seemed too loud, and her clothes felt heavy on her skin. The grass felt sharp and the smoke felt like it was choking her. Inari hit the ground and curled into herself, letting go of Robin and clamping her hands over her ears as if that'd help any.

M...om, make it stop...

I'm sca red.

Stop stop stop stop stop stop stop--

Inari couldn't stop shaking and twitching on the ground. She couldn't think, couldn't do anything but yell and cry and occasionally mumble out nonsense and hope everything would stop and stand still. She didn't realize her ears were bleeding from how hard her nails were digging into them.

Please make it stop.

No one was in the barn. Just Ember. Just Ember and all her demons. Ember looked back out towards the house and saw Mrs. Dempsey laying on the ground. Ember raced back out to her. There was ash on her face.

"Wake up!" She choked, shaking Mrs. Demspey frantically. The old lady didn't respond. You killed BOTH of them, bastard!!

Ember's attention was brought to the front yard when she heard a roar. She knew Beca could turn into a tiger, but she had never seen it before. Ember watched, intrigued..... until the girl turned tiger tore out an agent's throat.

Sobbing, Ember ran back into the barn, and then a loud whistling type noise filled her ears. Ember covered her ears and collapsed to her knees. There was nothing Ember could do but scream back at the world around her.

"I WANT NO PART OF THIS!!!!!" She screamed. "I HATE IT!! I HATE ME!! I HATE EVERYONE!!!" Getting up on shaky legs, the girl exited the barn and ran away from the house and barn and all the soldiers around it.

I'm never going back. Never.

Grave watched as Beca began to tear the rest of the agents apart, killing them one by one until three of them had been devastated, their neck torn to shreds. Grave has seen much, much worse in his time, so that's not what shocked him. It was the fact the mission fail was imminent. The total count of agents at the front of the house was only 4. Their numbers had been depleted at such an incredible rate, at this point, Grave considered failure imminent. Shortly after some of his men were killed, more were disabled by Jay, who disarmed them of their weaponry and left them practically useless against these superpowed beings. It seems that the boss was absolutely correct about the outcome. The director who set this up was absolutely unprepared equipment and number wise for the children to be brought back in - regular people hardly stood a chance. With an incredibly experienced soldier and heavy weaponry backing them up at the beginning, it was hopeless. He had no ill thoughts of these children still, though. They were important, and he understood why Beca would kill the agents. They seemed threatening, and the force sent to extract the kids looked as if they had ill intentions - there was no reason to trust any of the agents, or especially Grave.

With a huff of his cigar, Grave brought his small, handheld radio up to where he could speak into it. "All available agents, this mission is a failure! Fall back as soon as possibl-" Before he could finish, an incredibly loud sound began to explode inside his ears. He felt his hearing quickly begin to disappear, though being mostly unaffected through his immunity to pain, he was still stunned. Suddenly being deprived of one of his senses was an oddly bliss feeling, though considering the situation, it was rather grim. The few agents that were around Grave fell to the grounds, shouting in pain as blood was let out through their ruptured eardrums. In fact, all agents on scene were in utter agony, including the snipers. After a few moments, some of the agents began to stand up and attempt to run away, making haste away from the location. They were given the order to back off, and so they did. Grave moved from his rather close proximity to the exploded farm house as well, moving away silently. As he moved, he shouted out.

Reguardless, her attention quickly turned to a new scent from not that far away. One she was all to familiar with. Her tail, which was at the moment the only way she could express anything oyher than growls and roars, and despite how embarrassing it was, her tail made it obvious she was very excited. Dr.Franklin, the woman that Beca considered a mother her entire life, was somewhere on the battlefield. That excitement however was dwafted by an ear splitting screech emmiting from agent's equipment.

Being covering in blood didn't seem to effect their functionality. Her eyes closed tightly, and she began to shake her head, but she couldn't do much else when it came to combainting the noise, but it at least wasn't as bad as it could have been. After a few moments, she began to get use to it, and while it wasn't an ideal feeling, he cold still function better than the remaining agents or...Inari. The younger girl suddenly flashed through her thoughts, and she now wanted the noise to stop. Even if the agents could recover, it would be better for Inari.

Speaking of the agents, whoever began that God awful noise would have been getting the results they wanted. Beca saw that the men were going down, and the man in charge called for a retreat. Looking to Jay, Beca nodded her head to the barn, telling him that's where they needed to go.

