Zeke, completely oblivious to Birdman's negativity, beamed at Bastion. They continued their discussion for the remainder of the car ride, going back and forth with ideas and proposals for how Zeke should actually practice using his newfound powers. Little things here and there would be done in the car, as well as experimenting with the windows rolled down. Zeke could grasp the idea of his powers more and more as time went on, but it was very clear he needed to set time aside to practice properly before his fated battle with Oronin.
Meanwhile, in a cheap, quiet cafe not too far away from Zeke's former apartment, a group of four sat in a booth far away from anyone else. It was none other than Zeke's two siblings, and a strange pair of twins who had offered their "assistance" with their brother. Elijah, his older brother who was clearly uneasy with the situation, sat on the edge of his seat as though ready to jump at any moment. He had simply wanted to get the police involved, but seeing as they already were involved with the entire block his apartment was in being quarantined, he wasn't sure there was anything anyone could do. He was worried, no doubt. But the presence of what appeared to be Dominion officers made him incredibly nervous. Elijah knew a few hosts here and there who kept a low profile, and they had told him many horror stories of the Dominion and their.. Practices. The fact that Zeke could have been wrapped up in such a potentially awful situation made him fear both for his brother's life, and the rest of his family. Thoughts ran through his head about his brother. Knowing him, he would never willingly interact with someone who was a host, no matter how well they may have gotten along. And they all knew that Zeke himself was no host, so he could only imagine what might have happened in the area. On top of all this uncertainty, the mere presence of these twins was unsettling, to say the least. There was something incredibly eerie about them and the way they spoke. Sure, they appeared normal enough, but something just felt off. Maybe it was just the situation overall that gave him that feeling.
On the other hand, his younger sister, Esther, was the opposite. Her brother was missing, so she was going to do whatever it took to find him. No authorities or Dominion officers would be getting in her way as long as Zeke was still missing. She leaned forward in her seat, looking between both twins carefully. An intimidation tactic, no doubt, but someone of her size and appearance could hardly be intimidating to most people. She had already tried to intimidate the officers at the scene, demanding they let her through because her brother lived in that building they so rudely blocked off, but the flustered officers refused to let her through. It was clear they were not used to dealing with someone so small and fierce, which would have been entertaining to watch if not for the circumstances. The Dominion officers, however, were not entertained, and quickly shooed her and Elijah away before they could make a bigger scene.
Her ruby eyes looked down at the table where her hands were folded, and finally spoke.
"So. You say you can help us with our missing brother. I don't know how you can do that, why you would be willing, or how much you want for it. But we need to find him. So if you don't mind explaining how, why, and what you want, we may be able to come to an agreement here."
