Food Cereal before Milk, or Milk before Cereal?

First cereal, then milk. Otherwise the cereal swims on top of it from my experience.

However - I prefer my cereal with yoghurt, and in that case I do yoghurt first, then cereal.

soggy cereal is my biggest nemesis and i fucking hate it, so milk before cereal, but if you're not careful the milk will just splash everywhere out of the bowl before you even put the cereal in and its a mess

Never in my life have I seen someone pour milk in their bowl before cereal. I honestly don't know how I'd react...

Milk before cereal. That way I can mix in sugar and cocoa powder easily.

EXACTLY!!!!! You can't add cocoa powder to your bowl of cereal after the cereal. It will sit on top the cereal. It will ruin the cereal, and your milk will remain bland underneath, like some ivory puddle of disappointment.
I just remembered most of you are westerners, so do you guys just not add stuff to your milk? I mean, even when I lived in the US, I added cocoa powder and sugar to my milk out of habit. So do you just drink the tasteless white stuff out of the carton/bottle? If so, why? I personally can't stand the taste of basic milk.

I'm not western. Over here, there's barely any liquid milk. It's all condensed. I end up mixing all the dry ingredients then adding water followed by cereal.

We have pretty much all types of milk where I live, and we keep a few bottles of liquid in the fridge in case we get sudden baking urges. However, I drank powdered milk as a child, so I still prefer powdered even now. I mix up the milk, cocoa and sugar, then add water, like you. Then cereal.
I'm not a fan of condensed milk for breakfast, I think it's too sweet. We have some of that, as well, but we never actually drink it but rather bake with it. My cousins and I loved condensed milk as kids, drizzled it on bread and everything.
So basically, my aversion to bland liquid milk makes it impossible for me to add the cereal in first, because I have things to mix first to make a tasty bowl.

I use almond milk, which I think actually tastes really good -- it has a bit of a vanilla flavor to it. I mean, I remember liking the taste of plain milk as a kid, but as I grew up I became lactose intolerant, so I don't remember it well. The phrase "ivory puddle of disappointment" made me laugh though :closed eyes open smile:
