Realistic or Modern Apocalypse

"Hmm.... oh yeah there's that bag of stuff that I st.... found." she pointed into the room she just came from. "In there. Ack, nothing really important, don't worry about it." She waved a hand in a dismissive manner before using her crutches to lift her whole weight as she swung a little, "Oh and I got these." she reached around her back and took out her machete which she dropped on the floor along with her gun before taking a few steps back. "But that's it. Though... you're free to check me if you're unsure." she raised her eyebrows a few times but stopped there. She didnt really want to piss this guy off too. S n o w S n o w

Cole Bishop

"Yeah?" Cole looked blankly at her. "Like what? Standing around waiting for Will to divide up the food? Oh, I know. Maybe the snow outside needs shoveling," He shoved his hands in his pockets. "And I'm not following you. We both want to go downstairs. What am I supposed to do? Take the window?"

Allegra Sauvagess

"As a matter of fact, that'd be great." Allegra stated, continuing the trip down the stairs. She stopped in her tracks when she saw a zombie idle in the middle of the hallway. Her hand twitched, ready to fire, but she remembered what Will told her about wasting ammo. She put her Uzi aside and pulled out her bat.
Approaching the zombie, she just straight up bopped it in the head, making it tumble to the ground. Ally thought she saw a surprised expression on it's face, but she didn't have time to ponder on it. She channeled her irritation into her arms and began smashing its head in with the bat, her irritation becoming frustration which soon became anger. By the time she was done, she had painted the walls, her parka and her face red.
She turned to Collier, tired, but still enraged, and wiped off the blood from her face. "How are you even with the group anymore anyways?" She asked, beating the head of the bat against the ground to remove the chunks of meat and brain from it. "The only reason why you wanted in in the first place was because we had food."

Will Harris

Will picked up the the machete, but left the gun. "You can keep that. You should have something to defend yourself with, at least. I'll keep the blade until I know I can trust you," he didn't acknowledge her comment about stealing. If it was from the supplies Kate or Nikita had, he doubted that she would have made it out of the room alive, and everyone else didn't have much to take in the first place. He looked her over again. He hadn't searched Anastasiya, so he wouldn't do it to her either. "What were you doing before Nikita found you? Do you live here?" He gestured to the upper floors. "Or, were you here for another reason?"

Rumble scratched her neck as the man questioned why she was in the building in the first place. "Nope. I'm the type of gal who likes to roam around, I'm never in one place, I roam from town to town." she stopped there otherwise she'd probably recite the whole song and bore him to death. Thinking for a second, she shrugged at his second question. "Hm, I was just rooting about. Not that there was anything worth taking." She shrugged, "Then again nobody nowadays has shit worth anything." she blinked before watching him take her machete away but giving her back the gun. She shrugged and took the gun back. She looked at Will before raising an eyebrow, "So... what do we do- Ow!" She growled, feeling another hunger pang, what was it with these and coming at the worst times!? Heh... coming. Cole Bishop

Cole took a few steps back when Antonym went full Rambo on the undeserving zombie, until it was at least dead three times over. He grimaced at the spots of brain liquid on his shoes. He glanced up for a second and immediately looked away from the mess she'd made. "You sure you got it? Might want to hit it a few more times. I think I can still make out it's face a little," he tried to sound sarcastic, but instead it came out quiet and dry. He cleared his throat, stepping around the body and moving further down the stairs. He rolled his eyes at her question. "Yeah, I'll surely be able to survive better on my own without any food than with the group. Great plan. Want me to cut off my arm so you can cook it later before I go? Because the rest of me will definetly be going to waste."

Will Harris

Will took a step forward immediately, but then stopped himself before he moved into her personal space. He had to take a second to remind himself that not everything that happened to everyone was his responsibility. It wasn't even decided if she was going to be part of the group yet. He glanced at her leg, assuming that was what was hurting her. "How exactly did that happen? Nikita apparently didn't think that was an important detail." He managed to slip the machete into his old crossbow strap. It was a little loose, but it would do for now.

Rum bit her lip as the pang finally seemed to pass, "Sorry it's just... been ages since I last ate." she managed to get out before looking down at her injured foot. She tilted her head at Will as he questioned what happened to her foot in the first place. "Well, what do you think? My dumbass managed to drop down a hole. Of course I managed to do that. As if I could do it if I tried." she smirked before looking behind her, wondering if anyone else was around. It didnt look like it. She swung from her crutches again lazily, whistling some random tune that came into her head. S n o w S n o w

Will Harris

Will nodded. There wasn't much else to say. They were all hungry, and he couldn't promise that she would get a share of the food they had either. "You should meet the others first, before anything is decided," he gestured for her to follow him. Last he saw, Frankie had disappeared into another one of the apartments. Will stopped in front of the last door at the end of the hall, noting the way it looked like it had been pried open. He pushed it open, hoping that it made enough noise so she wouldn't be startled. He frowned a little when he saw her and Liam sharing a can of peaches, but he couldn't blame them for not waiting for the others. He took a step to the side, revealing Rumble.

