Located in the forests of the Appalachian Mountains lies the small, quaint town of Waya. It's nothing of any real note. The people are polite, it has the usual small town features. A gas station, a few restaurants, a town hall, etc. The most notable thing about it is the farm located nearby, the Silverblood Ranch. It's also mostly unremarkable, though the family that owns it is quite...strange, and they tend to want to be left alone. But besides that, everything is just...normal.
Too normal.
You see, Waya isn't an ordinary town. It's a reservation, but not a Native American one. Instead, it's a reservation for more... supernatural beings. Werewolves. The Federal Bureau for Supernatural Control (FBSC for short) founded Waya in the 1960s to act as a home for a small pack of werewolves that had survived the massive purge of the species that occurred in Europe during WWI. Their intention was for this pack to interbreed with the nearby pack located at the Silverblood Ranch, and hopefully help the dying species repopulate.
So far, the results have been...troublesome. There's a tension between the two groups. The Harrowed, the newcomers, are a mixture of various other packs from around the world, all brought together by the shared trauma of loss. While they're tight knit, this comes with a flaw: these different members all have vastly different opinions, and often, things rarely get done. Only the alpha is able to pull everyone together, and many wonder if the pack can survive without him. As many of them come from normal homes, many believe that lycan's should meld into human society, and stop acting as if they're a separate species.
On the other side is the Silverblood pack. Descended from Native Americans and early European immigrants, they pride themselves for keeping the old traditions of their species alive, and are quite isolationist. They distrust humanity with good reason, but this distrust extends to other packs as well. The majority of them seem to remain separate from human society, and retain the traditions and culture of their forefather's.
And if things couldn't possibly get any worse, the alpha of the Harrowed, a man by the name of Kurt, was found dead under mysterious circumstances just a month prior. With no Alpha, the Harrowed must choose another to lead them, all the while a new pack muscles in, it's intentions unknown, and it's size larger than any seen in decades...
Allo, folks! This is my attempt at a werewolf RP! As you can tell, it focuses heavily on the dynamics between two vastly different packs. The Harrowed are a collection of various lycan's from packs that are either scattered or annihilated, all brought together by the former alpha, Kurt, an idealist who sought to help integrate his people into society. The Silverblood pack are staunch traditionalists, stuck in their ways, and determined to remain seperated from humanity. Keeping these two packs from killing one another is the FBSC, a government agency responsible for ensuring the continued survival of the endangered lycan species. Spots are open for both packs, and if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to ask! There are more kinds of lycan's than just werewolves, as there are other kinds of canines. So werewfoxes, werehyenas and the like are also permitted, though only in the Harrowed. Anyways! Let's get down to some rules!
Rules:
1. Be cool. This is the rule to end all rules.
2. Be polite. Don't be a dick.
3. Work with people. Plot, talk characters, help world build. This is an ongoing universe, so suggestions are always open!
4. Be literate. I'm not asking much of you in terms of writing, but I do ask that you're literate in terms of quality.
5. I'd like for everyone to have Discord, as the OOC is located there.
6. Have fun!
7. Almost forgot this! The tone of this RP will be quite dark, so I'd ask everyone to at the very least be okay with 18+ themes and events. Romance is a beautiful, beautiful thing, and it's 100% encouraged...but I'd ask that you keep it a fade to black when things get spicy.
8. One more thing! LGBT characters are allowed! The Silverbloods tend to shun them due to how few in numbers they are, but it's not explicitly wrong, and the Harrowed are much more open about the subject.
