So the 15 Charms means I can get 15 of the Charms right?

And where do you find these Intimacy?
Yes, so ling as you meet the requirements. (Except if it's your supernal, then you can ignore the essence requirement.)

There isnt a list of Intimacies. But they are explained on page 214.

Instead they are the primary goals, fears, loves, hates, beliefs, etc of the character.

These can help you in resisting certain influence that may try to convince you, among other good things.

They arent permenant. And can change over time if they are resisted or neglected. You can also gain new Intimacies and grow their intensity.

And they dont all need to be good. You could have a intimacy of a fear of something or great lust of wealth. And you could try and reduce them over the course of the story for funsies.

The Intimacies are good for character flavor, to help set the right mood in your (and my) head, and you can get bonuses to dice pools if what you are doing relates to a Intimacy. But, if you are trying to act contrary to one, you'll have minuses depending on the strength of the intimacy.

Speaking of character flavor, the background stories for both Psychie and Jaydude look amazing.

I am going to go ahead and drop the Steel Devil Style Martial Art. I might go with another instead.

Oh.. for the bonus points.... What does Non-caste/favored Abilities mean?

Is that for a favored ability that is not a caste ability it's 2 points? If so, am I able to put bonus points into Non-caste/non-favored abilities?

Or does it mean Non-Caste/Non-Favored Abilities?

Sherwood Sherwood

Can Summon Elemental be taken as a control spell?
Yes.

Each Caste of Solar gets five Caste Abilities that you get to pick, and then you add five Favored Abilities that you get discounts on purchasing with xp or bonus points. Any Ability not listed in those ten are the Non-Caste/Favored Abilities for the cost of buying them with bonus or xp points.

Syvvaris Syvvaris if you are looking for a all-around useful spell, Death of Obsidian Butterflies is a good one. It affects a wide area, so if we are ever faced with a group of enemies, you can sweep them with it.

Is there a benefit or effect to it as a control spell? I didnt see any mentioned.

I'll look, but it may not have a bonus as a control spell.
So the cost for Weapons and Armor, what does that come out of?
Normally any mundane gear must be bought with Resources, but for now I'm not stressing on it so long as you don't go overboard.

Aww. Well, it wouldnt serve much use as a control spell if it doesnt have any effect.

Also! Just a hypothetical. If one were to choose Occult as their supernal. Would they be able to ignore the essence requirement of the circle sorcery charms, and essentially start out with Solar Circle Sorcery?

The book specifically states that even with Occult as a Supernal, the Essence requirements must still be met for sorcery. Sorry.

Oooh! I can use the Silver Voiced Nightengale Style Martial art!

A note written in the book
"SILVER-VOICED NIGHTINGALE REMIX
Silver-Voiced Nightingale style, as written, assumes that its stylists must sing to use its Charms. However, over the ages, offshoot branches and deviant schools of this style have developed that use other forms of musical performance. If you want to fight as a sanxian player who draws razor-sharp winds forth with each pluck of the strings, a flute-player whose scales burst eardrums and shatter bones, or a freestyle poet whose rhymes sear themselves into the skin of his enemies as characters writ in fire—go for it!"

Can slay my foes with music and kaio shouts!

Maybe even summon some elementals for assistance in my music making.

Would that be viable. Sherwood Sherwood ?

Also I should mention. That Bard is likely to come from the Western Islands.

You can get that martial art if you want; just make sure you take the 4pt Merit for it. As for summoning elementals to help you with your music, that can be done.

What are elementals anyway? Floating balls of earth fire or water?

From what it sounded like in the summoning spell. They can grow and learn sentience and loyalty to the degree they may stick around even after the contract is over.

The real question is where in the book says this? It's probably where it was talking about antagonists.

In other news, I think I'm done with my character. I've chosen his Charms, and made a few alterations to the end of his backstory, just to explain what he did after exalting but before joining the rest of the Circle, and also make use of his Tiger Warrior Training Method Charm. Only things left really are his Merits.

Stupid bad guys. Always ruining all my dumb ideas.

Oh that reminds me! Are we starting together in any certain city or part of the world?
