Fantasy The City of Myths

Silas Blackwood

"You'll be the death of me, I swear." He retorted playfully. Shaking his head with theatrics. "Which is exactly why you should relax." He smiled in response. Only when she went to sit down, did Silas join her. Pulling up a chair. "That's good, I'm sure it'll be a sellout." He enthused, till waving his hand - "I finished off that table for the neighbours, but apart from that a few chairs are halfway done. Thrilling as it sounds." Chuckled Silas, yet when she appeared fatigued there was no doubt worry appeared in expression. "Is the baby kicking again?" He questioned, adoringly leaning upon his loosely curled fist before reaching out and placing his hand upon the bump. Gently caressing the small centre of life with the face of an overjoyed father. "Not my fault it went from a backrub to a baby." Silas grinned, before bringing his forefinger and thumb close together - only a centimeter apart. "Maybe just a little." Nevertheless he appeared to adore the unborn child. Even going as far as to put his ear on her stomach. "I can't wait to meet our little man or girl." Blackwood beamed, sitting upright. "I swear, I've never been more excited. They'll probably get their mothers good looks." He happily sighed. "Which reminds me, hows Aspero? Has he been round lately? After all, he'll be a halfsibling soon enough."

With the pile of wrapped boxes in his arms, Hassan hurried down the street. Retracing his steps prior to leaving Rosaria's. Nevertheless, he was on a mission to deliver, and no doubt he'd make sure he got there. Cancelling the rest of his schedule (considering he appeared to be more interested in running back and forth than staying in one place.)

Down the cobbled alley for a shortcut, he emerged into the residential area, glancing about till recognising the doctors home and approaching. After sidling up to the door and balancing the boxes in one hand he rapped his knuckles on the door. "Isabelle?" Hassan called loudly.

The moment the door opened, Hassan beamed. Causing creasing up near his eyes, to crinkle and accentuate his initial smile. For a second, the genie seemed far older than his current human form was seen. Yet it was gone with the blink of an eye. "Food indeed! I'm glad to see you've been practicing your signing over the afternoon." He complimented, tipping his head before stepping into the house past her, approaching the kitchen to put the packages down on the side. "Well just remember to not let me forget, and we'll discuss it properly. Hm?" Hassan gave a light laugh. "Oh! And you must thank Mrs Bluestone. She runs one of the local cafes, who gave you all this. And - shes offered cooking lessons. But ... considering our demon friend, I'm not in favour of you attending his workshop. If you're desperate - I'll have to accompany you. On the other hand, theres many workshops you can attend in place of it." He remarked.

"Certainly, we'll go out. Just ask whenever you'd like, and I'll see if I can pick you up or not." Hassan shrugged with a kind smile. "And you'll meet her in time, I promise." The genie began taking the boxes out the bags. "So this is dinners, lunches, a ton of tea and dessert." He explained, before turning to her with a light sigh. "It isn't a sentence for life, and its not a bad thing. Sometimes the way people phrase it - it sounds scary or condeming mental health." Al-Zahrani spread out his hands. "Therapy is a tool used to analyse your mental happiness and health. Dig up forgotten memories and place them chronologically to help the patient. Or in some cases, to help them acknowledge past trauma and move on from it - so it doesn't haunt them or have a subconscious effect throughout their life. For comparison, look at two ways you manage your physical health: a visit to your doctor versus working out at the gym. You go to a physician to treat a medical problem: You feel symptoms and seek treatment to return to your “normal” state. By contrast, you go to the gym to get healthy, achieve a higher physical potential, and generally make a good life better. Two different approaches to health, one focused on illness and the other wellness. Therapy is unique in that it acts as the psychological equivalent of both the doctor and the gym. We go to therapy to treat problems as well as improve an already decent life."

"Then we'll make them go away, together," Hassan reassured. Patting her shoulder momentarily. "And yes, she did. A nice surprise, especially for you to settle in." Alas, the genie shook his head. "She doesn't know, but I doubt that'll stop her. After all, she's a lovely woman and if it gets too much just take your notebook. Hm?" He tilted his head. "Just say the word and I'll give you a wish if it'll cheer you up. There's no reason to be scared. I do anything from wings to gold. Although the wings will have to last you a day or I fear I'll get in trouble with Rosaria." He chuckled.

Whilst talking to his wife, out the corner of his eye he noticed the little urchin. A young girl who appeared to be slipping baked goods into her palms. Normally he'd let it pass, but the child evidently had already helped herself to cake and sweets by the looks of her. "Hey!" He called, taking chase - and unfortunately abandoning Stell for the moment during their conversation. Nevertheless, he leapt after Avery with surprising nimbleness - something which he hadn't quite exercised since his last stay in a forest - decades ago. One might even say a century. Not far from the shop front he caught her, his palm massive in proportion to her tiny arm. Wrapping around it not painfully, but firm in a scolding sort of manner. The expression of disappointment on his expression. "Young lady, what are you doing taking things that are not yours? People work hard to make those you know." He lectured. "I have half a mind to phone your parents and let them know exactly what you've been up to." Silas wagged his finger and feigned a scowl. "If you want something, a please and thankyou might suffice if you don't have the money."

