Juliette, Nevada
Located on the Extraterrestrial Highway
1951
It's a town straight out of a comic book. The women perfectly styled and posed like dolls, the children constantly playing outside with their friends in emerald-green lawns (despite the temperature that pushes 100 degrees-they all have bright blue swimming pools in their backyards, anyway) and the fathers that nearly glimmer with testosterone. A jewel amidst miles and miles of sand-brown dirt. Life couldn't get any better.
Exactly 36 miles away from Juliette lies the "mysterious" military compound. Cities across the state have questioned what happens beyond the chain-link fences surrounding the base. With Juliette being the closest documented city to A51, you'd be surprised to hear that not a single citizen questions the government and its many mysterious programs.
That is, until the storm hits.
The brand new television set the Johnsons just got set up? Suddenly not working. Word's on the street that the beauty salon's hair dryers won't turn on. And Bobby's battery-powered radio isn't receiving signal any more.
It's not just Juliette that's without the 20th century's biggest leap in technology. Newspapers roll in the next day with headlines reading how the Strip in Las Vegas was dark all night last night. Reno was without its normal charming glamour. Cities from all across Nevada report major blackouts.
As if there was a second stage that had just begun, the cherry on top of this dilemma would occur on August 14th, 1951, at 12:36 in the morning in Juliette. Jade Barnett, a loving teacher of Juliette's, was reported missing from her comfortable house in the neighborhood.
Ms. Barnett would be followed by 9 other men, women, and children in the next three days. Quickly, panic ensued in Juliette. Their response was natural; anything out of the ordinary would cause a meltdown.
After three agonizing weeks, a small and simple letter arrived in the mailbox of every homeowner in the Extraterrestrial Highway's town. Issued by a friendly department by the name of A51 Communications, it reassured the citizens of Juliette. That's all it took to keep them in line.
Or, the majority.
You see, these missing people have friends. Families. Husbands and wives. And they're pretty pissed.
Their concerns are squashed by the local police department and fellow neighbors alike. It comes to the point where they're kindly asked to take their problems somewhere else.
That's exactly what they do.
They set out into the world for answers.
And the world makes it clear that their presence isn't wanted either.
Especially at 37°14′06″N 115°48′40″W.

Q&A
-
Q: Who are we playing in this RP?
A: You can either play a friend, family member, or spouse of one of the taken citizens.
Q: How is this horror?
A: The whole situation has a whole "The Twilight Zone" vibe to it (that's where I actually got my inspiration), but as the plot progresses.. (when the players finally reach A51) there will be many surprises as to what happened inside the facility, where their loved ones are, and what happens next.
Q: Will my character die?
A: Some of them will. I encourage making doubles, but that's all up to you. Just don't K.O. for no reason, alright?
Q: This is scary!
A: I know! It's meant to be!
