Nation Building The New Empires OOC

Master Hand Master Hand , 100% want to trade with every player. Also, I'm a nation of halflings and I think I read you plan to genocide non-elves?? I mean. I'll take your Nazi gold, but idk if we can sit together in the lunch room.

Is there an overarching plot to this RP or is it more freestyle, player-driven? For example, some mods introduce global developments that force all players to respond in some way and shape the game significantly. I like both, but it's good to know these things from the beginning.

Comrade in the Shade Comrade in the Shade , I'm willing to make compromises, after all the only ones I want to eliminate are pure humans. Its like Nazi Germany declaring some peoples Aryan (even though they wren't really aryan themselves, but thats not the point) even if there was some French in their blood. And them working with Imperial Japan even though they were a completely different race.

I also want to clarify that I'm not going to purge my country and that it isn't fascist or nazi. Not that I won't wipe Aupax off the face of lanerth though...

Also AldarisLordOfLight AldarisLordOfLight and Comrade in the Shade Comrade in the Shade , which one of your countries do you want me to do the diplomatic engagement. I could also split my diplomats and do two at a time if you want.

Logically Master Hand Master Hand you should approach the closest nation first, since you're trying to look for people down south. So you might have to base your diplomatic meetings via the map. *Shrugs*

As soon as I'm approved, I plan to send out envoys to every corner of Ianerth. I can approach both of you if you'd like since my diplomats will be coming from a central location.

Also. This site has changed soooo much over the years. How do we track unit orders, etc if we all share the same Nation Sheets thread? Do we add to our sheet and make it ever growing? I suppose something in the BBcode would work for that.

Basically, how do I build an army worthy of Mordor? Plz + thx. :blowkiss:

So I´m not sure I get this right. Do you guys intend to put halflings in concentration camps, or in suicidal air machines with bandanas around their heads?

70% of my nation is haflings (half elf, half human in my nation's lore)... soooooo... hopefully not?

I too have the concern previously raised by Saavedra Saavedra (quoted below):

The RP is the only thing so far I haven´t looked at, I think. And it is looking at the CSs that has me wondering about power levels. I find it a little bit difficult to gauge how powerful a given player´s army is when every army includes hundreds of mages of unspecified power, and sometimes several subclasses of mages. As for the non-magical side, I see troop-to-population ratios that are kind of difficult to believe, and all sorts of variations on units.

To be fair, I may be asking for too much formality from a RP that maybe is intended to be more about fun and less about simulating freaking Hearts of Iron. Also, the opposite of informal nation building is far worse (I´ve seen RPs with about a dozen factions, and each faction had a dozen different kinds of troops... do the math).

That said, I do aspire to have a fearsome combination of air force and navy with a more modest land component. And I do not plan to be openly hostile, at least at first, so trade and alliances are more than possible if I get in.

I have something to slightly answer your concern Comrade in the Shade Comrade in the Shade and Saavedra Saavedra , if that makes any sense.

On the last post of the lore/map thread, it contains stats on species. So, for example, my mages are better than anyone else's because their better at using magic. My cavalry aren't that good and suck unless they use magic or their momentum- they aren't good at close quarters. The same goes for the militia, though the standard soldier can enchant their weapon (which is of varying lengths to throw off the enemy) so they can effectively melee against physically stronger soldiers.

Now the subclasses and subgroups are things I tried to stay away from, so I have no comment other than that they probably are the same as the main class but are stronger or something. A special light infantry is probably stronger than normal light inf. but not as slow as heavy inf.

Do you see what I mean by slightly answering your question?

Those basic concepts are easy to grasp. It is how they will be handled in combat that raises eyebrows.

Saavedra Saavedra , I guess I am not too sure on what the format is on what we'll actually be typing, your right about that. My point was that we'll have to compare the strength/magic stats as well as what the troops are weak too or what they can counter, which is still not an exact science, so your also kind of right about that too.

I lost track of what my point was. I guess just clarification.

Clockwork_Magic Clockwork_Magic Save meh plz.

Im kinda doing the swedish job now during the world war, trying to truce and make up with every country. Master Hand Master Hand I do need trade agreements so maybe we can think of something.

Which brings up another question: how does trading work? Is it just we are or aren't trading, or are there specific amounts and types? Do I just say I have, say, too much wood and he says he has too much fish?

I think we should make weigh and amount quotas. I will specify for example my new ships cargo support (maybe we can use old measurement units), and I can also say how much land is covered by forests/lands/lakes and therefore get production. It would require details but it would make the RP a lot easier later on.

In all the nation builders I've played, ambiguous trade agreements are struck and both nations' economies benefit. It was always up to the moderator to track the progress of nations' economies. Usually, there are "tiers" if you were a tier one economy, you could produce units, research, and build monuments faster.

Comrade in the Shade Comrade in the Shade , I can't wait to threaten loving accept your diplomat with open arms to the people of Khisomer. I think on my turn I'll have one of my 'diplomat fleets' bump into your guy's ship.
If you want them to land in my country, then I could have the king welcome you instead.

Speaking of turns, the turn order is kinda nonexistent. Should I go now, or wait for Clockwork_Magic Clockwork_Magic and AldarisLordOfLight AldarisLordOfLight ?