His features began to soften, watching the little girl dissolve into tears. Silas crouched down somewhat and checked to see whether or not she was conning him. But in the end he somewhat took the child into his arms for a small hug. Engulfing the child behind his well-muscled arms in a cocoon of safety. "Hush, hush. You should have said you needed help! Now, look at what I've done, making you cry!" He exclaimed softly. Pulling away to instead take her hand. "You better come in and we'll make you something. Wheres your friend? Do they need help? Or are they gone?" Blackwood questioned, before resting his hand on her soft blonde locks and gently stroking them back - "I can't bring back anyone, sweetheart." Leading the tearful girl into the cafe's warm and whimsical surroundings. "Look, how about something healthier than eating all that cake. A sandwich perhaps?" He questioned with a small smile, sitting her down in one of the tables near Stell. Glancing toward his wife as if to alert her to the child now in their midst. "I can even cut the crusts off."

"It's quite alright to miss your parents. I'm sure you loved them very much." Silas replied pleasantly. "But no, no scary places. Not now." However, Silas began to wonder - if he couldn't send her back to the orphanage - where could he send her? "A sandwich is coming up!" He enthused, going behind the counter to begin prepping the bread into neat little crustless triangles, brimming with filling. Then, for the sake of it, he whipped up a milkshake - strawberry flavoured with cream and a singular cherry. Placing it down in front of her delicately, and adjusting the cup so it was easier to drink from. "Stay with me? Well, that pretty woman over there is my wife. But - I'm unsure how getting carers papers with you as a runaway. I suppose I could always call a genie to help - one owes me a favour." He ran his fingers across his bearded jaw in thought.

"mhm.."stell took a deep breath exhaling and gave a small nod in response. "and what to you mean it's not your fualt? it's total your fualt." she told him with a amused giggle and leaned over giving her husband a small kiss. She sighed when he laid his head on her bump running her dainty fingers through his dark name of hair looking down at him. "Me too..though I'm sure they'll be more likely to take after you more than myself...after all aspero looks exactly like his minus a few minor details.. " she murmured softly petting silas' head lovingly. She planted a kiss on his forehead. "He's been busy taking care of some things in underland..he'll come back when he's ready." She told her husband in thought about her son. She tapped lightly enjoying the company of her beloved man. That was all too short though as there was a small child stealing treats and silas decided to take care of the situation. she watched quietly as she stayed seated observing everything. she listened to their conversation and looked away covering her mouth to stifle a sound of amusement at how her bear of a husband was behaving with the little girl. it was pretty adorable. "you know you could always asked me my opinion, also i'm more than capable to handle paperwork,silas..though hassen might be better to ask if you want to make things easier." she told her husband as she got up carefully and came over to the table in which the small girl sat at and sat in a chair across from her eyeing her with those aqua eyes. she then smiled."avery,hm? it's a very nice name..." she told her smiling and looked down when the little girl asked. she then pointed to her belly. "ah..that's because there's a baby in there, sweetie. " she answered simply.

"Let's not get too hasty now - I mean, we can't pick up every child who comes in off the street." Silas sat beside Stell, his skin still alive with tingles from kisses. Of course, he was the easiest man to persuade when it came to children or animals. He didn't have much capability to say no in situations that regarded them. Honestly, one might think the oversized bear of a man to be far more frightening - which was true. He'd thrown his fair share of punches and gotten lectured for it. But nobody quite expected him to be able to make a mean strawberry milkshake on the side.

"We do have one already on the way." Blackwood spoke gently, as to not upset the young girl on the other side of the table between them. A laugh managed to escape only after she questioned the size of Stell's stomach, but was stifled behind a cough and his hand. "Obviously Avery here is up for adoption, but that's a big decision to make. And it's only right we do so together." He smiled. Meeting Krystellia's gaze. "A trial run wouldn't hurt of course if we can handle another little tyke running about till the baby comes." With a long exhale, he tipped his head back and ran his rough palm through his hair.Almost as if retracing the steps her own hands had gone to caress his locks.

He rested his hands on the table and puffed out his chest with an inhale of air. "I suppose I could take more time off at the Workshop and help out. It won't hurt my schedule too much if I make a few half-days happen. I might get home later on big projects, but being around for the important things is what counts. And after the baby, you'll need your rest."

Hananya had just stepped out of the butchers and was making her way down the street, ignoring most people as she went by. It was a fairly average day. She woke up, took care of her flowers, fed the cats, left the house and now was just leaving the butchers with a few bags which were full of different kinds of meat. She couldnt eat vegetables. At this point she just wanted to get home. Her stomach rumbled as she went, she had forgotten to eat breakfast this morning and she was starting to feel it. She just wanted to eat or she would go crazy. In a bad way. She was just wearing a pair of dark shorts and a huge red hoodie. She couldnt find any shoes that would fit her, not that she liked them anyway.

