Realistic or Modern Yellow (zombie survival rp open))

"What!? She just jumped out?" Lawrence was shocked. "Why would she do that?" He stepped outside and looked around. "I know where we are." He turned to sasaki. " the school isn't far from here. We dont need her. She had her reasons to leave us and we cant stop now. The school is not far from here. Does anybody know how to drive this? We can walk if we have to."

"I know it would be a bad idea to leave all the supplies behind but Jean isnt in the condition to drive or travel for that matter."
"Can you carry her?"Lawrence asked him.
Sasaki looked over to Jean behind the truck. She was still shivering and almost at the brink of death. He hesitated but gave him a small nod.
They all slept the night and left early that morning. They brang all the food they could carry and made the journey back to the school. The school wasnt that far but to them the distance walking felt like crossing a the Sahara. The sunlight felt like fire on their skin. The worse thing was that they couldnt take a brake as it would mean wasting presious time. The travel was hard but in no time tjey made it to the destination.
Everyone was happy to finally be at a safe place. However they were not greeted by happy faces but guns pointed direactly at them.

They made it back to the school at long last. Eager to get home and to be with their loved ones but their was no welcome, no congratulations, no parade for the men and women that risked their lives to bring back the survivors father tom told them about. Instead they were greeted with hostility. Soldiers and civilians ready to fight the people that just made their way back home and who was at the head of the mob? No other then the general.

He got in Lawrences face. "I told you not to go!" He shouted. "You disobeyed a direct order and put us all in danger." The general never liked lawrence. "Out of all the years you served under me I always told you to keep your emotions in check. But you never do you always act before you think." The general ripped the stripes right of of Lawrence's coat. "You and all the people you brought back leave now. You are no longer welcome here."

Sasaki cringed. He had comepletely forgot about them.He forgot about how they just left. How they practicaly stole their weapons, ammo and suplies without their consent. They were probably saving that for a while and they just took their had work.Sasaki felt his stomach turn.He turned to face the priest in the far back of the crowd. He mouthed the words,"I am sorry."
Sasaki then walked in between the to soldiers bickering. He then then kneeled before the general in silence.
"General, we realise the mistake we made.We are sorry. We will leave as soon as possible but can you do us-me and favour?"he asked, not making eye contact.
"What?"he asked mockingly, bending down to his face."Could you please take in these survivors. If that is too much for you then take all the supplies we scavenged."he said gesturing to the pile of food and medical supplies that they carried with them.General stared at the pile, then to Lawrence and then back to Sasaki. He suddenly straightened himself and nodded at Lawrence and turned back to the school.
As he started walking away, Lawrence quickly helped Sasaki to his feet."What do we do now?"he asked fearfully.Sasaki thought for a sceond and looked over to Jean, still in a rough condition."What we need now is a place to rest.Tommorow we can go back to the truck and hopefully find our stuff there."he said as he walked over to Jean, cradeling her in his arms.Suddenly a streak of lightning appeared in the cloudy sky.It was then followed by faint rain and more lightning.Sasaki knew that the battle was going to get harder becuase it was only just the beginning...

The general began to talk away and then stopped and turned his head. "You know what? Maybe I have some use for you after all." He turned back around to face Lawrence. "We will keep the supplies and the survivors and I want you and the custodian or whatever the hell his name was to go to LA and bring back a convoy for the rest of us. Head south east it will be about a 16 hour drive. You will come across a town called Washington about half way there. They were supposed to be evaced after us so if no one came for us I doubt anyone came for them. Anyway you can stop there and rest and restock."

He turned back around. "I'd wish you good luck but a part of me hopes you dont make it." He said as he walked back into the school.

As the general walked away, rain started pouring. The two stared at each other and nodded in agreement. They then immediately took shelter in a house across the school. When they walked in, Lawrence finally noticed that Sasaki was still carrying Jean."Why didnt you leave her with them?"He asked.
"Well, she's apart of the team."Sasaki said, laying her down on the livingroom couch.
"The team? What team?"Lawrence asked in confusion.
"Well, our team, group or whatever you want to call it."Sasaki replied walking over to the kitchen."She's with us.She's safer with us."he said as he opened a cupboard under the counter and took out a large ,black, cooking pot."She's also the one that saved 'us'.Don't you think we'd owe he"he said as he filled the pot with water."Repaying her for doing what?Keeping her from a safe place with stable supplies and instead taking her for a joyride through the danger zone?Firstly,is this really going to help her?Secondly is this going to help us?And thirdly how did you know there'd be running water?"Lawrence asked, pointing to the running tap.
"Oh,didnt you know this area had running water?"he replied, placing the know full pot on the kitchen counter.
"But the water at the school..."
"The water was limited so we decided to limit the amount of water we used. This meant that some days there wasnt any water. You guys were only here for a few weeks so I'm guessing that you thought that there wasnt any water."
With that Sasaki walked over to the garage.
"Would you mind helping me boil this water? There's matches in th drawer there.I just wanna make some drinkable water for Jean when she wakes up."

