Danganronpa: Hope's Rise

"...Does that mean I can hang out with you all too?" Now cue the mental facepalm. That question was asked in a very innocent tone. This was just embarrassing for the poor historian.

Natsumi grinned and winked at the historian. "You better believe it!"

Woshii nodded at Jacques. "Of course! You can count on it!" He said as he gave him a peace sign. "Heh, you'll never beat me in swordplay though!" He boasted, being confident in his abilities. He then saw that a concert was beginning. "Oh, we should quiet down for them. It'd be rude to interrupt their performance y'know." He stated focused and his attention back on the stage. He hadn't taken much notice to the others as much anymore. They were either too far away or were busy with somebody else.

Jacques relaxes a bit, seeing that Woshii didn't pity him or anything. He smirked a bit. "We'll see about that." Jacques had a feeling he was not going to win if they did do a friendly duel but Jacques had the littlest of pride left. He nods a bit, looking back at the performance.

4 students, 2 girls and 2 boys got on the stage as Naegi Makoto got off, high-fiving him as he went off the stage. All four of them were wearing black suits, white undershirts and violent red ties. Hey, simplicity is everything right? Oh yeah, one the female students is riding on a giant pink mech's head. The teachers never showed any surprise on their face. The rest of the hall, though, was an entirely different story. The mech, didn't seem to be clunky at all but fluidly moving like a living being.

A black mic rose from the stage as a sharp-haired boy walk towards it with his equally red guitar. His hair was red and so was his eyes. Some of the more punkish kids' jaws drop.

"Hello! New entrants to Hope's Peak." he said out loud, Tagumi Hayato, SHSL Rocker, as he made a bull sign in the air. The other students on the stage copied him, though the girl on the mech was clearly amused. Rumour has it that he was tutored himself by the very own Mioda Ibuki. That.....is a bit improbable and slightly controversial. But he then started a long complex guitar grind with his fingers moving so quickly you barely see them, stupefying the whole hall and making that theory seem believable. The hall stayed silent, listening to it for a whole minute. Goofy smiles were given out by the short brunnete on the mech.

" Hayato-kun , awesome guitar solo, but I think the audience is pretty overwhelmed."

"Tell me about it..." Natsumi thought. She was just as awed as the rest of the audience! She'd heard guitar solos before, but that could've been its own category! It was like his fingers were all going faster than light on those strings...

She couldn't help but notice the boys' conversation before about having a duel, though, and she decided to bring it back up. "So, if you guys fought, think I could get some pictures of it?" She asked with a smile. "If I end up working on the yearbook this year, capturing a moment like this would be really good for showing that Ultimates can share interest in each other's talents, too!"

"W-wha-?! I'm up! I'm up!" Kyuu jolted just as the guitar solo rang across the auditorium, nearly knocking him off his seat. He couldn't believe he slept through the ceremony, and now there's some sort of concert going on. 'Hey, isn't that...?' he thought to himself as he rubbed his eyes. The red hair and eyes was a giveaway for who that man is. He's quite famous in 3Chan where he usually posts the digital copies of his manga for free. Many fans asks if he would meet this guy due to him announcing some incoming delays due to his parents forcing him to attend Hope's Peak High. 'Oh! Isn't that Tagumi-P? Enrolling as SHSL Rocker? I'm no fan of rock, but...' He crossed his arms as his riff continues. 'I'm not gonna lie, he's good...Oh boy, the guys at the forum will be quite jealous.' he let out a smirk as the his long solo finally ended.

" Hayato-kun , awesome guitar solo, but I think the audience is pretty overwhelmed."

'Yeah...No shit.' Kyuu sighed, rubbing his neck as he looked to his seatmate and asked what he missed.

(Anyone would do)

Okawara Kazumi

"EEP! I...! Um...! S-sorry! I-I-I didn't mean to annoy you or evesdrop a-a-and I certaintly didnotthinkthatyouandtheothergirllookcutetogetheroranythingI'lljustshutupnow..." was Kazumi's terrified reply. If there was one thing that Kazumi was afraid of, it would be pissing people off with her mannarisms. Ever since.... THAT happened, she became a lot more nervous around people then usual. That and Yukio seemed close to tearing her apart like some rabid dog. She was feverishly thinking of what to do next when she heard some rock music somewhere in the distance.

"Music...?" Kazumi muttered as she turned towards the source of the music. It was then that Yukio began to speak again, causing Kazumi to flinch and brace herself for another angry outburst but instead he pointed out the direction of the auditorium. A surprisingly nice gesture but its probably so that Kazumi will go away.

