Cas watched the jellybean incident quietly.

"Do you- I mean, are you alright?"
She asked this quietly.

Cas could sit here and watch disaster unfold, or she could go try and find him a water bottle.
She went with the first one.

It was boring on the train, and this kid not being able to stomach a jellybean was not. She'd do something if asked, however.

Midas startled when an explosion erupted from the notebook as Alex shut it. The alarm of the magical sparks caused Midas to very nearly topple head first off his seat, but he steadied himself just in time, looking red in the face with embarrassment.
'Oh yes very funny,' He said through gritted teeth. Birdie had let out a terrified yelp and scarpered from the cabin and down the aisle.

Midas sighed heavily, rolled his eyes at both of them and left without saying goodbye. He really had no intention of putting up with any antics and besides he had lost his cat. Imelda would kill him if anything happened to Birdie.

He set off down the aisle in pursuit of the kneazle.

She narrowly dodged a fast moving ball of fur as it barreled towards her, giving a small snort at the boy who had been chasing it. “It went that way.”, she said, giving a jerk of her head before continuing onward. The train was quite noisy, much to Vivian’s dismay. She preferred quiet... but there didn’t seem to be many seats that were open, so she settled for compartment J.

She looked up at the other students who were already there, narrowing her eyes in a curious manner. “Everywhere else is full. Hope you don’t mind.” Not that she really cared, but she supposed she’d be a little bit respectful.

*Alex looks at her and smiles*

"Not at all, please sit down"

*Alex looks around*

"My name is Alex, and this is Cas"

*He points at Cas, who was sitting across from him, his cough was still there but not as bad*

"Who are you?"

*Alex looks at her with a soft smile before writing in his notebook, he has already taken a liking to her*

Vivian’s eyes slowly moved to the one who spoke; Alex. Her expression stayed stoic as she studied him before looking then to Cas. These two didn’t seem bad... Not quite as irritating as some of the others.

“My name’s Vivian Brightwood.”, she answered, her voice clear and confident. Her eyes moved to his notebook and she leaned forward just slightly, curiosity in her eyes. “What are you writing?”, she asked as she settled into the seats.

*Alex shows her the section where he put her name and the date*

"I keep record of everything"

"It's nice to meet you Vivian, what house do you think you will be in?"

Vivian tilted her head as she read the section about her, arching a dark eyebrow. “Hm... fascinating.” The habit was strange enough, though she’d come across worse. This habit could actually prove to be useful.

After Alex had shown her the book, she leaned back and gave a small smirk. “I would assume Slytherin. Just a hunch... But to be quite honest, I would be happy being in Ravenclaw as well.” This was the most she had talked to anyone besides her own parents. It wasn’t awful. “What about you? What house do you think you’ll be in?”

"Hey, she didn't know! It's not fair to talk to her like that"

Glenda looked at Imelda, a little taken aback. She had helped them did she not? After all, wouldn't they all be in trouble if they had been caught? Feeling a little upset, Glenda looked at the ground a little wondering if her plan to get close to Imelda and potentially her dad has been ruined.

Hearing her praise the muggle made her feel worse. Yeah, the person that seemed to have no knowledge of magic was able to pull off a really good manner of the charm, but didnt she, Glenda Nott, do the same with Nox?

"I'm sorry, we never got your name. I'm Imelda by the way" she heard her say and looked up to see Imelda giving her a small smile. Maybe things wouldn't be too bad?

"It's fine" she said rather coldly as she absent mindedly patted Sebastian. "I'm Glenda Nott of the Nott family" she said.

A small gasp came from the girl beside her and she turned to look at her. Glenda didn't know how she feels about this person. She made her look bad in front of Imelda. She was the one that did underage magic outside of hogwarts. Yet Glenda herself was the one that was to blame for it?

"You're Glenda Nott??" The girl asked, in a surprised manner.

"and you are?" she asked, wondering why this person didnt introduce herself before casting magic all willy nilly.

"oh! I did it again" the girl said, her face turning red and she covered half of it with her hands. Glenda was starting to feel annoyed with this person. Was this girl acting cute? Why is she being so annoying?

"I'm Nuella-" Nuella started to say when Glenda interrupted her.

"I don't really need to know your family name, I already know you're a muggle" she said curtly, not liking Nuella.

Glenda stood up and went towards the door. "well, I've had some 'fun' times here but being in a compartment with muggles can be exhausting. I do hope when we meet again it'll be in a more pleasent manner"

With that, she left the compartment, sighing. There goes her plan on making friends with Imelda. Frowning, she wished that all that didn't happen. Sure that girl was annoying but she seemed alright. There was something there that made her not like her, something she wasn't happy about. Imelda probably didn't have a good opinion of her either.

Tearing up a little, she knew that it was her fault that her plan failed. Maybe things would've been better if she was more like Nuella? Sniffling, Glenda entered the nearest compartment, compartment B, not noticing there was another person in there while some tears fell down her cheek.

Location: Cabin F

Pearl had somehow managed to ignore the other voices in the room even as it became crowed as all but one prefect showed up, not that she would have much to say to them. Pearl would keep reading until she felt something on her shoulder and looked over to see Gordon. He must be the other Ravenclaw prefect. That was good he was a hard worker she could try to shuffle off the less desired tasks onto him. The others had arrived and really Pearl didn't have much to think on them they were okay, they would do their work and she could perhaps try to sneak off during nights easily.

" Oh you are here now" Pearl said her tone cold and unaching she sounded more bored than surprised.

Leviea by this point had seen the bright blond hair of the weasly girl and had somehow confused it for a flower. Perhaps it was floral shampoo or something else to give it a sweet scent as well. This confusion for the tiny critter had lead to her thinking the bright hair was a flower and going in for a landing to look over this strange flower. Hair was of course no flower and the confused fairly had started lifting up small handfuls of hair and smelling them. Pearl had not noticed her fairy had left her shoulder and sometimes whished she had picked something far less prone to wandering off to bring along.

Pearl looked up to the small fairy " Come" She said the fairy quickly obeying the order though instead of returning to her shoulder Leviea decided that her head looked like a better place to sit. There was no apology from Pearl to Victoire as she didn't see the need to it was just hair and Pearl was not vain enough to care about it and did not think other would care about it.

His answer made Vivian crack a genuine smile. She could tell that they were going to be friends... or at the very least, acquaintances. “My parents were both in Hufflepuff. But I was adopted when I was very young, so I’m not sure what house my birth parents were in.”

When he pointed out his owl, she turned her attention to the creature and smiled once more. “I love owls. I have one of my own but he doesn’t like to be cooped up.” She pointed out the window to where a grey and black owl was flying. “That’s Finn.”

She looked over to Cas, watching the girl. “What house do you think you’ll be in?”

Tanner had taken a few moments to just rest his legs and take a breather. He was glad he made it. He'd barely sat down and he could already hear the train firing up and the loud tooot of the horn outside. He barely made it! *Pants exhaustedly*

He flicked the fringe from his face and got settled in with Roxxy still on his lap, taking his backpack off and putting it besides himself. "Wonder how long this train ride is... Dunno if the teacher said? You remember Roxxy?" Tanner inquired looking to his cat, while giving them a pet under the chin and who obviously couldn't respond but, who else did he have to ask? Having a compartment to himself was kinda cool though, it's not like he knew anyone yet. Butterflies rose to his stomach just thinking about all this. Suddenly wizard, new school, new friends, suddenly wizard, did he think last part already? Well it was super important! He was like magic!!

He did peer outside through the window as the train started to move and the station began sliding away. Thinking it might be a while he pulled out his phone, blinking a little as the screen looked a bit off for some reason, distorted like those old TVs used to for just a moment. But it was still worked! Does the phone not like magic train or something? Tanner shrugged again and decided to ignore it and flick open a game to pass the time.

That was the plan at least until suddenly some girl came bursting into his compartment, eyes streaming with tears. Tanner froze up and just kinda blinked. Did she really not just see me..?
He swallowed for a moment before calling out.
"Urm hi there! Uhh- I'm Tanner! And urm... Are you alright..? I D-did something happen?" Tanner felt like a complete goof asking this, obviously something happened but he didn't know what else to say. He didn't want to see anyone cry though. "Oh I got some chocolate in my bag if that'll help!?" As soon as the idea opped into his head, he quickly reached into his backpack and pulling out a muggle chocolate-bar with this strawberry filling he liked.
At immediate glance it was probably pretty obvious that the small and scrawny first year was a muggleborn without needing to ask, between his t-shirt with some muggle storybook character on it, jeans, the strange muggle device in one hand, and the weird chocolate. Outside the wand that was attached to the side of his backpack there was nothing wizardry about this kid.

Blaise Goshawk
Location: Hogwarts Express - Compartment A
Interacting: Nobody
Blaise had been at the station very early on and boarded the train as soon as it arrived, snatching himself the front most compartment since most people probably wouldn't bother walking all the way up this far. Still he was comfortable, even got to dress in his muggle clothes today (a plain white t-shirt, a green bodywarmer /w hood that was unzipped, a pair of comfortable jeans and sneakers) since he had to make his way here through the busy muggle station, which was both a nice change of pace from being forced to dress up nice for whatever important minister or whatever might be popping by and from the normal 'poof your there' he normally did travelling.