"I wanted to introduce you to Rumble, since she might be traveling with us from now on. Nikita found her outside, and patched her up," he turned back to Rumble. "I'm not sure who you met before, but this is Frankie and that's Liam."

Rum simply followed Will into another room but once the door was open, her eyes widened a little as she recognized Liam. Oh yeah... him. Now under any other circumstances she would have taken this opportunity to say something to annoy him but having Will right next to her, she guessed that was a pretty bad idea. She simply looked around the room and gave the pair a short wave, "Yo." She responded before looking at the two. They were eating peaches which made her mouth water a little. And Rum didn't even like peaches but she didnt care at this point. She kept glancing at Liam, hoping he wouldn't freak out. The last thing she needed was for Will to misinterpret it and think she had tried to hurt him or something. S n o w S n o w Fizz Fizz spacient spacient

And then they were caught red-handed by Will. Aww whatever, Frankie was literally starving enough to the point Nikita was worried about her health and wellbeing. She would take and eat these peaches and spam without remorse, then give the soup to the others later. She looked up at Will and the stranger, thinking back on what Liam had told her. So, this was the pervert who scared off Liam. She didn't look very threatening, especially with the silly plank holding her up as a crutch. Still, she didn't want Liam to bug out, so she scooted a little closer to him and gave Rum a little wave, "Hey."

She didn't know this girl, she didn't think the group needed any more people. This would be three new people in one day. She knew that even with the extra food they all found today that these girls would cripple them. She didn't know what Will was thinking by allowing all these new people to join their ranks at the exact same time

Nikita Vissarionovich

Nikita walked away from the two and went further down the hall. He went ahead and looked in every room he could, trying to find a place that he could stay in and get some rest while able to work without much distractions. But it seemed that almost every single room either was completely destroyed with everything broken one way or another, had pools of blood in them with dead bodies or had the door destroyed which defeated the purpose of having a room, at least for Nikita. He then came across one door that was closed. Nikita tried to open it but it seemed that it was locked from the inside. Looking at the keyhole, he realised that the key was still in the keyhole, and for as long as it was, he could not pick the lock. Reaching into his bag, Nikita pulled out his notebook. He then tore a page from it and pushed half of it through the bottom of the door, aligning it directly under the key. He then opened his pen and used the thin tube of ink to push the key out of the keyhole. It acted as Nikita predicted and fell right on the paper he had laid there. Afterwards, he retrieved the key, put back his notebook and pen after reassembling it, followed by him opening the door without much trouble. Before entering, he yelled out to Will to inform him of his position. "If anybody requires me, I shall be in the room of the seventh door on the right."

S n o w S n o w

He was greeted by a cold temperature as the window of the room had been open ever since the person who lived here left. Nikita figured that with the door locked, there was obviously only one way out and he was looking right at it. He walked over to the window and then looked down to see a man at the bottom in a pool of blood. The confusion of how he did not turn into an infected instantly went away as Nikita saw the pistol the man had in his hand, along with a bullet hole at his temple. Nikita closed the window and then moved to the desk of the man which had quite a few things on it. He saw three candles, a notebook, some bullets, a pack of cigarettes, a lighter and a piece of paper. Upon closer inspection, the paper appeared to be the last thing written by the man before he took his own life. A message of some sort to somebody that the man cared about perhaps. Or a something else that Nikita could not be asked to care about. But he decided to skim through it anyways, in case the location of some sort of stash containing supplies was written in it.

Well, Larissa,

I doubt you'd ever find this note since you are too much of a fucking coward to take a simple step or two outside your little safe house down there. But if for some reason you did find this, I want you to know I spent my final moments alive with nothing but hate for you. The last few days we spent together were not ones I even want to recall to now that it is over for me. Your set-in-your-ways attitude and selfish ways had all told me that staying with you any longer was suicide. Despite that, I still believed you every time you told me that if we bunkered down it would all be okay, and that leaving our base would mean certain death. I cannot understand how I even loved you in the first place.

