The walls are indifferent. Your every step, your weary breath, they echo through the hallways like pleas of a cornered animal.

Have you ever thought you would go down like this? Not surrounded by sobbing friends and family, but alone, miles away from another soul. You could fall right now and no one would even know.

You take in the smell of concrete, dry and coarse. Perhaps you took a wrong turn somewhere. You have been walking through miles of repeating hallways, arcs and columns with no sign of a single living thing. All white, cold, sterile.

Your supplies are running low. Hunger is creeping up on you.

Somewhere, two hundred floors above there should be Crossroads. It is a shady merchant town based on an intersection of several subway lines. A safe haven among the sea of concrete. It is not your destination but... it's the best shot you've got.

It is then that you hear it. A faint melody. It leads you to a small opening into a dark space between the walls. Inside the sound flows through a tunnel of pipes and cables and flickering coils.

The melody is fast and welcoming, much like cheerful village tunes you might have heard throughout your travels.

The Crossroads is far away and your chances of reaching it are slim at best. Yet, the melody is here and now.

The space in front of you is unlit. You could go by feel or use a source of light should you have one but it might give away your approach if there is anyone nearby.

If you were to climb inside, it would take you some time before you would come upon a circular room. The room has three maintance shafts branching off it, just like the one you found. An orange lightbulb illuminates a pile of dead animals in the center of the room.

Lemmings are distant relatives or rats who adapted to the harsh environment of the system. They look like white hairless rabbits and although they can grow as large as a dog, there is not a lot of meat to them. One is barely enough to satisfy your hunger. Youd need a lot more for a proper meal.

In total, there are three lemmings in the pile. They look fresh. The music is coming from under them.

Wynona

With: Ace Cream Ace Cream (Martel), ithinkcat ithinkcat (Ariel)

The end of the subway line was miles back, but though it would've made traveling easier on the pair joining her, Wynona wasn't in the habit of walking around exposed. Instead of taking the main route up to Crossroads, she took them down a level and led them along certain stretches forward with brief flashes of light from the little mining light strapped to her hat. She kept them close while they were down in the depths, hands clenching the climbing picks that usually dangled from her hips. She put on a brave face for them whenever soft reflections of light illuminated her visage, bur Wynona dared not speak. Pound for pound, the danger posed by the concealing darkness could have even more potential for ambush than walking out in the open if one didn't take the necessary precautions.

Yet another dead end greeted them at at the bottom. It saved them an hour of semi-risk-free travel, but like all decent things, it ended. Any further and they would've ended up going even further down, when Crossroads was already so far upwards. Thankfully, the almost stair-like hexagonal platforms of concrete in the surrounding depths offered themselves up to climb with ease. That is, until the last step up. Requiring what she estimated to be a six-foot vertical leap, Wynona signed behind them to her companions to sit still, lept up as far as she could, and sank one of her picks into the wall. One more stab and she hoisted herself up to the flat plain they'd managed to avoid walking thus far. Suddenly, she could hear the gentle tune, and see the open passageway it led them to. For a moment too long, Wynona was entranced, then remembered she still needed to help the others up.

Lying flat on her stomach and putting her picks down, she extended her hand down pull the first one of them up. "I'd say it should be safe to talk now. C'mon up, I think I found us our next route."

Martel

"Thank you, I appreciate you guiding us even though we're total strangers." Martel let out a relieved sigh when Wynona finally let her voice out. He wasn't the most experienced when it came to exploration so he thought Wynona's silence was a signal for them to keep their voice down too. Kneeling down and connected his hands together, Martel boosted Ariel up so she could reach Wynona's hand before following suit. The music in the distance didn't go unnoticed for him and he was rather suspicious of this.

"Where is this music coming from? Is it safe?" He frowned under his mask as he pulled a improvised flashlight made of pipe, batteries and light bulb. His original flashlight was broken when he use it to hit a mad scientist back then so he just use whatever remain he could scoop to make a new one. Anyway, this music in the middle of nowhere worried him. It sounded like a trap, or was he just became jaded after a few instances of being ambushed by cannibalistic cyborgs??

Janye
(Right now with no one)

Between walls of one of arifalls, was echoing wierd short noises, sounded like someone was just hitting the metal. Some rats came out from their holes to check out what was happening. They was living in floors and tunels, that had been carved in one of airfall's walls. Some rodents found out that the source of the noise was one of the boards on the ground in their floor. Actually, it was something under them, that was hitting it below. Animals surrounded it and started to carefully sniff it.

Suddenly board moved, showing the dark shaft. From darkness emerged a big, human-looking figure (form the rat’s perspective). They immediately run away. Person who decided to came to this floor that kind of way, was quite short and slim for normal people. When finally reached the top, traveler layed down on ground. Light of lamps lighted up newcomer face. It belonged to a woman with gold-hazel eyes. Dark red mask was muffling her heavy breathing, sweat was covering her dark skin and body was shaking because of tired. From about 7 days she had been wading through the labyrinths of tunnels carved in this wall, and climbing countless stairs, a bit hungry and scared. On her journey she had loose all her stuff because of a robot, that also was in that place . Woman had got a little too close to it, which definitely hadn’t good idea.

It seemed to machine had destroyed everything that she had, but traveler managed to take the most important things. She looked with worry at her bag , to be sure that that they still there. After a while she stood up and looked around. Room that she had found, was quite small. Few tunnels in which an adult has to bend down a bit to walk, was connecting to it. On one wall, was exit to the balcony. Newcomer went outside and looked up. The wind from below started tugging at her short hair. There is still a long way to get to the top. Exhausted, she sat down in one dark corner to try to rest a bit, maybe even take a little nap.

Normally Dolce wouldn't have paid much mind to strange melodies coming from distant corridors. This time, however, he felt something, a prompting, and decided to take a quick look. He wasn't really looking forward to stopping in Crossroads, so the small detour would be appreciated. The mystic pulled his flashlight and a length of rope from his satchel. He then tied rope around his waist and then to a pole at the entrance. Dolce new better than to follow the music blindly- that was how the fae got you.

After some extended exploration (he really wasn't too eager about Crossroads), he stepped into the sickly orange light of a chamber, finding the pile of lemmings from which the music came. He was both relieved and disappointed by the apparent material source of the sound. Proceeding with appropriate caution, he pulled a small sledge from his satchel and used it to brush the lemmings aside.