"T-thank you! Again, s-sorry for irritating you!" Kazumi nervously thanked Yukio before running off towards the auditorium, glad that she could at least attend whatever it is that is going on in the auditorium. As she did so, a rather angry looking dove came flying in through the front door that Kazumi forgot to close on her way in. It flew around the corridors in confusion and happened to fly near Yukio as it let loose some fresh droppings. By some weird luck, it didn't land on any of Yukio's clothes but some splatter did end up on his shoes. Damn, not so lucky eh?

"Right! All I need to do is walk in and.... end up... as the center... of... attention...." Kazumi's spirits quickly fell quicker then the rating of Yasuhiro Hagakure's autobiography. Which is to say, very quickly.

"O-okay Kazumi... Y-you can do this... You have that Super Highschool Level Luck right...? Maybe if I quietly open the door and slip inside..." Kazumi slowly and carefully reached for the auditorium door just wide enough for her to slip through and attempted to quietly sneak inside. She was able to almost sneak in with complete silence... Until her foot got caught but the edge of the door causing her to fall over and land with a crash.

"..... dammit..."

"EEP! ..... dammit..."

"Hmm?" Kyuu turned to the girl who just tripped from the edge of the door. As if on instinct, he stood and sat near the girl. "You okay? You almost missed the ceremony...Though it was kinda boring." He sighed, although he was truly bad with people, he read that being social is a key to surviving. And most guides dictate him to try and be as friendly as possible, even if you look messy and menacing as all hell. . .God dammit Kyuu, now you're feeling uncomfortable with some glares coming behind him. 'One of my protocols, If one glares, just ignore it' his mind spoke to himself as he nodded. "W...What's your name?" he almost stuttered, since he haven't spoke to anyone for quite a while...

Okawara Kazumi

"Ow... Huh... AH!" Kazumi looked up to see someone sitting next to her! What a shock. But... It seems that this person is a little on the nice and 'not used to people' side. LUCKY!

"Oh... Ah... I-I'm alright. M-My name is Okawara Kazumi. What's your's? ..... And why are there people glaring at us...?" Kazumi asked, scooting over to hide behind Kyuu. She was indeed happy to finally meet someone as awkward as her but if that attracted negetive attention then what's the point?

-Chigamura, Kyuu-

"Chigamura Kyuu. . ." Kyuu said as the girl, introduced as Okawara Kazumi hid behind him. 'Hm...You'd usually see this kind of scenarios in a Shounen/Shojou/Harem Manga...Maybe this will lead to some good content after all.' He thought to himself as he led the girl to where he sat. Luckily, there's a free chair beside him. "Pay them no mind. Pretty sure the ceremony will be over in a few moments, anyway." he said as he sat beside the chair he used to sat, as if offering his previous seat to her. "Might as well give you a quick rundown about the part you missed." He said as he took out a pen and notebook from his hoodie and began to write about what he recalled before he slept in blinding speeds which he soon ripped the page and handed towards the girl. "...Just in case you want to, that is." he wasn't really sure why would he show off his talent, but he did write dialogue in drafts the same, quick way. Kyuu wondered if he was..Weird in Okawara's head. Since they just met and he's already handing out notes to her.

Minori had stuck around here apparently there was gonna be a performance. She was interested, but she was even more interested in learning about all the people. Though she kept getting distracted in her daydreams about the things she loved. At the moment her mind was on Free! she couldn't stop thinking about all the swimming boys and toned muscles. And don't forget ships!!! oh god the ships!!! Ah~ you love this... But now is not the time to think about anime! Go meet someone new!!

(i have made my entrance!!)

Okawara Kazumi

"Chigamura Kyuu.... Where have I... Eeeh?" Kazumi was surprised by how Kyuu was leading her over to an empty seat next to him. She playfully thought about how such a situation was pretty common in those shojou school type manga. The new girl, lost in a new environment before a nice boy comes along and, like a gentleman, helps her out. They'll eventually become friends. Spend time doing classwork together. Go out during breaks. And then.... AND THEN.... Kazumi's cheeks slowly grew redder as her hyperactive imagination went a little to far so she quickly shook that thought out of her head. "Best not to think to far ahead, eh?" She quickly thought to herself, not really paying to what Kyuu had to say. Her attention was pulled back to the present at the sound of ripping paper and she noticed that Kyuu was offering her a piece of paper.