The stove was electric and would not work but luckily Lawrence found a camp stove in the garage and they were able to boil the water. They were able to find some canned baked beans and canned peaches for a small dinner. Later that night jean began to come around and they gave her some the water they boiled.

"Whats going on?" Jean asked. "We got back to the school but sasaki and I got kicked out. The general told us to go to LA and bring back help. We are staying here for the night while the rain passes and we will head back to the truck in the morning." Lawrence informed her.

In the morning jean was feeling well enough to talk and the rain had passed. They left the house and headed back to the warehouse where the truck was being kept.

The journey had not taken as long as it did before. That time they were carrying heavier loads but now they were just strolling freely through the empty streets. When they arrived back at the warehouse, the truck and all its contents were still there."How far do you think she'll go?"Jean asked as she stepped into the drivers seat."We got an extra tank here in the back so maybe 700 miles or so."he answered as he climbed into the passenger seat.

Sasaki then opened the warehouse doors and scanned the road ahead of them. The countryside was breathtaking. It was the same road they had taken before but Sasaki never really had the chance to see it with his own eyes.
"Hey, Sasaki! We're burning sunlight! We already got our seats so your gonna have to sit in the back!"Lawrence yelled.
"Unless you wanna sit on my lap?"she asked mockingly, patting her thigh.
Sasaki shook his head and smiled as he ran towards the truck. And then they were off towards washington, driving a very noticable truck, through the baren lands. What await them next in the apacolapse?

Chapter 2
The trip to washington took longer then 8 hours. They had to take a few detours. Push some abandoned cars out of the road. They stopped to rest once and got lost once because Lawrence is not the best map reader but other then the occasional zombie the trip was not to bad.

Washington was a quaint little town where it's most memorable feature was its large library. It was one of the largest in the country. They were about a mile out of town when they came across a blockade spanning the road accompanied by armed soilders. The truck stopped at the blockade and Lawrence rolled down his window to speak.

"Let us through," he said. "We need to get into town to get supplies so we can make it to LA." "$50." The other soldier demanded. Lawrence looked puzzled. "Excuse me?" The soldier signed. "$50 if you want to pass." "We dont have $50 that's ridiculous." "Well then you'll just have to turn around." "We are not turning around." Lawrence was getting angry. The soldiers raised their gun "get out," he demanded. Lawrence and jean raised their hands and got out of the truck. " take the truck," the soldier told another. "Let's go you two." Another soldier got in the truck and drove it toward town leaving Lawrence and jean to walk with their armed escort.

Sasaki herd the voices outside the truck. Two of them belonged to Jean and Lawrence but he wasnt sure about the third.Their voices were muffled and he couldnt really understand what they were saying. He herd the third voice say '50$ for entry'.
It cant be, he thought to himself.
People cant possible still have money in the apocolapse, right?

Suddenly he herd shouting and the truck started moving again.Sasaki then got worried so he peaked out the doors of the truck. To his suprise, he saw was a busy town, occupied by armed soldiers.

Sasaki almost fell out the truck at that moment.Hopefully no one saw me, he whispered to himself as he closed the door again. When the truck stopped again, he immediately ran for cover in the first building he could see.

They entered Washington but something was seriously wrong. "Wait here so we can figure out what to do with you." The soldier told Lawrence and jean. "Dont try to leave or you will be shot." The soldiers that escorted them into town left.

The soliders that were sent to evac washington went rouge. When the evac never came they decided to clame the town as their own. Lawrence looked around. The town was swarming with armed soilders and enslaved civilians. The truck was parked on the lawn of the library next to another truck with armed guards next to it. On the far side of the lawn their was a cage full of zombies and anyone who disobeyed the soldiers got thrown into it.

Lawrence and jean did not see sasaki leave the truck. "How are we going to get sasaki out?" Jean asked. "I dont think we can." Lawrence said. "If we go near that truck we will probably get shot. He's on his own for now."

"How did you end up here?." A girl with a thick, strange accent came out of nowhere, trying to make some sort of conversation. Life in the town was difficult, but on occasion she would see new faces, which often didn't stay long. They'd attempt to escape, often ending terribly. She usually greeted the strangers, as it's often the only proper interaction she gets anymore. Her family was thrown to the creatures when they had tried to escape, yet she was spared for manual labor for the soldiers. She never understood why they would force her through the pain, but she never retaliated. She knew the consequences, but was often punished anyway for hardly understanding the soldiers. She had learned the hard way they didn't like to repeat themselves.