He'd made himself extra comfortable laying back across the seats, feet up one arm behind his head as a cushion with the other holding up the wand he'd been given by his mother as he left the house today. He only got to hold it once after buying it then she went locked it away till today. Light coloured wood, fancy engravings on the handle, a spiral banding of its core running from handle to tip, a band of gold around the top of said handle.
"Mom really went all out on this didn't she?" He did admire the craftsmanship but wondered if it was really nessiasry, not like making it look fancy does anything to its power.

Cas had been staring out the window, thinking about the kid who'd left them so hurriedly.
A grey-black owl swooped past the window and Cas blinked in surprise.

When she felt eyes on her back, Cas turned to the new girl. She'd seen her come in, but had been kinda lost in thought.
"What house do you think you'll be in?"

Cas thought about this for a moment. "I'm not sure. Hufflepuff or Gryffindor?"

Outside the hallway, there could be heard a few muffled squeaks and protests. Bailey was making her way down the hall, and those unlucky enough to be in her way shoved out of her way or had snacks taken from them as she went past.

By the time she reached compartment F, she had 'procured' a small assortment of snacks. Mostly Chocolate frogs and pumpkin pasties as those were her favorite. But there was a few other things mixed in as well.

She opened the door with a crack and fixed her glare on the other prefects for a moment before she found her seat by Clarion. She let her armful of mostly ill-gotten goodies fall into the middle, taking a chocolate frogs for herself.

Her robes were disheveled, as usual l, but aside from the wrinkles she was otherwise pristine. And faint croak in her pocket told of her passenger, the toad she was keeping in her inner pockets.

"Well?" She asked sharply, looking around,."Take something." She sounded angry despite the words she said. As if her being generous was the most common thing in the world. It wasn't. Yet as with many students, returning to Hogwarts was a jolly enough affair to make even someone like Bailey not immediately go into her usual beast mode.

She leaned back and opened the box to the confectionery amphibian. Deftly catching it and began to eat the squirming frog bit by bit. Taking it apart, the legs, body, them finally the head, taking her time with it as usual.

Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. Vivian wasn’t sure how she felt about that answer. Those were the houses she wanted to be in the least. No offense to her adoptive parents, but neither of the houses ever appealed to her. Least of all, Gryffindor.

Her nose wrinkled up a bit before she gave a small shrug. “I suppose neither of those would be awful. I personally don’t think I would fit into either one.” She was glad for that. Vivian was quite proud of who she was.

She turned her gaze to look out the window, watching the colors streak by them as the train moved along the tracks. “I’m sure we’ll be there soon. It feels like we’ve been on here for ages.” She was a little impatient to get there. Ever since she got her letter, it was all she could think about.

Artemis had made his way to compartment F rather slowly after a long talk with his sister. It had been an annoying talk to say the least. She had gone on about how nervous she was and about how their father would be upset if she didn’t make it into Slytherin... blah blah blah. Thinking back to it made him roll his eyes.

He entered the compartment and took a long look around at the others before giving a small scoff and finding a seat that was as far away as possible. Pathetic excuse of prefects. He thought to himself.

Artemis took to leaning back in his seat, examining his pristinely clean nails. “That’s a poor lot of first years out there.”, he said with a snort. “They don’t even look strong enough to hold a broomstick. Guess it’s a good thing first years aren’t allowed to play quidditch.”

Artemis remembered when he tried out for the Hufflepuff team. He was a natural... just like his oldest sibling. The memory made a cocky smirk spread across his face.

"Well, you don't have to like them."
A bit of Cas's sassy nature rose up to deliver a passive-aggressive comment.

It's my house anyways- what's it to her? Cas blinked at the girl and turned to look out the window again.
With a loud wail, a little spotted bundle dashed into the compartment and flung itself onto Cas.

Vivian’s eyes widened slightly out of surprise before her lips slowly spread into an amused smirk. “No need to get hasty.”, she teased. She could guess where Cas would go...

However, Vivian knew she shouldn’t be making enemies. Not yet at least, so she would extend the olive branch and apologize like Alex suggested. She held her hands up in surrender before giving a small sigh.

“Okay. I’m sorry that I don’t like those houses.” A little nicer Vivian. She chewed on her tongue for a moment before adding, “I didn’t mean to offend you. I’m sure you’ll do well in either one of those houses.”

Bailey snorted a derisicive snort. Albeit a snort that was in agreement. "Only three i had passed only showed even a hint of spine. Probably the worse batch in in a decade, I'd bet." Her nose wrinkled as she turned her thoughts to quidditch,"But I wouldn't count the quidditch teams lucky yet. They have been making exceptions more frequently than they used to. It would not surprise me if somehow first years make up half our teams this year."

Her lip curled back in a wry smile as she thought longer about it,"But I can't say I won't be looking forward to that. First years are always the softest targets. I'll be making them flinch anytime some even mentions a bludger." In her head she pictured players falling out of the sky like rain. "It will be the easiest to Cup for Griffyndor to win ever." She mused as she grabbed another chocolate frog.
