Maybe you if you stated that he was feared by his peers because of his reputation for being a delinquent or something along those lines. It leaves less of the misunderstanding that he is feared because of his strengths.
Very good point. I had thought I had made that clear. But obviously not, so I shall try to edit this myself, and make it clear. Hope it doesn't mess up my bbcode

Ok, I will admit its been a while since I've watched the anime. My memory is also poor. Plus, when i say most feared. Its not necessarily because of his power level. That does factor in, but the main reason he's so feared is because of his bad reputation. Which arose from rumors spread about him. So he's feared, because people think he's some kind of criminal. Plus he does lead a gang...so it's not far off. As for his background, if its really a major issue i can try to edit it some. But i didn't even put the coding on it, so that would take a while to redo things.

In raildex natural-born espers are super rare. Rare to the point that there were only 50 worldwide. They were referred to as 'gemstones'. Based on your bio your guy would be one of these 50 gemstones since he was born into a family of espers and trained to be an esper prior to going to academy city.

Yes, I've read your prior statement about this. I'll leave whether that's ok to celtic. If not I'll have rework a good portion if his bio.

You character looks amazing though. 10/10
Awesome thanks

I have been forced agai'nst my will asked nicely by Celtic to make the Discord. It gives us a nice place to interact with each other while Celtic works on getting some stuff sorted in finishing up accepting characters. I'll try and make it look nicer and add stuff as needed, though its a start for now. ^^

Come on in! Just give everyone a poke that its around.

Well, I hadn't read your cs yet as of making the post you used this one to reply too. I simply based my suggestion off of what everyone else was saying.

While in the works of finishing up one of my two characters, I've hit a bit of a wall. While coming up with the abilities for my gravity user I have a bit of a conundrum. His abilities allow him control of gravity around him. Now, this ability does have some distinct weaknesses, but if you aren't accelerator or one of those weaknesses, he is a powerful and daunting opponent due to the nature of his power. This is because gravity effects anything with mass.

Now, to weaken him a bit I came with this. He can influence the gravity in a 50-meter field around himself set as the focal point. The closer you're to him the stronger these effects and the more distance the weaker the effects are. However, it isn't that he is creating gravity and setting himself to be the focal point (much like a planet), but instead, he controls the gravity of earth. As such he wouldn't have these weaknesses. So my other idea would be to have a smaller field about 25 meters in which he has complete control of gravity, but once again I encounter the issue of his powers being almost overpowered in that sense.

I would like to know what do most of you think about this? I guess Celtic will have the most influence on this decision as well, but I would like to know what you all think on this as well. Part of me prefers the latter, but then I feel like that is borderline overpower which isn't what I am aiming for. I am aiming for balance.

I really appreciate the attempts to make sure you're character balances well in the RP. I can understand it can be hard some times, especially when you've got an idea you like going. One of the first things I'd ask is what level Esper you plan for them to be? Then there's something I'd like to clarify. So, basically your plan is that he can alter existing sources of gravity, not generate new ones? One of the suggestions I'd make is that the further they alter the gravity, the more concentration it takes, which could then create a natural barrier so that you don't get them just completely crushing someone or just sending them flying into space. Another idea would be that they have to maintain that concentration. Similar to the idea that you have an attack as opposed to a lingering battlefield condition, if that makes sense.

Others are welcome to give suggestions as well.

It will be fascinating if Angel and your OC go against each other since Angel can delete the gravity around him.

What you mentioned does make sense. I just took shower and thought of something similar. To start off, he will be a level four esper. I prefer the ability that controls existing gravity. In a sense, he takes over whatever forces of gravity that is within his AIM field. I have other abilities thought out that are more support like in nature. However, as for attacks, it would most likely vary in size and power. The larger and more powerful the attack is the more concentration it would take as you stated. An example of one of his abilities I came up with already is this.

It's called Graviton Lance (on a side note, this has nothing to do with Gravitons. If it did that would be truly overpowered; if you wanted to fight accelerator that's the ability you need.). My character focuses on an area in his AIM field to release a sudden increased force of gravity. However, before this attack hits the area being targeted will have a slight loss of gravity. This will cause small objects with less mass to start floating.

Whereas if he used something more large scale it would take a lot of concentration. Such as increases the pull or decreasing the pull within the field, this would take a lot of concentration from him to use and keep going. It would be draining for him.

I would like to ask that you elaborate a bit more on what you mentioned if you don't mind. I get the gest of what you were saying, but the big picture still escapes me.

Actually, this is a great idea for balancing the power. Controlling gravity can be really overpowered and many of the solutions my brain is giving me would put you at lvl 3 or below, but this might actually be a pretty interesting start. Allow your character to control only a certain area at a time, from within their maximum area, and make it so there is a delay with a clear warning between activating the effect and it actually happening. If you opponet has an appropriate chance to dodge, then the problem is largely solved

That's the idea. However, the nature of his power would also grant him the ability to alter his enter field, but there will be some form of limitation such as him having to concentrate more than the other technique mentioned. One technique I have thought of is him turning his field into a zero-g zone. This would be to throw his opponents off and disorient them. However, once they are out of his AIM field they won't be affected. What I mentioned is a solution to something, but not everything. I am waiting for Celtic to reply back to my reply to elaborate more on what he was saying. Thank you for the input though. I appreciate it.

Oh, you may have misunderstood, I was saying you could do that /(the clear warning and delay thing) , but for every aspect of his power, not just one move.

Well if his AIM field is 25 meter or similar there isn't much time to escape. That is my problem here. It's an idea for the more precise attacks. Maybe, I'm over thinking things here.

Which is why I said "in a specific area". If his AIM field is 25 meters, then maybe 3, 4 meters with 20 seconds of warning

I think taking what you said and what Celtic mentioned and using both to limit him is the best plan for me here.

I'm glad my level 3 female esper's ability is Telekinesis. Nothing too complicated there, nor any need to overthink things. I just wanted to ensure she can survive with all these level 4 esper and magicians, but with my other character around to protect her, there shouldn't be any problem. But I am going to take a break; I am hungry.
