"Stop!" Sasaki shouted, staring helplessly at Jean."Please don't hurt them!"
"And why shouldn't I ?"doctor Freedman asked, keeping his eye and gunpoint on Lawrence.
"We don't want to hurt anybody. We only came here for supplies. We didn't know that the military would be here!"he exclaimed.
The doctor then slowly turned his head, still having Lawrence at gunpoint.
"We were sent by my commanding officer."said Lawrence, taking a step forward."There struggling back there. We could really need some back up."
Doctor Freedman stared back at Lawrence, than instantly lowered his gun."I can get you some supplies but you wont get back-up."he said as he walked back to his desk.
"Why not?People are suffering! Why can't you help us?"Lawrence asked desperately.Freedman then sighed heavily at Lawrence.
"Mr.Larewrence,I am afraid that that isn't in my hands.I am just a simple doctor. The guys running the show, however, can help you bring them here savely. But they won't."he said, emotionlessly.
"W-why not!"Jean stuttered.
"The guys at the top, unfortunately, are scared out of there minds.Even if they have the fire power, they would share it.They are too afraid to even leave Washington.Even if suvivors come here, they still feel insecure. That's why they imprison them and make me test them.If they see anything out of line, they shoot them down without a second thought.I even tried to secretly help some escape, but they didnt get very far.You know how scared they are?A child tried to steal bread from one of the soldiers and you know what they did? They blew her up with a tank!A tank!"He explained, clenching his fists.
Before anyone could speak again, there was a sudden nock on the door.Doctor Freedman then quickly hid them in the back closet and cleaned up the blood on the floor. He then straightened himself up and turned towards the door."You may come in,Commander Meyers."