Leaving was one of the hardest things for me. I was not ready to take another step out in the snow out of fear for what might happen. You just gave that extra motivation which I have to thank you for. You were going so strong the first year. But you let this whole thing change you. We are supposed to be different. We are supposed to be more than mindless creatures wandering around for survival. Unfortunately, that is exactly what you became. I just wanted more from life and staying with you meant that I could not. But I guess you were right in the end. Trying to leave this town did indeed kill me. Still better than spending another day with you.

Good Luck, Frank.

Nikita was completely unaffected by the letter emotionally. He was more bothered about how it was a waste of time for him to read. He found it absolutely ridiculous how some people saw the concept of love in such a high regard. This letter was a prime example of how a simple biological mechanism that triggers in the brains of common animals of the world is one of the most self destructive things ever. But with it being so innate in everyone, Nikita had wondered why he was not quite attracted to anybody at that moment. That thought lost its place in his head as he disregarded it as a result of his incredible mental fortitude and his absolute control over himself.

Nikita then took the paper and left it at the edge of the table, which was followed by him taking the bullets and two of the three candles. He left the most molten one on the desk and the lit it with the lighter that was already there. Nikita had fire steel and a flint with him but he preferred to use the lighter as it was much less of a bother. He then opened the pack of cigarettes to find that only a few had been used up. After a quick count, 17 cigarettes were left. The temptation to smoke one at that very moment was too great for him to overcome. Especially with all of the stress that had been collecting up in his mind the entire day, taking their toll on him that moment.

He lit the candle he had left on the table with the lighter before pocketing it and placing the pack of cigarettes in his bag. He then used the flame of the candle to light one of the cigarettes he had taken. After he had done so, he drew in a large amount of smoke in his first breath before exhaling it all. Leaving his bag on the chair near the desk, Nikita grabbed a book and then laid on the king sized bed. He then continued to read his book while smoking.

Felix The Stray
The sun was slowly sinking, surrendering all hope to the gloom. "God damn the apocalypse," This phrase seemed to echo in the back of his skull for some time. As the shadows began to grow the wind became more hostile. This gust was determined to Isolate Felix from his goals but the survivor would not accept defeat so easily. He was not going to let the likes of some petty wind prevent him from his objective. He was going to sleep soundly tonight with a jug of liquor by his side. This thought was enough to fuel him through ice and snow. It was not long until Felix trailed the group back to a small apartment complex. The complex wasn't much to look at, winter has definitely taken its toll on the building. The survivor soon made himself a little nest in a building only parallel to the complex. He resided in a cramped bedroom, it was quite bare. Furniture was flipped and the paint on the walls were faded and peeling. The carpet was matted and the hardwood was scratched, It was empty.

He softly closed the door behind him and reinforced it with a metal bed frame. He was able to observe the group clearly without the assistance of his scope. Felix watched eagerly as figures crossed by the window. His gaze was soon drawn by a man of short stature. This man seemed to be addressing the wounds of a young woman, he could faintly hear her cry's as the man did so. It was not until later he noticed a woman shimming up a pole? The young women simply jumped out the window and started climbing up the pole. Things only became interesting once she reached the top, unfortunately for her, she never made it to the top. Felix was sure the woman would not recover from this mistake but to his surprise, she managed. She dangled from a window sill, but this window lead to the makeshift hospital. The doctor seemed startled at this abrupt action.

The doctor was quick with his actions and pulled out his gun. He was about to pull the trigger but he hesitated. What changed his mind? Now the doctor was pulling the girl through the window, this was a peculiar action indeed. He would have to keep this in mind it might serve as useful leverage. The bottle of moonshine soon became apparent, it was glorious. This bottle was soon swept up by the doctor, he took a couple of sips of the ambrosia before passing it to the bedridden girl. She took a big gulp of the stuff but it was quite clear that this girl couldn't hold her liquor. She quickly choked and spat out the substance, exorcising it from her body. Felix scowled at the sight of this, how could she disrespect such a pure substance.

It was not long after this two of the figures left the room along with the moonshine. The survivor sighed, this was going to be a lot more work then he originally anticipated.

"That's fine, you don't need to be chatty in the apocalypse .It makes it easier to let out whatever's goin on in that dome of yours though." Liam smiled at the comment, he calmed down slightly and was starting to feel more at ease beside Frankie. "Yeah, it does..." He was about to ask another question when the door opened and from it Will and Rumble came in. "I swear you're just following me now." Liam whispered to himself unsarcastically. Everywhere he went, Rumble seemed to pop up of no where and subconsciously bother him.