A sharp, blood-curdling screech cut across the farm like an electric shock. Inari, with her enhanced sensory hyperawareness, was clearly and immediately hit the worst. Her scream stung Robin's ears more than the mechanical shriek. This wasn't good: Robin realized woth dread what was about to happen, and what that meant the gravity of this situation. The dark-haired teen curled up into a ball, as if to protect herself from further sensory assault, but in doing so dropped Robin to the ground. The younger boy managed to break his fall with his elbow. He looked as though he was barely supporting his weight; shaking like a leaf, sharp joints at odd angles to keep himself from falling prone to the ground... but he seemed much more alert and was breathing with more ease. Quick and irregular, yes, but he was taking full breaths that didn't seem to take much effort anymore

Now, it seemed it was Inari who was helpless, frozen by panic as the world as thrown for a wild and uncontrolled spin. She seemed to be melting down... no. No, this couldn't happen now. They could get sniped at any moment now!

"Inari! Inari!" Robin could hardly speak, his voice hoarse and intrerpsersed by sharp coughs, but his wild blue eyes sparked with an intense urgency. "We... you need to g-g-get out of here! We're about to -- aw, Scheiße, just get out of here! Los mir zue!" He realized Inari wouldn't be able to to carry him out if she wanted to escape, and he... He couldn't run anymore. Honestly, some selfish part of him wanted Inari to stay and comfort him while they both awaited capture or death, and in Inari's current state that might be the only option, but his conscience wouldn't allow it. Tears welled in the corners of his eyes, but he squeezed them shut and turned his head away, his small frame shaking with each shallow breath. "Oh, god..."

Ember kept running for quite some time until she approached a fence. Taking one look back, she reaffirmed her decision to leave, and then climbed over the fence separating her from the yard and the world beyond.

She had no idea where to go, no idea what to expect, but she ran. She ran, blood and fire racing through her veins. Her fire cried to be let out, but Ember wouldn't allow it. Putting the pain in her body into energy to run, Ember bolted far, tears streaming down her face.

But she was too warm now. She felt like she had a fever, her cheeks molten hot to the touch. She had never let herself contain her fire that long. And now her vision was blurring, she breathed smoke....

She collapsed. The last thing she saw was her fire leaking slowly out of her hand, spreading through the grass around her. Then she let her weary eyes close.

Someone was talking- Inari knew that, but the words were lost in the cacophony she was hearing. She wished they'd stop, every syllable seemed to pound their way through her skull, fast and harsh but distant enough that their meaning was lost. She whimpered and pulled on her ears, as if yanking them off would make everything cease. "W-w ha? S-st op... do-do n't www-hy?" Her speech was a jumbled mess of mumbles and stutters, and she wasn't even sure herself what she was saying. All she knew was it hurt.

Her heart was racing from the panic that had taken over, each beat feeling like someone was taking a hammer to her chest. She barely processed the fact that there were heavy feeling footsteps stomping on the ground somewhere, it just blended with the rest of the things her senses were picking up on. It felt like her head was about to split open, and a part of her wished it would just so this torture would end. Inari, still twitching on the ground, tried to imagine being with her mom again. Part of her remembered how awful it was being home with her, but anything would've been better than this.

James W. Stryker
Dempsey farm

As The soldiers began dropping from what ever was assaulting their ears stryker saw the opportunity to open fire on them...but they had been given the order to retreat, and he didn't like shooting people in the back. So he Frogwalked to Jay and Beca. "Thanks for the Backup Jay, Beca. You two really showed your stripes today...pun intended." he said acknowledging their names with respect for the first time as he. A raindrop fell onto his head, followed soon by two more, the downpour was announced by a roll of thunder, as the water began to pout. He nodded his head towards the barn signalling for them to move with him. "Lets get the hell outta here." he said as he made his way to the barn with the two eldest.

Mrs.Dempsey
dempsey farm

The droplets of water pattered on mrs.dempseys face and the groggy echo of a voice began to drag her into consciousness. But by the time she managed to open her eyes all she saw was able to get back to her feet all she saw was the youngest one sprinting off into the woods. She looked back only once her eyes seeming to hone in on Alvin. But she swallowed the grief, there was a time for that later. She rose shakily to her feet and used the shotgun as a kind of cane to follow after the child into the woods.

