Literature What are your favorite plots?

Plots stem from saving the princess to fighting bad guys. What kind of plots do you like?

Bonus: If you were going to write a story, what kind of plot would you use?

Plots with twists and turns, if you can execute those without problem you are a good writer in my opinion. I enjoy when a well thought twist is accompanied by action and something dire.

Is this question just in regards to plot ropes or do any kind of plots or premises count?

I like unexpected total victories, (only in large battles) everything going as planned even when the audience (I) doesn't know the plan fully, pyrrhic victories, close defeats, or utter defeats.
Plus, Star Wars tends to have a good "Good guys win bad guys win good guys win" arc to it. It can be reversed, with "Bad guys win good guys win bad guys win."
As for premises, I like utopias where a threat is looming on the outside, not from the inside. Kind of like the U.N.S.C. except they did have the threat inside, and they weren't a utopia.