"Oh? What's.... Oh..... Oh wow...." Kazumi was dumbstruck at notes he did. She was pretty sure it was a summary of what happened but the way Kyuu did it was interesting. It looked just like a draft for a manga! It even had dialogue and everything!

"Chigamura-san... This is amazing!"

Kiyoko couldn't help but smile as Cho seemed to agree with her when praising Hayato she was glad the two shared a love for the guitarist. She joined in on the fangirling her cheeks a bright red from sheer enjoyment. "I know right he's just so amazing I've never seen someone play a guitar that well!" When Cho stood up to cheer Kiyoko covered her mouth trying to hold back a laugh. But it was useless she exploded into laughter holding onto her stomach as she began to laugh out loud. Wiping a tear from her eye she stood up joining in Cho's cheer. "YEAAAHHHH LOVE YOU HAYOTA-KUN!!!" She sat back down smiling at Cho as she looked back to the stage she wondered if one day she'd be on the same stage. Preforming her magic and leaving the crowd in awe the idea made her giggle it also made her think about her senpai who had gotten her into magic. Her smile seem to widen a bit at the thought she wrapped her arm around Cho's neck and brought her close. "You really are a nice lil pal Cho-chi. What'd a gal like me do to deserve a sweet lil bug nerd like yourself?" She could hear others getting friendly with one another everyone was so happy and for a moment she wondered if this was real. But a quick pinch to her own cheek confirmed it was in fact real but now she wondered just how long would this happiness last?

Woshii nudged Natsumi lightly and smirked at Jacques. "Heh heh, of course you can take pictures. We'll both do our best right Jacques? We'll make it through these tests together. Not just us either. All of us. I believe we can do it!" He said joyfully. He was so happy that his little antenna began bobbing again, his cheeks slightly tinted red from the excitement. It'd been a while since he'd had an opponent. He didn't even care if Jacques lost or not. He just wanted to be here in this moment with everyone. He simply couldn't lose when everybody was already so pumped for the year.

Deyama Emiri

Sure, she was a little late and despite setting her alarm for the correct time, it just so happened that the battery had died and even though she prepared herself, Emiri was late anyway. And for such a big day? Emiri had been looking forward to this day for a long time. Finally, attending Hope's Peak Academy. She walked through the gates with her head up and a faint smile on her face. Her emerald gaze took in her surroundings around her, analyzing and noting certain facts about the school. For one it was larger than any photo could hope to replicate. And it was rather grand. She decided she liked it.

It didn't take her long to find where the entrance ceremony was taking place, with having looked over maps plenty of times and following any signs around her. When she came to the entrance, Emiri straightened her skirt, brushed the hair out of her face, took a deep breath and reached for the shiny handle. She turned one.. two... three times before pushing the door open and entering. Immediately her sense were assaulted by noises, sights, and smells, strangely. There was a lot going on. Everyone seemed to be doing something and everything look so different. The diversity was refreshing. She only thought that every type of person should be allowed the experiences Hope's Peak would have to offer.

Realizing that there wasn't anything going on that really needed her immediate attention, Emiri pulled a disheveled book from her bag and found a nice little underpopulated corner to read. Truthfully, she'd probably only do a little reading and a lot of watching. The students piqued her curiosity and she wanted to learn about them without directly interfering in the environment. If anyone were to look at the pages of the book in her hands, they'd see not printed words but lines and scribble, documentation Emiri had collected about all kinds of things. She loved her journal and never went anywhere without it.

Woshii Zuzu

Woshii noticed the new girl who had ran up and poked him, causing his face to redden. She had greeted herself, so he smiled, tilting his head lightly at her. "Your a cute one aren't you? My name's Woshii Zuzu. I'm the Super Highschool Level Fencer. It's rare for me to lose in a sword fight." He laughed. "My family trained me to be perfect y'know? I wanted to pursue science when I was younger but when I grew up I followed in my family's foot steps." He took her hand and kissed it lightly as a polite gesture. "Pleasure to meet you, m'lady." He says with a curt nod before introducing his two friends. "These are my friends, Natsumi and Jacques, SHSL Interviewer and Historian."