Liam held a smile as Frankie and Rumble said their greetings, although his mental state was slowly falling apart. She's joining the group was the only thing that circled around his mind, as if unable to accept it. Another question soon bounced around his mind however. Why does Rumble keep glancing at him? Was she already planning something in her against him? Was she going to show up in the middle of the night and do whatever people like her does? Whatever it was, it didn't matter - Liam was completely dazed at this point. His barrage of thoughts would soon implode inside his mind.

Anastasiya's wide eyes locked onto Colette's as the foreign words made their way into her ears. She smiled brightly as the other girl laughed and completed her sentence. With a nod, she slowly inched her way from Colette's side and towards the couch, periodically looking back. "I should be able to make it, yeah." She softly shook the backpack and let relief fill her soul. "Thank you." And from there, she made her ever-so epic journey to said couch.

Rum could tell that Liam was bothered by her. She was not quite sure how to react really. She looked between the pair several times, trying to avoid looking at Liam for too long. She... kinda wanted to wink at him to see how he'd react but that was really not a good idea. Rum was not so sure about joining this group now that she thought about it. They seemed to want to stifle her. Not intentionally but she could not really.... emote around them. Rum knew herself that most people saw her as a loud, annoying and obnoxious pain in the ass. Well they were pretty spot on about that, she wasn't going to deny it. The fact that Will seemed eager to let her in in the first place came as a shock. Sooner or later they were just going to get sick of her and want her gone. Why wouldn't they? She sighed and looked at the girl, "Hey. Sorry I barged in. Was sneaking around the upper floors and well, I guess karma came and bit me in the ass." she gestured to her bandaged foot before glancing at Liam for a split second. If anything, being around him was really making her anxious. Every fibre of her being wanted to be snarky and annoying like she would normally be but she just couldnt. Could she really be in a group that, frankly, probably does not want her to be herself? Fizz Fizz S n o w S n o w spacient spacient

Will Harris

Will had expected the disapproval from Frankie, but he didn't think Liam would care. He even looked a little disturbed. Since he hadn't seen Allegra or Cole yet, he had assumed Rumble had been talking about them earlier. He glanced at her, noticing the way she kept looking at him. "Frankie," he said suddenly, moving closer to them. "Do me a favor and explain where we're headed to Rumble. In the meantime, Liam and I will see if we can round up the others before it gets too dark," he figured Frankie wouldn't like it, but he apparently needed to have a private talk with Liam about what happened between him and Rumble.

Good, get Liam out of here and away from the pervert, Frankie was glad that Will had caught on to Liam's discomfort and would be taking him out of the room. But then again, that left her with the pervert who might be joining their group, and she really didn't want that. Her head was internally screaming from the frustration, and the anticipation of seeing exactly what this woman was like when she wasn't right next to their oh-so-fearless leader.

She shrugged, "Yeah, fine, I'll tell her all about it. Oh, could you tell me which room Nikita's holed up in?" she then directed her attention to Liam again and gave him a light pat on the shoulder, "I'll catch up with ya later."

Lorne Carnegie
Exhaustion was sneaking up on Lorne. It had been a long day of walking, and he hadn't eaten yet -- his rations were running low. He was lucky enough to have avoided altercations with zombies for the last 53 hours, though, so that was a plus. He had just made it into the city and was starting to scan the area for a place to sleep and possibly find food. There was an incredibly run-down and dreary looking Mini-Mart to his left, but he could see some very unhuman looking movements in the shadows inside. To his right, however, was a drab little apartment complex with a few open and broken windows. Bingo. Apartments meant furniture. It had been ages since Lorne had slept on a real bed.

He approached the building with caution, his metal bat in hand. He had to be ready in case someone (or something) attacked. Once at one of the windows, he peered inside. He could hear voices from somewhere inside, but he didn't know where. Possible allies was a good thing, but he unholstered his father's Glock just in case these people were hostile. Slipping his bat back into his duffle bag, he climbed into the window.

"Hello?" He shouted. "Are there survivors here?!"

Allegra Sauvagess

"No, I meant-" Allegra hastily corrected her question, spotting his discomfort. She hoped it was because of the remains of the zombie, but it could have been caused by the cold as well. "What do you do for the group other than being another mouth to feed?"
She sensed that he would ask her what good she did for the group, and preemptively answered him. "I mean, like, I'm pretty competent with a gun and I can run fast. Guess that means I can lead the zombies away from the others." Allegra thought about her answer and her mind came up with 50 reasons why that didn't really matter that much. Her confidence was crushed as her expression adopted a frown.
"Actually, forget it, that doesn't really help my case."