Dr. Rosalind Franklin
Dempsey farm- Barn

As the doctor made her descent down the hill towards the barn she spotted Ireni Seizing up while Robin sat beside her clearly distraught himself. As she approached she put a gentle hand on robins shoulder and asked him to step aside. Guiding him a safe distance she fired her Gas gun causing Ireni to fall unconscious. Then she pulled her arm over her own shoulder and struggled to lift the unconscious girl. "She will be fine robin, we have to go to the barn so i can shut down the signal before i wake her up." she smiled in an attempt to lessen his stress but she knew that these kids had just went through a hell of a day and doubted such a thing was enough to fix it. The two managed to get inside and out of the rain and it only took Dr. Franklin a few seconds to find the off switch and power off the Radio tower thus turning off the signal. Then a few more to rummage through her first aid kit to find the smelling salts smelling salts to wake her up. Granted it would stink worse to her, it wouldn't cause any pain. "Sorry about that Ireni, didn't have a lot of time to plan that one out."

Meanwhile in Denver...

Panzer
Large Shipment unloading bay

The plane touched down after a long flight and The massive crate holding Panzer was one of the first unloaded. Unfortunately due to a ticket mix up, his handler was not able to skip check in. He found himself caught up in many lines and a long arduous process that wound up taking him at least another 3 hours. By the time he was done and able to get to Panzers crate he found that he wasn't the only one there. The mans blood ran cold when he saw who it was...

Blitz
Large Shipment unloading bay

He had already been there for nearly an hour when panzers Soon to be Ex-Handler arrived. Blitz Smiled as the mans fear became apparent and he asked what he could do for him. Blitz simply grinned and said with a devilishly sweet voice "Well you've been relieved, i will be needing your tablet so i can pass it on to the new handler." the man was
clearly made uncomfortable but couldn't help but grin foolishly. once the tablet was placed in his hand he put it in a foam cast within a metal suitcase. Once it clicked and was secured he smirked and rose to his feet. "Do you know what the best part of my particular "gift" is?" the handler took a step back as electricity seemed to crackle in the air. "The Shock factor." he said as an arc of electricity connected to each hand and leapt at the man burning a clean cut from shoulder to hip causing him to fall in two. He chuckled at his own joke as he dragged the mans pieces to a nearby container and tossed them in. "and now its back to the waiting game..."

"Shit!" Scarlet thought to herself as Ember began to run off, at least it was away from the agents, but who knew what damage she could cause if left alone in her state, to others, or to herself. Scarlet paused for a moment, watching around as the soldiers began to reel in pain from an audible screech in their ears. For a moment, she concerned herself with how it would have effected Inari, but could not dwell on the possibilities for long.

It didn't matter anymore, they were retreating, and so was any chance of them being rescued this day. Though were they really here to rescue them? Or just to reclaim them? Scarlet shook the thoughts from her head, no, Seraphim had saved her life, she should have done more to help them... But she couldn't. Still, there was one way she could still help. Moving her gaze back to Ember, who was now hopping the fence, Scarlet scowled and began to run after her.

Scarlet was fast for her age, the extra oxygen in her blood helped with that, and despite the commotion, she still had plenty of stamina to spare. It didn't take long to catch up, though the thick brush made it easy to lose sight of the girl. Still, Scarlet continued to search, running around for quite some time towards where she believed the child had gone. Eventually one obvious sign arose from the corner of her eyes, a dashing light, fire.

As she ran over, Scarlet found the small body, collapsed and surrounded by ever increasing flames. "You idiot." She thought to herself as she shielded her face with her arms from the flames. Quickly, blood began to pump intensely around Scarlet's body, before erupting from her wrists, shooting toward Ember and hardening as the streams wrapped around her. Scarlet wasting no time in attempting to pull the girl out, doing her best to avoid getting anywhere near to the wildfire... And the flames already present.

Inari, much to her dismay, heard another voice before everything began to fade away.

She wasn't sure what had happened, but was a little disappointed when lucidity returned. Inari gagged slightly when something wretched smelling hit her, before realizing there was a woman standing close to her and she was no longer outside. And... she was soaking wet? Frowning, she sat up to get a better look at the woman, an action she immediately began to regret as pain lanced through her head. She winced, though decided a headache was better than what she had going before, and after composing herself a bit she realized the woman was Dr. Franklin. I'm not... not hallucinating, am I?