Chigamura Kyuu

SHSL Comic Author(Mangaka)

"I...Get that a lot." Kyuu replied, noticing Okawara's reaction. Truthfully reminiscent of the first user who reacted to his work and inspired him to continue drawing manga which soon led to hard copy releases. He didn't meant it to look like a manga, but what the hell. "I think I messed up on the Headmaster's hair though..." He commented as he looked around a bit more. Students talking left and right with no relent, almost as if there's no ceremony going on. He soon noticed one other thing; 'Is she...Blushing?' Kyuu thought to himself, though the thought itself reminded him about the mangas he would read in his free time; The DereDere Classification of love interest categories. But those are just 2D-Story Driven Characters, and Okawara's a real, 3D-Real-Girl. Perhaps it's his imagination going wild? "By the way, the students of Hope's Peak usually have some form of talent, right?" He muttered to himself as he turned to Okawara. "If you don't mind me asking, Okawara-san, what's your title?...Mine's the SHSL Mangaka(Comic Author)." Kyuu asked, curious about the girl's talent. He prepped his pen and notebook since he might get a tidal wave of Ideas to write and conceptualize later.

    Kachink!

"Just what we needed! You just write these stories for yourself, don't you, Zuzu-san~?" Natsumi asked with a big, cheeky grin.

"These are my friends, Natsumi and Jacques, SHSL Interviewer and Historian."

The reporter girl gave a wink and a proud smile while she let her camera hang loosely from her neck again.

"hmm..." she mumbled looking at the other two before continuing, "I could probably name a few characters you remind me of! But that'd be boring right?" she looks at him, "Hm.... Do you like anime?" she asks tilting her head a bit, a grin on her face.

"...An otaku? There's a talent for that?" Natsumi whispered with some skepticism. "I only really remember some of the anime I watched when I was a little kid..."  she thought, reminiscing about the early days when she could still do nothing at home and not have a care in the world. Now, life was bringing on its whole assortment of pressures, and it was up to her to fill in each box on the checklist in her life. Graduate from Hope's Peak with flying colors? Then what? Improve her career in journalism, marry a nice guy, raise a couple of cute kids...geez, she was really thinking far ahead about this. She was still a high-schooler, for heaven's sake! Did she really have to atart acting like an adult now? She knew being an adult would suck later on, but was she missing her younger years already?

She couldn't help but be a little curious about the short otaku's question, though. Whom did Natsumi remind Minori of? Part of her wondered if it was someone from one of those shows she watched early in the mornings when she was little. Wouldn't that be crazy?

Woshii rubbed the back of his head gently before shrugging. "I don't exactly dislike it, I don't entirely watch it on a regular basis anymore either. I do like it however." He said with a warm smile before hearing what Natsumi said. He had mixed feelings about it. Part of him wanted to laugh but it kinda hurt that she didn't believe what he said. He was always struggling and trying his best. Getting to where he was today didn't take talent or skill or money... It came with hard work and dedication. He then focused back on Minori. "So what kind of anime do you like most?"

"Oh I can see why they would say that! You have a really awesome talent. At least your talent is something that can be shown for the betterment of others..." Kazumi's happiness faded slightly. Sure she was lucky enough to finally meet someone nice and who has a really interesting talent. But she has to admit, it made her feel... Useless. Like her talent isn't something that she sees as being useful in the future. Yes it might mean that things would swing more to her favor but then what? You can only go so far with luck.

"Well... I... don't really have a talent I can show unlike yours per say... You see, I... got into Hope's Peak by getting chosen via some lottery. So I guess that makes me the SHSL Lucky Student. Some 'talent' eh? Eheheheh...." Kazumi said in embarresment. It was strange really, Kazumi always wondered why luck is considered a talent in this crazy school but she figured if the school used to have a SHSL Biker Gang Leader and a SHSL Gangster then a Lucky Student shouldn't be so far-fetched after all. .... Well except for the fact that there was a rumor that one of the former Lucky Students is a bit of a nutcase, she might be pretty normal compared to the rest.

Jacques noticed the girl, of course he would notice! He was being poked by her after all. She seemed to be friendly though, there was probably no need for Jacques to really dislike her. Though the physical contact did get on his nerves a bit.

"Your a cute one aren't you? My name's Woshii Zuzu. I'm the Super Highschool Level Fencer. It's rare for me to lose in a sword fight." He laughed. "My family trained me to be perfect y'know? "Just you wait, Zuzu." Jacques says in a joking manner, though with a blank expression. He then looked back at the girl. "A pleasure."

Minori froze up and went slightly red in the face before quickly recovering, she laughed, "Oooooh~! your a lot like an anime character you know!!!" she grinned bouncing about "I'm the Ultimate Fanatic!" she grinned, "nice to meet you!!~" she smiled and "hmm..." she mumbled looking at the other two before continuing, "I could probably name a few characters you remind me of! He was amused seeing Minori's energy. Jacques nodded, made sense she was the Ultimate Fanatic. "I suppose. Though I don't really like how unrealistic most are." Wait. Why would he say that to an Ultimate Fanatic? "Sorry." He quickly apologized.