Thank God Will was allowing Liam to be away from Rumble. Although he felt as if he was going to be interrogated by Will anyway. "Yeah, cya." He waved at Frankie, also mouthing "good luck", before following Will out of the room. He was still confused on why Rumble hasn't made one of those comments like before. Maybe she was trying to give a good impression for Will? Wait, that's a bad thing for Liam since that gives her more of a chance to join his group... "Soo, did anything happen when we were gone?" He tried starting a conversation knowing that eventually he would be asked about his unease towards Rumble.

Lorne heard more voices coming from another hall -- it sounded like two men. He slid his gun back into its holster so that he wouldn't frighten them when he approached. He started in their direction and slowly turned the corner. It was, in fact, two men. He hesitated for a moment, still unseen, contemplating whether he should make himself known or slink back into the shadows and wait. He decided that being upfront and friendly was the best choice -- if they caught him lurking around, they might be suspicious.

Lorne cleared his throat and spoke softly.

"Excuse me, I hope I'm not intruding."

"And no one's ever been able to run before. You must get a lot of compliments on your usefulness." He scoffed lightly, tugging the blankets tighter around himself when they started to slip. "Guess that answers your question then. If I'm useless to the group, you're not far behind." He shot her a grin.

"There were little cookies of hope out there.."

Jane often wondered about what the future was to hold for her. She and Skye had been all alone for two months, when the odd man dumped her and Skye in Colorado, that was of course, until she met Chandler. Chandler was another reason for her to wonder, as it rarely seemed to her that there were any normal people in the world, however, Chandler, a sixteen year old girl, still existed, and that was enough cause to make Jane believe that maybe things weren't as morbid as she previously thought. The pure existence of Chandler, the fact that what seemed like a year later, Skye was still alive and thriving alongside her, and her own survival proved that there was more than what she believed there was. There were little cookies of hope out there, and that was a fact.

She had noway of knowing what month it was, but she knew for sure it was Winter, a harsh one at that. Little films of ice covered all the tiny puddles lining the streets of Colorado, which she could melt for water if she felt a little risky. Back at her old camp in Tennessee, during the Summer a woman around her age had apparently thought that drinking unfiltered pond water would be okay; not only did she catch Dysentery, she died from it. Little sicknesses like that were common for the less scientific part of the living communities, Jane had noted.

The light outside was hardly enough for Jane to see inside of the Exxon gas station. Everyday she seemed to miss electricity even more, even a year later. Her and Skye were running through their usual checklist that they followed upon arriving to places that may hold supplies: Shelves, under shelves, behind the check out desk, etc, whilst Chandler did a bit of searching herself. Having another human mind had proved to be even more beneficial than having Skye, as it seemed that Jane had merely convinced herself that the dog was actually helping. You tend to imagine things when you're away from civilization too long, often very scary things.

"Hey, I know it may not be ideal in here, but we could close up the doors with a few shelves and stake out here if you'd like?" Jane spoke out-loud into the gas station, hoping Chandler would hear her. She really tried to keep using her tent at a minimum, as it was a much more unsafe alternative to staying inside a building, and she tried to keep it in good shape for when she did use it. The gas station seemed safe enough to her, and she could only hope Chandler would agree.

Will Harris

Will outside when Frankie spoke, poking his head back in. "You'll find him in the seventh apartment that way," he aimed his thumb to the right, and then turned his full attention back to Liam. He didn't immediately respond. "Kate injured her leg again while we were looking for a way to get up to the second floor and Nikita-" he stopped the instant he heard a voice he didn't recognize behind him. He immediately reached for the machete, spinning around so his back wasn't open. Will frowned. He looked around Liam's age. He glanced at the holstered gun, then at the bat. He swore he could feel his hair turning gray.

"You should be more careful. I know a few people who would've reacted with their guns first if you surprised them like that," his eyes flicked to the window behind him. "Who are you?" He thought of Rumble, narrowing his eyes a little. "How long have you been outside?" He kept the machete up, just in case.

"My name is Lorne. I'm sorry to startle you, It's just that I've been on my own for a while now." The boy dropped his bat and put his hands in the air. "I haven't been outside for long, I came in here looking for shelter, but then I heard voices." If Lorne had learned anything from his father while they were traveling together, it was to always remain compliant and submissive when around new people who don't trust you yet. Especially if you want something from them. The older man seemed trustworthy, albeit annoyed by Lorne's presence. The younger man was absolute eye candy, but Lorne managed to keep his eyes on the older man who had addressed him. Of course, acting this submissive could either show that he respects boundaries and unspoken ranks or make the others suspicious of him. He decided to tone it down a little just to be safe.

"How many are there?" He asked. "Survivors with you, I mean."