"Sorry about that Inari, didn't have a lot of time to plan that one out."

Could hallucinations speak? Inari didn't think so, but she didn't expect to see the doctor here, either. She glanced around, not speaking out of an irrational fear of it causing more pain. She felt... much better, to say the least, asides from a little leftover shakiness along with a headache and exhaustion. Her eyes were still puffy from crying and her ears stung a bit from where her nails were, but that was about it.

She eventually worked up the nerve to quickly mumble, "Th... anks." and was relieved when it didn't cause shooting pain. Shivering a bit from how wet she was, Inari pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around herself. She tried asking one of the many questions buzzing through her head, and though it only came out as "Robin...?" she supposed the gist of what she was trying to ask was there. She stared outside through the large barn doors, watching the rain pour down. Everything up to this point felt like a blur and she couldn't recall many details of the morning, and she wasn't sure if that was because of the severity of the events that had taken place, or from her meltdown. Maybe both.

Inari lacked the energy to formulate most of her questions into actual decent sentences, but they mostly involved things like why Dr. Franklin was here, and how she got here to begin with. How'd she know where they were? Inari figured she was the one who sent out whatever that signal was, and though she tried not to hold it against her it was a little difficult. She had her hearing slightly dulled out of paranoia of something similar happening again, but she still managed to pick up on voices outside, and was frightened at first before realizing who they belonged to.

And then more questions formed, was everyone okay?

Jay was relieved to finally see the agents move away. They’d given up. Good, because he was getting tired. He felt almost.... slow and sluggish, and he didn’t really know why. Of course, he didn’t realise he’d been shot in the back of his shoulder, that he had bullet grazes across his back, or that there was a cut on the side of his face, all trickling blood.

He looked to Beca once the men had ran off, and smiled at her in relief. She was okay. Was everyone else though? His smile turned into a look of worry, distracted enough by that thought that he startled when Stryker approached. Wide eyes blinked at the man, and slowly nodded with a tiny smile, “J-Just wanted to try and keep everyone safe...” he mumbled.

He followed slightly behind the two as they headed for the barn, tilting his head up to the sky when he felt a drop of rain on his head. He was more than relieved that the battle was over, and really wanted to make sure everyone was okay. Especially Inari. After that loud screeching sound, he hoped that she’d toned down her hearing. Hopefully.

Of course, the one person he wasn’t expecting to see was Dr. Franklin. His eyes lit up when he saw the kind woman, and he chirped out her name in excitement. He’d never been so relieved to see her.

8dad418490f6d9e04b2ce5c825610553.jpgThe tiger growled a little. Actually growled upon hearing that pun as her only way to convey a groan. That was just...ut was just bad, okay? However, she could have figured he'd make the odd dad-ish joke from time to time being an old man. But reguardless, they had won that fight, but at what cost? Alvin was dead, the kids were all injured in some way and Beca was turned into...well, a murderer. She had never one tionally hurt someone while in beast mode, and while her actions flashed through her head, she didn't feel remorse. Sorrow or pity maybe for her viticms and their families, but no remorse. Those men were trying to hurt her. Hurt her family. Gently shaking her head, she licked away the blood she could, before following after Stryker.

Beca limped as she walked with Jay and the old man to the barn, a combat knife still sticking out of her left side. But her concern was on the others more than herself. She'd be fine once she shifted back, but the scent of Jay's blood made her emit a small whine of sorts, before the tiger pushed her head under one of his hands. He could lean on her if he needed too, but she figured he probably wouldn't.

Once reaching the barn, she could barely stop herself from quickly approaching Dr.Franklin, practically giving the gentlest and cleanest hug she could manage as a tiger sorta covered in blood. It was quick though as she knife dug a little deeper causing her to drop. But she still couldn't shift back yet. She didn't really want anyone in that barn to witness her boobs, even if they were great. But she'd shift backs nd be covered in blood, so maybe after getting a little cleaned up somehow.

Anyway, she looked around the barn to see who all was hurt. Robin was still breathing despite being in a rather beat up state. Inari looked to be recovering from that noise, Mrs.Dempsy looked okay. Jay was injured, but that should be attended soon, and Styrker didn't seem to have gotten hurt. Ember was...Beca looked around once more, Ember wasn't there. Neither was Scarlett.