"...An otaku? There's a talent for that?" Natsumi whispered with some skepticism.

"I believe so. Some of these 'otakus' take anime very seriously. And not everyone can know everything they know."

Minori saw the look on Natsumi's face and smiled, "I like other things to!!! I love cats and writing!!!" She grinned before focused my a sword boy again, "all of it." She states simply. "I love all my animes!!!!!!" She states. "Then looks at Natsumi again, "what kind of things do you like?" She asks.

Her, being basically the Ultimate Otaku, her loving all animes didn't surprise Jacques. "What do you write?" It was usual for Ultimates to like things that are not related to their talent but writing wasn't a usual hobby that everyone did. Because not everyone found it as interesting. Jacques writes too but it's usually work related like usual.

He had hobbies outside of his profession but they weren't practiced as much due to how busy he was. But he was now here, so he might have enough time to learn some new hobbies. And of course, make some friends.

She smiled looking at the other one, "Totally fine! everyone has they're own opinion!" she smiles, then adds at the end, "but your dead if you try to destroy my things!" she states in a slightly darker tone, but with a happy cheerful expression plastered on her face. Her face lit up like a Gristmas tree (ha. homestuck pun) "Oh! Many things!! i have been working on a few-many fanfiction, but also a few things i hope to be books! like a science fiction one, and another that's a murder mystery!!" she replies cheerfully. Yukio clicked his tongue at the fecal matter that had splattered over his shoes.  Reaching into his suit he pulled out a white handkerchief, which he would never use again.  Kneeling down, he wiped his shoe clean of the bird crap and shortly after tossed the hanky into a trash bin.  Not too recently, it seemed that Yukio had caught a case of bad luck that was following him wherever he went.  However, that would all change with Yukio's latest investigation.  The young prosecutor made haste towards the library, nothing would stand in the way of his pursuit of the truth.  The feeling Yukio had upon inspection of the library could be summed up as disappointed.  His grandfather's study was twice the size of this room and held enough books to make this library look like a bookstore.  Regardless, Yukio began his search for any and all books pertaining to the history of Hope's Peak Academy, before, during and after the era of despair caused by the infamous Junko Enoshima.

"...I think it's amazing." Kyuu nodded knowingly, as he fiddled around with his pen. "'Luck' isn't really something that one can manipulate, you know?...Kinda like a Wildcard of sorts; You may be able to awaken another talent or something even better." Kyuu started jotting down something on his notebook; about potential ideas on a Manga he might do in the nearby future. "I guess I view 'Luck' as Potential of sorts...Kinda like how many view this school as 'Hope'." He let out a sigh, "...Sorry, I kinda rambled for a bit there." He didn't have a lot of friends, so he may be a little paranoid considering Okawara is his first friend outside of the Internet.

Woshii Zuzu

Woshii nods in understanding at Minori. He respected people having more than one interest, it made that person more colorful and interesting than people who focused on mainly one thing. She heard her ask them what kinds of things he liked. "Well if I were to list things other than fencing, um..." He said shyly, wondering what he should say. "I like bugs, anime, video games, the outdoors, and..." He beamed with glee as his face lit up fantasizing about his favorite thing. "STEAK! Well, I mean... Uhm..." He muttered as his face became a red tomato. "...I-I just really like s-s-s-steak o-o-ok?" He mumbled sheepishly.

Kyuu Chigamura

SHSL Mangaka(Comic Author)

"...I think it's amazing." Kyuu nodded knowingly, as he fiddled around with his pen. Okawara Kazumi

SHSL Lucky Student

"Oh no no no! I don't think you were rambling at all! It... kinda makes me happy... So my talent is potential... I guess if you put it that way... I might just like my talent after all." Kazumi said with a smile. It was nice talking to someone as socially awkward as her. In a somewhat comforting way, it was nice to meet and talk to other people with the same... wavelength. Yeah let's just go with that. Besides, Kyuu seems to be a really nice person and he has a talent that Kazumi finds cool. She figured that she might have to chalk it up to her luck for meeting this person.

"Say Kyuu-san? What are you writing in that notebook anyway? You seem really attached to it too." Kazumi asked, her curiosity increasing as she noted that the paper Kyuu gave her earlier seemed to be from that notebook too. If she had to guess, it was probably a planning book of sorts.
