The Duck Overlord
It is that time. I've been having a major writing block (probably because of this virus and the fact that finals are impending and overwhelming), so I'm reposting this with a cute-ass gif in hopes that I'll find some excuse to get back into it.
Here are some things about me!
■ 19 years old
■ Female
■ Freshman in college (although the semester's over now, but I still gotta find a job and get some moneys ;-; )
■ Limited Internet; also sharing the one laptop with access to it with my mother and little sister, so...
■ Hobbies: writing (duh), reading, watching anime, other nerdy pursuits
■ I consider myself a nerd of all trades
■ I respond to all sorts of nicknames: Anime, Genork, Genork-san, GenGen, Genie Gen Gen, Gen (this is preferred and simpler), Hey You
■ I am in love with at least 100 fictional boys and fall in love with them at the drop of a hat. It MIGHT be a problem.
■ I think I'm funny
Exclamation points (!!) indicate level of craving. It's safe to assume that in canon pairings, I would like to play the male. (I'm not sure why that always is, but y'know...) Also, for some fandoms, I might already have a plot in mind, or least the basic idea.
Fruits Basket !!!Kyo x OC ; Momiji x OC ; Kyo x Tohru.
Brothers Conflict !!!Tsubaki x OC ; Yuusuke x OC.
Pandora Hearts !!!!Elliot Nightray x OC.
Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches !!!!Miyamura x OC.
K [K Project] !!Kuroh x OC ; Misaki x OC.
Owari no Seraph [Seraph of the End] !!Yuu x Mika (I don't care who I play because I really love these two).
Digimon Adventure: (2020) !!!!!Okay, frankly... I'm just obsessed. [Most likely would be mildly OC x Tai or Matt].
Hell, I'd take anything Digimon related at this point xD
One Piece !(Note: I'm only in the 30th or so volume of the manga and nearly episode 100 of the anime).
Sanji x OC.
Young Justice !!Dick Grayson/Robin/Nightwing x OC ; Wally West/Kid Flash x OC ; Wally West/Kid Flash x Artemis.
Miraculous Ladybug !!!!Honestly? Any of the square. And I don't mind if I play Cat Noir/Adrien or Ladybug/Marinette.
Greek Mythology RelatedIris x Zephyrus; Hades x Persephone ; Dionysus x Ariadne; Apollo x Daphne or Hyacinthus (modern AU versions because that's fun).
OtherVampire x Werewolf; Princess x Bodyguard; Most Disney Pairings (TBH); Vampire x Human or Werewolf x Human.
Break These ChainsFantasy, Supernatural
In this world, angels watch over us from their kingdom in the clouds. Haughty and righteous, they claim to be purveyors of good, lording themselves over the vampires that inhabit the ground world. However, there is something corrupt among the government’s ranks.
YC is a vampire, traveling the land and trying to survive. Then he finds MC in the woods, with shackles on her wrists and ankles attached to broken chains. She tells him that she’s a fallen angel, running from her masters who don’t want her telling the vampire leaders about their plot. So long as she has these chains, she can’t use her angelic powers to assist the “demonic” forces of the vampires.
Although reluctant to team up with a stranger, YC decides to help MC warn the vampire king, but this adventure might be more than either of them bargained for.
Rewrite the Stars [Inspired by the Song]Slightly Fantasy
When you are born, your destiny is read in the stars. Nothing can change what you’ll do with your life or who you’ll marry. It’s simply impossible to rewrite what is assured.
Despite this, MC and YC start to have feelings for each other. MC is training to read the stars, and although she likes YC, she knows it’s impossible to change things. YC isn’t so sure. He thinks it’s possible to rewrite the stars, if only one can find the source of them. But what if someone finds out what they’re trying to do?
Can destiny truly be rewritten?
UnbalancedFandom, Requires Doubling
All four nations practice the art of bending, a discipline passed down from one generation to the next. Each bending style has its own intricacies, and each has its own uses.
That is, provided you understand the element you’re bending.
There are tales of Avatars who have difficulty mastering certain elements depending on their personal origin or conflict of personality. But what happens if you’re not the Avatar? What if your personality is so opposite of your natural bending element that you can’t master it?
Four teenagers, one from each nation, are having this exact problem. Although they are able to bend the element that represents their origin, they find they don’t connect with this element. It’s as if their very souls are out of balance.
The Avatar, meanwhile, has gone missing. It’s as if the cycle is over, but no one has been able to confirm this. No matter how many times spiritual leaders try to track them, it seems as if the Avatar is all but extinct.
The four aforementioned teenagers are the key. All of them are approached by spirits who tell them they must find the Avatar so they can bring balance once again. But where to look? And why did the Avatar fall off the face of the planet in the first place?
(I don’t mind which Benders I play, so long as the genders are even!)
The Power WithinFantasy, Requires Doubling (Or Doesn't Have To! Depends!)
There has been a coup within a nobleman’s own household. His servants are tired of the lord’s tyrannical ways and fraudulent methods of managing his wealth. With him gone, they can use the rumored latent magical power within his daughter to restore magic to this land. But there’s just one problem: she’s already run away.
Along with her maid, the lady has escaped to where two childhood friends of hers, who are training to be her bodyguards, live in town. With their help, she’s been able to escape, but she does not know of the power within her that her father’s killers seek.