Lawrence and jean turned around. Was someone really talking to them? "Um... we are on our way to LA to get help for everyone," Lawrence said. "What's going on here? How did all this happen? Where are your parents?" Lawrence and jean were full of questions and had no idea what to do next or how they were going to get out of this place and back on the road to LA

"The soldiers overtook the city for their own safety when the evacuation team never arrived." Her accent was making her difficult to understand, but she was trying her hardest. "They decided to take all willing to live and enslave them. They considered those who ran unwilling, and killed them all. Including my family, but I don't know why they had spared only me..." Her eyes watered, but she maintained her composure. "I-I need to get out of here, it's horrible." Her attempt for composure quickly faded as tears streamed down her face. "If I try to leave, I'm sure to suffer the same fate." Coming to realize she was crying to strangers, she held her breath to stop the crying, yet no one had asked questions since, it was getting to her.

Sasaki peaked outside a window of the old, broken-down house.Nobody had seen him run out which was lucky for him.He collapsed to the floor snd sighed heavily.Sasaki almost had a heartattack, thinking he was going to be shot .After a while, he noticed two soldiers ,instead of Jean and Lawrence, stepped outside the vehicle.Where are they now, he asked himself.
He slowly crawled over to the otherside of the room and peaked outside another window. The town was loaded with soldiers, all armed and dangerous.Sasaki was pretty sure that he saw a tank drove past him a while ago.

Sasaki started panicing again. He always used to be cool and collected around the others but on the inside he was truly scared of death.Isnt everybody?
In fear, Sasaki crawled into a corner. The soldiers outside saw the open door of the truck and grew suspesious.Sasaki knew this becuase he could hear the shouting and a pair footsteps coming towards the building. He knew this was the end of him.He knew it in his gut.
As a soldiers appeared through the window, he crounched lower, hoping to go unoticed. When the soldier walked away, Sasaki just paniced more and more. When the soldier tried opening the door, Sasaki's breath started to quicken. He felt like his heart was going to beat out his chest. It was painful but Sasaki had other things to worry about. As his eyes blurred, he could see the soldier standing before him. However, before he could get to him, Sasaki ganuted from exhaustion and everthing just went blank...

Lawrence and jean were still talking to the girl they met when Lawrence tapped jean on the shoulder and pointed. Sasaki was being dragged out of a house and taken into the library. "We have to save him before he gets thrown in the zombie cage." Jean said. Lawrence turned to the girl. "We need to get in that library. Do you know where they might be taking him?"

Sasaki wasn't out for long.He was a light sleeper.A trait that everybody needed to know if they were going to survive. It wasn't exactly healthy but it was better than being vulnerable.Sasaki woke up in a small, stone prison cell, with rusted iron bars.Next to him was another cell and beyond that was a door leading to a small office. On the other side was a wide open area with a small, cluttered desk.A soldier sat at the table desperately going through the hundreds of papers and documents on the desk.Other than that it seemed if he was the only other person on guard and was currently not paying a lot attention to him.

Sasaki decided to take this to his advantage. He searched his surrounding and the cell window caught his eye.It was his only way of escaping. Before he did anything, he turned back to the soldier. He was still distracted with his papers which was perfect for his plan.He took a step back and jumped high enough to reach the window bars.As he grabbed it, he noticed that the bars weren't covered in rust but in old, dried up blood. Before he could scream, he heard a gun being loaded behind him.He slowly turned to meet the cold gaze of the now armed soldier, pointing his rifle at his head."Down on the ground, now!"he ordered.Sasaki jumped down immediately and turned away from him as he put handcuffs on him.Suddenly the soldier arched his head closer to Sasaki and whispered slowly into his ear,"Get ready to meet the Doctor"

She inhaled. "If they are not taking him to the cage, he could be going to see a terrible man." She looked to the two men. "I will help you get to where they will be taking him." She has spent her fair share of time in the city, exploring where she shouldn't. She had been planning her escape for a while, but maybe now it was the right time to execute her escape. She would look to the two men to see if they would approve. If they didn't, she wouldn't blame them. They'd only just met her, but she was determined to leave today. She could lead them to the back of the perimeter, where she'd been filing a hole into the chainlink fence, hidden by the bushes.

"Take us." Lawrence demanded. He was scared, worried for sasaki. He was his only friend in a long time and he didn't think he would be able to make it to LA without him.