She was making her way down the street, she suddenly felt a harsh blow on her back. Growling, she turned around to see a older couple standing there. They both seemed to be elves of some kind.
"Um... can I help-?" she asked, her ears flicking back.
"You beast!" The woman pointed her finger accusingly at her, "We should have known it was you!" At this point a few people were looking. Despite being at least three foot taller than the couple, Han couldnt help but be intimidated.
"What are you talking about, I didn't do anything!" Han grumbled, her hackles rising on the back of her neck. She hated this. This is why she didnt go out!
"We found our cat in the front garden almost chewed to death!" one of them snapped, "And you just happen to be here!" Hananya blinked several times before frowning.
"Look, I didn't touch your cat! There are stray dogs all over the place-!"
She did not get a chance to finish when the couple continued to bombard her with accusations which seemed to attract a crowd. Hananya looked between them all, not able to deal with all of this. What was their problem? She wanted to just go home! Was that such a crime!?

AMBER

The young girl Amber walked around the town looking for food. She was hungry and knew that there was at least one other person that was as well. She came across a cafe; she stood in the doorway looking around. She smelled the food, but knew that Getting it would be very difficult without being seen. She saw Avery with two adults and quickly hid behind the doorway. ~What did she get herself into...~

Cat had just got back from destroying a children slave ring and pushes the couple and some of the others out of the way and then grabs the lion woman's hand and jumps to the roof with her and says" wow talk about bug up their bum and your right there's lots of stray dogs and dog men and such so i could of been any of them, Elves are one of the most uptight and stuck up creatures in this city and some are ready to accuse before having any proof". ' she's not bad looking and i'm thirsty and broke till i cash my check in and right now i'm craving some nice warm milk and something to eat, we have to keep away from this crown before they try and do something like throw bottles and such at us'.

Hananya was on the verge of completely losing it when she suddenly felt her hand (paw?) being grabbed and she felt like she was suddenly dragged upward, making her yowl and lose her grip on her bags so they dropped onto the ground. As she landed on the roof, she was surprised it did not break beneath her. She huffed a few times before looking at whoever did it, a young looking man with dark hair. "What on ea-?" she snarled just to be interrupted as he seemed to back her up. Dog men? She wanted to scoff, she hadn't seen any of them around here. "Save your breath." She huffed, looking away, still pretty unhappy with her current situation, "I've heard all of it before. People've been making those comments ever since I was young, it doesn't matter." She shook her head a little and folded her arms. Her tail swished angrily as she thought about it. She looked back down seeing the bags that had fallen. There went today's food. Great... she looked at the male, though it was more out of curiosity now rather than annoyance. Being hassled was nothing new but being well... saved was something totally different. Cat gently sighs and then says" I feel bad about you losing you stuff so i'll take the check at the merc office for the bounty of wiping out a child slave ring and then i'll replace your food and such, and i get you used to it but that's still no excuse to be that ignorant and besides you seem like you could do with a friend". Cat lets go and then jumps down a back ally and waits for the lioness to follow him because he knows the back ally's like the back of his hand.

Meanwhile rengal is somewhere in the ice dragon domain collecting ingredients and other useful things for his shop and possibly gifts for the girls and women and says to himself" i'm well round man with no darkness and i know a workshop is badly ventilated and all the other rubbish he and that stupid dream demon banged on about". " Just because i don't molly coddle doesn't mean i don't care and if you can't function without people always around you then it shows you never had the strength to try again". Crystal stood in her pawn shop in her normal silence, carefully observing. A demon had entered her shop and was browsing some of her many wares. She did have a large array of things, after all she is a dragon. Keeping treasure is in her blood for pete sake! Though all the things in her store are old pieces that she didn't want anymore. To her, they weren't worth a scale on her normal body. Though once the demon entered the silence was broken; however, Crystal herself remained quiet. Watching him. Listening to him grumble on about something that she didn't really understand.
So she walked over to him, barely making any noise. Standing behind him she tilted her head and her eyes seemed to droop a bit, as if she were tired. "Need help?" Crystal asked in her quiet, gentle, slow tone. Chunks of white hair hanging in front of her bluish-purple eyes.

A child slave ring what on earth was he talking about? The beast sighed and looked down at him as he mentioned replacing her food. Her ears flicked back as she thought about it. Part of her want to say no and move on as if it didn't happen but she got interrupted by another grumble from her stomach, which would have drowned out anything she managed to get out.

It was his next comment that made her annoyed. "Ignorant? How am I the ignorant one?" She growled, looking over him, "I'm not the one going around harassing folk!" But as she said this, he had already vanished. Hananya growled and rolled her eyes before jumping down after him. It was only the food she was interested in. Leo Radomir Leo Radomir