Although magic has long been missing from this land, the young lady’s two bodyguards hold some of the last remnants of magic within them. They are capable of calling upon this magic to manifest their souls into the form of “spirit animals,” which help them fight off attackers. But will it be enough to defend their friend?
(Along with one of the bodyguards, I would be playing the nobleman’s daughter.)
These are just some personal preferences of mine, although I'm willing to be flexible on some points.
■ PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! Be patient! I have college coursework to worry about, I'm trying to work up the motivation to apply for a job so I can make money once the semester's done, and I don't know how things are looking after the first couple weeks of May. So I may be delayed. Also, writer's block has been a bitch lately. Basically, don't message me constantly asking what's up.
■ This is a team effort. Therefore, I believe that we should work together to create the story and expand it beyond the original idea. Even if I suck at thinking sometimes.
■ Please, for the love of God, NO ONE-LINERS. I write multiple paragraphs at a time, maybe four or five, depending. Please be willing to write detailed responses. I can cut down to two or three depending on how they're written.
■ I have no age preference! (I'm not gonna ask for over 18 since I'm 19 and don't care...) But please know basic grammar. I want to see that you know how to spell and use basic English grammar rules. I make mistakes, too, so it's not like I'll shun you if you forget a comma. (Informally, I don't give a damn. I use improper grammar in casual conversation ALLLLLL the time.)
■ If you read absolutely everything, please comment "Duck Empire." I prefer if you comment here before PM-ing me, but if you PM me first, don't just say "Hi wanna rp" because I leave almost all PMs randomly sent to me out of the blue.
■ Fandom wise, I LOVE doubling. So long as your OC isn't literally related to every frakking character in the fandom. T_T I can double so long as I actually know the character well enough. ^^" Just let me know!
■ Please don't be rude with me. I'm not sure what gets into people's heads to start giving me a lesson on how I should act, but that's not cool. I don't need people shoving my faults in my face; I do that plenty by myself. Thank you. I'll berate myself on all my mistakes, if you don't mind.
I'm not sure how interested any of you are in reading a writing sample, but here's one of my favorite in character posts I've ever written. It was actually written three years ago (which is embarrassing), but at its core, it matches pretty well with what I still end up writing nowadays.
...
The least her mother could've done was understand that she didn't want to wear a skirt. She hated skirts with a burning passion, almost as much as she hated the idea of unicorns and rainbows. Oh, well, at least she'd managed to swap out all the fancy dresses Mom had put in her suitcases for her usual cargo pants, tanks tops, etc. That thought continued to make Skylie smirk as she wandered around the ship. She passed many rooms that radiated with different colors, but she didn't bother go inside them. A mix of colors, plus loud noises? She was not getting a headache today.
Eventually, she made it to the front deck, where there was quite the gathering of people her age. Their auras were mixes of colors, but they kept returning to red: anger and frustration. One boy was peering down into the water anxiously, while another girl chewed out a boy for heaven knows what. Both boys were shirtless for some reason, though one was still dripping. Maybe he'd been at the pool? Whatever, all that mattered was that apparently someone had fallen in the water. Whether it was the dark-haired boy's fault or not remained to be seen. Checking that her Eiffel tower keychain was securely in her duffel bag, she dropped it with a loud thunk! and walked over to the small group.
Normally, people would ask, "What's going on?" or something else relating concern. No, Skylie instead broke in with, "Can all of you shut up? Your colors are giving me a headache." Looking over the railing into the water below, Skylie sighed. "If you guys aren't going to do anything, I guess I'll have to." Clambering onto the railing, Skylie glared down at the water. She didn't have anything against the water itself, but rather, what she'd have to do with it after fetching the girl. With a sigh, she dove into the water, trying to remember if she could swim or not.
Once in the water, Skylie looked around, searching for the girl. A little ways below her was the girl, her fiery red hair floating around her like flames. Swimming over to the girl, Skylie wrapped her arms around her waist, kicking with all her might to swim to the surface. When her head broke through the water, she adjusted her grip on the girl, slapping her lightly on the cheek to see if she'd wake up. Unfortunately, she was out cold. Damn. Turning to look up at the deck she dove from, she narrowed her eyes and focused on the water surrounding her. Slowly, water droplets lifted from the ocean, rising to the side of the ship. They swirled in the air until finally there was a rainbow ladder--or, really, a ladder made of rainbows--scaling the height of the boat.
Wrapping the girl's arms around her shoulders and hooking her legs around her waist, she gripped the ladder with one hand, noting the brightness of the sun. If she didn't hurry, the ladder would dissipate into thin air. Skylie used all her agility as a former street urchin to climb the ladder, feeling the rungs disappear as soon as her feet left them. Her eyebrows knit together in determination until finally, she'd reached the railing she had dove off of minutes before. She pulled the upper half of her body over the railing, dropping the girl rather unceremoniously onto the deck. Skylie herself somehow flipped and landed in a crouch, breathing heavily. Standing up and wringing the water out of her hair, she glanced down at the girl. Her gaze flitted up to the other people around her. "I don't know what happened, but next time, don't just stand there freaking out. Do something about it." The words came out harshly, but she meant every word she said. Sitting around doing nothing got you nowhere, especially when someone's life was on the line.
With a yawn, Skylie scratched her head. "We should either go find a nurse or doctor, or give her CPR, quick, before it's too late." Being the girl she was, Skylie would've done it, but CPR was not in her repertoire of skills. And she wasn't going to carry that girl again.