They snuck around to the back of the library were a couple of dumpsters were held surrounded by a chain link fence. Their was a hole in the fence and a back door into the building. Once inside the door they found themselves in a small coffee shop. The library beyond was being patrolled by soldiers. They group ducked down behind the service counter.

"This place is huge," Lawrence whispered. "Where to now?" The library had multiple floors full of books, classrooms, computer rooms and a basement for archives and city records

"There is door where soldiers will come through every hour to change their patrols." She stared at the door, and waited for a moment. "If we go now, we will be able to avoid the patrol coming out, and the ones coming in." She had the schedules down to a tee. She knew her observational skills would come in handy. She was ready to get back at the soldiers, knowing that they store large boxes of explosives somewhere in the library. "I believe they will be taking your friend to the basement level, where the doctor's office is." She kept an eye on the horizon, yet so far so good. "I believe the door will lead us to the staircase." She hoped she wasn't wrong, she was scared to death of the men around her.

They waited for an opening and quickly but quietly snuck over to the door. The door was to the basement they headed down the stairs. Everything was going well so far. The basement was full of boxes filled with papers of city plans, newspapers and government documents but their was no where to hide. They had to hurry because if they were caught they would probably get killed and the soldiers took Lawrence's gun when they got escorted into the city

She would lead the two to a door with a translucent window, where the words "DOCTOR'S OFFICE" was written in black permanent marker. She would go to the other side of the door, hoping that the other two had the rest from here. She really wasn't much of a fighter, she hasn't had much of a chance. "It should only be your friend and the doctor in there, he will usually keep all of the guards on duty." She spoke of him as a somewhat of a higher power, which he was. The doctor was a military paramedic before the city failed to be evacuated, being the only one on duty. Frankly, he had let it get to his head.

Sasaki woke up a second time, only this time he was strapped to hospital bed.For some reason it was comfortable for him.It had been a while since he had last woken up on a clean mattress.
Maybe I am just a bit hangover,he thought to himself.
He turned his head to see a person in a white hazmat suit, hunched over a desk. When the person turned around, Sasaki quickly closed his eyes, hoping the person hadn't noticed. After a while he heard a lazy masculine voice."I already know your awake so you can drop the act."the man sighed.
Sasaki then slowly opened his eyes to see a tall, clad white figure above him.No clear features could be shown. He could barely see his eyes through the visor.
"We haven't formally met, have we?"he said as he turned back to his desk.
"I'm Doctor Freedmen and you must be, wait let me guess, trespasser who wasn't tested yet."
"Tested for what?"Sasaki groaned, still feeling flustered. The doctor then slowly bent over Sasaki and looked him in the eye.Sasaki still barely see through his visor but he could still feel the intense stare. When they were pratically face to face, the man sighed heavily.
"Tested to see if you're infected."

The door burst open. Lawrence and jean stormed in and suddenly Lawrence stopped in shock. Jean stopped and quickly turned to him wondering why he's not following through with the plan. They were supposed to burst in, rush the doctor, save sasaki and hope they dont get shot as they ran out.

"Freedmen?" Lawrence asked. "Lawrence. Glad to see you alive." "You know him?" Jean couldn't believe this. "Hes a combat medic," Lawrence said quietly. "What are you doing?" Lawrence askedFreedman. "I'm doing what the CDC or Talenstar wont. I'm ending this."

"But these people. Your supposed to be protecting them." "Once evac never came I decided to take matters into my own hands, the people didn't want to listen so I made them. I took these panicking fools and made them organized so we can strive for a greater good. Nothing would get done with this every man for themselves mentality." "But this isn't right. Your enslaving them and killing anyone who doesn't listen." "A small price to pay for us all to live peacefully again. Nobody would have built the pyramids if they had a choice. Now leave me to my work. I have to take this mans blood. His blood can help us make a cure."

"I cant let you do that." Lawrence was firm but freedmen didn't take kindly to his threat. He quickly pulled a gun off his desk and fired without second thought. Lawrence looked down and felt his chest but wasn't shot. He heard a collapse behind him and turned around. Jean was on the floor. Blood spuwing from her chest

The smaller girl quickly ran to the woman's side, immediately putting pressure on the wound, to attempt to stop the bleeding. As scared as she was in this situation, she couldn't let this woman's life be taken because she led them here. She refused to shed tears, and tore the bottom of her shirt to create a makeshift bandage. Realizing she was too small for it to be anything other than a rag, that's exactly what she used it for. Covering the woman's chest with the torn t-shirt fabric, she would continue to apply pressure, hoping she was doing something of importance.
